Wizarding Towns Lore Drop: Russia & Bulgaria
Image
It is nearly impossible, by this point, to find a country that does not have its own wizarding settlement, and Russia is no exception. There are many small wizarding hamlets scattered around the country, and two of them that have grown into larger towns: Rasgorod (the Split City) and Martagorsk (Marta's Mountain). Similarly, in Bulgaria lies the major wizarding municipality Gorod Mrakov (the City of Darkness). As the major recruitment posts for Koldovstoretz and Durmstrang, these towns are held in high regard among the Eastern European Wizarding World.

You can read about these wizarding towns - their history, their government, their descriptions, their shopping districts, and even some RP hooks - in the newly dropped lore here.

It is about that time of the year. You survived yet another year in Hogwarts. For some this was done with relative ease while for others, there might have been more than one brush with death. As everyone embarks on their summer holiday, there is also a fair amount of moderation that also needs to happen. For those who have not made an Encyclopedia Page, please make one as soon as possible. You can find the character encyclopedia here.

To move up to next year, you need to satisfy 2 criteria:
1.) You must make a character encyclopedia and be on the official index [LINK] page before July 1.
2.) You must be registered on the site before July 1.

For those that do not wish to move up to the next year, perhaps they just joined the community recently and feel that they could get more out of being a first year until next year, please contact me and your HOH before July 1 or simply never make an encyclopedia page. (The former is a better idea, everyone should have a profile page that they can call theirs).

Common Questions:
1.) Do I need to complete all of my homework/classes before I move up to next year? No, the homework system is an optional system that you do not have to participate in. The homework system provides you and your House Points which may lead to some pride or some prizes. In addition, homework is also a source of potions and spells that you can learn for your character.

2.) Can I do last year's homework when I move up to next year? Yes you can. You do not earn house points for previous year homework, but you still earn the spells/potions.

3.) I just joined the site a week ago, can I graduate to next year? Yes, if you get yourself registered in Index before July 1st.

4.) I am already a second/third year, that means I must already be in Index right? No, not necessarily. We do biannual activity checks on player accounts. If you had not posted on the site in over 6 months, you may have been removed from Index. Why? We do this because we have to manually move players from one year to the next. This is a tedious process that is very time consuming and we have thousands of accounts. In addition, we want to reward players that are active with game progression. Please check the [INDEX] page and make sure that your name is listed. If not, please post in the Registration Thread

5.) I am still lost/confused. Is there a 'How to Guide' for this? This Link reviews everything we need for a player to Register to Index.

6.) Any additional considerations? Trunk Posts follow a standardized format (link) and only allow limited code. A Trunk Post is necessary to be registered in Index. Please follow these instructions otherwise they will not approve your trunk.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Being Held Back a Year

Image
All indexed users will be automatically graduated to the next year on or shortly after July 1. This is a manual process so this might take us a few days. So, this means that you will need to have your character Indexed by July 1 to graduate to the next year, otherwise they will be held back.

For players that wish to stay back a year, you do not need to be removed from Index (this is in fact a terrible idea), you just need to contact your Head of House and tell them that you wish to stay back the year. As it is possible that your Head of House might miss your message to them, feel free to add myself, Solomon Lear to this message. Players choose to stay back for many reasons, such as registering onto the site late in the year and wanting to "get the full year experience," having a friend join that they want to be the same year as, or because they feel this will fit their character. The only restriction to this is: if you have roleplayed in the school this year, we are not able to undo your existence here. You would have been here at those times.

For players that have been held back, we do offer them a chance to catch-up. This is called the Advancement Program, this is an opportunity for players that have been held back one or more years. Information on this program can be found here. This opens up to general users on July 1, however for players in their 6th year that should be graduating that have been held back, we are offering them this option early. They are free to apply starting on June 1 to catch up. The Advancement Program otherwise will be open to players from July 1 to August 31.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Changes to Werewolves

We are excited to announce an updated special race: werewolves. Previously werewolves had limited opportunities to fully utilize their special race/ability, something that should be central to their identity. This system also allows werewolf users the opportunity to have slightly different developmental paths and builds. While many of the major facets are the same, the minor differences will hopefully allow werewolves to find ways to stand out.

