Ability 2 [Lovely Creature] | +2 DC in adventures to find things or control dcThe boy watched the plant shrivel- metaphorically- as he cast Lumos, wondering why he even bothered to try to trap Zoya in that room given how wimpy this plant was. What was so scary about light? Vladislav thought back to the death card, the one he saw before he went into the room and tried to shove it out of his mind. Surely he wasn't going to die doing this.. right? The Director surely would not put Vladislav in harms way just for.. what was he doing here again?
The wand lighting charm still going strong, as he looked at two doors. Sigh. Which would he choose, which was the door Zoya went into? Brown.. or magenta?
Vladislav sighed again, walking towards the pink door, attempting to yell loud enough for her to hear, maybe even loud enough for the Director to hear. "YOU WAIT FOR ME! IF YOU DIE, IT WILL NOT BE MY FAULT BUT IF I DO, YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE." A stupid statement, but a semi-coherent one regardless.
He put his hand on the doorhandle to the magenta door and leaned up against it, his right arm sandwiched between his upper torso and the door. "Ready or not, here I come!" The American said, pretending it was a game of hide and seek, at least just in that brief moment. His wand remained whipped out but he wanted to cast something else.Action: Entering Magenta Room and casting Serpensortia

Roleplaying as Irina Afanasyeva from Koldovstoretz - Link to Encyclopedia
English = 5D4A64 | Russian = 4E7A27
Irina sprinted across the room with her shield, successfully protecting herself from the onslaught of rain pouring down. It was a good idea, but the room was filled with puddles and Irina hadn't thought about attempting to jump around them so had soaked the bottom half of her legs. Running into the olive green door, Irina first noticed just how wet her shoes and socks were. She could handle a bit of rain, but having to now complete the rest of this exploration with wet socks was going to be a horrible mental test. She didn't have the time to stop and dry herself off so was stuck trying to move even faster through the undergrounds.
Looking around the new classroom, Irina was happy to see that no danger was obviously present that she had to work her way through. The classroom appeared to be one for language studies, with posters of a number of languages sticking out to Irina. She had always wanted to learn more languages and found it curious that this room existed yet wasn't used. To Irina it felt as though Koldovstoretz had the possibility of training for the international magical world rather than primarily the Russian one. Due to the history of the Conservatory, the decision to remove this subject in favor of others made sense to Irina, but she wished the language learning opportunity was open for her. Irina considered staying in this classroom to peer at some of the textbooks and scrolls just to understand what language resources the room held.
Regardless of her desire to inspect the language books, Irina focused on the next set of doors. For the first time in her exploration, she had two doors to choose from. The one ahead to the left appeared was slightly ajar and part of a forest with roots wrapping around the doorknob. Then the other option was a simple red door on the right. Irina had no idea if the green door would take her into a forest or what would be within the trees, but she wanted to try it over a regular door. If she left this classroom without trying out the forest, Irina would want to return to try the door. Therefore, Irina decided she would try to enter the forest green door and would need all of her strength to open it. Luckily Irina thought ahead and brought a a vial of strengthening solution with her. Taking the vial out of her pouch with the note, Irina drank the potion and attempted to enter the forest door.

