Even amidst the wintry mix that would batter the gear of the players who entered, that would bump against the murmured Pluvia Velos of spectators, people still wanted to see wizards' most famous game: Quidditch.Link to Quidditch System: viewtopic.php?t=7504
Quidditch would be nothing without its famous players. Everyone knew that! Students leaned forward in the stands, eyes peeled, to wait for the glamorous introductions of today's players.
There were a few taps.
Then: 'Is this thing on?'
Then, finally: 'Okay, here we go. Ladies and gentlemen! Wizards, witches and wix alike! Thank you for braving this wintry storm to watch the riveting Ravenclaws and the gallant Gryffindors! Who will win, who will win...?'
As the players entered the pitch in blurs of blue and red, the clouds ahead decided it was fine time to spit out some freezing rain. It would patter against the players' gear and likely be a proper nuisance for the spectators peering on from the stands. Anyone trying to pair Omnioculars with a scarf would likely be seeing through foggy lenses; anyone wearing glasses would surely have it worse.
'Right. On team Ravenclaw, we've got... drumroll, please... Charlie Jacobsen at the hoops; Athanatos, Brook and Greymond vying for the Quaffle; Moussa and Vetra with the bats; and team captain Aly Salinger searching for the Snitch. Looks like Damien Dragonclaw, Ophelia Northwell, Mikey Forville and captain Aston Beckett will be cheering them on from below!'
Some whooping echoed from the stands. A smattering of applause was muffled by mittens.
'And for the Gryffindors, Kora Eliot will be guarding the hoops, with Holista, Montgomery and Everhart playing Chaser. Captains Zhang and Smith, Beaters. And Aodhan Shaw is playing Seeker. Cheering them on from below are Oonagh Brown, Avery Gray, Frederick Buckley and Alphonse Toussaint.'
The freezing rain would stop for a few moments and then pick up in intensity. A frigid breeze whipped across the pitch.
'Alright, everyone, places! And those in the stands, don't forget to cheer on your favourite team!'
Then, the whistle would blow, and the game would begin.

Aly was still riding high after her team's win over Slytherin, the first since her third year at Hogwarts, even though it had happened months before. Lately she'd been pushing the Ravenclaw Quidditch members to train harder, longer, earlier in the morning, later at night; if there was one thing that was clear to her in her rather complex life right now, it was that she wanted to win. Not just the games, but the Cup. Before that, though, there were still Gryffindor and Hufflepuff to take on, and today's opponent was none other than the former. Aly was more than aware that what Slytherin was to Ravenclaw, her own team was to Gryffindor; the eagles had taken down the lions every year that Aly could remember. As such, she knew that the scarlet and gold would be more determined than ever to take down the blue and bronze, which she informed her team in the pre-game pep talk before taking the field. They had to really give this game their all, and not become complacent just because they had one win under their belts this season.
Atop her trusty Oakshaft, the captain took to the air and began a solitary lap around the field before the whistle blew. A handshake, the Quaffle in the sky, and all of a sudden, the second match of the year had begun. Time to play...

Quinn smiled despite the cold conditions. Even though the forecast predicted freezing rain Quinn was still happy to be at the quidditch pitch. Quidditch was so much fun and Quinn loved playing. She had been playing since she was a little girl and it was always fun to play at school. Quinn grabbed her broomstick and happily marched onto the field. The girl looked towards the sky as she mounted her Silver Arrow and launched upwards. It was painted a very desolate shade of grey, a colour complemented by clouds tinted yet a darker grey and large droplets of rain. Ebony was not usually against the rain nor the cold -- in fact, a chilly drizzle was probably the optimal weather. Be one with the cold, she would say. The rain today however thundered onto her robes like icy pellets, flattening her hair such that it was slick against her skull. The match hadn't even started yet and she was sure she already appeared somewhat battered. What a nuisance. The squalls of wind showed no signs of stopping soon and her excitement was slightly dampened, some effects of her captain's pre-game pep talk wearing off already.
Amidst the wind and rain, the beater surveyed their opponents -- the red smattered among the blue. Despite the rather discouraging weather, Ebony was sure that victory was imminent.

