“Does that mean every time you spot Katherine you're just going to tug on my sleeves?” Alec looked up at Hana, concerned, “Hana, er-, I don't know if my sleeves would be able to handle that much tugging-”
“Hm?” Hana had to take a few long seconds before proceeding to his next words. “ Well, for the sake of your sleeves, I suppose we’re lucky for now. Haven’t seen Katherine come in yet. With a miracle, perhaps she wouldn’t come. And your sleeves are left alone all night, safe and sound” Hanako tried his best to sound serious, but some of his giggles couldn’t help but escape. Alec had more pressing matters than to worry about the health of his sleeves. Hanako was oh so tempted to jest more about how much Alec cared for his sleeves, but his own uncouth mouth might just be his downfall. Therefore, for once, kept his mouth shut. For the most part.
“ Did I tug a bit too hard? Should I just immediately take your hand, then~? Don’t tell me your hand would be tugged off as well~?” He recalled they had enough hand holding and put an end to his flirty tone. They had enough hand-holding after all. “ Anything else I should do to get your attention?” he asked, genuinely serious this time. Please no hand-holdingPlease no hand-holdingPlease no hand-holding. Hanako slightly pleaded with his eyes. Although its intensity could make him look more in love than anything.
“Nothing against you, but I still think it's stupid- What thirteen-year-old actually does a romantic goodbye, and out of everybody that does it, what's the chance that any of them actually means it? It just- ergh-” Alec shook his head, followed by a laugh because of what he felt like he had to say next, “don't answer that by the way.”
Hanako closed back his mouth, looking slightly bitter that his chance to respond to that was taken away. Where were his rights to defend romantic goodbyes!? Could he be judging the ways of Wooing? He should. Because truth be told, a romantic goodbye was more of a ‘hanako-made-it-up-on-the-spot-because-it-seemed-less-gross-than-’kiss-or-’smooch’, than a direct order from Katherine. But his rights! Alec was lucky Hanako benefited more from being a good respectful date, than demanding his rights to defend himself. So once again, Hanako’s mouth was shut. As it should and will be for the remainder of this date.
“Music in general, or this? I've never heard this one before...” Pure horror-struck Hana so hard that he slightly gasped. “ Never? “ Alec actually didn’t need to answer that. Hanako was simply too shocked to say anything for a few moments. Unable to comprehend that anyone couldn’t know such an iconic song like ‘This is Halloween’. Some wizards didn’t exactly have music streaming websites, but to what extent was this madness?! Even ‘This is Halloween’?. It wasn’t like wizards and muggles lived in different planets. It was a nightmare to music appreciator, Hanako. If he wasn’t set on being not-himself, he was ready to force yell for an encore and make Alec sit through the song until he remembered the lyrics from A-Z. A little extreme, yes. But rational. At least, in Hanako’s mind it was.
“ Well, music in general is cute, but this song….” he clapped his hand“ You know what would be a great birthday gift? You-” he paused” - having this song stuck in your head. Sing it, play it with an instrument, or if you don’t know, just tap along with your fingers or something. Anything. Really. It would make me so happy”. He was joking, obviously. 1, like hell Alec would care about Hana’s birthday, much less about making him happy. And 2, No one knows Hana’s birthday here, and he planned to keep it that way.
“You know, If your ability to tolerate me doesn't disappear after the ball. I'd invite you to listen to me play piano. I haven't gotten any feedback yet, you don't need to know anything. I just need to make sure I don't sound horrid.”
Hanako looked up to him slightly surprised, before giving him another smile. “ Odd. All this time, I’ve assumed your ability to tolerate me was the one that might disappear after this day.” Wasn’t it normal to end things right after Hanako got the grade he wanted? It totally flew over his head that Alec would actually want to continue conversing with Hana. He had a big ego, but even he could understand that he wasn’t the best person to converse with. In addition to that, wasn’t Alec romantically involved with Wyatt Starkey? The thought of the Slytherin boy made him frown. Perhaps he thought about it too much. You didn’t need to date to play music to each other, right? “ Interesting suggestion. Didn’t know you could play. I’m not a pianist though, so I don’t think I could give you good feedback. But let’s see how the night goes. Who knows, maybe you’d want to take back that invite. I’ll be even more tempted to go if you play that Halloween song, earlier~”
Going back to the thought of Wyatt, Hana quickly glanced around his surroundings to see if, by some odd miracle, Starkey would be right there staring back at him. Although, from his encounters with him, Hanako saw him as someone who wouldn’t come to balls for the fun of it. Quite like Alec, who didn’t see the fun of it either. Perhaps that’s why they were interested in each other. What Hana didn’t understand was why Alec would be fine being Hana’s date if he were interested in Wyatt. Taking this challenge, Hanako was curious to see what’s so good about this Gryffindor. Enough to get Starkey wrapped around his fingers.
A part of Hanako expected to be bombarded by questions about Wyatt. From his understanding, people who had a crush tended to not have any gut. Asking others about their crush through other people instead of facing them head-on. Pretending Hanako didn’t do the same, he was surprised to find more questions about his snake than Wyatt. Either Alec didn’t know Hana was dormmates with Wyatt, or it was a one-sided love from Wyatt’s side. If so, a part of Hana hopes Wyatt wouldn’t see him together with Alec. And the other part was like ‘ HAH! This is what you get for not paying more attention to me!’. He’ll cross that bridge once they get there.
