The remembrall. A quaint looking orb filled with smoke. It turns red when you forget things. It'd be really helpful, but Pyce could never remember what they forgot. Which is probably why they didn't own one yet. They supposed it'd probably be helpful when you forgot homework, or the time a class started. It was also the next thing they needed to get on their list of school supplies.

Despite the crowd and general narrowness of Diagon Alley, Pyce and Hecate had made it a point to stick to Katelyn's side for the walk from Flourish and Blotts to Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Hecate got more excited with every step, and Pyce considered it a small miracle he hadn't run off without them.

"Have you ever been to a muggle joke shop? It's kinda like that!" Hecate began to explain with no prompting whatsoever. "But magic! They've got all sorts of stuff in there! Candy too, if you want to try any. And games. Like chess! You'd think Pyce would be good at it, but they're not." Pyce huffed.

"I am so certain you got someone to charm the pieces so you win." Pyce grumbled.

"I think the pieces just like me better." Hecate smirked.

Arriving at the shop, Hecate grandly opened the door for Pyce and Katelyn. Pyce rolled their eyes, but stepped into the loud and colorful chaos first.

I need to draw Hecate and Pyce with that "eating the chess pieces" meme. But aside from that; Welcome! To the next stop on the Rotanski/Magnolia shopping trip! Our trio has just come up from Flourish and Blotts!

Katelyn stared at Hecate for a good minute, her brain buffering as she tried to figure out what he meant by "muggle joke shop". Then it clicked.

"Oh, you must mean the shops that sell stuff for pranks and stuff."

She listened as the two bickered over chess, a little confused about what Hecate meant by the pieces liking him better. "I don't think chess pieces could prefer someone over the other-unless you're talking about magic chess?" It clicked mid sentence that most likely was what they were talking about. She should seriously learn to just assume they're always talking about the magical variant of probably everything at this point.

Moving through the slightly packed shop, she eyed some of the candy on the shelves. There were tons of different sweets, pretty much all of them she wasn't familiar with. She guessed most likely they didn't carry the same sweets that Muggles usually ate. She didn't really have that big of a sweet tooth, but she wasn't opposed to trying some candy. Picking up a box, she read the front that said "Chocolate Frog". "They don't mean...a legit frog made of chocolate..right?" She spoke as she held up the sweet for the others to look at.

"Yes! Magical chess. Which, you think someone couldn't cheat at it." Pyce said whilst glaring at their brother. Hecate shrugged. "The pieces are sentient. Semi-sentient? Which makes for an... Interesting... Experience to say the least."

As they continued through the shop, Pyce kept a close eye on Hecate. The boy had been flitting between the shelves, hands barely ghosting over boxes and books that Pyce was sure they wouldn't want to learn the contents of. Along this walk, the trio came upon various sweets. Pyce had rather muggle tastes for the most part, ginger chews being among their favorite candies. And even then, Hecate said they shouldn't classify as candies, but they were sweet and small! (Hecate actually called them spicy, but Pyce didn't care.)

Pyce was considering a carton of Canary Cremes when Katelyn held up a Chocolate Frog box. "They don't mean...a legit frog made of chocolate..right?" Hecate's smile widened. He wanted to laugh, Pyce could tell, but he must have thought that mean.

"Nah. It's just frog-shaped chocolate. Would be fun to have an actual chocolate frog, though. There's collectable cards in there too." Hecate pointed to some small lettering on the box that said just that. "All sorts of famous witches and wizards on those. I think the Hogwarts Headmaster is on one of those."

"He is. I have him. Solomon Lear." Pyce stated, picking up a nearby box of Fizzing Whizzbees. It was a treat they were incredibly fond of, side effect and all. It was quite tempting to buy the box but... Shopping did need to be done. Especially before Hecate got any bright ideas about anything sold here.

"Oh..." Well now Katelyn felt stupid for asking. Setting the box down, she followed the two through the store, often having to duck out of the way of flying candy. The place was like a sensory overload of loud, chaotic fun, enchanted candy, and other stuff flying around. At one point, she was sure she saw fireworks flying around the shop. There were many bright lights and flashing colors from stalls for candies and items. She could see some kids experiencing different effects from the candies, such as sticking and walking on the walls or floating in the air. She then remembered why they were even there to begin with: to get this Remembrall. "So..this Remembrall. Just how does it help you remember stuff you've forgotten?" She didn't quite understand how a ball essentially was supposed to help you remember something you forgot, but then again she didn't understand pretty much everything that's been happening today.

As they moved through the store, she spotted a group of students who looked a lot older than her, with what looked like something akin to sports equipment, and almost all of them were holding broomsticks. "Um...what's with those guys over there? With all that stuff that looks like sports gear with the broomsticks?

"Honestly- I'm not exactly sure how the Remembrall does help. It turns red when you've forgotten something. Maybe to help you recall it sooner?" As the trio made their was through the store, scanning the shelves for the one item they needed, a group of what appeared to be Quidditch players walked past. Pyce didn't really linger on them, not until Kate asked about it, but Hecate was staring gleefully the whole time. Which was silly. Hecate didn't even like brooms.

"They're for Quidditch!" Hecate cheered, loud enough for Pyce and Katelyn to hear, but not loud enough to attract the attention of the older students. "It's a wizard sport played on brooms! Did we already tell you brooms fly? I can't remember. But they do! It's super cool!"

"Says the person afraid of heights." Pyce mumbled under their breath. Hecate shot them a look. "I think brooms are pretty cool. Each Hogwarts house has their own Quidditch and broom racing teams. I'd like to join one. Our mum has never let us on a broom before." Pyce looked at the brooms, considering. "They can get pretty expensive though. And first years aren't allowed brooms at Hogwarts. So if I did join, I'd be stuck on a school broom. And who knows how those fly." Pyce didn't actually mind the school brooms, the thought of flying far outweighed the possible slowness of said flight. Pyce and Hecate were opposites like that, with Pyce yearning to be in the skies, and fearing the water below, while Hecate thrived in the oceanic, and couldn't deal with being too far off the ground.

