Slytherin vs Ravenclaw Fall 2025

The first match of the year was always a bit jarring, but this year seemed particularly different. Winnie was riding a brand new broom, an Oakshaft 79. As much as she would miss her old reliable Silver Arrow, she knew the Oakshaft was a better choice. Besides, her old broom would likely be given to a younger player anyways.

It also seemed a bit weird that she was playing against her new brother-in-law, @Aamon Athanatos. How was she going to explain it to Matt if she knocked the poor kid off his broom?

In the role of Chaser when you attempt to catch a passed Quaffle (such as when the Keeper has possession of the Quaffle and passes it to a teammate) you have advantage (meaning that it is rolled twice and you keep the better option) on attempts to catch if the opponent team attempts to intercept.

In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

In the role of Chaser, if you have a contested quaffle grab and a contested strength roll between yourself and another user is in progress, unless they have the same broom, you would be the victor of the contested quaffle grab. In addition, rounds where you are successfully carrying the quaffle in an attempt to score, you only take half-damage from bludgers and blatching attempts.

PARAGON OF HEALTH: Winnie is boosting Aly Salinger and Jorah Moussa, giving them an extra 10% of health.

The first Quidditch game of the year, and first ever for Rafal Devereux. Truthfully, when he was looking through the different sports offered by Hogwarts a few months back, this was not the one that stood out. The Slytherin had found himself awfully enamoured by the art of broom racing, and had signed up for the roster earliest he could. But never one to only limit his options to one, he’d put his name down for the other two games as well, and as luck would’ve had it - the one Rafal felt most blasé towards was the one he ended up involved in.

Not that Rafal was exactly complaining. Quidditch was still fun enough, and it was better than getting stuck as a duellist. As he surveyed the field with broom propped over his shoulder, the second year mused, sort of distantly, of the unpromising state of the weather. No rain yet, but no one would be surprised if things took a turn that way.

It was the beginning of the first game of Charlie’s fourth year. She had mixed feelings about it, and was hoping to start off the season strong. Change was in the air, as it was their first game without a few of their strongest teammates because they had graduated. It was also Charlie's first match playing against her best friend Ava, who was the keeper for Slytherin. Her stomach twisted with the usual anxiety, but she showed it down as she made her way to her position in front of her three golden hoops.

Prat strode in, broom in hand, gaze narrowed as he scouted the rest of the ravenclaw team. A few familiar faces stood amongst those hues of blues that had dared to walk against the house of viridian. There were quite a few familiar faces among the banners of blue, Aly Salinger, Damien Dragonclaw and a few others.

What was however the most surprising, stood not in the ravenclaw roster, but among the spectators. A certain boy, who'd adopted the countenance of a raven, yet possessed neither the brains nor the crowns to stand amongst them. An attempt to cover up his emerald with that of a lesser nature.

Prat stared daggers at the boy who'd trampled upon the very notion of House Pride and had believed it in his best interest to fraternize with the enemy.

Lottie felt her stomach clench anxiously as she stepped out onto the pitch, though not from nerves. Her relationship with quidditch had grown dramatically since her first match, and the fire of competition had been sparked alive in her gut. She knew these people now. Understood why her brother had made such a big deal out of the sport.

Her hair was whipped wildly in all different directions by a chilly wind, but the cold has no effect on her stony demeanor as she mounted her broom and took position right in front of their hoops. She listened with anticipation for the first whistle to swing the game into play.

For the first time in her life, Milica felt like she was in the spotlight. Sure, she was only a benched chaser, but she still considered it quite a feat. The young girl was actually glad to start off sitting on the bench, barely having any Quidditch experience yet. She still wasn't sure how she actually got on the team but one musn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

It was finally time for the first Quidditch game of the year, and Milica felt slightly nervous as she got onto the field. As expected, her roommate Cecilia was watching from the stands. She would take this secret with her to her grave, but seeing her roommate cheer her on actually warmed her icy heart ever so slightly. Giving a nod towards Cecilia's direction, she grabbed her broom and made her way over to the bench.

I wonder what Boram felt... the sloppy writing with globs of ink told of an elated encounter her cousin had experienced with the win of Durmstrang over the summer.

Nabi had not gone; her summer had other things in mind.

Taking in the air that danced, she looked up, her eyes reflecting the gray skies in thought, when the fog that loomed cleared from her mind as soon as the announcer began to speak. Cheers and chants from the audience caused her to glance around, I will go deaf here, noting the number of spectators before sitting down.

The bench was cold as she observed her teammates. Nabi had seen a few of them in the previous match she had halfheartedly spectated, her attention drifting to one player in particular. Munching away like a rodent afraid to get its meal stolen, whilst keeping the bench warm.

Her eyes flicked to Aamon, humming softly as he looked back at the audience like an emperor greeting his subjects. Mr. Athanatos only appears to grow in strangeness...

Percival looked up towards the sky with a small frown. The wind was already whipping at his hair, despite him not being off the ground yet. The boy let out a small side knowing that it was going to be only worse once he was above the quidditch pitch. Mounting his broom, he looks to the skies with a dull sense of determination. It was his last chance to play, It seemed weird when thinking back on who he had been when he first joined the team. How little he seemed to understand back then, and how much he still had no clue about. As he pushed off the ground he would let out a sigh of relief as the cold washed over him. His hair whipped wildly as he made his way away from the cover of the buildings. His gaze surveyed the blue coats in the air. Before locking on a familiar brown ponytail. Avis. While their meeting had been short, it had been rather memorable. He couldn't help but wonder if she was scared. She had seemed particularly nervous when she had been forced to share her broom with him during the scrimmage. Though, he wasn't too sure how much of that was just nerves from the game or for how he had played. A part of him hoped that it was the latter. A thought that brought a small swell of pride to grow in his chest. Percival would look at Avis with a smirk clear across his face, a small laugh falling from his lips.

1. In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself).

2. In the role of Beater, if an ALLY dodges a bludger during the round, there is a 20% chance that you catch that bludger with your bat and you send it at a RANDOM enemy target.

3. In the role of Beater, if you critically hit with a bludger, instead of doing double-damage you do 2.5x damage. If you critically fail with your bludger attempt to hit, rather than having your bludger randomly target another user (including yourself or an ally) the bludger cannot target you on a critical fail (but it can still target your allies). On a re-target, there is a random roll for target and then a fresh accuracy roll.

Ava arrived onto the pitch, clutching her broom tightly. This one was nicer than her old one, although she regretted the loss of Athena. She felt stupid to admit that her broom had a name, but now that she was riding a new one, it felt odd to not have a name for her broom. Switching from broom racing to quidditch was its own shock to her, although she was glad that she was racing against her friend. Another odd concept to her was the fact that she was confined to the bench until her team’s keeper was knocked out. Come to think of it, the rules of the game were still entirely confusing to her. Following lazily behind her teammates, she took up a position in the bench, leaning back casually to survey the pitch, and quickly spotting Charlie across the field. "They’re going down."
