The Pink Lady
Today was Winnie Harper's birthday. Winnie was turning 16, so this would be her sweet 16. One could only expect a celebration among peers, some sort of private forray to celebrate this event of coming of age. He had heard little of Mathias Pride's long-term love interest, besides the fact that she is very very pink and very loud. He was seeking her out in hopes of finding either her or his brother, the girls described "shrill" calls would help him hone into her ultimate location.
He was able to make several assumptions about the girl. The first being, she was very dumb. The reason being, she had been dating Aamon's brother a number of years. It was just plain stupid. So admittedly he did not have the greatest faith in her arcane skill, but he knew it to be better than his own. Second, she liked happy, pretty things. In addition to somehow Matt. But this was able to guide him ever so slightly in the direction of the classrooms facing the grounds, with the better views that were both abandoned and out of the way. She would probably want to decorate.
This only left a small handful of classrooms, all the same corridor on two seperate levels specifically from his earliest ventures through Hogwarts where he attempted to get the lay of the land. He was dragging an injured girl during mealtime through the halls, unable to leave the level Avis fell onto because of her numerous injuries so he was hoping luck was on his side as he made his way down the hall and peered into the empty classes. He was listening for a loud voice. Maybe yelling. A splash of pink, probably on the door.
If Meiyu was helping him, he would assure her that they were almost there. It was a lie and it was concerning how easy they were coming now that he had started. He had no idea if she would be here, but he had to try something. The girl with the terrible presence was intimidating Avis, sending Meiyu away and they did not have faith in the nurse after their earlier interaction with the woman. She might have meant well, but her words and demeanor only taught them to avoid adults or suffer their wrath.
Then he would hear something so he would call out. "P-" he almost called her pink lady before he thought better of it. "Winnie? ...Winnie Harper?" He called out. If the voice answered his call he would move forward, dragging his charge behind him with greater haste and defined purpose.

The Pink Lady
Sometimes everything comes out Mathias. He was having a fantastic day, he had gotten a package from his father earlier in the day. He had gotten several forms of hair gel and cologne. He had recently entered the teenage life phase of excessive cologne use and had taken to dousing his entire being in the strongest, most expensive compounds known to man.
Besides this, his favorite team had won their latest quidditch match. He had read the play-by-play out loud this morning to his peers at the Slytherin table.
Finally, the icing on the cake was the make-out session his girlfriend had invited him to in classroom 308B. It was an abandoned classroom out of the way on the third level of the Scottish castle. Isolated space, a secret note shared in the midst of a class. Her intentions were obvious. He was supposed to meet her during the lunch hour but he was running late. Not that make-out sessions were unpleasant, it was just... today was Wiener Schnitzel Wednesday. Priorities. He would grab a plate of wiener schnitzel, essentially spearing the piece of meat with his fork. Well, forks and enjoy his walking lunch.
A wiener schnitzel in each hand, Mathias ambled through the halls and up the stairs.
Note: Mathias is NOT in the classroom yet.

In the stillness of an empty classroom on the day of her 16th birthday, Winnie Harper sat alone, two pink frosted cupcakes sat on the table in front of her. She had pulled her impossibly long copper hair into a half up-do and fastened it with a large pink ribbon, she had adorned her feet with a pair of three inch heels, and was wearing the flower embroidered pink dress her mother had bought her as a present.
She was waiting for her boyfriend to arrive, having slipped Mathias a note during their shared class giving him a time and location for their date. Long pink painted fingernails tapped on the wooden surface, a gentle tune humming in her throat. He was late. Very late. Their relationship had been a bit rocky since the spring ball, but she wouldn't have expected him to miss her birthday, right? It wasn't every day that someone turned 16, and after the disaster that was her 13th birthday party she preferred to spend the day with a few close friends or Matt. She had considered inviting Evelynn, Aly, Dee, Aurora, and Rebecca (her girls), and… Percival, but she really had to wrap her head around her situation with Matt and what was happening between them and it was getting harder to get alone time with him.
She was lost in her thoughts when the classroom door creaked open. Her head shot up to glance towards the door, and she quickly jumped to her feet. "Mattie--." There was a twinge of excitement in her voice, but her face fell when she locked her eyes onto Aamon. "O-Oh sorry, I thought you were... Someone else."
"Are you looking fo-- Oh my God!" The Ravenclaw's gasp cut through the air when she finally noticed the girl the boy was dragging alongside him. "What happened?" Her heels clicked against the stone tile as she rushed towards the two and fell to her knees to begin inspecting the girl.
"Hi, can you hear me?" Winnie asked the girl, her tone softening in an attempt to calm her, she reached to take her hand with her non-casting hand, "Can you tell me your name and year?" She would attempt to distract her as she looked over her injuries. She reached into her pocket with her free arm and retrieved her wand, pointing it towards the younger girl, "Episkey."

