Donna is the middle of three sisters. She lived her life surrounded by magic, learning to ride a broom when she was young. She learned that she had the ability to talk to snakes relatively young, an ability she inherited from her father's side of the family. Donna was proud of being a parselmouth, as she was the first, and at the time she learned only, one of her generation who was one. She got her letter to Hogwarts on the eve of her 11th birthday and was very excited to go. Donna's mother's side of the family was primarily made up of Ravenclaws, her mother included. Donna thought herself bright and clever, but didn't particularly want to be a Ravenclaw. Her father's side was almost entirely made up of Slytherins, a house that Donna desperately wanted to be sorted into. In fact, her father and older sister were the first in several generations to not be Slytherins. June was a proud Ravenclaw, while her father had been content to be a Hufflepuff, despite qualms from the rest of the family.

Donna was sorted into Slytherin, much to her joy and the joy of her paternal family. She excelled at Charms and Divination. During her years at Hogwarts, she spent many a night attempting, and often succeeding, at getting into mischief, much to the chagrin of her older sister. Detention was an old friend by the time Donna graduated.

Donna considered herself rather social during her school years, with one of her many friends being Henry, a friendly and bubbly Hufflepuff, the first wizard of his family. He was swiftly brought into Donna's troublemaking, and the two were very close. They remained close even after graduation, the two still being friends to this day.

After graduating, Donna got herself a job as a librarian aide, loving to be among books. After a couple years of that, she grew rather bored and became a forge worker and later a metal charmer. After having Pyce and Hecate at 22, she went back to being a librarian aide, living a comfortable life in Ellesmere Port off a mix of her own earnings and a sizable inheritance from her father's side of the family.

Donna has plans to continue as a metal charmer once the twins are settled in school. As of right now, that's looking to be their second year, rather than first as she originally hoped.

Hecate is Pyce's twin brother, and the greatest nuisance that his family has known. A lover of magic as well as a chronic bother-er of Pyce's love of the muggle world, Hecate has dreamed of going to Hogwarts ever since he learned the school existed. Though he isn't much of a reader, he has stacks upon stacks of books about magic, which he pesters Pyce into reading to him. He loves his brother dearly and will stand up to any perceived injustice against them. Pyce wishes he wouldn't sometimes.

Practically joined to his twin's hip, Hecate is often the one to introduce Pyce to new things, like books, music, or food. This gives the two a few shared likes. In turn, Pyce does the same, meaning that most of Hecate's knowledge of the muggle world is from things like Pyce's favorite muggle band or muggle history.

Much of Hecate's history is yet to be written, but he is very excited to make the most of his time at Hogwarts, and incredibly eager to drag Pyce along for any shenanigans he has planned.

As of September of 2025, Hecate is a Slytherin and very happy about it. His family on his grandfather's side are all very pleased to hear about another Slytherin Rotanski. And he is very pleased to be so praised.

June is the eldest of her sisters and the third eldest of all her cousins. As a pureblood, she, like the rest of her family, grew up with magic. Out of all her sisters, she is the most unfamiliar with the world of muggles, not that she minds. June had her first instance of accidental magic incredibly young, holding the record in her generation, at just two years. She still brags about it to this day.

The first four years of June's life were spent in the bliss only an eldest child who would eventually have younger siblings could have. She was doted on by her two older cousins, as well as all of her maternal family, given how she was the first grandchild on that side. Her paternal family cared less, as her father had drifted away from most of them by the time she was born.

June was taught through a mix of her older cousins and tutors as she grew up. She learned all sorts of things before she even got her letter to Hogwarts, though she promised every single one of her cousins and aunts that she wouldn't use any magic until she got her wand and was properly enrolled.

Her letter to Hogwarts arrived a week before her 11th birthday, and most everything she got that Christmas was either galleons or school supplies. And she was incredibly thankful.

June had her fingers crossed on being a Hufflepuff, like her father, but was instead sorted into Ravenclaw, studious and responsible as she was. This was cause for celebration from her maternal family, and grumbling from the paternal side she barely knew, cousins aside. June took being a Ravenclaw in stride, becoming incredibly proud of her house. She was prefect and later head girl.

After graduating, June went off to secure a job in the Ministry. With much success, June dutifully worked and is currently a Ministor for Magic Advisor, and incredibly proud of it.

She tends not to live in the same place long, flitting from place to place as she needs, looking into things where needed. Though every so often June will settle and stay with her parents for a week or two. Even with that, she always makes time for her only nephews and spoils them rotten. She was also the one to pick out Hecate's middle name.

