Purely informational? Kim nodded, filing this away into his mind. It was an interesting way to go about things. This first meeting appeared to simply be to discuss how future meetings would go. But why would they need to hold a meeting for this, why not simply discuss through owls? But maybe the leader wanted to interact with members in person and have things be a little bit more personal. He did like what Elena said about not being forced to speak to any others. The girl's words about having it be a place of relaxation where members could read in peace was what had drawn him to the club in the first place. The fact Elena had reiterated this in the informational meeting was a good sign, at least for him. This could be a relaxing space for him.

Elena went on to speak of practical details of the club and Kim nodded a little, taking in her words. It seemed as if she had thought things through and he was curious to see how things would proceed starting with their first official meeting. More people began to show up and he couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. He didn't tend to like being in a place with large amounts of people. But at least it was outside. It helped with his nerves. Thankfully, Elena chose this time to tell them to sign up in the leather bound tome she'd brought with her if they decided to join the club, signaling the end of the introduction meeting. Kim signed his name, Kim Aoki, the name he was going by for now at Hogwarts. It was odd to hold a 'pen' but they were cool.

She was really, really, really late. There was no great excuse, no homework assignment she was deeply behind on, no duelling emergency. She'd simply forgotten what Elena had said: what room would host the first meeting of The Margins Collective. Because it wasn't a room. It was the lake. It was only once she'd looked out the window that she'd caught the image of a large tree and an equally large pile of books on a nearby table.

Biting her lip—she had been so stupid—she adjusted her satchel on her shoulder and ran out the front doors of the school, nearly tumbling out onto the grounds. She arrived, completely out of breath, in time to hear Elena talk about how this was an informational meeting. That gave her some reprieve—she hadn't missed too much.

Seeing the book Elena had gestured to, that was where Maisie bee-lined towards. The least she could do was sign up properly. There was a boy ahead of her (@Kim Sato) in the queue, but she gave him all the time he needed to sign. After the run she'd just had, she was in no position to jump the queue. As she waited, she scanned the crowd. It was a fairly decent turn out, including notably @Alyss Gilmour. Maisie turned her attention away from her and to the back of Kim Sato's head. She still didn't know what exactly was Alyss' problem with her beyond that one unofficial duel last year, but she didn't want to create any awkwardness.

Then, when it was her turn, she eagerly signed her name. As to where to go in this moment of mingling, her eyes settled on fellow Ravenclaw @Ophelia Northwell, who had visited her booth in the summer. Maisie strolled over to her as she undid and redid her plait. "Hey Ophelia," she greeted her, "What did I miss?"

Ophelia felt herself slip steadily into the background of the club's happenings. Which was to be expected, she supposed, as she didn't know much of the people in attendance. She knew them by face or by name, some of them, but most were strangers. The school was a large one, and even in the midst of her patrols and attendance of school activities, Ophelia was sure that she'd missed seeing quite a few of the students.

Questions were asked and answered, and the Ravenclaw slipped into a state of zone-out, her eyes present yet her mind drifting far away. That was, until a familiar face entered the scene quite late. Maisie was more of an acquaintance than a friend, in Ophelia's mind. They interacted briefly before but the fact that they'd never had much of a true conversation and that she was a year younger made her more unknown. But it seemed she, too, didn't know many here because she made her way to Ophelia and greeted her.

What did I miss was quite an open-ended question. "Er, Elena got into some of the club rules. But this is mostly an informational meeting, apparently, so you didn't miss much." That was a terrible way to sum it up, she was sure. Maisie probably understood nothing from all of that, but she couldn't take back the words now. Worst case, the fellow Ravenclaw would ask Elena for any details that she missed.

One question in particular caught Ophelia's attention. It was rougher than the others, and she looked up to recognise the speaker as Archer. She'd interacted with him a few times, though whether it was first or second year was a little fuzzy in her head. They hadn't gotten along perfectly, however, so she decided not to say anything. Better to stay a silent observer, wasn't it? She assumed he, like her, was comparing this meeting to the first of his own club a year or two prior. But while she enjoyed the concept of what he deemed "useless aesthetics," he seemed to feel the opposite way. Interesting.

When Elena extended the leather bound journal for signatures, Ophelia was eager to sign. This club seemed well organised, and she was interested to see where it would go. She signed her name with her usual flourish and then hung back once more, waiting to see if there was any more to this meeting.

Damien slowly got up and made his way towards the table that contained the leather bound book where students would sign their name if they were interested in joining the club, he quickly took the quill and started to write his name nice and neatly in cursive before sitting back down as he was waiting. Normally he probably would have left since the meeting seemed to be ending now but he still had a mission he had yet to complete and he knew he had to give it to her.