Now back to his actual date, Alec didn’t seem to like choosing the earlier suggestions Hana made for him. With all that eyebrow wiggling & distress-ing. Had he never been on a date before? GOOD! Expectations were low for Hana, then. As if enjoying his date’s minor distress, he beamed happily. “ No worries~. I’ll lead the way to the food table then. The 1st order of business is to loosen up. And what better way to loosen up than good food and drinks?”
“Also don't use Mason to refer to me, yeah?”
By instinct, Hanako couldn’t wipe off the curiously confused look on his face. But after a few seconds, he forced himself to shrug and look away. “ You got it, Duckie. Mason sounds a bit more boring to say anyways. Now come, let’s go get our stomach filled..”. As Alec was worried for his sleeves, none of them were pulled this time. Hanako would attempt to walk to the table of delicacies, but stopped in case Alec was not walking with him, not behind him.
Family issues, clearly. No one hates their last name unless that last name brings up horrible memories. One Hanako knew not to touch on, not that he ever wanted to. Considering that this was probably the last night they ever hung out, the thought of knowing someone’s family history didn’t seem so appealing to him. Alec didn’t need to worry about Hana digging into it, although nothing was verbally said from the Japanese boy.
.·:·.☽✧✧☾.·:·. Current Specific Place: Food Table .·:·.☽✧
✧☾.·:·.
Upon arriving at the various assortment of food, Hanako almost forgot that he had a date to entertain. He took a few moments just to satisfy his eyes by glancing back and forth between one treat to another. “ Damn, I’m hungry..” he muttered only loud enough for Alec to hear. “ Labrador took so long just dressing me up. I severely underestimated how long it took, as you can see by my grumbling stomach” as if on cue, a gentle rumbling from Hanako’s stomach was heard. “ See?” he chuckled just a bit, thankful to have something to laugh at. ooc: for dialog sake, let's just pretend I do have specific clothes in mind for Hana. Thank you ^ ^
However the more he looked through the food, the dizzier he got. Just which food would be eaten by him first? Eventually fallen prey to the overwhelmingness, he sighed, making his way to the drinks instead and pouring Alec a cup. “ Thirsty? Should we drink to a hopefully good date? No drama by the end of the night? And no injuries?” He was mostly joking about the last part.
The date was going well so far. Sure, Alec whined about not wanting to choose to do anything. And yes, Hanako was mostly in it for the Wooing 101 grade. But overall it had been a pretty smooth date. Much smoother than his previous dates, that’s for sure. It gave him quite a happy feeling. Like, ‘ oh, nice. I’m actually capable of having a normal date with someone normal’. Something he didn’t think would happen to him due to prior experience. May the date end in peace.

@Miles Thatcher, talking with @Lani Beckett
"We could do a little of all three. Let's begin by talking, we'll do a little dancing ...to the best of my ability, and then if you feel like taking an adventure, we'll explore the rain." Lani had a very beautiful dress on and her hair was done up for the night. Never would he want her to ruin her outfit if she didn't want to. Miles was the one that figured if you got wet, you could always go inside and dry off later and a little rain never hurt, but then again, he wasn't as dolled up as she was and he couldn't get enough of nature.
She asked him some questions about his short time so far at her school there within the Scottish Highlands and he realized she still had his hands since upon first meeting. Was it awkward? No, but it did make him blush a little. "They did. The architecture here is very medieval and it's a lot older than what we've got back home. I mean that in a good way. Most of it, like the Quidditch Pitch here, is very well kept. And the grounds....that view from the Astronomy Tower or the Covered Bridge from the corridors....it's absolutely breathtaking." The Scottish Highlands just rolled right along beyond Hogwarts, only stopping to give way to the Great Lake.
"I'd love to explore the Grounds more." He knew that the Forbidden Forest was, well, forbidden, but there was still some patches of trees and the Great Lake area that he had yet to go to. Every time he planned to venture out, his professors and Ilvermorny classmates would have some sort of thing that they needed to gather for and it left him little time to really get out there.
"You can by my English tour guide to all things Hogwarts. Oh, and don't forget I still need to see that art of yours," he smiled and the two began to walk. "Love your accent by the way." He was pretty sure he could listen to her talk for hours on end. "Tell me what your hometown is like, your family." He knew her dad was an artist, but not much beyond that.
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

[font=Monotype Corsiva]Enzo stepped through the threshold of the tent, then only paused a moment to take a quick look at the interior of the structure before his gaze began to wander elsewhere, taking his time to rest upon each person that was in his view.
Once his gaze finally reached an area of the tent where a bountiful feast lay spread out on long wooden tables, displaying an assortment of mouth-watering food and- Oh! Val was over there. Once seeing his friend, Enzo immediately began to walk over in his direction. A small quirk of his mouth, very distantly resembling a smile appeared on his face as he approached.
As Enzo was moving towards his friend, a rather familiar voice caught his attention, and out of the corner of his eye, he spotted someone. He halted. It was dearest wink boy hanako, with company~
Lips pursing as he glanced over at Val, he just could not pass up the opportunity to stir up a little teeny tiny drop of drama. It would just be so amusing, and a splendid way to kick off the night. Val would surely understand.
Obviously, he had not seen wink boy since the foreign team's stunning duelling victory that had taken place over the summer, but after the little bit of harmless back and forth the little worm and Enzo had, he never even got the boy's name. So, if Val had already spotted Enzo walking towards him, he would make a quick hand motion to him, signifying that he would be there in a moment, he just had a little something he wanted to do.
