What is your character's greatest strength?
Lottie is ambitious. She may struggle, but she will not quit until something is completed to its fullest, be it a paper for class or her own desires in life. She is also notably intelligent.
What is your character's greatest weakness?
Lottie is an overthinker, but is clueless when it comes to finding help. She has major trust issues and constantly fears that those she gets close with will just leave her behind, so she keeps to herself. Despite this, she hates being alone. A bit of a paradox.
What is your character's best and worst memory?
Lottie's best memory is attending the theater with her sister when she was very little. Her worst memory is the morning after her sister left.
What is your character's biggest fear?
Her muggle literature and connections being discovered by her mother. Also, being alone.
How would others describe your character?
Peculiar, a bit distant, not quite of this world. Beautiful but socially unattractive, though put-together in a trained sort of way.
What is your character's most prized possession?
Aside from her books, her letters. She keeps every single letter she has received. Also, the camera her sister gifted her this year.
What is your character's deepest insecurity?
Her childishness. She has a hard time grappling with the fact that she is not yet 100% mature, and whenever this juvenile nature bleeds through, she is immediately embarrassed.
What motivates your character?
A desire to get out. She dreams of finally being away from her mother and the weight of guilt that comes with her family's reputation.
What angers your character?
Her own short-comings. Every failure rattles her, and she constantly gets on herself about not meeting her full potential.
What makes your character happy?
True community. Feeling as though she is a part of something, being included despite her differences. Also, reading, spending time outside, having educated conversations, etc.
What does your character like about themself?
She likes her intelligence. She also likes her beauty, though that is mostly rooted in that being the single trait her mother would praise her for as a child.
How is your character's relationship with their family?
Very complicated. Lots of toxic co-dependence and unspoken apologies. They seem to exist within their own system of understanding.
Is your character susceptible to peer pressure?
Somewhat. She's aways been a follower, but it manifests itself differently in different settings.
What annoys your character the most?
Inefficiency.

Character Questionnaire
Azrael Holloway
Food: Garlic bread/lasagna
Color: baby blue
Flower: White baneberry
Drink: apple juice
Song: "Rises the moon" by, Liana Flores.
Hobby: collecting trinkets of any kind, regardless of how weird they are.
Type of Clothing: vintage goth
Animal: Tarsiidae (there's a specific feature they share)
Weather: cold, stormy, preferably dark.
Season: winter
What is your character's greatest strength?: Being emotionally intelligent, to the point where he always knows when someone's struggling.
What is your character's biggest fear?:Losing his family, they're very close knit and have always been.
How would others describe your character?: calm, eerie, sometimes "creepy", strange, stoic.
What is your character's most prized possession?: His umbrella, he takes it EVERYWHERE (even indoors), you will never see him without it ever. https://i.postimg.cc/MT18HRxv/there_is_ ... _59204.jpg
What motivates your character?: Finding dark, cold places to exist in regardless of where he is.
What angers your character?: ANY type of unjustified cruelty.
What makes your character happy?: slightly Burnt broccoli with butter, his pet owl Ravenna and his parents.
What does your character like about themself?: despite the unease it might bring other people (because of how big and unblinking they are), Azrael likes his eyes.
How is your character's relationship with their family?: incredibly close knit, the type of family that anyone feels safe and at peace in.
Is your character susceptible to peer pressure?: Nope, not at all, not even 1%, if he doesn't want to do something he won't do it regardless of what you tell him.
What annoys your character the most? the sunlight and the heat, he'd be happy in a world of eternal darkness.
Describe your character's accent: straight up deadpan 24/7 with a tiny hint of a British accent (only there if you squint hard enough).
Describe your character's "tell" for lying: He won't speak to you, he won't tell you he'll stop speaking- he straight up just goes silent and unblinkingly stares at you until you leave, if Azrael lies (which he almost never does) it's always because he believes it's the best possible thing he can do with no other way out.
Describe your character's mannerisms/habits: He'll randomly appear behind you because he's quiet on his feet, he stares blankly (more so than usual) when he spaces out, he's very blunt and will not lie to you if you ask him anything at all.
Describe your character's typical first impression: Eerie boy standing behind you after crawling out of the void type of feeling.
Describe your character's morning/nightly routine: when he's home, he sleeps all day just like his parents, maybe gets up once or twice during the morning and then goes right back to bed- at night, he goes on nightly walks with his mother, attends nighttime activities in nearby towns with his family, decorates rocks with his father (with paint, buttons, etc, they scatter them in the yard) and has staring competitions with Ravenna- when he's in Hogwarts? He gets up early, studies a bit before breakfast, attends his classes, takes a nap when he can and at night he goes out (before curfew) with Ravenna to allow her to fly around for a bit before bed, he finds new small, cold and dark places to hang out in, and has more staring competitions with Ravenna.