Banner credit to @Prat Pass. With no students left in the main room to keep him company, Aulis grew bored quickly. Though he had brought plenty of things to do - his tarot cards, for instance - with no audience the performer lacked anyone to whom he could perform.
Rummaging about in the pockets of his oversized, yet excellently tailored and pressed to perfection, overcoat looking for something to do, he found an old piece of paper balled up in one pocket. It was covered in cyrillic scribbles, no doubt an old to-do list of some sort; to entertain himself, Aulis pointed his wand at the parchment scrap and whispered, "Charteus Avis." successful WIS roll, see rolls below It rose into the air and folded itself into the shape of a small origami bird, and with waves of his wand, the Director proceeded to dance the paper bird around the entrance chamber, whistling a small tweety tune.
Boredom did great things to a man.
In the other rooms, however, his students could not say the same.
MAGENTA DOOR: @Clark Baird
You follow your would-be victim through the magenta door, finding the room on the other side empty of any persons, likely to your disappointment. Though students may not recognise the Koldovstoretz record-keeping room as they enter, it does not seem to be abandoned and is in fact well-lit and crammed with what appear to be маглы filing cabinets labelled with various Cyrillic letters spelling out the entire alphabet from one end of the pentagon-shaped room to the other. Before your very eyes, papers whirl themselves out of one nearby cabinet over to a vertical desk hung on the far wall, where one of several hand-carved wooden writing instruments scribble something invisible on the parchment; the parchments then whirl themselves right back into their cabinet. Above the desk on the wall, a fiery phrase flickers in Russian: Сотрудники могут читать все, а ученики - только свои. Нарушите правило и почувствуете последствия. This translates to "Staff can read everything and students can only read their own. Break the rule and you will feel the consequences." No parchments seem to have been disturbed by the person you're chasing; however, upon entrance, you summon a snake from your wandtip successful WIS roll; see rolls below. So now you're in a records room with a sssssssssilly little companion. In addition to the door through which you just entered, there are two more doors: a closed light grey door and a slightly cracked dark grey door.
DEEP BLUE DOOR: @Eugenia Karageorgiadi
In the yellow room, you slot the found planets into the deep blue door successful solving of the puzzle, no rolls required. The door clicks open, allowing you to go through; when you do, you find yourself wandering through a hallway to the next room, which only takes you a moment. This smallish next room, which appears to be some sort of an abandoned storage closet, has been overrun by pests! You're no exterminator, but it's pretty evident when you step into the closet and see that the likely once-full shelves have been scavenged to bareness by a veritable horde of bright blue Cornish pixies, who immediately spot you upon entry. Considering that those aren't even native to this region, you're not sure how they originally got here, but they've certainly been living here a while. A few break off from the horde and head right towards you, and you'll definitely have to dodge or magic your way out of this if you want to head out of either of the two doors on your left (one lilac, one orange)!
FOREST GREEN DOOR: @Lavinia Cloven
You pull a Strengthening Solution from your inventory and drink it (+4 to STR for next 3 rounds including this one), then attempt to shove open the forest green door which appears to be entangled and blocked by tree roots and vines coming from within. With the boost from your potion, you easily shove it open, breaking some of the roots with woody-sounding snaps as you do so (successful STR check; see rolls below), and head into the next room. As you do so, you only take a few steps in before you find yourself completely lost! This room is so totally overgrown with what appear to be thick, hearty tree roots, or maybe they're trunks, growing straight down through the dirt above and disappearing into the dirt below, that for a moment you think you might be in a forest instead of an underground classroom -- but then you see a tree that seems to have crunched its way right through an old desk, and you remember where you are. Still, you're too lost in this maze of trees and roots to see any doors, even the one through which you just entered. You don’t even know which way is north! How will you find a way out? [Travel actions are inadmissible in this room. You have to get out first! However, you can put in your action that if you find a door via whatever action you choose you will go through it so as not to waste a travel round.]
DARK GREY DOOR: @Logan Baird
You're still in the smallish dark room used as a Defence Against the Dark Arts-adjacent storage closet. The Boggart, blocking the scarlet door on the other side of the room, has taken the form of a vampire familiar to you; your casting of Expelliarmus, while successfully cast successful WIS roll; see rolls below, does nothing to harm or disarm him. Instead, he turns and grins at you, slowly and menacingly, revealing sharp, pointed teeth. However, he doesn't move towards you at all... just stays where he is... which is odd for a vampire, right?