Enzo changed his course, sliding his hands inside his pockets as he walked into whatever the two gentlemen were conversing about, staring directly at wink boy as he piped up in his usual plain and devoid voice. "Forgotten me so soon have you, monsieur?" He sneered, his eyes then shifting over to the other lad Alec who appeared to be wink boy's company before he continued on. "I see you have settled for something..." He stopped as he condescendingly looked the other boy up and down before finishing his sentence. "Less tasteful" He then sighed.
"Ah pardon my manners, I never even introduced myself" Enzo chimed in again looking back at the boy who he had just insulted and then reached out his hand while feigning innocence. "I am Enzo, a student at Beauxbatons".
Not feeling the need to grace them with the knowledge of his last name, Enzo proceeded to give the two of them a wicked smirk, the fake innocence from before fading, showing that he knew exactly what he was doing.
Enzo then turned back to look at his friend and gestured for him to come over and join the lot of them. He hoped that Val could recognize the look that he was giving him, and would understand that Enzo was about to sprinkle his lovely touch of havoc before he could truly be able to enjoy his night. "Val come here! I have someone to introduce to you." Enzo beckoned. "It won't take too long, I swear."

Winnie was undeniably drawn to Matt, that had been indisputable since their first meeting, regardless of her pterodactyl screeches, failed attempts to tackle the Slytherin, and that she had sent him two poems about how much she hated him. It had just taken forgetting three months of her life to accept she was into him.
She was not crafted of twinkling glitter with the morals of a fairytale character, as her surface might have suggested. If Winnie were to learn the boy she had grown to love, or whatever the teenager believed was love, was actually the puppet master who had carefully tugged at the strings of fate until she had been caught within his intricate web, she would be seething. But her affections for Mathias were no longer superficial, and she would scramble to ensure the boy remained by her side. There was something stirring beneath her surface, a fierce possessive nature the Slytherin had yet to experience in full.
Matt seemed to believe that someone, or something, had taken Flash’s place. If this were the case, and his heterochromia was the sign he wasn’t who he said he was, she had no memory of who Flash actually was; he had been gone for months. Her heart clenched, but she would hide her sorrow beneath a mask, just as San had taught her the night of her detention that had all but literally turned into emotional boot camp. She tried to remember her lessons, what sort of creatures were shapeshifters. Boggarts, of course, but that was not how the creature worked. Chameleon ghouls were more like mimics; transforming into everyday objects. "Metamorphmagi then..." She continued to theorize, attempting to make some sense of the knowledge Matt had just shared with her.
His kiss caught her off guard, the look of determination that had crossed her features quickly dropping. It was the right move; she would have yelled at him had he answered. Her lips tingled from the touch of his own. She did not pull away, but her face flushed pink from the affection, their lips sealed together momentarily. When he pulled away, she would fix her flustered gaze back on him. "Y-You’re just trying to distract me with kisses." And it was working.
The Ravenclaw’s eyes would widen at this news. Erin... She was a hag? Winnie only remembered her as a fierce opponent during the Slytherin Quidditch game. "What? For h-how long?! ... How do you know this, Matt? Why has she been allowed to roam the corridors?" It was somehow Flash’s fault? Or, Not-Flash, rather. Hurt. Someone was to get hurt by either Flash or Erin. Was he teaming up with the hags? Had they somehow... "Could the hags replace someone?" Her mind shifted to that summer in the forest, when Vladimir had carried a human-sized doll to the forest’s edge and had destroyed it. She had not known why he had risked his life to save and then destroy such a thing, but as she continued to follow her boyfriend’s lead, suddenly, Matt’s fears about the dolls clicked. "... Dolls... Like the one Vladimir carried out of the forest." She mumbled.
Her hip-length plaited braid swung through the air as she spun, minding the placement of her feet. The sheer tulle layers of her skirt billowed behind her form as she twirled, spinning on her heels until she was back in Matt’s arms. "How do you know this?" She would repeat her question. She didn’t know what to do. Aurora and San... Her friends were potentially in danger, but as the pulsing of the music grew ever louder, she could still feel the rhythm of her heartbeat against her eardrums. The light from the twinkling fairy lights danced and winked off every reflective surface, and she would only find her thoughts trailing to Matt. They would take shelter beneath the tent’s canopy. "If it's dangerous... Stay by my side so I know you’re safe."
She would continue their dance and her parade of questions instead of blindly rushing towards Flash or Erin and trying to attack them. Resting her cheek against the fabric of his suit’s jacket, she allowed the sway of their dancing and Matt’s kiss to the top of her head to lull her. From the corner of her eye, her gaze would flicker back to Flash now and then to ensure he was still present. She was not a Gryffindor, was not about to sprint back to the festival to be the hero. There were professors around them, people much more capable than she was. Past ensuring the safety of Mathias, this was not her battle.
She told herself as much, at least. Maybe she was a terrible friend.

"Metamorphmagi then..."
"Possible," he confirmed, his thoughts drifting off to his alleged former paramour Levi Drakos. "Like Levi," he had long presumed the boy a metamorphmagi, since the day of their first and only kiss, when his hair blushed in place of his cheeks. "But not Levi," no throwing the Gryfindor under the metaphorical bus this time, there were bigger goals to achieve and feeding their rivalry was a hindrance this day.