Old Werewolves
A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope, is a human being who, upon the complete rising of the full moon, becomes a fearsome and deadly werewolf. Werewolves appear in the form of a wolf but there are distinctions between them and regular wolves such as a shorter snout, more human-like eyes, the tufted tail, and their mindless hunting of humans whilst in wolf form. At all other times, they appear as normal humans, although they will age prematurely, and will gain a pallor as the moon approaches and then wanes. A werewolf cannot choose whether or not to transform and will no longer remember who they are and would kill even their best friend given the opportunity once transformed. Despite this, they are able to recall everything they have experienced throughout their transformation upon reverting to their human form. Werewolves hunt not only humans but also wildlife, both small and medium sized. The attacks made by werewolves look like that of a viscous animal attack.

Once bitten by a werewolf, survivors on the next full moon will transform into a beast that does not know right from wrong and actively hunts humans. So during a full moon a werewolf needs to either keep themselves locked up and isolated which may result in self-injury or the inadvertent injury of others or by consuming Wolfsbane Potion, which allows a werewolf to retain his or her human mind while transformed. As a final note, being bitten or scratched by a werewolf in their human form would not transmit the curse of lycanthropy.

How do we reconcile having werewolves at Hogwarts?
You are given wolfsbane to consume off-screen by a member of Hogwarts adult staff. (This can be the COMC Professor, Potions Professor, School Nurse, Head of House or a Headmaster). You are escorted to the shrieking shack during every full moon for the safety of your peers (As such you will be provided with a shrieking shack forum area to access). You are given wolfsbane to take home during any and all school vacations.

First Year: 30 stat points. Werewolf Form: Bite and Rend. Heightened Sense of Smell.
Werewolf Form

As a werewolf, during the night of a full-moon a lycanthrope transforms into a werewolf. Hogwarts manages werewolves by providing werewolves with the wolfsbane potion even during school vacations. In werewolf form the werewolf gains two attacks Rend and Bite.

Effect: Bites from a werewolf involve the werewolves strong, powerful jaws. Bites heal slowly, with difficulty. The bite does 50 + (strength x 10) in damage and cannot be healed the duration of the moderated event. This takes 1 full action to perform. In addition, this can pass on the curse of lycanthropy if the target is at least partially human.

Please see this announcement for more information on turning someone into a werewolf.

Effect: Rend from a werewolf involve the claws of a werewolf cutting into a target. Rends are long, sweeping attacks where the werewolves claws rip into the flesh of a target. This becomes an attack that can target a second random target if there is more than one person in the thread. This cannot be used to randomly target oneself. This does 50 + (strength x 10) in damage and effects a second target for the same damage automatically if there is more than one target in the immediate vicinity (same thread). This takes 1 full action to perform. In addition, this can pass on the curse of lycanthropy if the target is at least partially human.
The bite or the scratch of a werewolf is said to transmit lycanthropy. However in this community consent is a big part of the roleplay experience, you would be effectively forcing a change upon another user potentially damaging their experience. Please have posted on site documentation of their consent and please be aware that even with OC consent there will be IC consequences for this action. If a user is scratched or bit, their body will overcome the disease and they will survive. If the user chooses to allow this disease to take hold then their specialty race would become Lycanthrope rather than human or the specialty race they previously had and their stats and abilities would reflect this change. To clarify, a turned human in the 7th year would not earn additional abilities because they were turned on year 7, rather they would need to pick and choose what abilities they will have in addition to their lycanthrope skills.
Heightened Sense of Smell

Werewolves have a keen sense of smell, not powerful enough to serve as a bloodhound but strong enough to recognize that someone might be hidden in a room, such as someone using a cloak of invisibility or using an ability such as cat's grace

Effect: Through their sense of smell, a werewolf would recognize that someone has entered the room. They would not know where in the room, only that someone is in the room that does not belong and if they know the person (as defined as being in a thread where they have posted with this user 20 or more times), who. In addition they might be able to smell a fake. That is if they are familiar (as defined as being in a thread where they have posted with this user 20 or more times) with the person that someone has transformed into or the person who transformed, they would be able to recognize this fact. So if you make yourself look like Professor Lear, yet the werewolf knows your scent (or Professor Lear's), they would be able to identify who you are or that you are not the person that you claim to be.