Describe the contents of your character's bag: A white handkerchief and a small bag filled with berries he sometimes snacks on... that's it, he doesn't carry anything else with him, really (apart from his umbrella).

⋆⋆⋆II. questions
what is your character's greatest strength?
not caring what people think about her
what is your character's greatest weakness?
awful at reading body language/knowing how to respond to people in difficult situations
what is your character's best and worst memory?
her best memory started out kind of strange. it was in iceland when she was 8. as she and xhosa walked to the store one evening, she noticed a boy of at least 19 behind a dumpster trying to force a drink into the mouth of another boy who was maybe 14. paris didnt even think before storming up behind the older boy. xhosa called after her, not having seen what she was doing, but she pretended not to hear him as she kicked the older boys legs out from under him and then his face before smashing the bottle on his head (he was knocked unconscious). the younger boy looked at her fearfully, but paris only dusted off his jacket, nodded, and walked away. xhosa ran over just as she was leaving and stopped short, examining what his reckless sister must have done. then he laughed, and paris held back a smile. xhosa hugged her and she pretended not to care. he told her he was proud of her but to not tell mum and paris rolled her eyes but her heart warmed at the thought of a secret from mom to share with xhosa. she had never expected this reaction, but it was better than she could ever hope for. she would never tell xhosa that.
one of her first (and worst) memories (taking place when they lived in ghana) also became a reason for a distinctive behaviour of hers later in life. returning to their designated meeting spot after retrieving grapefruits, 4 year old paris turns in confusion. where did her dad go? she weaves behind stalls and people, finally finding him in an exit alley. but-- he is shoved to the ground. the man steps roughly on his nose, which starts to bleed. horrified, paris runs to the aid of her father, kicking the back of the mans knees as hard as she possibly could. which wasnt very hard. shes 4. the man turns around, leering at her before knocking her back roughly and punching her dad again and stealing money from his pockets. paris continued to fight the man, who pushed her to the ground on top of a sharp brick before leaving. despite being hurt and livid and wanting nothing more than to chase down the offender, paris wisely remains with her unconscious dad (he wakes soon enough but a terrified paris spends 6 minutes believing him dead). both of them healed from the incident (paris only having a small scar on her back and her dad a broken nose that was crookedly fixed), but paris vowed to herself that day she would never allow herself to be beaten that easily against future bullies.
what is your character's biggest fear?
that her rather intrusive and overactive mind will kind of overtake all her suppressive measures to it and she'll just kind of.... break down and not function anymore.... and she'll be someone she doesnt want and shouldnt be, someone who.... takes too many risks and may/may not be a danger to herself and possible others
how would others describe your character?
very....colourful. kind of distracted/lost in her own thoughts. can never seem to stop moving in some way
what is your character's most prized possession?
does her spider count?
what is your character's deepest insecurity?
being bad socially/not knowing how to respond to people in difficult situations. its gotten her in pickles quite a few times and she never feels she handles them well. she suspects this is why she has never had a friend
what motivates your character?
ensuring an interesting life for herself, lived not based on what people expect, but what she really really wants and what makes her happy
what angers your character?
people being mean for the fun of it, people torturing animals
what makes your character happy?
making it to the top of tall trees, when xhosa seeks her out to talk instead of the opposite, finding a new snake/bug, riding horses
what does your character like about themself?
she thinks its honestly kind of hilarious how much she loves and obsesses over animals and is also really fond of her hair
how is your character's relationship with their family?
pretty good with her mom; its a comfortable love, very accepting and calm. kind of strained with her dad; his absences being fairly often, its been hard to build a real bond, and she may not realise that she kind of resents his absence, despite thinking the reason for them is kind of awesome. slightly distant but good with xhosa; she looks up to him a lot and loves him very deeply and would do anything for him, they dont see each other a ton at hogwarts, but xhosa is very aware of his sisters devotion to him. kind of in the background but good with aspen and irini; her closeness with xhosa has caused her to stay pretty much out of the lives of her younger siblings, but she in no way hates, resents, or is annoyed by them.
is your character susceptible to peer pressure?
nope. she is very individual and proud of it
what annoys your character the most?