"Y-You’re just trying to distract me with kisses."
"Yes," he confirmed. A peck for the top of the head. No need to lie, he would manwhore his way to victory if necessary.
"What? For h-how long?! ... How do you know this, Matt? Why has she been allowed to roam the corridors?"
"At least a year," Mathias confirmed with a mutter. "I was told and he is a terrible liar," referring to Vladimir. He was a liar, like everyone else but he was not the sort to seek those lies. A charmed existence, he was not the conniving sort but rather the stubborn, prideful kind. He self-sabotaged in his own way. "Doubt anyone is willing to burn a teenage girl at the stake," there were ethics and rules, Erin was technically still a teenage girl, a student and a wizard. "Not sure if Flash is associated, but the timing and placement are suspect," only Mathias had it backwards, Flash was victimized because of Erin.
"Could the hags replace someone?"
"Dunno, maybe," he confirmed. Probably, "but hags are exclusively women" as far as he knew. He was no hag expert. he had no idea Percival was a carrier, a sort of temporary surrogate for those slugs until he passed it on.
"... Dolls... Like the one Vladimir carried out of the forest."
She was never supposed to see those. He tightened his grip instead but gave her no answer.
He spun her about, her height making it easy to twirl her around. This could have been a nice evening, ner different circumstances this would have been a picture perfect moment.
"How do you know this?"
"My cousin has had a bad time, deals with hags and it was worth a modicum of attention and research," but that was where his efforts ended. He knew enough to stay out of the fire.
"If it's dangerous... Stay by my side so I know you’re safe."
"I have no intention of getting involved," and he had no intention of letting her. The gears were moving, there was a risk that his distractions would have a limited effect. It would be preferable if they just stayed here, enjoyed the night and let the fires in the party adjacent die out on their own. He had his doubts so he needed a second plan. He would reach for his wand with is off-hand, it was there and it made him feel secure to know it was within reach. He knew what he would have to do if it went awry but he would rather not.

__________________________ Halloween was the time for eccentrics to shine. Peri seemed pleased by his Pompion transformation, patting the sides of his pumpkin head, marveling over the transformation. His carved smile widened when @Juniper Kelly giggled, and he winked one glowing eye at her with a soft squarsh sound. It was the sort of reaction he'd hoped for- he wanted to have fun, to be a kid... while he still could. Spying @Della Barfield wringing her hands, he tried to offer a quick reassuring pat to the witch's shoulder before the crew took to the stage. Tragically unawares of the changes which @Santario Martin was undergoing, he simply smiled with all the encouragement he could muster, then struggled to raise his hood over the orange gourd currently occupying his shoulders.
The first song was a resounding success. Every choir member hit their mark, and the spells were without flaw, between Santario's Nebulus and @Koko Riddle's Tarantallegra, which sent the pumpkin-headed skeleton dancing merrily in their midst. The second song started with a series of brilliant firecracker spells, and Peri proudly proclaimed: "Hello, Hogwarts! We are the Frog Choir!" It was a surreal sensation, listening to their voices in unison with the sounds of amphibians, chirps and croaks complimenting the human counterparts in a manner both outlandish and upbeat. Prospero the Sonoran Green Toad was held high on his orange and silver cushion, rumbling along deeply. "We put a spell on you... a wicked spell! We put a spell on you...." A furtive glance of those glowing jack-o-lantern eyes to his left and right, looking for wands at the ready, and off they went. Lights crackled overhead, illuminating the faces of their spectators. A spectacular finish, a group bow, and Peri hastily retrieved the pumpkin head of his fallen comrade, the dancing skeleton. It was hoisted high in one hand as the Choir retreated behind the curtain with a sorrowful "Poor Jack! I knew him well...."
Setting down "Jack"'s head and Prospero, he turned to beam a jack-o-lantern grin at the group. "You all did brilliantly, I-" Off Santario darted, calling to a friend. @Xailah Alptraum said she was going to the festival, and it seemed he knew precisely why, because he urged her on with an encouraging "Please." Please help Santario, because he was in no place to abandon the toads, but also an underlying please be careful. Back to the remainders. "Well done, everyone! If you would, please return the cushions to the bag and your partners to their bins. I'll be escorting them home, and hope to see some of you around once I'm back from the greenhouses. Handlers: you're welcome to come along, but I can handle the lot of them if you'd rather get to the party." With a last "Congratulations, Choir!" and a quick thanks to Nurse @Kelsey Brumby for conducting, he went about the process of gathering the bins into a cart and hauling them home, back for a celebratory dinner of mealworms and other such tasty crawlies.
Summary: Performing, congratulating the choir, and
*leaving the ball to return their frogs and toads to the greenhouse

Fall Ball

Eun-ji shared that her friend had been at the Secret Blossom Ball in first year, so she knew the gist of what had happened. A few weeks ago when they had agreed to come to this ball together, Aaron had learned Eun-ji did not attend a couple years ago, so he didn't know how much she actually knew about it. But now knowing her friend had been there gave him a bit of a relief. He wouldn't have to go into the nitty gritty details - she probably already knew about the vampyr mosps and the flowers and the whole chaotic ending to that event. Her offering to listen if he needed it was really nice, and his genuine smile came up as she spoke of covering up the bad memories. "New memories sound like a great idea."Regular Text - English | Bolded Text - Korean
Interacting: @Eun-ji Lee Hunt
Mentioning: the professors in the area, Jack Warren, Dealla Prince, the people on the dance floor
After the Frog Choir performance, Aaron was able to take another look around the area and fully realize why he had felt so at ease. Aside from the decorations being different and there being no major clusters of flowers to attract any mosps, there was a presence of adults in this area that made him able to breathe. If anything went wrong, they were here to make it better, and that was a huge comfort to the third year.