Note: This can be used as a counter against users of the polyjuice potion, metamorphmagi that appear to be someone else, and charms that can be used to change one's appearance.
Second Year: 35 Stat points. May choose 1 special ability.

Third Year: 40 Stat points. Werewolf Form: +10% Damage. Tracking.
Werewolf Form: +10% Damage.

In werewolf form, your attacks do 10% additional damage.
Tracking

The wolf-like nature that courses through your veins starts to take hold during daytime hours. While unnoticeable to others, you gain lupine characteristics: keen eyesight and sense of smell. This can be used to track others. This is represented as a means by which to track someone that is hidden (by choice or otherwise). If you find a place where the desired user was in the last 24 hours (this would be both RP'd as IC and done within 24 OC of their post as well) and have an article that has their scent on it (such as an article of clothing), you can track the user by scent. This can be used to find a user in a private thread (but searching for the user must make sense).

Note: To prevent overuse, this is limited to once per month.
Fourth Year: 45 Stat points. May choose 1 special ability.

Fifth Year: 50 Stat points. Wolf's Cry. Wolf's Grace.
Wolf's Cry

During the night, when in the form of a wolf, the werewolf gains wolf's cry.

Effect:: This can be used to summon (takes 3 rounds to arrive) other werewolves to your topic. This could be used to summon help in a moderated event situation for instance. If you are in a locked space, they might not be at your side, but they would be nearby for instance and know that you are inside.
Wolf's Grace

As a human, your predatory abilities start to bloom. Your ability to stalk others grows and you have the ability to enter threads hidden from other users.

Effect: There is a 25% chance of being able to successfully enter threads hidden from other users. You would no longer be considered hidden if you attempt to communicate or you interact with the environment in any ways (such as trying to steal something or hit someone). On any stealth checks, you have a +2 to your stealth.

Note: This can be countered by those with Sixth Sense where if you enter the topic successfully hidden, they get a roll to see if they detect you anyways. This can also be combined with the ability cat's grace where if you have cat's grace, users with Sixth Sense do not get to attempt to detect you anyways. Otherwise this ability would stack on top of Cat's Grace (so a total of +4 to your stealth rather than +2 and a 50% chance of entering the thread in stealth rather than 25%).
Sixth Year: 55 Stat points. May choose 1 special ability.

Seventh Year: 60 Stat points. Intimidation.
Intimidation

As an adult who has likely endured years of transformations as well as the effects of the wolfsbane, as adolescence wanes you notice that you have developed some slightly lupine features. Increased body hair that is thicker and coarser than normal and eyes that seem distinctly wolf-like, perhaps even predatory. These features are not readily noticeable to the casual observer, the glint in ones eye for instance yet this feral nature lies just beneath a placid, normal-seeming surface.

Effect: Gain Intimidation which is a passive effect that accompanies your presence. Unlike a Dhampir's Unsettling Aura that can be turned off and on at will, this cannot but this is not an 'aura' but rather a sentiment that enters people's hearts when they are in your presence. They feel dis-ease when you are present, even if the interaction is casual or even friendly. This is reflected by a -1 accuracy and a +1 critical failure chance for all those around you (friend or foe).

Note: This effect does not take place if the players in the thread are not aware of your presence, so if you entered an instance under stealth they would not be effected by this.