being forced to talk to boring people, talking to people in general, dumb or haughty people, mmmmmm basically if people didnt exist she would be okay with that
⋆⋆⋆III. descriptions
describe your character's accent
ghanaian with slightly more british influences. a ghanaian accent is already mildly british sounding, just more melodic, with more enunciated, open vowels, crisp and easy to understand consonants at the end of words, and a more deliberate, rhythmic tone. her accent has taken on a quicker pace and a more closed vowel sound since coming to hogwarts and being surrounded by mostly british accents, but the ghanaian roots remain
describe your character's smile
slightly lopsided, right side of mouth lifts higher than left. has trouble supressing it. when alone and talking to self, smile tends more towards being openmouthed, tounge between teeth
describe your character's "tell" for lying
right eyebrow and corner of mouth lift slightly, may/may not speak more vaguely than usual. being an active person, small movements such as this are hardly noticeable, but her older brother can always tell
describe your character's mannerisms/habits
twirling braids around fingers when bored, zoning off and staring intently without blinking at random stuff and looking generally mildly demented/unstable, possibly talking to herself, going up steps 2 at a time
describe your character's typical first impression
weird...., wanna meet my spider, honest/direct, if youre not an interesting person please dont talk to me, maybe kinda nervous/unsure of what to say
describe a recurring dream for your character
an ethereal, misty white tiger pads softly through a monotonous grey-green forest. thick brush blocks its way. persevering despite the obstacle, the tiger presses through. branches that break release small puffs of colourful powder. when the tiger emerges on the other side of the brush, it is a covered in a rainbow of the vibrant powder and no natural white of its fur can be seen. thunderous wing beats can be heard overhead, and the tiger looks up to see a hippogriff land heavily a couple metres away. the darkness and depth of the black feathers and fur nearly seems to glow against the faded backdrop of the trees. it stands stoicly and turns its yellow eyes upon the tiger, who bows before it. the hippogriff huffs and the tiger remains unacknowledged. the tiger looks at itself and shakes of much of the rainbow off its fur. the vibrant powder that remains seems to fade and turn dull. the tiger bows once more and after a weighted pause, the hippogriff returns the bow. the tiger rises before the hippogriff, who stands quickly with muscles suddenly tensed. the tiger flinches and growls, as if in apology, but the hippogriff is unforgiving; with a shriek, it slashes the face of the tiger who falls to the ground. the hippogriff continues to claw at the tigers body, blood staining the white fur and shining in contrast with the grey forest floor. the tiger stands and roars at the hippogriff but does not fight back, the latter shrieking and flapping its wings. there is a focus and depth, something hidden that tries to be vulnerable but refuses in the tigers eyes that the hippogriff cannot match. the tiger turns and walks back through the brush, leaving a trail of blood behind. more powder coats its sticky red fur and every colour seems more determined and intense than the first time. the hippogriff screeches for the tigers return, and in its desperation, its blackness exudes from its body and envelops the forest; the retreating form of the vivid tiger being the last to disappear in its shadow
describe your character's morning/nightly routine
wake up at 4.45am-ish and find rosetón. bored-clean. go to breakfast as absolutely early as possible. avoid people.
bored-clean to avoid homework. 'just one more chapter' in her one of many herp/animal books to avoid homework. maybe pester xhosa if hes not in his common room. find rosetón. go to bed at 00.00am-ish.
describe the contents of your character's bag
well-worn herpetology textbook, hardly used school books, stopwatch, fidget spinner cube/ring, probably some random animal part (like a snake shed, tarantula molt, cat whisker, bird feather, etc)
describe how your character wants to be seen
she doesnt really care for or think about this like ever. people will see her how they want and she cant change that. if they misunderstand how she really is thats on them and its not her responsibility to be concerned about it

It simply isn’t an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons.

II. Questions
What is your character's greatest strength? What is your character's greatest weakness?Loyalty. Livia is unwilling to betray a friend and will do anything for those she loves. What is your character's biggest fear?Loyalty. Livia is loyal to a fault and would sacrifice herself for anyone she cares about. She ties her self worth to the opinions of those she appreciates. Her morality is also fully dependent on the morality/opinions of whichever individual she thinks is best at any given moment. How would others describe your character?Abandonment. The idea that someone she loves (and gives her all to love, given her loyalty), might leave her is abhorrent! Since she loves quite obsessively, this is a big problem, and since she would also equate death or perceived abandonment with real abandonment... well, we've got some angst potential here! What is your character's most prized possession?Oh boy. Here we go. These are going in reducio.