Lea is the youngest of her sisters, and most all of her cousins. Much like everyone else, she grew up in a world of magic. While she didn't learn to ride a broom until Hogwarts, and wasn't taught any under the table magic by overeager cousins, Lea was coddled as the youngest for a time. With only two cousins younger than her, 19 and 17, the both of them, she held the "baby of the family" award for the longest. 7 years, where she was considered quite a bit of a favorite for both sides. After Donna's sorting, Lea's paternal family made amends with her father, giving her much more time with all her aunts and uncles and cousins.

She was only about 4 when she talked to a snake for the first time. This made Lea the fourth and last of her generation to be a parselmouth. This was a skill that she took great pride in. Unlike Donna, who later stopped being so open about her ability, Lea shared her talent with pride, back then and to this day. She still has her school-sanctioned snake, Lucky, an emerald gazer, as well as an albino boa constrictor she got as a graduation gift named Cornflakes. She talks to both regularly and sometimes leaves one at Donna's just to get on her sister's nerves. Lucky takes as much joy in doing so as Lea.

Lea got her letter to Hogwarts a few months after her 11th birthday, seeing as she'd be turning 12 a scant few after getting there. She had her fingers crossed for Gryffindor, as well as Slytherin, and wound up getting sorted into the latter. Lea was an ace at Potions and later was able to take Alchemy, which she also excelled in.

It was at Hogwarts that Lea met her best friend; an optimistic Gryffindor named Genevieve Verlan. The two are still incredibly close, and Ginny visits Donna and her family often. The twins are well acquainted with her, though Hecate has some interesting theories about why she visits so often.

The twins were born just as Lea was finishing up her 3rd year at Hogwarts, causing her to miss the last week or so of that school year. She was eager to welcome her darling nephews and was able to choose Pyce's, at the time Helios, middle name.

School continued as normal the following year, though Lea made it a point to leave at every available opportunity to visit her nephews. She wanted to teach them magic, much like her eldest cousins had done for June many years before, but was swiftly shot down by every responsible adult in earshot.

Lea graduated with average grades everywhere but Potions, where she was top of her class, and is currently on her way to becoming a renowned Potioneer.

Maeve Watkins was an only child born to a pureblood family. She lived her life enjoying nature and everything it had to offer. Maeve has always been a free spirit and could often be found atop the highest branches of a tree or trying to ride a broom standing up. She learned from her aunts and uncles, and her two cousins, Randell and Summer, both a year older than her.

Maeve got her letter a few months after her 11th birthday. Shopping was a joy, and she was allowed to get a crup puppy, so long as it stayed home.

When arriving at Hogwarts, Maeve had her fingers crossed for Gryffindor, though most of her family was made up of Ravenclaws. She did not get her wish, but gladly accepted the sorting.

One holiday season, during her 4th year, Maeve stayed at school due to some chaos happening at home. She simply wanted to wander through the snowy nature without having to deal with the commotion of who was planning on moving where. She'd be able to say her goodbyes when the year ended.

It was that year she met Finn. Finn was a shy Hufflepuff boy in his 3rd year, who had apparently stayed at Hogwarts every holiday since he started. A Hufflepuff from a long line of Slytherins. Maeve promptly befriended him. She made sure that Finn knew he was wanted and cared for. From that point forward, Maeve spent every holiday and break at Hogwarts, keeping Finn company.

The two started dating in their 5th and 6th years, having been attending dances together since they met and clearly having something there.

Maeve graduated top of her class and went to work as an Auror as soon as she could. She finished training and worked her way up to Auror Commissioner. She stepped down from her position in 2000, shaken from events only a few years before and wanting to make sure she could still be there for her family.

It was back during her Auror training that Maeve proposed to Finn and the two were married a year later at the ages of 20 and 19. Both were told they were too young, but both stuck by their decision and continue to be happily married to this very day.

In 1987, Maeve gave birth to June. She took a brief hiatus after that before jumping right back into being an Auror.

Maeve now works as a Healer at St Mungos. She claims it's to have money to spoil her grandchildren. In reality, she simply needs something to do, and to keep helping people.

Finnegan was born the youngest of 9, with an eldest sister, 5 brothers, and 2 more sisters. Most all of his siblings, as well as his father, were parselmouths, an ability that they were all hoping would show in Finn. It did not.

Finn had his first instance of magic rather late compared to his family, being nearly 10 when it occurred. Luckily, he was still well beloved as the baby and called a "late bloomer." Finn received his letter to Hogwarts nearly a year down to the day of the anniversary.

Despite showing much promise when it came to studying and magic, Finn was not looking forward to school. From the moment he stepped onto Platform 9¾ to when he was under the Sorting Hat, Finn had his fingers crossed for Hufflepuff, which he got and breathed a sigh of relief for. His family, on the other hand, were monumentally disappointed in his sorting, being nearly entirely Slytherins.

Finn was often given the cold shoulder when at home, especially after his first break home. After that, he resolved to stay at Hogwarts the entire year.