He looked over in the back at the painting covered in the white cloth as he still wanted to give it to Elena as an apology so he figured he would stay and see if she needed some help cleaning up after the meeting so that way he could give it to her. He honestly didn’t know why he went through all of the trouble of making the paining but he still felt bad for lashing out at Elena that one time and he knew he just had to do something grand to apologize and this was the only thing he could think of as a fitting apology. I mean sure he could have baked her something sweet from the recipes his mother sent with him but he didn’t think that would be as heartfelt as a painting.

As he quietly stayed in the back his mind started to wonder off as he thought about all of the information Elena had just given them as he was quite impressed with how she handled such a large group and kept their focus on her it was truly admirable.

Alyss absolutely adored Elena Clark, one of her very best friends. This girl had organized an entire club, been forgiving of one of her friend’s tardiness, accepted a gift in grace, and also managed to answer questions, all without any seeming difficulty. Even Alyss, someone who liked to talk and was forgiving would have messed something up. So her best friend was simply awe inspiring, leaving Alyss smiling at her stupidly, overjoyed that Elena had liked her gift.

She also shot a kind look at Mahlioz, grateful that they were so welcoming and nice. Although Alyss hadn’t necessarily become best friends with them, that didn’t mean she couldn’t express her delight that they continued running into each other, though it made sense. Mahlioz did strike Alyss as someone who may be a bit of a bookworm. Everything was fine and dandy, even perfect, until an ungrateful brat opened their mouth. Alyss’ smile vanished.

Spite, loathing, possibly hatred filled her mind. How dare someone take the time out of their day to arrive at Elena’s hard planned meeting, only to express pure contempt? Alyss wasn’t going to sit back and simply…observe. That would be too kind to this fellow. So, with a glare, Alyss retaliated, malice filling her tone. “What kind of awful person takes the time out of their day to attempt to ruin others? If you’re not interested in the ‘useless aesthetics’ that accompany the meetings, then you should leave. And not come back.” The despise in her voice was incredibly clear, evident by her disgusted facial expression. Elena didn’t need people like him in her club.

Then, Elena, like the angel she was, actually responded kindly, and without the contempt that Alyss had. Somehow, she’d managed to keep a handle on her emotions, unlike Alyss. Perhaps she’d work on that. Or perhaps the boy had needed the… support. The support Alyss had provided.

A dozen of people reached for the quill lying next to the leather bounded volume, though the raven made sure to not scrutinize the ones that had chosen to sign, as well as the one that had preferred not to. The very last thing she wanted was to pressure someone into joining her club, and attentively note who grasped the quill and who did not was the best way to ensure this. So, instead, the honey haired girl pretended to sort different books into unknown categories, arranging a few glasses, reaching down to brush the incredibly soft scarf her dear friend of the sun had knitted for her,,,,,.

If the moonchild had payed closer attention to the small crowd gathered in front of her, she would have noticed a brown haired girl rushing towards them, late arrived and already future member — a colourful character, made of vibrant yellows and blooming flowers, mismatched buttons and warm tea leaves.

When her thought did locked back into place, however, was when Alyss — sweet, tender, running-through-sunlit-meadows Alyss — snapped at the strange boy with a bitter tongue. The raven's jaw dropped a few inches before the unexpected tirade, and it took a few seconds for her mind to regain its rightful place and command her to react. "Al- Lyly," she corrected herself, not desiring to sound as though she was reproaching her friend's courageous behavior. Inching closer to the sun-haired girl, she leaned towards her in conspiracy, lips curved into a softened smile, whispering in a hushed tone "Thank you, that was extremely sweet of you. I don't think he's harmful, though, so don't worry."

Aside from this little accrochage the meeting had unfolded itself surprisingly smoothly, in comparison to all of the catastrophe scenarios Elena had prepared, just in case. More and more people signed and left, and soon the willow tree sheltered but a solitary being, bent over the volume. A proud, excited smile sparked on her face as she counted all of the names scribbled down the paper — even though this reunion might have appeared as slightly boring, it still had convinced some souls to join her in this slightly insane project she had crafted through the year. Shutting the book down, the raven rose to her feet in order to pack the last items, when she suddenly noticed she was not alone.

Damien waited until he was the last one left with just him and Elena as he didn’t want to embarrass himself in-front of a lot of people. He slowly took a deep breath and closed his eyes as he held onto the painting thinking to himself, I got this…just give her the painting and hope she likes it. After giving himself a much needed confidence boost he quickly but still nervously walked towards Elena. “Hey Elena! I-uhm…great meeting by the way it was really organized and very well done!” As he spoke you could hear the nervousness radiating off of him as he kept writing the plans of his hand off on his robes, he honestly didn’t know why he was so nervous maybe it was due to the fact that this was suppose to be an apology for Elena or maybe it was more so him trying to impress her so he could possible be her friend he honestly couldn’t tell himself.

