Several weeks before the students of Castelobruxo were to leave for the International Magical Olympic Games (IMOG), which would this year be hosted at the Koldovstoretz Conservatory in wintry Russia, an anonymous professor decorated one empty classroom with plenty of sign-making materials. Everything from large poster boards and rolls of parchment to markers, paints, glitters, and, of course, quills and inks in varying colors and of varying enchantments could be found scattered around the desks and tables. A snack bar had also been set up at one end, boasting local delicacies - such as farofa, brigadeiros, and bread balls filled with cheeses - in case students got hungry while they were making posters.

Of course, the creation of posters was not just for fun. Different schools always took great pride in winning the IMOG, whensoever they were hosted at different times throughout the many years that they had existed alongside the Muggle version. To support other athletes from one's own school was considered just as much of an honour as was competing in one of the games. As such, the professor who had set up this errand had promised rich rewards to any who came to create a supportive banner, whether they were going to the games themselves or staying home. Of course, students could go to the Koldovstoretz visit and not compete; that was why an abundance of posters could be made, to be sent along with the school’s delegation.

A school with no supporters was certain to be a losing school! The audience is just as important as the athletes.
This errand is not moderated.
Aulis is not in attendance. Please do not godmod him or any other specific Heads or professors as being in attendance.
Only Castelobruxo students should post in this thread. Check out the errand requirements here for links to the other schools' threads and the errand requirements.

"Vai lá, vai lá, vai lá, vai lá..."
Go on, go on, go on, go on...
—Lyric from "Vai Lá" by Fundo de Quintal

Manu Macedo was still torn on whether or not she would attend these International Magical Olympic Games in Russia or not. Though she had originally promised her British pen pal @Aly Salinger that she would be in attendance at Koldovstoretz, and the Brazilian girl did love a good competition or sport... but following the disastrous vine incident at Tenūsa at the start of this month, she was beginning to rethink wanting to travel abroad to other schools. Though first she had thought that the various catastrophes were a Hogwarts-specific thing, it was beginning to become clear that only Castelobruxo was the safest school to attend.

Still, whether she ended up going in a few weeks or not, she could certainly participate in making banners to support her fellow students. Surely there would be a few athletes from South America bringing home the gold for their school, even if Manu wasn't there to cheer them on.

The seventh-year was the first to find herself in the empty classroom, where some professor had set up all sorts of supplies for poster-making. Though the duellist wasn't the most artistic of persons, she had enough basic skill to hold a paintbrush and write big letters. Manu gathered from the tables a long sheet of brown paper and some paints in green and gold, as well as a big, thick paintbrush with longish white bristles, then took a seat in the centre of the room and unfurled the roll of parchment. If she managed to finish this one with more time than expected before she had to hop off to her Superior-level Theory of Magic course this afternoon, she would make a few smaller banners and maybe even one to support her pen-pal by writing in blue. Not by writing anything like Go Hogwarts or anything - Manu did have some dignity, and quite a lot of school pride!

Over the course of the next twenty minutes, she managed to paint in big, blocky letters over the parchment's elongated surface:
Vai lá, Castelobruxo! Go on, Castelobruxo! The seventh-year girl then began to try to doodle in the corner a simplified version of the logo of the academy, a big green shield outlined in gold with a fancy C in the centre. She was able enough to add the motto in black underneath: Honra, Nobreza e Lealdade Honor, Nobility and Loyalty, though she was nowhere near artistically talented enough to draw the banner that usually contained it. If anyone walked into the room to make their own banners and/or posters, it is this scene that they would find: the curly-haired elder duellist, hunched over the logo of her school, muttering to herself about how difficult art could possibly be.

───There were three things that the wolf — child of the moon and huntress of Artemis — valued over all else. Courage, loyalty and justice. Cowardly souls would perish under her gaze, unworthy of their place among her ranks. They would fall behind and never catch up, for the wolf was always a step faster, feet becoming miles until any hope of fulfillment under her lead would be lost. However, there was always a chance to redeem oneself, if one tried ever so hard, striving for perfection and a way to prove their worth at long last. One of these ways, was to fight for their place and show loyalty to those who were part of the same flock. A perfect example were the upcoming International Magical Olympic Games held in Koldovstoretz, one of the eight wizarding schools.