ReducioTaliesin Annwyn:
"Livia, if Taliesin was being honest with herself, fascinated her. Mostly due to how to she seemed to effortlessly exude all the grace and elegance of a proper Pureblood lady. Everything Taliesin, herself, struggled with; and she both admired and envied it."Geneva Bishop:
"Which is why she was keenly irritated to notice another first year, Livia Machavariani, who was as involved in all the Hogwarts teams as an upperclassman. Livia was not only a duelist and a Quidditch player, but she had also captained the Quidditch team at one point. And as if that wasn’t enough, she seemed to be an exceptional student… or else she just put on the airs of one. It was really too much to fathom in a twelve-year-old. Maybe Geneva could bear it if Livia had been a kind and friendly person, but she was constantly looking down her nose at everyone in stony silence. Geneva couldn’t stand it."Prat Pass:
"Livia, who could only be defined as Viridian Vipers' Fancy Lil Rapier. Attention grabbing, uneasy on the eyes and a presence that unnerved what ever task you carried out."Silas Norwood:
"Have ya considered speakin’ like a normal 11 year old, or are ya some kind of robot? I didn’ realise AI ‘ad grown so realistic already…"Esme Hestridge:
"Livia’s eyes caught her attention again — they balanced somewhere between sage and sea glass, crystalline with a sparkle of something enchanting behind them. Her clothes were elegant: well-fitted, they looked good and actually stylish, not merely trendy, erring on the side of vintage. She was poised, movements fluid and understated. All in all, a picture of high class and decorum."Camille De Varenne:
"the girl with the terrible aura and worse attitude"Evpraksiya Vinogradova:
"And Livochka! Oh, her sweet little cousin looked so cute standing on the piste with her mask on! If Evpraksiya were a girl with less self-control, she'd be sweeping Livochka off her feet in a hug and asking her when she grew so mature! Goodness, her cute little cousin had certainly grown in her absence. She'd have to tell her how proud she was of her after the duel. In the present, she had nothing but faith that they'd work together in absolute synchronization."Cyrus Darsel:
"Cyrus was very, very good at not being judgemental. He was so good at it, in fact, that the Livia girl's flat, rude, hurtful response did not make him think any less of her or her surely cold upbringing. To each their own, after all, even if this child looked like she could use a healthy dose of sunshine and rainbows. She was so serious – had she laughed before in her life? Did she even understand the joy of whimsy? Of interacting with others and valuing other humans just as much, if not more, than oneself? Her existence must have been very boring and sad, and Cyrus was determined to make it better. "What is your character's deepest insecurity? She does not have one yet. What motivates your character?...the fact that she's never good enough for those she loves, no matter how hard she tries. :)What angers your character?...trying to be good enough for everyone else. What makes your character happy? What does your character like about themself?Good food. Fashion. Manners. People who actually care about her. Friends. :) Also sculpting and nature. How is your character's relationship with their family?Livia thinks she is the most doting older sister ever, and she thinks this is a great trait. She supposes she is also intelligent and decent at cooking, baking and sculpting. Is your character susceptible to peer pressure?...We don't talk about that.
ReducioLivia's brother, Julian, is her lifeline. At this point in her story, most of what she does revolves around her little Julenka. However, despite the fact that she does care greatly for him, their relationship is also incredibly toxic because she wants him to be wholly dependent on her so he will never leave. So, yeah.
Livia likes her father, Séamus. He is not a great father, not really all that emotionally available, but neither is she, so they get along. They have a lot of similar interests (strategy games, history, languages, etc), and she gets a lot of her temperament from him, perhaps other than the intense jealousy issues.
Livia and her mother, Natela, do not have the best relationship. Natela has very high expectations for Livia, who is simply expected to meet them. She very rarely finds praise from her mother, while her little brother, who was not labelled prodigious early on, is showered with praise when he does even simple things correctly. Livia has mixed feelings about this but has been told not to show feelings, so she does not comment on it.
Livia very much loves her cousin, Evpraksiya (you guys know her!). Ev is one of the few people she feels seen and appreciated by, so, as a result, she hangs onto a lot of Evpraksiya's words as if she were a lost puppy. Yes, this is problematic, but don't worry, it's fiiiiiine. What annoys your character the most?Very. She moulds most of her actions off of societal pressures, which are pretty similar. However, like I mentioned earlier, her morality is very heavily based upon that of others. So, if people she looks up to/likes tell her to do something... she's very likely to do as they say unless someone she cares about more says otherwise.Right now, it's people who make her jealous.
