"I know this one's going to be rough, but I have money on this match and if we lose I go bankrupt and the financial ruin will force me to resign from captaincy in tears and spend my remaining years sourcing additional income, so please make a genuine attempt at winning." That had been Mamori's parting contribution to team morale on the way out of the locker room, spoken in a single exhalation with the number of pauses taken exactly equals to the number of commas in that sentence (to say, very few), and with a particular blend of sincerity and something else he couldn't quite name. "Also try not to be too aggressive with that Athanatos." Not the same Athanatos from the last Slytherin match, who had been a younger son and therefore largely someone else's problem. This one had been a different surname entirely up until last year and Mamori, upon some simple searching, had found the heir's wife staring back at him, which was a sufficiently good reason to tell his team to keep it civil. All of which was secondary to the ten Galleons he had riding on this match with @Damien Dragonclaw, which in hindsight was a deeply asymmetric transaction. To a trust fund kid 10G was probably rounding error on his monthly allowance, whereas for Mamori any sum extracted from his person felt biologically equivalent to losing a limb, including 1 Knut. Five days prior he had briefly believed himself to be a genius. The plan was to head to the underground market and throw ten Galleons on Ravenclaw, so that if Hufflepuff lost he'd collect enough to cover the original bet and walk away having spent nothing net. He had been one wrist-flick away from placing this wager when someone informed him of the odds: Ravenclaw at 1.80, Hufflepuff at 2.12. The market had looked him dead in the eye and explained, in the clearest possible terms, what it thought of Hufflepuff's chances; those chances translated to odds that meant a winning Ravenclaw bet still wouldn't get him anywhere near twenty Galleons. The beautiful hedging strategy quietly expired before it had even properly existed. He had stared at those numbers for a moment and then, in a fit of pique he had not entirely noticed having, thrown the 10G into the Hufflepuff pool instead. Net loss if they lost was now 20G, categorically the worst financial decision of his entire thirteen years of life, and there was no way to say that out loud without sounding like a captain who had given up on his own team. The pink-haired captain looked up at an aggressively, offensively clear sky, the kind of perfect Quidditch weather that would apparently persist for the next several days, ruling out any possibility of praying for a downpour violent enough to rattle the other team's concentration. Not even that avenue was available to him. Mamori exhaled, adjusted his goggles, put on the expression of a man walking into the worst match of his season, and kicked off.

The Ravenclaws had always been a strong team, practically impossible to beat with their several experienced players. The sunshine and light breeze of May helped, far less precarious from her previous matches. Alongside Anezaki's betting joke, the air seemed light. With this being the last game of the season, Sage was hopeful the Ravenclaws wouldn't massacre them like usual. Her team had luck in their last matches and she'd been practicing as much as possible. Sage kept one hand drawn steadily on her broom, the other latched onto her bat like a lifeline while she waited for the match to start.

It was the last game of the season and Winnie had to remind herself not to get emotional. Which was easier said than done, considering this would be the last time she'd be soaring through the Quidditch Stadium with Aly... Dangit. She felt the telltale prickle of tears and quickly used the sleeve of her uniform to wipe them away. They would just have to win this last match, for Aly. For Jorah.

Reducio

In the role of Chaser when you attempt to catch a passed Quaffle (such as when the Keeper has possession of the Quaffle and passes it to a teammate) you have advantage (meaning that it is rolled twice and you keep the better option) on attempts to catch if the opponent team attempts to intercept.

In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

In the role of Chaser, if you have a contested quaffle grab and a contested strength roll between yourself and another user is in progress, unless they have the same broom, you would be the victor of the contested quaffle grab. In addition, rounds where you are successfully carrying the quaffle in an attempt to score, you only take half-damage from bludgers and blatching attempts.

Ophelia faced the sunny skies, letting the breeze blow gently at her hair. The usually loose brown curls were up in a ponytail once again for a Quidditch match, though she really hoped that she wouldn't have to play this one. That was a regular sentiment that she thought about, and it always came to pass, but this time it was extra special. The Ravenclaw captain, also known as their first bench seeker, was a seventh year. That meant this was her last game. Ophelia wanted her to be able to play the whole thing through, and win it too. They were on a good streak so far, and this game shouldn't be an exception.

She just hoped she hadn't jinxed it.

Finally, the times has come. With his Nimbus in hand, Andy watched the surroundings of this warm day on the Quidditch Field. Hufflepuff versus Ravenclaw. Of course, the view from the bench is great, it would be nice to actually play, but the game is just about to start, so who knows? Maybe this game will be just like Andy's first, when he came in right away when the first string keeper got hit by a Bludger. That game was amazing, and Andy as the keeper, actually scored more than some of the other field players! That game was an amazing debut! Let's go Ravenclaw! We can do this! Andy yelled over to the starters. It felt so good to hear Andy's name on the speakers! It felt like such an honor! Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get these games underway!

The weather this time around was a stark difference to what it had been during the Hufflepuffs' last match. The sun lit up the blue sky, and the light breeze was the only thing stopping Pam's head from sweating itself bare.

Pam tried to not panic and lose her mind as they got on their brooms. Their pink-haired captain's words of wisdom had done little to ease her tension. Unless his goal had been to make her consider smacking his face or her own just to reset her brain.

Mamori would've probably not appreciated either.

She could do this. It was totally fine. Perfectly fine. Pam was gonna be fine. She'd be fine.

She was freaking out.

Her dad would have told her to breathe.

Or stop overthinking.

Or maybe both. Probably both.

Pam exhaled slowly, like that might actually change anything, and nudged her broom forward.