Werewolves

A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope, is a person, either full or part human who, upon the complete rising of the full moon, becomes a fearsome and deadly werewolf. Werewolves appear in the form of a wolf but there are distinctions between them and regular wolves such as a shorter snout, more human-like eyes, the tufted tail, occasional bipedal, other times quadrupedal posture and their mindless hunting of humans whilst in wolf form. At all other times, they appear as normal humans, although they will age prematurely, occasionally take on more wolf-like physical traits in human form over time and will gain a pallor as the moon approaches and then wanes.

Werewolves are perceived as dangerous creatures with a condition that is outside of their control. Many werewolves cannot choose whether or not to transform and will no longer remember who they are and would kill even their best friend given the opportunity once transformed. Despite this, werewolves are able to recall everything they have experienced throughout their transformation upon reverting to their human form. Werewolves hunt not only humans but also wildlife, both small and medium sized. The attacks made by werewolves look like that of a viscous animal attack.

Once a person is bitten or scratched by a werewolf in werewolf form, survivors on the next full moon will transform into a beast that does not know right from wrong and actively hunts humans. Being bitten or scratched by a werewolf in their human form does not transmit the curse of lycanthropy.

In 2026 a potion was developed that can prevent the transmission of lycanthropy to human werewolf attack survivors known as Nightroot Elixir. However, Nightroot Elixir has a short shelf-life and needs to be administered promptly to be effective, so this potion has only had a minor effect on werewolf propagation but has reduced liability for establishments that house known werewolves. Werewolves continue to be dangerous, so during a full moon a werewolf needs to either keep themselves locked up and isolated which may result in self-injury or the inadvertent injury of others or by consuming the Wolfsbane Potion, which allows a werewolf to retain his or her human mind while transformed.

How do we reconcile having werewolves at Hogwarts?
Werewolf students and staff are given Wolfsbane by a member of Hogwarts adult staff the week of the full moon. A stock of Wolfsbane is maintained by the Care of Magical Creatures Professor, Potions Professor, School Nurse, all Heads of House and the Headmaster. On the night of the full moon, werewolves are escorted to the Shrieking Shack by the Grounds Keeper, Caretaker, Head of House, Professor of Care of Magical Creatures or Headmaster. Light god-modding, such as stating that you were given the potion off-screen or taken to the Shrieking Shack by one of these characters is allowed, but please do not add details such as statements, attitudes or expressions by one of these characters. This is not allowed without explicit permission from the staff writer. Students are made to remain indoors on nights of the full moon for their safety and patrols are more vigorous on these nights to ensure the safety of the student and staff body.

When students go home for summer vacation or holiday, they are sent with an appropriate supply of Wolfsbane.
Wolfsbane
Nightroot Elixir
‣ Does not cure lycanthropy.
‣ Allows the werewolf to remain mentally lucid during transformation.
‣ Prevents the loss of control and violent, predatory behavior.
‣ Enables the transformed individual to isolate safely without harming others.
‣ Without this potion, a transformed werewolf becomes highly dangerous, losing all human reasoning.
‣ Must be taken daily for a week leading up to the full moon.
‣ Requires precise, expert-level brewing (mistakes render it useless).
‣ Is rare and difficult to produce, limiting widespread access.
‣ Missing even a single dose can compromise its effectiveness.
‣ Functions as a post-exposure preventative.
‣ Halts the onset of lycanthropy if administered within 2 hours of injury.
‣ Neutralizes the magical contagion carried through bites or scratches.
‣ Stabilizes the victim’s condition, preventing transformation during the next full moon.
‣ If successful, the individual remains fully human, with no lingering curse.
‣ Has a short shelf-life, rapidly degrading after preparation.
‣ Requires careful cultivation and extraction from a rare carnivorous plant.
‣ Often limited to facilities such as Hogwarts or St. Mungos.
Skill Tree
Year 1
Reducio

Lycanthropy is not a born condition, it is the result of a werewolf attack where the human victim survived the attack but sustained an injury. An injury from a werewolf is life-threatening, many victims bleed out, but this is prevented with the administration of powdered silver and dittany to the wound. While their life was saved and a scar remains, a curse has been transmitted to them and upon the complete rising of the full moon, they will become an uncontrollable, fearsome and deadly wolf.