The boy smiled as he turned his attention back to Eun-ji, who was sharing about a summer moment she'd had on a stage. His eyes twinkled with interest, "That's really cool!" Aaron said, genuineness in his voice. Scary but unforgettable - it sounded like his first Quidditch game against Durmstrang. He still remembered how she had given him that good luck charm, and watched him play. It made him wish that he had been able to support her in the same way. "I'd really like to see you perform one day - you should invite me to your next performance! I could have my parents drive me to see you, or I could take a train," he said, a smile on his lips at the thought. He knew she lived quite a ways away by muggle transportation, so maybe it wasn't a realistic thing to say, but he hoped it was the thought that mattered in the event he actually couldn't make it.
After he spoke, he saw movement out the corner of his eye and turned his head to see a girl flourishing her dress on the dance floor. Just before the Frog Choir performance, Aaron had seen Eun-ji glance in that direction, too. There were quite a few others already using the wooden floor to dance, so he could follow her line of thought. Aaron had promised her a dance, after all. The thirteen-year-old boy had been secretly practicing for this moment for the past week, even managing to get in some practice with another person just a few days ago. He was confident he could do the waltz, but knowing Eun-ji's experience with dance meant he was still a bit nervous about it. But if ever there was a time, it was now, because there was a song playing that would go well with the one-two-three pattern.
"Do you maybe want to dance? We could waltz?" he asked, feeling a light blush warm his cheeks as he sought eye contact with her. He was unsure why he had slipped back into Korean - it was a language that he really didn't speak often here at Hogwarts, but with Eun-ji it happened pretty often and quite naturally. "Jack and Dealla will wander this way eventually and it'll be easy to spot each other in this area since it's way less crowded... so for the meantime, I could fulfill that promise I made." If she accepted, he would offer a relieved grin and lead the way onto the dance floor. He was still properly nervous - after all, she would be only the third girl he had danced with before - but he was trying to muster up some of the courage he usually had on a Quidditch Pitch. Now was no time to feel scared - this would be fun.
TL;DR: taking in more of their surroundings, speaking with Eun-ji then inviting her to dance a waltz

Just like what Taylor Swift would say, it’s miserable and magical. A broken finger and a mended heart, with a melody of the infectious vicious laugh of Nicholas. Should there be a connection, the giggle that she let out caused the increase of a torment on her lovely broken middle finger. “Don’t make me laugh, it hurts” As they walk into the more tranquil tent, leaving the fight arena with a big bear that only Merlin knows where that thing came from or why, Aurora couldn’t stop sheepishly smiling regardless of her current condition. Stolen and longing stares, occasional shoulder brush just to get closer. Even just a little hand squeeze, whatever that meant, could make her jump up and down in excitement. It might as well heal her finger, though it didn’t, perhaps the love power between them hasn’t grown strong enough. She had no excuse to hold his hand once the night is over, better use all the time she currently had.
“You don’t have to punch him though.” She rather felt guilty for being the reason her date went the violent route even if it was to defend her. As things started to work out, of course, she didn’t want to go awry just yet, or ever. Aurora grew rather fond of him, it would be hard for her to lose yet another person even though it wasn’t death being the barrier. “It’s not like I don’t appreciate it, I really do, but I don’t want to drag you into my mess. I just-” A little sigh left her mouth. It was true, the girl wasn’t the one thing anyone could think of when they heard the word ‘elegant’ nor was she grown up in a silver spoon community. She might be the best example of petty, sometimes unstable, trying her best was all she could do. Terrified to lose the possible best thing she could ever have, Aurora wasn’t being herself. Looking down on her insanely stylish crocs, the next words that came out sounded more of a mumble. “-I don’t want to ruin this.”
It got gloomy all of the sudden when all should be happy and rainbow. It was her first ‘maybe real’ date with someone she actually liked and not going to put her inside a blanket and roll her down the hill. Attempting to ease the tension in the air, she would give him a big smile and say, “But you threw a nice punch! Just wish I could pepper spray him too, you know?”
Eyes wandered around, looking for a familiar sighting of the CEO of honeydukes. Once the target had been acquired, she would agitatedly waved her hand, still with the flower Nicholas gave to her and a broken middle finger proudly raised just for him to see. “SIR! PROFESSOR! LOOK AT MY MIDDLE FINGER!” Probably not the best way to approach a professor who has the ability to give anyone detention, but what did anyone expect from the in pain version of Aurora? She slowly lowered her hand soon after a late realization of what she did was a tad inappropriate. “IT’S- IT’S NOT FOR YOU, I mean it is, but not like that, I’m not giving you that finger, I’m not! I swear! I just want you to help me, if that’s possible.” Too much ramble in a day, just blame everything on Nicholas. “Sorry, I didn’t intend it to be so harsh, but it hurts, a bit, not much, still hurt.” Her wincing expression, the tear stain on her cheek, plus the condition of her finger would tell the professor otherwise. It was rather clear that Aurora was not a good liar.

