Reason for Reapplication: So, I want to change Hana's residence to Woodstock, England if possible. Cuz lwk when I first joined the thing I only saw three options cuz i did not scroll far enough, but it also impacted my roleplay because I once mentioned that Hana came from an absurdly rich family even tho she's a half-blood and that she live in a manor kind of house but with london, it is too dense geographically, making the manor scenario unrealistic. Reason for Reapplication|
I am reapplying due to inactivity. Nothing in his originally accepted background has been changed, and I have not made any new threads explaining his absence. I know some things have changed, rules-wise, while I have been gone, so please let me know if anything needs to be edited. I am happy to do so. Alaric’s absence in the adult world will be explained in a solo only after approval.
The basic storyline is that Alaric stepped down as HoH because his adoptive mother, Victoria, became extremely frail in her old age, and he wanted to take her back to her hometown in the United States to spend the final days of her life in familiarity and comfort.
Alaric will have taken up teaching Astronomy at a local community college at night while he cared for Victoria. After 3.5 years, Victoria has now passed away, and now that she has been laid to rest, Alaric is moving back to his estate in the UK.
The only thing I foresee needing updating is more specificity about where his estate is located, so I decided it would be in Hogsmeade.
Edit: The timeline is probably just because I forgot when I stepped down originally (I conflated my personal absence with his). If the passing in 2024 is just because of the timeline that was in my head, I would extend the mother to not pass away until spring of 2026.
However, if I did write that somewhere, I am happy to just state that Alaric remained teaching in America until 2026, processing his grief and settling his affairs there while, of course, giving proper notice to his current place of employment. I intend for Alaric to move back this Autumn in 2026.
If the community college can be a wizarding institution, I would prefer to go that route, considering Alaric is a Dhampir. His canon is that he wears makeup to hide his corpse-like appearance, but he remains extremely fair. He typically doesn't wear colored contacts to hide his eye color unless absolutely necessary.

She had grown fragile in her old age, and caring for her was not only his obligation, but his honor. She had chosen to care for a young dhampir boy as if he were her own son, even though she didn’t have to. Returning that same love and kindness was the very least he could do. Alaric wanted her to spend her twilight years where she had originally called home. That meant taking her back to East Dorset, Vermont, while she was still well enough to travel.
Returning home to the crisp mountain air seemed to revitalize Victoria, and she thrived for a few years. During that time, Alaric obtained another Astronomy Professor position at a wizarding community college. It wasn’t quite the same as working at Hogwarts, but it allowed him to spend his nights charting the stars, calculating cosmic events, and passing on his knowledge to the younger generations.
As the years came and went, Victoria became less independent but was relentless in Alaric keeping his teaching position. She refused to let him upend his life on her behalf. So, he hired a night nurse to watch over her while he taught. Come springtime 2026, Victoria Equinox passed away peacefully with Alaric by her side. Her last request was for him to sing to her one more time, and so he did. He sang to her the same lullaby that she sang for him when he was scared, and before he finished the song, she was gone.
Alaric had allowed himself to wallow in his grief before deciding it was time for another fresh start back in the UK. She had made him promise that he would go back one day, and he knew he had to honor that promise. Come summertime, Alaric would announce his intended departure to his colleagues and arrange a replacement. He would hire a caretaker and his family to care for the mountain home and live in it as if it were their own. He would also hire a service to open his home in Hogsmeade, clean and air it, and arrange anything he sent ahead of him.
Come Saturday, September 19th, Alaric would find himself boarding the Mystic Pullman at 7 am from King's Cross Station. The 3.5 hours that it took to travel to Hogsmeade felt far shorter than it should, but at promptly 10:30 am Alaric would find himself walking the familiar streets of Hogsmeade.

- We need a clear timeline of Alaric's life from his resignation as Head of Ravenclaw until he moved back to his estate in the UK. Alaric stepped down from his position as Head of Ravenclaw in late 2020 to take care of his adoptive mother for 3.5 years while, at the same time, teaching Astronomy at a local community college. My understanding is that Victoria passed away in 2024. What was he doing after his mother's death? Did Alaric move back to the UK that year, or did he return this year (2026)?
- Please clarify whether the community college where Alaric taught Astronomy is a Muggle or wizarding institution, as this would be relevant to the Statute of Secrecy.

Reason for Reapplication: On the morning of the twenty-ninth of May, an owl dropped a letter on Bea's plate during breakfast. The parchment was from her father, Nicholas, in a hurried, uncharacteristic scribble. The letter wasn't like the long ones her father wrote to her, but not short either. As her eyes moved back and forth reading, matching what must have been her father's pace of writing, the usual shine of her eyes started to fade. The news was what they all had always dreaded: her maternal grandmother's battle with advanced pancreatic cancer had reached its final stage. She was hospitalised in Barcelona, Spain, and the doctors estimated she had less than three weeks left.
Final exams were just around the corner, with pressure of the syllabus to complete and revision, but some things were more important than magic. Within 24 hours, Bea packed her trunk and left the Wizarding world behind to catch a flight to Spain with her parents.
The weeks that followed were hushed spanish whispers and final goodbyes within hospital walls, and Bea missed her end-of-term exams, causing her to pay an academic price by being held back a year. But she'd have chosen to do it a thousand times over to be there for her family when it mattered most.

Reason for Reapplication: Need to add to Ency that my character has dyslexiaXio's DyslexiaReducioLyra was the first one in the family to notice Xio's dyslexia, considering reading magical tomes and grimoires she collected as a hobby was a way for them to relate and spend "quality time" together. It did not take long to acknowledge that it took Xio extra time to read a passage, and that occasionally she would get stuck on a word or two (even though sometimes they were in Latin or a forgotten language so it wasn't 100% her fault). Lyra, being the 2nd oldest of the bundle, took it as her personal mission to address this "potential vulnerability" to the Arcana family. But unlike Kael, she did have a compassionate bone in her body. She understood that Xio had a wild but creative artistic side, she could use this to her advantage. Whenever Xio struggled on a passage about Potion preparation, or Spell pronunciation she would have Xio draw her notes on the subject. Instead of having Xio just try to memorize the entire recipe for a Herbicide potion word for word, she instead had her draw each of the ingredients in her own artistic style so she could differentiate and understand the importance between each one. Although Lyra was always busy with studies or extracurriculars, she always made time for Xio to admire her "Ingredient Town" which was a collage of drawn and colored-in various potion ingredients like Mistletoe Berries, Horned Slugs, and Lionfish. Additionally, she would often challenge Xio to a "spellcasting spelling bee" whenever she could catch her off guard.
"Did you remember to clear the bins?" "Yes." "Are you sure? I could've swo--How do you spell Tarantallegra?" "T-a-r-a-n-t-a...um...l-e-g-r-a?" "Bzzt, you missed a letter. T-a-r-a-n-t-a-l-l-e-g-r-a, Tarantallegra, penalty time, spell it 5 times fast now."
