After going through the white door, Iriliya didn’t expect to see anything important. Oh she was so dearly wrong. In the room had come two other girls: Schmidt and Athanatos. The latter, she vaguely remembered, she was a first year, and the other one was probably also there for the fall ball. She didn’t go, but they were in the same tent regardless.

The classroom looked like their own potions room, only difference it looked like it was bombarded or something. Her eyes searched furiously to find something important. And she found something. A path, clear among the junk of the room. Well, not really, but it was something. Iriliya had played hopscotch when she was younger. So she knew how to jump from tile to tile, even if they were afar. She was, indeed, really competitive; if she could do something, she had to show it.

Sending the pastel pink door a final look, she began walking down the path, a few jumps here and there. Nervously, she grabbed the doorknob, turning around to look at the room. This exertion had her panting. Nothing like jumping from place to place just to go through a door. But there was something there. An old yellow paper which, upon closer inspection, proved to be a piece of yellowing parchment, an old floor plan, inked out. She knew it was deliberate.

A scribble at the bottom caught her attention. A lost exit? Quietly, she paused for a minute, pondering. Confidently, she put the parchment in her pocket and walked through the yellow door, eyes as observant as ever.

Zoya did not even have a moment to react before she heard the boy who had entered the room with her start yelling before the door was slammed shut. "HEY!" The dhampir yelled in response as she ran back over to the door, pushing on it only to feel a force keeping it closed. "You are not going to get away with this!" It was an empty threat, there was no much she could do really, but he did not need to know that.

With a frustrated huff, the brunette finally got a moment to turn around and see what she was dealing with, having been too distracted by the boy to actual get a good look before. "Shit" she muttered as Zoya's eyes adjusted to the rather large plant taking up most of the room. The boy who had left the room had said the wand lighting spell, but what was that one. 'Ventus, no. Steleus....no not that one'

To say spell casting was Zoya's strong suit would be a complete lie. The girl could never remember which spells did what, what the wand movements were, or even the pronunciations half the time. It took her a bit, but she did finally remember the spell and she hoped it wasn't going to burn her at all.

Unsettling Aura
This represented as a 10% auto-fail rate for anyone besides the Dhampir (or other Dhampirs) to perform an action or cast a spell. Unfortunately, this prevents a dhampir from being hidden (entering stealth) when in use. As such any attempts to be hidden in a topic while this is on would automatically fail. However, a dhampir can turn off their aura at the cost of an action (unlike those that have the ability terrible presence) and as an action turn back on their aura. This ability does not stack in intensity when multiple Dhampirs have it activated.

Note: This can be countered by the ability Fearless. This stacks with Terrible Presence. In fact, a dhampir can turn off their Terrible Presence as well.

Magical Menace
The vampire portion of the dhampir is not a caster-capable race. While magical and a part of the wizarding world, dhampirs find casting spells to be a bit more difficult. As such, they lack the control other wizards might have. This is represented by a -1 accuracy and a +1 critical failure chance when casting a spell.

What is a Critical Failure? A critical failure is where you roll a 1 (or within the extended range if applicable) and the spell ends up backfiring or an unexpected effect happens which is often disastrous to the caster.

Aulis had just settled into his chair, his six voluntolds having vanished into their various chosen rooms, when suddenly a loud noise nearby startled him; he bolted upwards just in time to see the pale green door (through which Gunther and Chernova had just entered) fly open once more, and out came who else but the American, who promptly slammed the door shut and leaned up against it. "You're not getting away from this. Save me, save us, save Vladislav," he said through the door, and Aulis frowned; was he trying to trap the Chernova girl within, with whatever horrors lay through the door? He moved as if to stand, but before he even could, the boy's hands slipped and he thunked into the wall beside the door failed Strength check, see rolls below; clearly, even without any pressure from the other side, he had not quite been strong enough to bar anyone from coming through. The pale green door creaked slightly open to reveal a light, that bobbed within and then vanished through the small crack.

Aulis held back a chuckle as he stood and moved to stand over Gunther, staring down at him. "Obviously your American views are still strong in you," he said coolly, making no effort to help the boy up. "Haven't you learned that a group is stronger together than apart? Perhaps I should remind your Charms Vemak to assign you more partner projects so you can learn to work in a group."