The sleeves of a man were not only the biggest priority but his livelihood as well. For who wanted to walk around sleeveless with a slightly teared shirt from the tearing off of sleeves at a ball. He thought he was being reasonable. Perhaps he was far too focused on a matter that wasn't as important as he was making it out to be. His overactive imagination may have been playing in on it. Being able to wear a shirt again was a big deal however. What was Alec supposed to do next time? He was not wearing a torn shirt to a ball. He would have dressed down, because nice things have tendency to get ruined in his presence. Yet apparently because he had to go as Hanako's date, that meant he had to dress up as well. He didn't understand the fuss since well, what was it to somebody else if Alec wore a t-shirt and jeans. Alec certainly wasn't dressing for Hana either, that was the way with the request. Hana likely could have cared or less what Alec wore if Alec wasn't involved with him, and if they weren't relying on Katherine for the okay.
Hanako had made a big fuss about it. Alec didn't see why the possibility of his sleeves being torn off wouldn't be taken into account earlier. Hanako was saying that if by some miracle Katherine didn't arrive Alec's sleeves wouldn't be torn off. Wouldn't Katherine care if Alec looked like some crazy sleeveless uh- punk? Whatever, it didn't matter what to call it because it didn't chance anything. This was one of his few nice shirts, and he knew how to sew, but there was no way he could sew this and make it look normal. He almost preferred the ripped sleeves however, what ill fate could possibly befall Alec? Besides, that would mean he was just- going on a date with Hanako Tone. Alec was not, and would not ever be going on a date with anybody. The only way to justify the situation was to have her actually show up.
Alec silently cursed. Still mulling over Hana's words. Alec hid his arms behind his back. He narrowed his eyes at Hana as he heard the other giggle and huffed. Though he didn't seem genuinely upset with Hana for this sort of reaction.. “What? Is there something else you have to add? It's a legitimate concern.” His tone tried to show it was. Though that quickly failed, a part of him had fallen fate to the infectiousness of the other's giggles. Yes, hearing it back in his head. It sounded a bit silly. Alec tried to keep from smiling even a little. He folded his arms across his chest as Hana started speaking again.
“ Did I tug a bit too hard? Should I just immediately take your hand, then~? Don’t tell me your hand would be tugged off as well~?”
Alec's first reaction to this coming out of Hana's mouth was suprise. Before a smile grew, Alec decided to play along. It would ruin his point after all if he didn't. “I don't know- you tell me, you have a surprisingly strong grip Hana. Are you going to tug my hand off?” Do you have some uncanny superhuman ability? Do you train fifty hours a day just for the moment where you can get Katherine to fail you because you tore off my sleeves, or.. Hand. The list went on.
“Do I need to have the nurse on standby? You must be out to get me, it's very obvious. The hand robber, I've heard of you before, I know your true identity.” His voice was sarcastic as he came to his senses. He must have been looking for anything to worry about. What was the chance he was going to miss something to worry about and that was going to be the thing that slipped through the cracks.
“ Anything else I should do to get your attention?”
'If I knew how to get my attention a lot of problems wouldn't be in the world today.' He thought, but held it back trying to think of a real answer to give Hana who seemed suddenly serious. Until he noticed the way he was being looked at. “Whatever it is you plan on doing, please tell me it is not going to be that.” Alec said, he laughed, and gestured to Hanako's face. “Hana you look like a lost puppy.” It was funny because Alec had not taken Hana for the type to pull that sort of look. Alec was sure Hana would do it on some people, but not him.
-
Alec was asking Hana a question about his comment, a rather normal one. Then adding a comment on the fact that he'd never heard it before. Surprising to him was the gasp he heard come from the shorter boy, as he asked, questioning, maybe he was trying to see if he'd heard Alec right. Alec smiled sheepishly as confirmation.
Waiting for Hana to speak before he did. “Excuse me?” Alec laughed a laugh that was between a scoff that said he didn't believe he was having to answer to this, yet still finding it funny all the same. “I think it would drive me off the bridge of sanity if there was a repeat in my head.” Alec seemed to be in disbelief. “That's evil-” Alec turned to face Hana, looking at him wide-eyed. “Your evil, I don't want that stuck in my head. I would take baby shark over that, and don't even get me started on that.” Alec said, his mouth hung open slightly. “It's not bad, I would just ultimately hate it. It's like a one and done thing, it's cool and all, but listening to it on repeat for an hour would be mental torture.” He stared. “There is no way you like it that much Hana.” He was lying right? No one could actually want that under any circumstance. Alec usually obliged and did things for people because he liked seeing them happy. But the request was unreasonable, and also it needed to be stuff Alec could start on right away. He'd forget otherwise.
“Woah, I said your evil but I didn't mean it. Your not difficult to deal with, why would my ability to tolerate you disappear? Your nice, well, sometimes... Besides your fun to listen too when you have something too say.” Alec's voice would quiet down at saying sometimes, but his volume would return to normal after. “I can barely play, at least I think, I don't know. I started the summer before this school year. So I shouldn't be that good? That's how that works... I just think it would be less pressure to have someone listen who doesn't know what their doing. You'll be able to tell if it sounds bad or not, and I know you would have no reason not to be honest about it.” Alec's lips pursed and his mind processed the comment. “You're doing it on purpose now.” He said narrowing his eyes at Hana, he laughed. “I- not that you weren't before. I repeat my statement that there is no way you like it that much. You're doing this to mess with me.” He still seemed in disbelief that Hanako was set so firm on it. Alec ran his hand through his hair. “You won't settle for Beatles songs on piano?” He only knew a few, admittedly he was learning them for others already. Even if the people he was learning them for had slim chances of hearing him play.