It tended to get rather lonely on the holidays, with most everyone leaving. But, during his 3rd year, someone new stayed behind. She was a Gryffindor stuck in a Ravenclaw if Finn had ever seen one. A wild girl with her heart set on adventure, but her mind set on books. Her name was Maeve. And Maeve stayed with him that holiday, keeping him company since all his other friends went home to their families. She had never stayed any break before, but Maeve explained that all she would have returned to that year was family trying to convince each other to go or not to go somewhere. What was odd was when she stayed again. And again. And again. Every break following that Christmas, Maeve stayed with Finn.

They got romantically involved 2 years later, and Finn had never been happier. On occasion, he'd visit her family over breaks. They were a fun lot to be around, with Maeve having two energetic cousins and many loving aunts and uncles.

Graduation was nothing special to Finn, and he took a year off to do nothing in particular before entering the work force as a Courier. Though, he did read up on healing after seeing what Maeve might face when she became an Auror.

Finn was long since considered part of the family when Maeve proposed. She offered her last name, but Finn was fond of being a Rotanski, even if his family thought it shouldn't belong to him.

They were wed a year later, and 6 years after that, they welcomed their first daughter into the world. Finn quit his job to watch baby June full time, Maeve making more than enough to support all of them.

It wasn't until Lea moved out on her own, Potioneering career well under way, that Finn decided that maybe he should go back to working. Simply to do something with his hands. He now works as a librarian aide at the same library as Donna. The two cross paths often and he loves to distract her with welcome conversation.

Mori is a close friend of Hecate's, which means they are also quite close to Pyce. A chance encounter at a library led to a long-lasting friendship, or more accurately, Hecate following around the older wizard like a lost puppy. Mori took it in stride though, acting as a sort of mentor figure to both twins. Despite being only a few years older, Mori is delighted that they will be able to continue teaching the twins, though mainly Hecate, new things about magic before they learn in school.

Though unknown to the Rotanskis, Mori is a metamorphagus, though they tend not to change much about their appearance at all, opting to be a somewhat short, androgynous, white-haired teen that barely looks any different than they did a year or two ago. Though they do change their eye color from time to time simply to mess with people.

Mori has a proficiency with Transfiguration, and is quite skilled at Defense Against the Dark Arts. They don't care for Care of Magical Critters, much to Pyce's horror, and quite frankly would be completely content to never attend another class for it. It's uncertain why almost every animal, magic or not, dislikes Mori, but they're starting to take it personally. As it stands, they have only barely shaken off the horror of their 4th year where they chose to take it willingly. They are jumping completely into Muggle Studies this year and hope to never have to step outside of the castle walls for a lesson ever, ever again.

Stella is Pyce's best friend, plain and simple. They are only closer to one person, that being Hecate. Surely, if Stella hadn't moved to attend Ilvermorny, she would have been a Gryffindor with her best friend. But, as fate would have it, Stella is now living in Canada. The two write to each other frequently, their poor family owls working overtime to make sure letters arrive on time.

She has a handful of siblings Pyce has met on the occasion, not knowing any of them particularly well. Stella's little brother, Logan, does try to butt in on the pair's outings, much to Stella's annoyance and Pyce's amusement.

As a fellow lover of dragons, Stella managed to befriend Pyce through dragon facts, securing her place as best friend for the rest of their days. She often arranged "dragon hunts" where she and Pyce could go off looking for the magical creatures. They never had any luck, but kept at it, just in case.

Stella is an outgoing girl who tries to make friends with everyone she meets. She has a heart of gold and is in many ways just like Pyce, if not a bit louder. The two were inseparable, and together they made an unstoppable team. With Stella's loud recklessness and Pyce's quiet observation, they covered each other's weaknesses perfectly.

Since most of her time was spent with Pyce, Stella has fallen a bit out of making new friends, as she made sure her closest one never felt left out. Of course, she has been quick to jump back into the swing of things, finding a new friend group and meeting new people out in Canada!

Danny is one of five magical children living in the same neighborhood as Pyce. He also happens to live directly to the left of the Rotanski household. Danny is the youngest of three brothers. He has very little in common with the twins, but they hang out frequently, and rather enjoy each others' company.

Danny is incredibly excited for when he gets to go to Hogwarts! His older brothers were both Gryffindors, so he has his fingers crossed for that house. As it is, Hecate thinks Danny is too much of a Hufflepuff, and Pyce is pretty convinced Danny is Gryffindor material.

There is a level of magical skill, along with a natural talent for a broom that Danny inherited from his mum, who is an international quidditch player. He wants to play for his house when he finally gets to go to Hogwarts.

In the meantime, Danny has settled for sending owls to Pyce and Hecate, learning about the school through their experiences. In exchange, of course, for keeping them up to date on the goings on of the neighborhood, as well as their pet cat, Slime.