And with that, he returned to his chair.
MAIN ROOM: @Clark Baird

Back where you began, you now have the option of returning through the pale green door you've just slammed closed (and failed to keep closed... go to the gym once in a while, bro!), or you could pick from one of the three other options nearby: white, pastel pink, or hot pink. Or you could hang out here with Director Vorozheykin instead. He seems cool, and not at all frustrated with you.
YELLOW DOOR: @Eugenia Karageorgiadi

Group 7 students, or those who simply enjoy the stars, will recognise this as the astronomy classroom. Though most Koldovstoretz astronomy lessons occur outside on the lakeshore, the occasional theory lesson is held underground in this large, yet cluttered, campy room with its dirt walls painted a cracked, peeling navy blue. Several lit lanterns with decoratively carved shields nearby project moving light displays onto the walls and ceiling, giving the impression that students are in the middle of an accurate, ever-expanding model of the universe. Several shelves full of rolled-up star charts, old planet and system models made by students for various projects, and a large variety of astronomical instruments make up the far wall. Other than the door you just entered, there is only one other exit on the opposite side of the same wall: a big, heavy-looking, and very locked deep blue door with a huge wheel in the center, decorated with three-dimensional versions of your solar system - except several of the planets seem to have fallen off or vanished, perhaps rolled away to various corners throughout the room. It doesn't seem like you'll be able to open the locked door without them... but because of your scrutinizing gaze looking around the room successful perception check - rolls below, you very quickly find the three missing planets: one beneath a desk, one high on a shelf, and the third lodged beneath the gap between the door itself and the dirt floor beneath your shoes. Now it's just a matter of putting them back! One is small and red, one covered in blue with green blotches, and the third is sandy-coloured with a big scarlet spot on one side. It looks like you need to put them in a certain order, so which do you put first (closest to the sun at the top), second, and third (farthest from the sun at the top)? [This will be considered an action. If successful, you will be able to enter the door as your next round's Travel action.]
PALE BLUE DOOR: @Lavinia Cloven

Underneath the shore of the lake, the rooms seem wetter now. Perhaps it's lakewater, runoff seeping through the dirt underneath it to drip through the ceiling... or perhaps it's not, as you emerge into the next room to find a giant, crackling storm cloud clustered near the ceiling. Squinting through the fat droplets of rain that hurtle with such vitriol and force towards the ground, splattering forcefully into the muddied dirt beneath your feet, that you can only assume it would hurt to take one of those droplets to your flesh, you can vaguely see a single olive green door through the downpour, excluding the one though which you just came in from the Director's office. The question, now, becomes how to get to it, because there's no way you can search what appear to be nearby abandoned, empty desks in this storm, so the only thing to do is get out. Do you beat a hasty retreat, run through the drops and hope you dodge them well enough, or try to magic your way across? However, before you can make your decision, you spot a small wad of parchment floating on top of the closest puddle to you successful perception check, see rolls below; upon grabbing it and trying to pry it open, you are able to see that it's a torn page from a book with the Director's name and another, Daniil, written atop it. However, the water seems to have washed the ink from the page mostly away, and there are only a few blotchy, smudged words visible, sketched in black Cyrillic: lonely, entangled, last, crystal, and groom, in that order. An intriguing find indeed... [Getting across the room is an action you will need to complete before your Travel action.]
MAGENTA DOOR: @Logan Baird

You successfully cast Lumos successful Wis roll, see rolls below and the Devil's Snare seems to shrink back from the bright light that begins to emanate from your wandtip. As such, you're able to walk confidently to the magenta door, open it, and go through to find... well, what is this place? Though students may not recognise the Koldovstoretz record-keeping room as they enter, it does not seem to be abandoned and is in fact well-lit and crammed with what appear to be маглы filing cabinets labelled with various Cyrillic letters spelling out the entire alphabet from one end of the pentagon-shaped room to the other. Before your very eyes, papers whirl themselves out of one nearby cabinet over to a vertical desk hung on the far wall, where one of several hand-carved wooden writing instruments scribble something invisible on the parchment; the parchments then whirl themselves right back into their cabinet. Above the desk on the wall, a fiery phrase flickers in Russian: Сотрудники могут читать все, а ученики - только свои. Нарушите правило и почувствуете последствия. This translates to "Staff can read everything and students can only read their own. Break the rule and you will feel the consequences." Though there's no immediate danger before you, you can hear the Devil's Snare rustling in your former room as the door shuts behind you... clearly, anyone who wants to go back in there will need to defeat it again. In addition to the door through which you just entered, there are two more doors on varying sides of the pentagon: one light grey and the other dark grey. Care for a grey adventure?
A reminder to all students that you get TWO actions: a Travel action (such as "go through x door") and a non-Travel action (including "examine such-and-such" or "look around"). Sometimes you will need to complete a non-Travel action to be able to have access to the other doors in your room; please post a Travel action as if you are going to succeed. Please specifically clarify both of your actions at the beginning or end of your post.
Failure to clarify your actions will result in them not being rolled for.
Next rolls will take place May 22.