-
It felt more abundantly clear as Hana just let Alec sit through trying to tell Hanako that he was an indecisive person and he had no interest in picking. He was relieved, at the very least, when Hana agreed. But he was beaming- with joy? Uh what? The confusing eyebrow movements ceased, even while his confusion hadn't. This was a ride... Alec told Hana to avoid calling him Mason. He would cringe as Hana looked obviously curious, it pained Alec on so many levels. Only seconds of looking curious and Hana would turn and shrug it off, agreeing, something about Mason being boring anyway. Alec ignored the nickname Duckie, he wasn't as bothered by it anymore... At least not when he had more important things.
Like Hana's very two-sided reaction. He looked like he'd wanted to ask, and went on shrugging it off as if he didn't have interest in Alec's business in the first place. Alec didn't know Hana well, he barely knew him, but from his small bits of poking and prodding this felt like an unusual thing to do. Alec took a breath. Focusing on the moment only to find Hana had started walking. “Ah sorry! Yes let's go do that- or uh, whatever thing you said was!” Alec said affirmatively, moving to catch up.
[At Food Table] It was the kindness the surprised him. Hana didn't have to do that. He seemed to really want too ask questions. Alec thought Hana was nice, but not in that way. Admittedly, he hadn't thought of Hana as considerate as he'd chosen to be. Alec blinked as they reached where Hana had let them. Food. Hana had said something about it earlier... Alec listened to Hana as he almost ranted about Katherine, laughing on cue when Hana's stomach grumbled to prove his point. “How long did she take? Does it really take that long to get ready? Did she put you in multiple outfits before deciding what she wanted?” Alec asked he snickered, he was able to imagine that. “Lucky for you there is a plentiful amount of food in front of you.” Alec gestured to the table as if it wasn't obvious. He watched as Hana looked around before settling on drinks. “Aren't you hungry?” Alec asked, but he would put that aside, and take the glass as he was offered it.
“I'd drink a glass of whatever this is to that.” Alec said, he offered a genuine smile Hana's way. Besides Hanako made everything more interesting. They didn't need drama for that. Hana was the drama. Alec would clink his cup against Hanako's for the sake of it, and laugh. Taking a sip, though he didn't drink much. Alec wasn't all that hungry so he settled on that one sip and being done with it.
[Enzo shows up here] Alec waited a few minutes before speaking again, he rubbed the back of his neck, “Hey-, um, by the way, I just want to say thanks for-” In the middle of Alec about to thank Hana for not asking questions because it meant a ton and he knew how hard Hana was trying to resist, someone walked up to the pair. Alec turned, moving so he was by Hanako, but not in the way of the stranger. Maybe they just wanted to get food, and Alec and Hana had been in the way this whole time? That was- never mind. Alec would go silent as the stranger started speaking to Hana.
His words caught Alec's attention, though Alec was annoyed with the tone of the stranger's voice. He would have been fine, he would let it slide because the words meant he could let his "date" find real dates from now on. His first questions were if this was really the type of people Hana decided to invest his time in. If so-Alec had other things to say.
“Less tasteful?” Real cute tough guy, real cute. Alec raised a brow as he looked at the other, he seemed amused by the select insult. Alec peered over at Hana only seconds later mouthing a choice of select curse words, which was actually none at all, just him opening his mouth as he looked at Hana and internally screaming. Then mouthing, "you jinxed it." Alec took a deep breath, and managed a sickly sweet smile that didn't reach his eyes as he looked at the male who'd come to the pair. “You seem like an absolute pleasure,” Can Alec punch him? He looks like someone who absolutely deserves to be punched. When the other extended their hand, Alec half laughed. He wasn't going to shake his hand. That was for people who deserved respect.
There were multiple reasons for why he didn't, one, he had a stupid face, that was good enough. Two, the way he was acting, it didn't matter who's presence he was displeased by, he seemed slightly interested in Hana(gross people liking each other, or being flirty, or something, this was weird to be involved in) he would at least have the audacity to know how to act in the presence of them- The point was that wasn't how you got people to like you. Three, he insulted who Hana could have chose to hang out with(Or at least who he thought Hana chose), Alec could care or less about being insulted because it held no ground, that kid was jealous of what he didn't have, but anyway, why would you insult the person you think they chose to hang out with. That's not very supportive... Or healthy. Four, why couldn't he leave Hana alone, if he cared he would. Hana was having an, okay time. He didn't know how Hana felt about it now but Alec's reaction so far wasn't helping anything.
Alec was only allowed one punch per a night(he wasn't really even supposed to be punching people in the first place!), he still had someone he wanted to go back and punch. He wasn't wasting it on a loser, he'd make it work. “You and Hana have met before then?” Alec asked through slightly gritted teeth. Looking at Hana out of the back field of vision. “Whatever you may be comparing me too, it's certainly not you. You wearing enough black to be attending a funeral, I thought your face was already depressing enough but you proved me wrong.” He folded his arms across his chest(as well as he could manage it while holding a cup), being taller then the other he used his height as a vantage point. Looking down at Enzo, as if he were an ant. “Genetics are random, you can't blame someone for having a face that makes others go blind. I however lack sympathy for those who dress up with no ability to make themselves look worse then they already are, but manage anyway.”
