I: The “Rules” Part of the Encyclopaedia.

Very useful for any new player on site!

II: The Context Part of the Encyclopaedia.

Contains useful links you can use to build your character or learn more about the Wizarding world. I suggest it to all new players.

III: How to Make an Encyclopaedia page.

It is vital for you to have one and key if you want to be registered in the Official Index.

IV: Index Register Page.

This is where you add your Index application so that you can be added to the Official Index. Once you have applied, make sure to check your application frequently until it is approved.

V: Character Stats.

A very important part of your character. This can help you with finding them and choosing them correctly.

VI: Special Races/Abilities.

Special Races are things you need to apply for within 30 days of being validated. Special abilities can be applied for each year, except if you have a special race. Then, you only get one for your seconds, fourth and sixth year. Nevertheless, check this thread.

I: Technical Support

I know Cassie asked for specific links, but this one is very important. Here, you can start a topic to mention something that has gone wrong, an error (eg: fatal error, can’t open this specific topic), some odd glitch or something you believe should be fixed/added (in the suggestion topic)

II: Sitewide announcements.

Here, you can find important announcements regarding the site, from the oldest ones to the newest. I suggest reaching the last page to see the most recent ones. A thread everyone should check once in a while.

III: Monthly House Cup Rewards Page

Here in Hogwarts.io, students can win points for their house, like in the original franchise, and win the House Cup every month. Every person of the winning house, who has contributed over 17 points wins something and the top 6 earners, regardless of house, some additional thing. Here, you can see what you can win each month.

IV: The Hogwarts Headliner

Here, you can see all of the issues of the official Hogwarts Newspaper and even become a member of its team when a position opens.

V: Every Flavour Beans Locations

In this thread by Colin McCoire, you can see the current location of an Every Flavour Bean. Note that the locations change every 6 hours, so you may have missed the bean. Don’t worry, a new one can be found! Also, the beans are sometimes only available to certain people, as you can’t enter that place. Don’t fret! The same bean will pop up elsewhere, another time.

VI: The Birthday list

Many people may forget their IC character or iNPC’s birthday. Here, you can write your character’s birthday, found in his/her/their profile and add it to the list, so that it is not forgotten!

VII: ROG partners requests

Can’t find someone to role play with or just can’t find the right person? Check out this thread! Here, you can make a request for an rpg partner, or find someone’s request you like and ask (via owl or discord) if you can RP together. You can make as many requests as you want and fulfill as many as you wish too!

VIII: Special Ability Applications

In this thread, you can apply for ONE (1) special ability per year (except if you have a special race/talent where you apply only in second, fourth and sixth year). Applications must be 400 words long and explain why obtaining this ability fits your character and, in some cases, how they obtain it (eg Binding Mark, Legilmency, Wandmaker) There are certain restrictions to what abilities you can get/ perquisites for them, which can be seen in the information thread, found in the first post.

IX: Report your Absence

Here, you can write to other users, expressing the fact that you will be absent from this site for a few days/weeks/months. It is important for us to know so that we don’t feel surprised when you are not answerino to role plays.

X: BB code donation thread

Here, you can show others your aesthetically pleasing bb code and give them the right to use it for themselves, with or without credit. You can also find bbcodes you can use for free and have fun tweaking and adapting. If you copy the original code that is provided, I say you MUST add credits. sorry for double-posting

I thought of this thread earlier today, which is a super old one. But I think it'd be nice to continue making this thread so that more new users can quickly navigate through the whole system.

For the next few days (and more) I will be coding&rewriting the main posts, as well as checking the old ones and adding new ones. Suggestions and links to useful pages are also appreciated, and I am paying 10 knuts for every useful thread/post link suggested