Vladislav grunted, so humiliated that he couldn't manage to keep the door shut that he slipped. He looked up at the Director above him. He so badly wanted to say something horrendous to him. But detention was theoretically worse if he made that choice.

The american stood up, staring back at the Director and made sure that he was very expressive when he scoffed to show disrespect, but he would not say a word. No, he would not be verbally assaulting him. Not yet anyways.

He ignored the fact that the Head returned to his seat. He turned back towards the Pastel Pink door and groaned, hating the fact that he decided to be a fool and step out. God, he needed to be better, to do better.

He turned the door handle, but not entering yet. He was still in the main room. He just needed to remember what it was he needed to cast before he could enter.

He whipped out his wand, grumbling as he tried to remember what the incantation was in the heat of the moment, with his annoyance getting the better of him. Lumi? Lurno? God what was that spell? If he had a matchbook and stick he would've started a fire but no, he was irresponsible. If he were a boys scout, he would've disappointed the scout leader. He turned his wand and moved it towards his eyes, barely centimetres away to look at the wood and try to remember the incantation.

I don't like bright colors, but there might be something interesting in that room. Allyssa let out a long breath, her gaze flickering between the two doors. After a moment's debate, she shrugged and turned toward the pastel pink door, sliding her wand back into her pocket. She carefully nudged the pieces of glass together, trying to form a small yet clear path to the door. Taking a deep breath, she squatted down with a stiff groan and carefully used her hands to help move the glass to one side, thinking it would be quicker.

She forced herself to ignore her thoughts while she moved the glass to one side, trying not to cut herself on a sharp or even dull edge. 'Don't get impatient, don't get impatient." She muttered under her breath. She wanted to make a safe path if others wanted to come after.

Placing one hand on the wall beside her for balance, she hoped that her attempts at creating a pile full of glass shards would be successful. Just then, a thought entered her mind, and she pulled out her wand again, pointing it at the broken glass before muttering quietly, "Oculus Reparo." She wasn't sure if anything would come of it, but it was always better to find out.

A sigh of relief was the only thing that could be heard from Zoya as she scrambled out of the room with the Devil's Snare and through the magenta door. The blood pop she was previously sucking on long forgotten on the floor of the room before. The older girl was honestly not sure what she would have done if Lumos had not worked, but she did not need to think about that now.

Looking around the room that she had entered, Zoya began to question the other ways that people got into this room. It was obviously not completely abandoned, papers flying around the room and lights keeping most of the room visible. Carefully reading Russian above the desk, Zoya decided to not investigate other records. While the consequences could not be too bad, she already had to deal with a Devil's Snare and did not want to experience more of that.

She could read her own records if she really felt like it, and for a moment Zoya really considered it, but maybe it was better if she did not know what information lay in those files. With the shake of her head, the Russian girl headed towards the dark grey door, hoping it lead to something safe, or at least not going to eat her.

Roleplaying as Irina Afanasyeva from Koldovstoretz - Link to Encyclopedia
English = 5D4A64 | Russian = 4E7A27
Entering the pale blue room, Irina hoped that it was someplace new she had never visited. Once her eyes focused on the room in front of her, Irina realized this room was one of the reasons that the undergrounds were not explored. A massive storm cloud was raging above her and a form of rain was coming down at an extremely high force. The storm was inside, and the rain was coming down so fast that Irina knew it had to be magical of some kind. Additionally, due to the nature of the undergrounds, the dirt flooring had turned to mud under the rain which meant it would be even harder to pass through this room.

The scattered abandoned desks around the room were intriguing to Irina. She knew that loads of secrets were hidden within them and it would be fun to really explore what was down here. The storm was bothering Irina though, it was so hard to even see the room she was in and without a serious weather altering spell, Irina wouldn't be able to remove the storm. Additionally, this storm seemed to have magical qualities due it being inside and Irina did not want to take a chance of making it worse. In all honesty, Irina needed to continue on out of this room and maybe come back to it with some more support.