The Pink Lady
𝓕 I N N E G A Nx𝓒 O N N O R
3RD YEARGRYFFINDORThe Pink Lady, 25th September 2024xxxx
xx During Summer Camp, he'd discoverd he rather liked Winnie, she was uncompromising, easy-going, boisterous and - as far as girls went - very easy to understand. Flowers? Good. Unusual rhyming stanzas? Bad. The trouble with Winnie, he'd found, was that she kept forgetting things. Maybe it was for the better, maybe he ought to consider himself very, very lucky that the poem he'd written with her, for her was by now (in all likelihood) completely forgotten. Hells, from what he'd heard, it was something of a miracle she remembered her own birthday at this point.
He had not expected to receive an invitation to Winnie's birthday, so he hadn't been all that dissapointed when none had arrived. Why would she invite a nosy third-year to her sweet sixteen? He doubted she would object if he simply showed up though, she'd always struck him as a 'the more souls the merrier' type of girl. Yet, eeking out the location of Winnie's birthday had proven surprisingly difficult. Thankfully, a helpful house-elf had managed to point him in the right direction when he'd asked around for a girl in pink with long, copper-colored hair. There weren't very many of those wandering the halls.
If she'd gone to a classroom to celebrate, she must have expected a large crowd. Maybe she had invited all of Ravenclaw? He wouldn't put it past her. If the whole of Ravenclaw was there, maybe there'd be some punch, maybe there'd be some loose tongues, and maybe just maybe some secret tactics of the Ravenclaw Quiddtich team could be uncovered. It was a whole lot of maybes, but anything was fair game when it came to winning the Quidditch cup.
Even if none of the other Ravenclaw players were there, there was at least one more reason to go: to finally see for himself how grand of a person this @Mathias Pride really was.
By now he was pretty sure Pride was a person, not some adorable dog, though the way Winnie spoke of him had left it quite ambiguous. Opinions on that particular breed of snake seemed to exist in only two extreme flavors. If Winnie was to be believed, Pride was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Everyone else he'd heard mutter about him had been far less complimentary.
On the way up the winding stairway, he bumped past a pale fifth-year carrying schnitzels, muttered an apology over his shoulder, and carried on. He'd seen enough strange things at Hogwarts to not even think twice about someone carrying two schnitzels up the stairs. For all he knew they were some kind of transfiguration experiment. A very strong smelling experiment, he thought.
But when he rounded the corner and headed toward the alleged location of the party, he saw something he did not expect. "Aamon?" For one split second he thought the boy was carrying a very large, wrapped gift toward the party. One didn't simply get a gift that large unless one wanted to impress. Now the first-year Slytherin was calling out for Winnie. He sounded rather desperate. Did Aamon really think he'd stand a chance wooing Winnie? Sure, he was 5ft something and fairly broad-shouldered for his age but... really? "Don't you think Winnie's a bit old for y-?"
Then he saw what, or rather who it was that Aamon was carrying. Is that-?" He rushed over to the boy's side, and even before he'd halved the distance between them, he could make out Avis's pale, battered face.
Athanatos, Athanatos, Athanatos... The name that had kept cropping up in Evelynn's journal. Everything she had observed over the years, he had read. But holding all the pieces to a puzzle in his head did not make it any easier to lay the puzzle correctly. All he knew at this point was that an Athanatos was once again involved in some incident, or so it seemed anyway.
A young Gryffindor, a first-year by the looks of it, stood close to Aamon and the injured Ravenclaw. While he did not know her, he made a mental note to keep an eye on her. Now that he was in third-year, he was ready to take on a measure of responsibility for his fellow Gryffindors. @Meiyu Xiang
By now, Winnie Harper had showed up, and she blurted out the question that had been on his mind too.
What happened?
"Winnie." He'd fished a Bruise Removal Paste from his pocket and offered it to her, should she find some use for it.
He shot a questioning look at Aamon, but thought better of immediately laying out all he knew. When he had first encountered Aamon in the hospital wing and learned the boy's surname, he'd spent all night thinking very hard about the questions he wanted to ask, and the ones he should be asking. He'd crossed out confronting the boy then and he crossed out doing so now. Throwing accusations at Aamon's feet would only encourage antagonism and for the kind of questions he wanted answers to, he needed Aamon to cooperate, he needed Aamon to trust.
So instead of making accusations, he offered to help hold Avis' weight and directed his concern toward Aamon, instead of the battered girl. "Are you alright? You did well..."OOC information
I saw no tag on this thread so am assuming it is open (particularly since it is a follow-up to an open thread). @Winnie Harper - let me know if I need to change anything in relation to Winnie's birthday. When I started writing this post, you had not yet posted and now that you have, it's clear that her party is more private than I had anticipated. I've tried to compensate for that in this post, but if you'd rather I specify a different reason for Finn being here, let me know and I'll make the necessary edits.
@Meiyu Xiang - if you enter into this thread as well, I will edit my post to account for your presence. Since I don't know yet at this point, I did not want to presume Meiyu was around.
@Mathias Pride - bumping past you and your schnitzels along the way, so arriving slightly ahead of you.
01-10-2024 EDIT: added a paragraph to acknowledge the presence of Meiyu Xiang.