This transformation can be prevented if the victim is injected with Nightroot Elixir within 2 hours of injury, but this potion is expensive, rare and often only stocked in hospitals and facilities where there is a risk of lycanthropic injury.
Applying for a Werewolf:
1. Describe the circumstances whereby your character was attacked by a werewolf.
2. Describe how/why your character survived the werewolf attack. It will be assumed that whatever happened, it took more than 2 hours to get to a place where your character could access the Nightroot Elixir.
3. Describe where your scar is located - this cannot be healed by magic.
4. Describe your first transformation on the next full moon: pick either the Gaunt Form or the Wolf Form.
5. Note: Due to the fact that a cure exists, storylines where families purposefully infect themselves when they 'come of age' is a viable storyline.
Image

All werewolves gain the following:
1. Access to the Shrieking Shack Forum
2. Choice of werewolf form:
A. Gaunt Form: Gaunt, bipedal form with long limbs and often a slick, dark coat. (Example: Remus Lupin)
B. Wolf Form: Nearly indistinguishable from a wolf, with subtle human-like features such as a shorter snout, human-like eyes, and a tufted, bushy tail. (Example: Fenrir Greyback)
3. The following 3 actions:
A. Werewolf Transformation: On the night of the full moon, a werewolf automatically transforms, taking on either the Gaunt Form or the Wolf Form. This is considered the state of the werewolf for the duration of the thread, costing 0 action points (AP). While in this transformed state, the lycanthrope is not able to cast spells (even with wandless magic) but can receive (not send) messages through their binding mark. They do not have access to any of their abilities or passives (unless they are specific to werewolves) while in their Gaunt Form or Wolf Form.
B. Bite: Can only be performed in gaunt or wolf form. Bites from a werewolf involve the werewolves strong, powerful jaws. Bites heal slowly, with difficulty. A bite does 50 + (strength x 10) in damage and cannot be healed the duration of the moderated event. This takes 1 full action to perform. In addition, this can pass on the curse of lycanthropy if the target is at least partially human.

Rend Can only be performed in gaunt or wolf form. Rend from a werewolf involves the claws of a werewolf cutting into a target.
Transmission of Lycanthropy

The bite or the scratch of a werewolf is said to transmit lycanthropy. A cure was invented by Hogwarts Potions Master Lesmana Asmaralaya in 2026 from a rare carnivorous plant that he has cultivated over the last decade. When injected into a recently bitten or scratched person within 2 hours, transformation into a werewolf can be prevented.
Managing Players that Contract Lycanthropy from Other Players

This is a consent-oriented community, meaning that no player can force your character to become a werewolf without your out of character consent. The in-character circumstances may vary. However, if you wish to be transformed into a werewolf through an in-character interaction with another player in gaunt or wolf form and you have sustained an injury, you can apply for lycanthrope with your next new ability.
Things to know :
1. To start in this community as a special race, such as lycanthrope, you must apply in the first 30 days.
2. To be turned into a lycanthrope by another player character, this can occur after your first 30 days on site and this requires an in-character interaction with this other user in gaunt or wolf form that results in an injury to your character that is not treated within 2 hours with Nightroot Elixir.
3. In this in-character thread, the context of what happened and why needs to be explained and the interaction resulting in the injury needs to be roleplayed. You also need to explain how your character survived the injury and why they were not able to get treatment to prevent becoming a werewolf in time.
4. In-character actions may have in-character consequences. Consider this if a player character is transforming yours, they may face criminal charges (refer to the Azkaban System) or expulsion from Hogwarts.
5. If a user is already a special race, such as a part-Veela, they can still also be a werewolf, but they will not be able to pick abilities for a long time. Essentially, the odd years would be their special race or ability (such as part-Giant or Parselmouth) and the even years would be werewolf. If someone is transformed in their later years, the werewolf abilities do not override their previous abilities, but rather their year 1 ability would be the next year's ability they can access. So if this happened year 6 and they have a 6th year ability, their year 7 ability would be year 1 werewolf and not effect their year 2, 4 and 6 abilities.