Glancing around in the room, Irina's eyes caught on a wad of parchment floating in a puddle close to her. She reached out to grab it and slowly opened it up. The paper was torn out of a book and obviously had a ton of water damage with most of the ink appearing to have been washed away in some capacity. However, Irina could make out a few names written on the top of the paper. Both the director and the name Daniil were written along with the smudged words of lonely, entangled, last, crystal, and groom. Irina knew Daniil, he was a student just a few years older than her and had a love for magical creatures and herbology. They had talked a couple time about potions ingredients and how to properly harvest them while not causing damage to the plant or creature. The words scrawled on the paper were confusing to Irina as well as the relation between Daniil and the director. Irina wanted to spend more time evaluating the paper and inspecting it to find what message was being shared. Shoving the paper into her potions pouch, Irina committed to herself that she would decipher it once she left this rainy room.

The time Irina could spend in this room was starting to dwindle. The rain was pouring down at such an aggressive rate that would be impossible for her to do anymore searching without stronger spells. Irina was now fully focused on making it out of this room and to the olive green door on the other side of the storm. She could cast the umbrella charm and be protected from some of the rain coming down. However, in this downpour there was little an umbrella could do from her getting wet and potentially injured. Irina was of the mindset that a magical cloud underground could take on magical potentially toxic rain. Weather altering spells were also an option, but not a good one for Irina since the cloud already had assumed magical qualities. She could just run for it and hope for the best, yet Irina was not about to get soaked at 10am in the morning. Her best bet was to just cast protego and hope the shield held up under the rain.

Deciding that she would be casting protego around herself, Irina clutched her wand tighter and whispered "Protego" in an attempt to not startle the storm. Then she readied her feet and ran across the room towards the olive green door, hoping her shield would hold up in the storm.

Just as the director sat back down, the American boy managed to make his way to his feet and scoff annoyedly at him. With some of the stricter professors, even such a rude noise could have been grounds for detention -- seriously, did this child forget he went to what was essentially wizarding military school? But Aulis chose to ignore it, simply taking a tarot deck from his pocket and shuffling it absentmindedly. He had improved quite a lot as of late with his sleight of hand, and of course had marked tiny dots onto certain cards' backs that he could see even as he shuffled them face down -- such was the process of falsifying shuffles. The director was looking for three specific tiny dots in a triangle shape, and once he saw them, he specifically let that one slip from the deck and land face-up on the floor by him, whistling absentmindedly as if he had not noticed successful ACC roll, see rolls below.

But if Vladislav looked, he would find the skeletal figure of Death staring up at him from the card amongst the dirt, even as he left back into the pale green room.
PALE GREEN DOOR: @Clark Baird

You're back in the disrepaired Herbology classroom, the Devil's Snare slowly creeping back to take over what seems to be a previously cleared path to the magenta door on the far wall. Other than that, not much has changed here, but you can assume that's where your would-be trapping victim has escaped to; in the future, perhaps trapping someone in a room with two other exits is not the best idea. Your Lumos is powerful enough to make the puffy plant shy back from your very existence successful WIS roll, see rolls below, so it seems that you have your choice of pathways between the brown door to your right and the magenta door through which your intended victim has gone.
PASTEL PINK DOOR: @Elizabeth Stonewall

In the white room with the shattered potions vials on the floor, you crouch and somehow manage to cast a successful Eyeglass Repair Charm despite the glass in question not being from eyeglasses successful WIS roll at disadvantage, see rolls below. The repaired item somehow both resembles a pair of eyeglasses and a crystal vial all at once, and it has cleared enough of a path for you to sneak along the wall to the pinkish door, which you enter to find the most lovely ballroom you've likely ever seen. Dance has always been a vibrant part of Russian heritage, both magical and маглы; though Koldovstoretz is traditionally known as a military school, that doesn't mean that dance cannot play an integral part in it. Many маглы-born students come from dance backgrounds and, decades back, petitioned for a dance studio to exist on campus; one of the largest underground classrooms was converted into a studio that is also utilised as a ballroom of sorts for indoor events during the winter months, and that is where you find yourself now. One wall is lined entirely with mirrors, and the floor beneath your feet is tiled with изразцы, culturally significant blue-and-white glazed tiles that are covered in beautiful handmade paintings. A large glass chandelier adorned with cobalt globes dangles from the center of the dirt ceiling, eternally lighting up the large, empty space. You seem to be safe from any dangers at the moment, thank Medvedev, unless you're afraid of mirrors and the ghostly echoes of musics past. Other than the entryway through which you just entered, there is just one more exit, which appears to be a plain, unmarked door.
OLIVE GREEN DOOR: @Lavinia Cloven

