The air was quiet. In the living room, an anxious George Kinsey awaited the arrival of his children. The fireplace was crackling filling the room with warmth on quite possibly the coldest day of the season. Outside the snow seemed to be falling in slow motion. Adrienne was with the midwife in the other room trying her best to bring into the world her babies naturally.

Marcus was first with a loud wailing that broke the silence of the night. Ellie was not too long after. Rosie, the midwife, swaddled the babies and called for George in the other room. George could not prepare enough for this moment. George picked up Ellie and was completely taken back by her icy blue eyes. They reminded him of his mother. Adrienne was overwhelmed with emotion as she held Marcus close.

The twins were all they could imagine and more. Ellie taking after her father, fascinated with books. Marcus was more like Adrienne outspoken and following the beat of his own drum. George was a muggle who lived for his profession as a librarian. Adrienne worked for the ministry, but as a pure-blood, was always fascinated by muggles. They had now been together for 5 years, when the twins were born.

The twins were inseparable even though they couldn't be more different. They would do anything for each other. Ellie loved to read but couldn't ever be too far from Marcus. Marcus was most interested in technology and gaming. That was the real magic for him. Ellie never had to say much but Marcus always knew how she was feeling. George and Adrienne had the twins in school with muggles growing up, so that they could know what that part of their life. At school, Ellie would always rely on her brother, and he would always keep her safe. At home, Adrienne would tell them all she could about the magical world.

Ellie's parents always wanted them to know what to expect when it came to magic. They explained the rules about not using magic. They even tried creating a nurturing, calm environment to try avoiding accidental magic. But those efforts proved to be fruitless. Ellie's first instance of magic was when she was 9 years old. Her brother, Marcus, was getting frustrated with a game, while she was close by reading a book. His frustrations caused the electricity to short, and he lost the progress in his game. In rage he tossed his controller, not realizing his sister was in the line of it. Without second thought, Ellie blocked the controller tossing it to the other side of the room.

Marcus was terrified at the thought that he could have potentially harmed his sister. Even though they had great communication with their parents, Ellie was most afraid of what their mother would say. After it all, Adrienne explained to the twins the importance of trying to control their emotions but offered them reassurance that she was not upset with them.