Avis didn't pay attention to the journey. She was too busy being in pain. It was really starting to be frustrating, the whole moving thing. If it could stop, she would be very appreciative. Unless he was taking her to the nurse. Then she would be the opposite.
Thankfully, they seemed to stop soon, and an older girl rushed up and fell to her knees next to Avis. Avis could see what Aamon meant. Pink dress, flowers, and even her hair could be considered pink if you squinted and really tried.
"Hi, can you hear me? Can you tell me your name and year?" Avis tried to focus, clear her head of the noise, of the pounding. It didn't work. Why would it?
"Avis." That had been a lot of work, even just the focusing. It was easier to just lie there and let the girl do what she needed than to try to have a conversation. If the girl couldn't see her grade by looking at her, she didn't need to know it. Now did not seem like a time for meeting new people, or having formalities.
The girl offered her hand to Avis and Avis squeezed it. Hard. Not that she was trying to inflict pain on the girl, but she was trying to pull herself away from the pain, as if the pain was just a puddle on the floor and Avis was just unlucky enough to be lying in it.
Another older boy dashed over to her. She tried to place his face. The hospital wing. He had been there too. He had called for the nurse. He had been the smart one. Unlike Avis. "Are you alright? You did well..." He was talking to Aamon. Avis frowned. Aamon wasn't the one who had fallen down the stairs. Aamon had just let her fall, if he was really a seer. She could be frustrated later. Right now Aamon had brought her to a pink lady, who could maybe help. She took a deep breath, and another, willing herself to be calm, to let this pink lady help her.

OOC I have no idea what Episkey can or cannot heal so in case it helps Avis probably has a concussion and probably a broken leg but otherwise is simply badly bruised and bumped. In case that's helpful for the casting of the spell.