Year 3
Reducio
Some werewolves take on more animalistic traits in their human form, finding the ability to temporarily repress their terrible, cursed form. While others embrace their animalistic half, learning how to control out of phase.

Pick One - Enhanced Human or Out of Phase Lycanthrope
Enhanced Human
Out of Phase Lycanthrope
Heightened Sense of Smell
Werewolves have a keen sense of smell, not powerful enough to serve as a bloodhound but strong enough to recognize that someone might be hidden in a room, such as someone using a cloak of invisibility or using an ability such as cat's grace.

Effect: Through their sense of smell, a werewolf would recognize that someone has entered the room. They would not know where in the room, only that someone is in the room that does not belong and if they know the person (as defined as being in a one-on-one thread where they have posted with this user). In addition they might be able to smell an imposter. That is if they are familiar with the person that someone else has transformed into (as defined as being in a one on one thread where they have posted with this user); or the person who transformed, they would be able to recognize this fact. So if you make yourself look like Headmaster Lear, yet the werewolf knows your scent (or Headmaster Lear's), they would be able to identify who you are or that you are not the person that you claim to be.

Note: This can be used as a counter against users of the Polyjuice Potion, Metamorphmagi that appear to be someone else, and charms that can be used to change one's appearance.

This is represented as a means by which to track someone that is hidden (by choice or otherwise). If you find a place where the desired user was in the last 24 hours (this would be both roleplayed as in-character and done within 24 out of character hours of their post as well) and have an article that has their scent on it (such as an article of clothing), you can track the user by scent. This can be used to find a user in a private thread (but searching for the user must make sense).
Out of Phase Lycanthrope
The werewolf gains the ability to transform at will. In either Gaunt Form or the Wolf Form, the wizard is not able to cast magic (even with wandless magic) but they can receive (not send) messages through their binding mark. They do not have access to any of their abilities or passives (unless they are specific to werewolves) while in their Gaunt Form or Wolf Form. However, as an Out of Phase Lycanthrope, the werewolf maintains their awareness and their human mind in their transformed form.

Effect: It takes 1 action point (AP) to transform. This can happen 1 time per thread. The werewolf transforms into their Gaunt Form or Wolf Form regardless of the time of day or phase of the moon. Wolfsbane Potion is not required to maintain their human mind and awareness.
Felled Beast
When transformed out of phase, this willful transformation gives some werewolves a second chance to end the fight with human hands.

Effect: When transformed into their Gaunt Form or Wolf Form using the Out of Phase Lycanthrope skill, if the werewolf hit points (HP) reach 0 or less, rather than immediately being knocked out, the lycanthrope reverts back to their human form at the START of the next round with 1 hit point (HP) remaining. If while in their human form their hit points (HP) reach 0 or less, they will be rendered unconscious.

Year 5
Reducio
As a werewolf matures, those that allow themselves to focus on their lycanthrope form find power within their pack. Whereas those that endeavor to maintain their humanity as much as possible, find that transformative forces are less effective on them.

Pick One - Embracing the Wolf Pack or Humanity Held
Embracing the Wolf Pack
Humanity Held
Wolf's Cry
When in Gaunt Form or Wolf Form, the werewolf gains wolf's cry.

Effect: This can be used to summon (takes 3 rounds to arrive) other werewolves to the werewolf's topic. This could be used to summon help in a moderated event situation for instance. If the werewolf is in a locked space, these summoned werewolves might not be at their packmate's side, but they would be nearby for instance and know that their pack member is inside.

Moonspeak
Werewolves while in their Gaunt Form or Wolf Form have a means of silent communication with other werewolves in their Gaunt Form or Wolf Form that are nearby.

Effect: If in the same thread as another werewolf in their Gaunt Form or Wolf Form, these werewolves can silently communicate with one another while in the same thread. This is not mind-reading, this is telepathic two-way (if both have the ability) or one way (if one has the ability) communication.
Wolf's Grace
As a human, your predatory abilities start to bloom. Your ability to stalk others grows and you have the ability to enter threads hidden from other users.