It was finally the day. Avery couldn't believe she was finally competing in her third official match. Though she was still not the best Seeker on the team nor was her team doing well, They were officially on a losing streak, and Avery hoped to change that streak. Maybe this would be their lucky day?
The moment Avery heard what team she was playing she froze. Mikey. Mikey was on the opposing team. What was she going to do if it came down to both of them on the field and she was forced to knock him off his broom? No. She couldn't think like that. She just had to hope that she wouldn't have to do anything to him.

| —— | veni, vidi, vici, city lights, avicii get to it if it please me, nothing worth doing's easy ━━ summary, this thread is happening on FEBRUARY 7TH, 2026 in the MORNING with THE QUIDDITCH TEAM / wc: 171. With his hand gripped tight against his Silver Arrow, Harlan had vendetta to make up against Ravenclaw in the form of last Spring when the Broom Racing team humiliated the team and that Aly Salinger, tiny bully of a Seeker, had pressed her wand tip against the tender flesh of his neck when he was trying to ask one of her friends a question. Harlan had done his research, the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team were favorited to win the cup with their Seventh Years in prime positions to carry their team to victory. Most people had felt that Gryffindor had been rebuilding their team and would surely be an easy win for the birds. Well, not if Harlan and the rest of the team could help it. Kicking off the pitch, the fourth year Chaser rose into the air with his eyes locked on and his attitude galvanized to give Ravenclaw a run for their money. If they wanted this win, they'd have to grab it out of Harlan's vengeful little fingers.

The stadium entrance never got old. Avis soared in with the rest of the players, just one splotch of blue in a cloud of Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. The second year's chest puffed out involuntarily at the announcement of her name and she beamed, only to get slapped harshly in the face but a particularly cold gust of wind. Avis winced, swerving to a stop to finish pulling her gloves on. Lowering her goggles, the Ravenclaw gave the sky above a dubious glance. Supposedly there was a forecast for freezing rain, which was hell to fly through, but the players warming up across the pitch didn't have the luxury to worry about the weather. They all had a game to win.
With that in mind, Avis swooped in to start her own warmup, doing her best to ignore the chill.

As soon as Charlie woke up and noticed the cold, rainy weather she knew today was going to be something else. It had been raining off and on, and when Charlie and the other Ravenclaws stepped on to the pitch, she shivered before mounting her silver arrow. She was nervous as usual, but told herself to focus up and lock in.

The freezing rain felt like needles against Winnie's skin. She had tried to bundle up, had shoved her feet into two pairs of socks, extra leggings, an extra sweater, but the cold winter air still nipped.
She was also sore. It was clear to her that Aly wanted them to win the cup, but hadn't they tried the last two years? Lavinia, Cec... They all wanted to go out in a blaze of glory, and Aly likely wanted the same. Winnie couldn't blame her for that. Still, the thought of her friends leaving Hogwarts made her heart clench.

ReducioIn the role of Chaser when you attempt to catch a passed Quaffle (such as when the Keeper has possession of the Quaffle and passes it to a teammate) you have advantage (meaning that it is rolled twice and you keep the better option) on attempts to catch if the opponent team attempts to intercept.
In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.
Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.
In the role of Chaser, if you have a contested quaffle grab and a contested strength roll between yourself and another user is in progress, unless they have the same broom, you would be the victor of the contested quaffle grab. In addition, rounds where you are successfully carrying the quaffle in an attempt to score, you only take half-damage from bludgers and blatching attempts.

With wind whipping in one's face and the speed of the brooms to account for, it seemed like an absolutely miserable idea to go up there. But these things were scheduled events, and they couldn't move it simply because the weather decided not to cooperate. It was for that reason that the Northwell found herself on the Quidditch pitch that day, along with the rest of her teammates.