Ability 2 [Lovely Creature] | +2 DC in adventures to find things or control dcHe opened the magenta door and stared at the Crylic letters. The ones his mom used to write in.. it just made him wish she did not die, but if she did not, he would not even be attending Koldovstoretz. He read the letters en flambe and frowned, deciding to yell as loud as he could hoping that the Director would hear his dissatisfaction. "[BADWORD] THAT!" He exclaimed, "I'M COMING BACK TONIGHT TO READ THESE." No, he really was not.
But why not say he would?
Vladislav looked at the two doors, two different shades of Gray. He smiled at the sight of his snake in the room, but he knew it wasn't really something he could control. If it could attack the next person, he'd likely be pleased. Hopefully it wouldn't attack him.
The American walked towards the DARK GRAY door and banged on it hard. "COMING THROUGH!" He yelled.
He switched to English for a brief second, ditching the Russian language. "Why are there some horrifying stuff down here.." He switched back to Russian, hoping no one understood English. He would've seen others as weak if they said that, so if they heard what he said.. well.. he didn't want to be seen as weak.
His wand was still out, so what spell was he going to cast as a follow-up? Engorgio. Why not make this next room's unknown horror bigger? As soon as her spell did nothing, Zoya attempted to scramble away in a rush. All he was doing was grinning menacingly at her, which confused the girl greatly. Why was he not coming after her? Why was he just standing there? Why had the spell not worked? Numerous questioned flickered through the girl's mind as she took deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself. The tears running down her face remained unnoticed, too consumed by the fear that made her heart want to beat out of her chest. If she could just calm herself, the Russian girl would be able to think more rationally.
Glancing around the room, Zoya attempted to find a spot to put space between herself and her biggest fear. Maybe if there was space between them, she would be able to think more. He had not gone after her yet, so maybe he would not do it now. The girl scampered to the corner of the room, her breathing and the pounding of her heart the only noises she could hear.
As soon as she reached the corner, she took a deep breath and attempted to think. Why was he here? The vampire would have had to get through campus and down here to find her, which was improbable. Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind. Maybe the vampire wasn't here after all.

This represented as a 10% auto-fail rate for anyone besides the Dhampir (or other Dhampirs) to perform an action or cast a spell. Unfortunately, this prevents a dhampir from being hidden (entering stealth) when in use. As such any attempts to be hidden in a topic while this is on would automatically fail. However, a dhampir can turn off their aura at the cost of an action (unlike those that have the ability terrible presence) and as an action turn back on their aura. This ability does not stack in intensity when multiple Dhampirs have it activated.
Note: This can be countered by the ability Fearless. This stacks with Terrible Presence. In fact, a dhampir can turn off their Terrible Presence as well.
Magical Menace
The vampire portion of the dhampir is not a caster-capable race. While magical and a part of the wizarding world, dhampirs find casting spells to be a bit more difficult. As such, they lack the control other wizards might have. This is represented by a -1 accuracy and a +1 critical failure chance when casting a spell.
What is a Critical Failure? A critical failure is where you roll a 1 (or within the extended range if applicable) and the spell ends up backfiring or an unexpected effect happens which is often disastrous to the caster.

Her head hurt a bit, and the awkward first second silence between her and the room faded. She turned her head and tried to see behind her back. Nobody was there.
But inside the room was a horde of pixies. It looked like a storeroom, only a barren and rotten one. She didn’t want to even look at it, but some of the Cornish pixies headed towards her at full speed. Iriliya would then try to dodge them, as if they were incoming spells from her duelling matches. That did little to calm her down, because she had to bolt to the door. With all these pixies going head on at her. She saw two doors, one lilac, one orange, just as before. But now, she had to make a choice.
Lilac gate, it seemed closer to her. She went there. That was her choice. But this meant that if she wanted to change trajectory, she’d have to go through this flying batch of devils again. She sighed, there was nothing she could do. “Глупые пикси.” Stupid pixies. With newfound strength, Irina threw the forest green door open and found herself inside of a forest. It was shocking what was waiting in the undergrounds for her, first the directors office, then a rainstorm, and now a forest. Taking a second, Irina wondered what rooms her classmates were going through, perhaps one had a tornado room or a desert room. Irina was happy with her path so far and was continuing until she got bored or found the entrance again.
The forest room was so hard to see in not because of lighting but because all the trees were tightly packed together, trapping her in. Irina was immediately lost and wanted to get out of this forest room without exploring too much. Since she was lost the maze of trees, Irina decided the only way to move was to travel in one direction and not wander around. To find a certain direction to travel, Irina decided to cast the four point spell and go north. If she just followed in her north direction then maybe she would find a wall and then hopefully a door. Hoping for the best, Irina cast the spell, pushed herself off the tree, and started north!