Effect: There is a 25% chance of being able to successfully enter threads hidden from other users. You would no longer be considered hidden if you attempt to communicate or you interact with the environment in any way (such as trying to steal something or hit someone). On any stealth checks, you have a +2 to your stealth.

Note: This can be countered by those with Sixth Sense where if you enter the topic successfully hidden, they get a roll to see if they detect you anyways. This is also countered by other werewolves with the Heightened Sense of Smell skill. This can also be combined with the ability Cat's Grace where if you have Cat's Grace, users with Sixth Sense do not get to attempt to detect the user anyways. Otherwise this ability would stack on top of Cat's Grace (so a total of +4 to your stealth rather than +2 and a 50% chance of entering the thread in stealth rather than 25%).
Transformative Resilience
The desire to remain human becomes almost instinctual.

Effect: Advantage on any transfiguration spells in terms of evasion or resistance.

Year 7
Reducio
The long-term ramifications of this curse become apparent. While some become a lone wolf, others find a sense of community with their kin.

Pick One - Intimidation or Member of the Pack
Intimidation
Member of the Pack
As an adult who has likely endured years of transformations as well as the effects of the Wolfsbane, as adolescence wanes these lycanthropes often notice that they have developed some lupine features even in their human form. Increased body hair that is thicker and coarser than normal and eyes that seem distinctly wolf-like, perhaps even predatory in the face of what should be an adult man or woman. These features are not always readily noticeable to the casual observer as wolf-like, but often this uncanny likeness would be recognized by one upon simple mention.

Effect: Gain Intimidation which is a passive effect that accompanies the werewolf's presence. Unlike a Dhampir's Unsettling Aura that can be turned off and on at will, this cannot but this is not an 'aura' but rather a sentiment that enters people's hearts when they are in the presence of a werewolf with an Intimidating presence. Others feel dis-ease when such a person is present, even if the interaction is casual or even friendly. This is reflected by a -1 accuracy and a +1 critical failure chance for all those around the werewolf (friend or foe).

Note: This effect does not take place if the players in the thread are not aware of the werewolf's presence, so if the werewolf entered a thread in stealth, the players in that thread would not be affected by this until they became aware of the werewolf.
As an adult who has likely spent years with their fellow pack members or fellow werewolves, as adolescence wanes these werewolves notice that they have an undeniable bond with their fellow wolves. Those years on the hunt together each full moon for the past several years has been imprinted on their hearts.

Effect: Gain Member of the Pack which is a passive effect that accompanies their presence. For every fellow werewolf in the thread with the werewolf (this does not include themselves) they gain a +1 to a stat of choice (does not stack). So if there are 4 werewolves in the same thread as a werewolf with the Member of the Pack skill, they can place 1 point in accuracy, stamina, strength and evasion.
On years 3, 5, and 7 the user states which skillset they prefer when updating their abilities in their trunk.

Homework Update

Homework has now been cleared!

As we prepare to advance students to the next school year over the next few days, please be aware that we cannot guarantee House Points for homework completed in your current year from this point forward.

You will still receive any spells or potions awarded by the lesson as normal. However, if your character is promoted before the House Point automation processes your submission, those House Points may not be awarded.

If your primary goal is to earn House Points, we recommend waiting until your character has been promoted to the next school year before completing additional lessons.

Thank you for your patience as we work through year-end promotions!

Index Registration Reminder

If you intend to advance to Second Year with the current First Year class on (or within a few days of) July 1, please make sure your character is registered with Index as soon as possible.

If you have a pending Index application, please complete any requested edits promptly. Applications submitted before the deadline and actively being worked on with a validator are generally given a brief grace period to complete validation.

If you have not yet started your Index application, now is the time. After June 30, we cannot guarantee that your character will advance with the rest of the class.

If you have any questions about the process, feel free to reach out to a staff member—we're happy to help!