The moonchild's name was Ariana. The name's origins could be traced to the Greek "Ariadne", meaning "very pure". And a pure heart Ariana did have, both man and wolf, not split into two lives but both the same entity. The one thing that her werewolf visage had stimulated was a burning value of loyalty and those who she could trust. Her father had not been one of them. But her mother, as infuriating as she could be, had, and Ariana did not want to be rid of her. And not only her, other small things meant a great deal to her as well. Cazadora, for example, was her feline companion who had always been loyal to her from the very start. And so the moonchild had always been loyal to her in return.

Then, came the places. The forest near her home, for example, was one that she had always cherished and would give her life to protect. But also her school, Castelobruxo, which had not shunned her for her wolf-like nature, but rather helped her contain it. Maybe containing half of one's true nature is not ethically correct. However, Ariana did not complain, she was glad to remain mentally intact during each full-moon and hidden away as to not hurt anyone by mistake. Never had the headmistress failed to give her the appropriate dose of the Wolfsbane potion each month. And so the moonchild was loyal to the school as well, from the pyramid-shaped buildings and the nature that surrounded them. It was her home during most of the year, how could she not?

And with loyalty comes pride. Ariana herself was not yet sure whether she would attend the event in Russia, but whether or not she would be there to cheer on her school in person or participate in the activities herself, she could do her part by sending banners, posters and other such crafts as support overseas when the attendees would depart. And so, on January 25th, the moonchild found herself entering the classroom not long after the first student had done so. Looking around the room, Ariana took in the sight of the many different crafting tools and even snacks for starving artists (lowk pun-intended). There were rectangular pieces of parchment as well, graphite neatly organized beside them, reminding her of @Prat Pass' booth that he had set up during the previous summer camp, entitled Face Card. The captivating portrait now resided in a drawer in her beside table, a memory of how stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to nice surprises.

After picking out a long, blank banner, Ariana looked over at the only other student in the room so far. The elder girl was working on a poster herself, hunched over a drawing that Ariana couldn't quite make out from her distance, but she did catch a strand of words that the girl was mumbling, something about art being difficult. The voice sounded strangely familiar, and the second year's brows furrowed in confusion. Only a second later, it came to her: the elder student was Manu Macedo, one of her teammates during the duelling match against Beauxbâtons. Ariana had been glad to have such a skilled duellist on her team, especially after the duel had been won. Funny that they would meet again during another moment of shared school pride. Approaching her, she then spoke to her peer, greeting an acquaintance that she respected.

"Olá, Manu! Sou a Ariana, da equipe de duelos do verão passado. É um prazer te ver por aqui." "Hello, Manu! I'm Ariana, from last summer's duelling team. It's a pleasure seeing you here." Due to her Chilean background, her mother tongue had always been Spanish, but as Castelobruxo was located in Brazil, many spoke Portuguese. A pity, for although Ariana knew how to speak the language, she much preferred Spanish. There was a slight accent laced into her words, the pronunciation was mostly correct but noticeably forced- her tutoring had ensured of that. But the Chilean accent persisted, and Ariana's perfectionistic side hoped Manu wouldn't notice. "Você pretende assistir aos Jogos Olímpicos em Koldovstoretz?" "Are you planning to attend the Olympic Games in Koldovstoretz?"

Placing her poster near Manu's, Ariana began working on her own poster as well, and while waiting for her peer to reply, she began to write the following phrase in big letters:

¡Castelobruxo por la victoria!
Castelobruxo para a vitória!

The phrase meant "Castelobruxo for the win", written in big letters in Spanish and below with smaller letters in Portuguese for those who didn't understand the superior language. The letters were done in green paint to symbolize the school and stand out against the yellow background which she had previously chosen from the stack of blank banners. Looking over at the older girl's poster, Ariana allowed for a kind comment, simple but considerate. "O seu é muito bonito. Você desenha bem." "Yours is very pretty. You draw well."

It was only right to compliment the work of one who had been of help in the past, whose respect she hoped to have earned. And as is written at the very beginning of this chapter in her tale, Ariana valued justice deeply.