Alec eyed the drink he was holding. He wasn't going to finish it, he might as well, put it to good use, it would be a shame it Hana ended up pouring it for nothing..Holding the cup Alec would raise his hand above Enzo head, attempting to dump the drink on his head(akari feel free too have alec auto-fail and say the drink ends up missing Enzo, or say it hits Enzo. I don't mind either way, rolling for it just seems like it isn't needed). Alec would move his hand away after, no matter the outcome, letting the cup slip of his hand and fall to the ground. “It slipped out of my hand.” Alec would offer as an explanation to Enzo for attempting to dump a drink on his head. Alec looked away, what an egomaniac, and manage a small smile. When his eyes finally reached Hana's he'd look at him apologetically. “Sorry, I know you poured it for me to actually drink. I wasn't that thirsty. . .” Alec would take a moment. Searching Hana's eyes still trying to figure out what involvement he had with Enzo, before Alec would shake his head.
Alec didn't need to know to know what he wanted to do now. He was holding back from making Enzo barf slugs then and there, nobody wanted that mental image. Alec looked a little huffy, yet concerned among many other things at the same time. “How about we go do something else? We can come back and get you some food later.” Alec said, not in the mood to deal with this tonight. Hadn't it been to no drama? Maybe the cups were cursed. “If you want to network and find and flirt with someone, find a real date for the next ball. Or don't, that's fine. I don't see Katherine so she's not around to hear either of those options.” Alec said, his voice only loud enough that Hana could hear(Enzo can hear if he wants but there's no point). He was still uncomfortable with anything that had to do with things like this. But he was stuck in it now. He was too far in. “Not him though Hana. You could do so much better then him, you deserve better then that.” He muttered and gestured towards Enzo to make it clear, still being quiet. “I lied. His face is fine. In fact, his only good quality is his semi-decent face, and with the way he's acting soon enough he won't have that either.” He was predicting the future, it was fine!
Alec would gently reach for Hana's hand to encourage faster leaving, his willingness to do things has skyrocketed because he didn't want to be apart of this or have Hana around this guy.

#274782 Blue in English, #a62b2b Red in Korean"That's really cool!" The boy seemed genuinely interested in her experience. “Yes it was! I think it was the first time I was genuinely proud of my work. Even the stage light exploded as a grand finale,” she snorted quietly. “I’d like to believe it was due to my incredible performance alas it turned out my aunt just really didn’t want to be there.” She looked amused as she said this, genuinely not realising the information she was giving the boy. The witch wasn’t sure whether she was really okay with what happened on that day or whether she was still in denial. After all, if she didn’t move out of the way as quickly as she did, it could have ended REALLY badly. “I am lucky my teacher still lets me attend the ballet classes during holidays otherwise I wouldn't have an opportunity like that. I practice a lot during my free time and with the dance club as well so I’m still able to keep up with the other girls back home. Still…I suppose it’s only a matter of time before I can’t.”
Her smile was a bit somewhat sad this time. Doing ballet professionally was her dream but and was very aware of the fact that going to Hogwarts meant she had to give up on it. There were no professional classes here and if you wanted to succeed in ballet, you had to live it every day. Eun-ji refused to think about it too much however. It would make her bitter. “If I get another opportunity though I would love to have you there,” she said with a more sincere smile. She did still hope for at least one more experience like that and even if Aaron couldn’t be there, his offer made her happy. “Also…I could technically send it to you by e-mail when we are back home. I’m pretty sure my dad recorded it all.” The girl didn’t ask for the e-mail address or whether he even had one. Should he be genuinely interested, he would give it to her himself. It was her way of letting him make a choice. After all, ballet was beautiful but it wasn’t for everybody…she understood that much.
After a moment or two, the Hufflepuff eyed the dance floor as she did herself before the amazing frog performance. Was he thinking about asking her to dance? Eun-ji was hopeful but didn’t let any of that show on her face. She didn’t want him to feel like he had to even if he previously agreed to do so. The boy said he wasn’t a great dancer and she already promised herself to make sure he had fun this evening. If he didn’t feel like dancing, she wouldn’t hold it against him. "Do you maybe want to dance? We could waltz?" The witch blinked in surprise. She didn’t expect him know anything beyond the typical slow dance. Not that she thought he wasn’t capable enough to learn it, she just assumed he wasn’t very interested. “I would love to.” She answered with a bright smile on her face, switching to Korean naturally. She was also about to point out he didn’t have to but judging from his relieved smile, he probably didn’t hate the idea so she let it go. “Yeah I think they should be able to find us here pretty easily,” she agreed before accepting the offered hand.
Eun-ji was happy to be led towards the dance floor but she also couldn’t help but blush a little. This was only second time she had danced with a boy. Her father, who taught her the art of ballroom dance didn’t count obviously. When it came to club activities, there were mostly girls so far and she attended the previous ball with Lucia so the only other time she got to dance with a boy was last Fall ball. The Durmstrang boy was a good dancer but she didn’t mind if Aaron wasn’t. She was in charge of teaching Lucia so she knew how to adapt to a beginner level of dancing and still have plenty of fun doing it. To her ballroom dancing was always more about the fun than about skill and she believed both sides should have equally great experience.