Katelyn jumped slightly at Hecate's excited voice as she turned to look at him before glancing back to the Quidditch players. She chuckled lightly at Pyce's jab towards Hecate's fear of heights. "That sounds cool. So how does it work? Is it all in the air then? She wasn't sure if she would join a sport she barely understood like Quidditch but it at least peaked her interest as they pushed through the crowded store to look for wherever the Remembralls were.

As they walked deeper into the store, she saw some small, clear balls on a shelf. Of course, it was on a high shelf, just barely out of reach for her. She reached up, standing on her tippy toes. "Of course it had to be this high up...couldn't put it closer to the ground...dang it!" Her fingers brushed against the box before she finally found her grip on one. Grabbing one, she held it up, the cardboard container it was in read "Remembrall". She held it up to the twins. "Hey, I think I found the Remembralls. It's these things right?" She spoke as she pushed her way through some people who gathered between her and the pair. Once on the other side, she held up the object to them.

"It is! But that's why broom sports are so cool! I don't know all the rules to Quidditch, never bothered to learn, but I'm sure it's fun. Very popular, at least." Pyce continued walking next to Kate. "Broom racing is more straight forward. You have a start, a finish, obstacles, and magic. Or- At least I think it's straight forward. You don't have to deal with bludgers and trying to catch the golden snitch." Pyce thought for a short moment before continuing. "Did you know Quidditch was originally played with a creature called a Golden Snidget? They're not anymore, that's why we have the snitch. And there's Snidget sanctuaries now! Because they're an endangered species. But it's nice that there's such a wide attempt to keep them safe. I've seen one before! They're pretty small and fly just like hummingbirds! I wonder if there's a sanctuary close enough to here where we could see one..." It was probably the only information they had on Quidditch. Fascinating stuff. They couldn't imagine playing a game with a live creature. It really was a good thing that the practice had been stopped. Pyce was too lost in thought to realize that Katelyn had found the remembralls until Hecate had responded to her question.

"That would be them!" Hecate said, examining the orb. "Where'd you find them?"

"They were on the top shelf." Katelyn spoke with a huff as she spund around, intending to grab two more. Standing on her tippy toes again, she reached up towards the shelf; had she been older and taller, it wouldn't have been nearly as big a struggle as it currently was. Curse her height. As her small hand desperately patted around for another Remembrall, she'd accidently push them futher back.

"Did they...have to put them on the top...freaking shelf?" She spoke as she kept trying to reach them. After scoffing in irritation, she put one foot on a shelf and pushed up to reach the Remembralls again, being mindful not to step on any merchandise on the shelf below. It was a miracle that no adult had noticed the small ginger girl scaling up the shelves to reach the top shelf. It could be thanks to just how chaotic the shop was that seeing a child climbing some shelves might not seem as crazy a sight.

"Almost...got them..." She strained as she managed to wrap her fingers around two Remembralls only for her to lose her grip on one of the shelves. Her eyes widened as she barely uttered out a "Oh no" before she began to fall from the shelves.

"Of course it's on the top shelf. Why wouldn't they be? It's not like first years are required to buy one for school." Hecate snarked, crossing his arms. While Hecate was complaining, Pyce watched Katelyn attempt to get the box. Attempt, because it didn't seem she could reach it anymore from just standing on her tip toes.

Eventually, Hecate took notice too. Around the same time, Katelyn started to climb the shelf.

"Be careful!" Pyce squeaked out. All that talk about heights was just fine and dandy, but scaling a shelf of considerable height was different. In the way flying on a broom and walking a tightrope were both high up. One was considerably more daunting, no matter how comfortable with heights.

"Aw, it's fine! Look at her! Have some confidence, Pie!" Pyce was looking at Kate, and that's how they noticed when she started to fall.

"KATELYN!" Pyce screeched, making a valiant attempt to catch their friend. In their panic, Pyce forgot a few very crucial things about themself. The first, they were hardly any stronger than any other eleven-year-old, barely able to pick up Hecate on a good day. The second, they were quite easily flattened. The third, which was less about themself and more about their brother, was that Hecate was a rat bastard who was more likely to laugh at Pyce than help out, granted the situation wasn't actually serious. And if Pyce was to become a pancake, and Kate be unwounded, Hecate would laugh at them. Not Kate. He'd help her up just fine.

And all that went through their head in the mere moment they had left to think.

Katelyn let out a screech of fear as she plummeted from the shelves. It felt like everything was going in slow motion, like time was dragged out, when in reality, it was no more than a few seconds she was falling before she fell onto Pyce with a loud welp of minor pain as the pair crumbled to the ground in a heap. A few people glanced at the pair on the ground, but as the saying goes, kids will be kids, and thus, they were left to pick themselves up.

She'd lie on top of Pyce for a good moment as her mind tried to catch up with her body, as she let out a small groan of pain. With a shaky hand, she lifted up the two Remembralls she had grabbed. "Take that...you stupid shelves..ugh-" She croacked out as she dropped her arm with another exasperated groan.

She wouldn't even be fully aware that her fall was broken, thanks to Pyce, until Hecate, sounding like a damn hyena, with the way he was laughing his butt off and helped her up. "Why are you laughing so much-" As she turned around she could see Pyce on the ground, sadly crushed under her when she fell. She let out a gasp and kneeled to their side. "Oh god, I'm so sorry, Pyce!" She shook Pyce, trying to see if they were even conscious.