III. Descriptions
Describe your character's accentDescribe your character's smile
- In English, Southern RP. I've likened her accent to that of Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, so RP. In Russian/Georgian, posh and learned. She's got a very slight Imeretian accent in Georgian, and a slight St Petersburg area accent in Russian. She does her best to ensure she has a very crisp accent in all three languages (and she is currently trying to iron out the slight hint of a Georgian accent in her Italian). Her voice is warm, a bit raspy, lower-pitched.
Describe your character's "tell" for lying
- Often faked. She doesn't know how to smile 'properly'. The polite smiles she will sometimes give people for show do not meet her eyes, and she does not know how to fix that. But since her eyes are naturally upturned, she looks pleasant, just a bit uncanny valley.
- But the real ones? Slightly crooked, often wry. On occasion, when she is trying not to beam, you'll get a close-lipped smile where it looks like she is holding something back.
Describe your character's mannerisms/habits
- Livia is a smooth liar. However, she does not always know when to lie vs when to be blunt. The biggest tell, then, is situational discrepancy.
- Alternatively, she's horrible at lying when it comes to pretending she's worse than she is, especially if it's not an anonymous sort of thing. She (perhaps awfully) attempts to fake incompetence in Contrivance with Stella Bianchi.
- If you sus her out and call her out, she will cover it up, but NOT BEFORE short-circuiting a bit, in a 'how could you know, with your inferior intelligence!' sort of way.
Describe your character's typical first impression
- Livia's that kid with the intense eye contact. She'd rather stare into your soul than not because it makes it easier for her to sit still. She prefers to observe and stay quiet until comfortable. She fidgets when uncomfortable, but she has been told this is bad, so she tries to minimise it. This sometimes results in rocking/swaying that she hopes is not noticeable.
- She likes to appear poised – perfect posture, finely-worn clothes, etc – but has hobbies that can get messy (sculpting, outdoor adventuring, etc). When able, she likes to keep a change of clothes with her. However, Scourgify has become one of her favourite spells as of late.
- She maintains decorum and etiquette where possible but has the teensiest rebellious streak (she is pro-cheating and manipulation, for example). She does not exactly have morals, but adheres to social norms as best she can.
- She is over-prepared. If she were older she'd be the mum friend. She likes to have everything planned out in case something goes wrong, but, of course, she can't remember everything.
- She is also very, very attached to people.
Describe a recurring dream for your character
- A smile. A handshake, or lowering her hand for a polite kiss, whichever the situation requires. Even a well-practised curtsy if necessary. Warm, flatly spoken words: 'It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Livia (Surname depending on the person). How do you do?'
- On the very rare occasion it is a bad day, or she is overwhelmed/dead exhausted, you might get a smile and a nod instead, with her apologising for her lack of proper introduction later.
Describe your character's morning/nightly routine
- I don't think she has any. Yet.
Describe the contents of your character's bag
- Morning: She wakes up as early as she can while still feeling somewhat rested. Immediately, she gets ready – her clothes were laid out the night before, and it is easy to put them on and style her hair with a comb of vanity. She is too young for makeup, so that's not even a consideration, but she does sometimes dab rose oil on her wrists because she likes flowers. She then goes downstairs for a very modest breakfast – her attention is more on hydration since she is rather parched after a long sleep. She might have a croissant or some fruit. Sometimes she will read the post should her family send anything (which is, admittedly, rare); otherwise, she will engage in reading of the classics to help ease herself awake.
- Night: Now that she is no longer captaining Quidditch, her nights are far more open. If left entirely to her own devices, Livia would be a night owl. She adores the night sky and looks forward to the weekly Astronomy class because it gives her an excuse to be up late and watch the stars. As it is, she tends to work on assignments, studying and writing for the Headliner before bed. She will do this until her eyelids are drooping, after which she will shower/bathe, brush her teeth, brush her hair (100 strokes, of course! and she counts!) and change into satin nightclothes. She must cocoon herself tightly in her blankets and be surrounded by complete darkness; otherwise, she will not be able to sleep.
Describe how your character wants to be seen
- 1 change of clothes, minimum; these are not her usual clothes and often consist of a light linen shirt and pressed slacks, rolled to avoid wrinkles, to be utilised only in an emergency.
- 2 quills. These are white and cleanly-cut.
- 1 black inkwell.
- Extra parchment.
- 1 dose of Antidote to Common Poisons.
- 1 dose of Antidote to Uncommon Poisons.
- 1 Charlatan's Die (just in case).
- Enough spare coins to reasonably purchase a small snack if needed.
- Wand.
- She would give anything to be seen as perfect. She has not realised that perfection is not attainable.