Faced with a rapidly flooding room and rain pouring down from above, you have no choice but to try to protect yourself from it -- but quite literally, with a Shield Charm. It works nicely, sprouting from the tip of your wand successful WIS roll, see rolls below, and you dead sprint across the room, soaking yourself from the knees down as you splash in and out of puddles but luckily staying otherwise unharmed. You rush through the olive green door to find an abandoned classroom that, luckily, looks quite safe for the moment. Though foreign languages is no longer a subject officially taught at Koldovstoretz, with Russian being the main language of operation and other tongues taught in extracurricular activities or by private lessons from a certain Vedmak or Vedma, it is made clear by entering this room that international dialects were once an official course of lessons -- perhaps at a time in which Russian wix were not quite so well-hidden, and leaving the country was preferable for some who wanted to live more open lives elsewhere. Of course, the developments of magical safety in the country as of late have made the need for learning other languages and live elsewhere fade away, but the posters in English, Spanish, German, Mandarin, Arabic, various runic languages, and even some indigenous languages native to Russia, among others, still remain here in this room, along with textbooks, scrolls, and parchments in many more. There's no danger here, but there are two new doors other than the one through which you've entered: a mostly normal-looking blood red door on your right and, on your left, a forest green door that appears to be slightly ajar; a few tree roots creep in from the other side through the gap, wrapping around the doorknob, though you think you could probably still force it open if you tried hard enough...
DARK GREY DOOR: @Logan Baird

You manage to escape the temptations of the records room without reading anything, not even your own records, and head into your next room with caution. This smallish dark room, slightly cramped and full of shelving teeming with various boxes and crates of all shapes and sizes, may be familiar to students of Group 5, as it is where dangerous items and creatures for a Defence Against the Dark Arts-adjacent subject are held. While most of them are securely locked away, unable to be accessed by even the most talented of seventh-year students' Unlocking Charms, it seems that one particularly handy Boggart has managed to weasel its way free. It hovers menacingly -- shifting shapes to whatever most scares whoever dares approach it -- directly blocking of the only other door to the room (which is scarlet in colour), other than the one through which you entered, of course. It must be defeated in order to move forward... or you could always flee, of course, and try a different path.

Zoya should have know to expect anything at this point. While things had been rather easy, moving through the rooms, she had already encountered a Devil's Snare, there was no telling what could have been in the surrounding rooms. The Russian girl did not notice the being immediately though, she had actually waded her way through part of the room before the creature became known to her.

A startled scream left the older girl, scrambling away from what she would later realize was a Boggart. In the process of trying to get away, Zoya stumbled over other items in the room, her brain going into fight or flight mode at the presence in front of her. While other people would not know the meaning behind her Boggart, Zoya saw it quite often in her nightmares.

The vampire that had changed her into what she is now stood in front of the scarlet door, blocking her way through but her mind did not care. To her, he stood there as menacingly as t he night he changed her and while she was still partially out of it at that point, she had still gotten a glimpse of the man before he disappeared that day. She knew he was probably still out there somewhere, her father having never found him, so it was possible that he was standing in front of her like nothing had changed.

"Expelliarmus" Zoya yelled out in fear, still not realizing that the man was not actually there and she needed to use a completely different spell to get rid of the being. She would realize later though, when the spell would most likely do nothing. Zoya now lay on her back, having tripped over one of the other crates in her attempt to get away.

It took her some time to understand what was the puzzle in this classroom. Iriliya loved the stars, that for sure. Her father said he was the moon. But she didn’t understand why the dark blue door wouldn’t open when she pushed. She had thought about casting Alohomora, but immediately regretted it.

The perceptive child she was, she looked around frantically for anything that could be considered a clue to opening the door. First, she noticed that on the door were eight planets, three of which were missing. Then, Iriliya saw, one by one, the planets that were missing, tucked away in several corners. There was one behind a desk; that one she spotted first. A second one was somehow lodged between the floor itself and the door… somehow. With what little strength she had she pulled it out.

But now came the real challenge: the high shelf. It took multiple tries of using a chair and trying to reach it. Unfortunately, the ceiling in this place was too high for her, even though she was a tall child. She then had the brilliant thought to use a stick she found somewhere in the room to pull the planet down. Surprisingly, the girl managed to do it. Now, what was left was putting them into the correct place.

Iriliya noticed a pattern: the farthest from the sun were at the bottom. So, at the bottom she put the blue-green planet; it looked like Uranus. Then, she placed the cream colored planet with the red splotch; this was easily recognisable as the big storm on Jupiter. Last was a small red planet; this one looked like Mars, therefore placed at the top. Happy with her efforts, Iriliya got up and tried to pry open the dark blue door.