Banner credit to @Prat Pass.It had grown suspiciously quiet in the entry point, and Aulis was beginning to worry about his students. Sure, they were capable, but if any of them ran into real trouble down here, would he be liable for their injuries -- or, worse, their deaths?
Grumbling, the Director pushed himself up out of his chair and headed for the pale green door. To be quite honest, the American following the dhampir student was certainly cause for concern. Luckily, Aulis knew magic; he could likely move faster than the students through the rooms, and as he cast the Tracking Spell successful WIS roll, see rolls below to follow the dhampir girl's path, he steeled himself for a fast track. The quicker he could check on them, the better.
DEEP BLUE DOOR: @Irina Liliya Zvereva
In the storage closet full of Cornish pixies, you dodge those which came flying at you upon your entrance successful EVA check, see rolls below as easily as if they were feathers rather than angry azure attackers. You quickly enter the lilac door, shutting it behind you so the pixies can't follow, and look to the area you have just entered. This room should be familiar to all students who take their studies seriously, as it's commonly utilized as a study hall or a generally comfortable and warm place for students to take refuge and quietly work on whatever interests them during the school day when the caverns are open. Located directly underneath the lake, and yet somehow one of the driest and warmest places on campus, it features a large fireplace on one wall (a school-wide mystery, as no one can ever figure out where the smoke goes), as well as several rows of desks and chairs, each with its own individual candle and footrest. As always, several of your peers seem to have left school supplies here accidentally, and you are able to see many stray quills and jars of ink haphazardly scattered over the desks. In addition to the door through which you just entered, there are two other doors you can take to exit: one beige and one a very familiar orange.
DARK GREY DOOR: @Zoya Chernova and @Vladislav Liam Gunther
The Defence Against the Dark Arts-adjacent storage closet of a room (Vladislav can refer to this mod post for the room description) is beginning to seem crowded with three of you in there: an American, a dhampir, and a boggart. It seems like the beginning of a bad joke, and even worse for Zoya, as she casts Riddikulus only to have her casting fall a few spoons short of a silverware drawer failed WIS roll, see rolls below; the vampire leers at her once more, and then seems to grow to twice its size (even bonking its head slightly on the ceiling!) as Vladislav enters and, not put off by his dhampir companion's unsettling aura, casts Engorgio successful WIS roll, see rolls below. Now you have a big-gart, and worse still, it's yet blocking the scarlet door...
FOREST GREEN DOOR... AND BEYOND: @Lavinia Cloven/@Irina Afanasyeva
Lost and wandering in the overgrown underground forest, you cast Point Me as an attempt to figure out how to escape; your wand points directly north with a successful cast successful WIS roll, see rolls below, and you follow the wandtip's point through trunks, over roots, between the brush until you see... a single door. A shimmering solid gold (just in colour, though, not in material), the door is the only escape point you see, and you easily open it and slip through to get out of the forest.
However, you stop in your tracks when you see what's on the other side of the door.
This room seems to be the oldest of all, with spiderwebs covering every inch of it -- from the bookshelves lining the walls to the old-fashioned tables and chairs scattered haphazardly around in clusters. It doesn't seem like anyone has seen this room in a very long time, and judging by the veritable forest you had to navigate just to get here, you're not surprised that it seems to have been untouched for seemingly decades. However, as you peer around the old hideaway of a classroom, you notice a shaft of light coming from behind a bookshelf, and pushing it out of the way you uncover a sunlit set of stairs leading upwards -- unexpected, seeing as how you came down the only known entry point down into these underground rooms, and it definitely was at a completely different spot. Upon climbing up the stairs, you find yourself clambering right out from underneath the counter at Alexievich's, one of the few permanent stores on campus. Now you understand why the bald, ancient owner is always so grouchy about students coming behind the counter -- he's been hiding the second entrance for who knows how long. Congratulations -- your name will go down in the Koldovstoretz history books as the student who rediscovered the second entrance to the underground caverns!

Allyssa broke into a wide grin as she found herself in the ballroom. She loved dancing, but as she glanced around the room, she knew that she didn’t have time to be distracted. Turning in a slow circle, she took in the room as if putting it into storage.
After a momentary pause, she took a deep breath, tightening her grip on her wand for whatever lay next. Slowly, she began to make her way across the room towards the door. ”I’m not gonna turn back from a challenge.” She muttered under her breath.
A few feet from the door, she stopped and glanced back one final time. She wasn’t going to let her desire to dance win this time. She was going to find out what was next. Turning back to face the door, she took another deep breath and reached out to push the door open.
She wasn’t going to back down. Her favorite hobby wasn’t about to distract her from finding out what lay beyond. A final shake of her head as she swept her hair from her eyes, and she stepped into the next room. Her feet stood firmly planted in the doorway, her wand in front of her as if it were a shield.