For once in his life he took the advice that his father had given him when he was younger the words echoing in his head as he looked at Elena, “Suck it up and get it over with.” Those words from his father echoing in his brain as he quickly sallowed his nerves before finding his courage to overcome his nerves. “Okay so I know the way time we met I sorta of uhm…lashed out at you and said some harsh things…which was completely my fault and I was in the wrong!” As he spoke you could tell how nervous he was due to him rambling on and on which was a habit he tend to do when he was nervous before he took another deep breath and decided to get to the point.

“The point I’m trying to make is I’m sorry…and to prove I was sorry I made you a gift to capsule you’re kindness as well as your beauty” As he said that he took the sheet off of the painting revealing this beautiful gorgeous painting that captured Elena perfectly her beautiful ocean blue eyes, her honey golden hair and a smile that could light up the world like no one else.

“It took me awhile to get everything just right but i uhm…I have a good memory..”

Sunlight had begun to dim over the meadow, though the dipping branch of the weeping willow obscured this changement. A cooler breeze had settled, its scent hinting rain might be expected in the following hours.

Still sat close to the rugged trunk of her beloved tree, Elena was finishing wrapping up the last details of this meeting, piling up books and storing them back into their rightful basket, or packing the leftover delicacies. As the last person waved goodbye, she tightly shut the sign up book closed, delighted at the sight of the signatures lining up on the goldened paper.

Upon folding the last couverture, she suddenly realized one soul had lingered, the starry-eyed boy with which she had had an awkward encounter a few weeks prior, Damien. He was carrying an oddly shaped object, a gigantic square which appeared to be a painting. Intrigued, the blonde rose again, head tilting in curiosity, smiling with gratitude as he complimented the somewhat chaotic reunion that had just occurred.

She quickly realized he appeared to still be feeling terrible in regards to what had happened last time they had met, a tirade which Elena quickly interrupted with a rapid shake of the head. "We already discussed this, you have nothing to apologize for."

Without giving her the chance to further develop, he instead offered the painting he was carrying, which revealed itself to be a painting of her. The level of details was impressive, and though it was odd to receive a painting of oneself — she, for instance, had no idea where to store it, as having her own face hung on a wall was uncanny — she could tell he had poured his heart into it, and the attention was endearing. "Thank you Damien," she beamed, "it truly looks marvelous, you have a real talent."

Damien face turned a hue of pink as he looked away with a little smile due to Elena complimenting his painting and stating how he is very talented. “O-oh! Uhm thank you…it isn’t much ha ha I just always was good at painting I guess.” He rubbed the back of his neck as he could feel the embarrassment creeping up on him. It’s why he waited till everyone was gone to give her this gift as if he was to give it to her in front of all those other guest well he might have just died from how embarrassed he would have gotten.

He took another look at the painting as a deep realization was starting to sink in, while he was painting it he hadn’t noticed how big he made it due to him being lost in the moment in his craft and even after wrapping it in a sheet to protect it he truly didn’t pay the size any attention. However now that he was looking at it he noticed it was quite huge which also meant a huge problem, just who the hell would she carry this as well as where would she put it. He let out a strange gargle sound as he truly didn’t think this through now that he thought about it. “It just uhm..accrued to me how will you carry this ? And most importantly where will you put this as I didn’t realize I made it so uhm..huge?” If she couldn’t tell before she would definitely be able to see how nervous he was especially since he realized two major problems.

His hands started to feel sweaty now that he was nervous and he absolutely hated it so he took out one of the Dragonclaw family handkerchief he owned which had his initials on it as he started to wipe the sweat off of his hands as well as his face as he tried to think of a solution to this issue.

While the amount of details captured the shifting hues of her golden locks in precise detail, and the attention was endearing, Elena had truly no idea what to do with such an item. While handcrafts such as the two lovely scarves she had been gifted prior this year, or other paintings she had purchased could be proudly hung over a wall, an enormous frame of your own face would be a bit too much for the comfort of her dorm.

Then again, she was quite sure her maternal grandparents would absolutely love it, and destroy her on the spot should they learn she had come into possession of a painting of herself and did not even mention it to them. Perhaps she could store it in her trunk until the upcoming vacations.

"It's okay, do not worry! I'll figure something out."

Poor thing was nervous enough already, she did not wish to add on to his squirming. He appeared an overall rather anxious individual, despite his fierce determination in appearing otherwise.

Seizing the painting in one hand, the rest of the material in another, she turned to him one last time before departing. "Thank you again Damien, see you soon!"