The Pink Lady... Of course it was Winnie Harper, who else could it be? The Fall Ball of 2023 was a blur to her but one thing she did remember was the Pinkstrosity yelling at her because she tried to kick the girl's boyfriend after he spilled his drink all over poor unsuspecting Astra on a dare.
Now Astra did not know Winnie very well, if at all except for she was a Quidditch player and the one person in all of Hogwarts that could be counted on to wear one color that wasn't black at all times. She did not know of Winnie's forgetfulness track record, she did not know that Winnie was a competent healer regardless.
They did not bump into Mathias. Yes, despite every misfortune they were lucky enough to evade the weiner schnitzel smell.
However, they did run into Finn. Which made Astra irrationally nervous, to the point the selfish little Advisor almost pushed her to abandon Avis and run. Finn was bad, it said, Finn would try to hurt her because he thought she hurt him. Finn wasn't stable, she'd witnessed it herself when he tried to turn Ulysses to ash before her very eyes.
The Advisor wasn't right. It had never been right, not yet, and Astra endeavored to ignore it. It was the one that had gotten her into this position, where she was scared of her own shadow and she was whispered about as a legend, a bedtime story meant to scare children into going to sleep (which was very backwards and never made much sense to her, but that is besides the point).
She ignored whatever looks Finn may have been giving her, endeavoring instead to assist in the transport of Avis in as small a way while still being helpful, and removing herself as soon as Finn stepped up to help Aamon.
Winnie knelt beside the injured and half-awake girl. "I'm certain she's a first-year. I bandaged her ribs in case they were broken, and her leg was definitely broken so I was able to use Ferula to help it, since she didn't want Nurse Sabo," she explained to the older year, fiddling with her wand, seeming almost ashamed as she stood in the corner, away from the children who were scared of her and the boy who thought she tried to kill him.
People around Astra seemed to get hurt. And even if all signs pointed to Avis being injured from something related to the Athanatos boy, she couldn't help but wonder if it was her bad luck that had attached itself to the first year.
Astra has Terrible Presence. It is in effect unless someone in the thread has Calming Presence to negate it. Or at least I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Meiyu followed behind the trio, concern plastered all across her face as Avis' condition seemed to worsen, she had wished she was able to be of some sort of assistance, but she was still a first year, everything was new to her, as it was for Avis. Perhaps it was why she followed them, hoping to be of some sort of assistance. As they entered the classroom, it became clear who the Pink Lady was, in essence, she really was...pink? The gown she supported made Meiyu slightly smile, it had reminded her of the balls her parents would frequent, though she was too young to be there for long, it was a wave good-bye to her parents who left the Xiang children in the foyer, with their Uncle who would later be the source of raspberries blown on their stomachs.Interacting with: @Avis Marlong @Astra Norrick @Aamon Athanatos@Winnie Harper@Finnegan Connor
She'd noticed another boy, rush into the room past them, perhaps younger than the lady in pink, who seemed to be readily equipped as though he was a Nurse in training. Meiyu watched as the previously empty classroom suddenly felt as full as they were during her Herbology classes, following in behind everyone. As Astra knelt down, acting as though she was concerned for Avis, Meiyu couldn't help herself but interrupt the girl.
"She is a first year, I saw her briefly right before the Sorting Ceremony, she didn't want Nurse Sabo because you were about to run off with him." Meiyu pointed, motioning to Aamon, who appeared less distressed to her than he did during their initial meeting. She wondered if he had seen injury like this before.
"Is there anything that can be done for her? She's adamant she doesn't want to go to the hospital wing, I'm not exactly why though." Meiyu sighed as she inched closer to Avis, crouching down squat like, wrapping her arms around her knees, watching her age-mate, who thankfully was no longer bleeding as much due to Astra's bandage spell, much to her dismay, the older Slytherin had slightly been of help, though it came at a much later time than initially desired. Or was this just Meiyu's misunderstanding of the girl? She sighed once more, her internal conflict of did she really belong in Gryffindor coming back into the spotlight once more.

The Pink Lady
"Ma'am" he announced as he breeched the the threshold of the classroom. He had never seen Winnie Harper, but he had heard enough about her to know her. Her reputation preceded her and when he cast his gaze upon her frilly attire, her long thick, red locks and her fair features he understood Mathias' interests. She was real pretty for an old lady. Not that he had the time to appreciate the scene, he was pulling as well as his feeble form allowed him the twisted and pained carriage of a one Avis Marlong.
"Mattie--."
"No," he replied. "He is a ginger and several inches taller," Aamon reminded her. He knew about the boy's toxic influence over the girl. The boy was a cruel braggart. "You've been dating him by my best estimation three, maybe four years." Remind the poor girl with the goldfish brain. Frankly, she is fortunate that she can still dress herself and find her way into the Ravenclaw Tower after years of gaslighting and poisoning.
"Aamon?" Another voice would announce. Aamon's brow would raise as he glanced towards the source. He vaguely recognized the teen, he did not recall his name if he ever knew it at all. He simply nodded in confirmation.
"Don't you think Winnie's a bit old for y-?"
"Huh?" He did not pry. Honestly, he would not have guessed Finley's thoughts. He had never considered dating an anthropomorphic pygmypuff, as clear-faced, sweet scented or well-dressed as she might have been. But to each their own, and Matt sure had an interesting 'type.'
"O-Oh sorry, I thought you were... Someone else."
He continued to pull Avis into the room. In truth, had never stopped. He just pulled and spoke at the same time, but he was not as strong as he wanted to be. Not physically in any case. "I need your help ma'am," he announced as Avis came into full view on his stretched and by now likely torn jacket.
"Are you looking fo-- Oh my God!"
Avis' condition was a terrible sight to behold, even for the most callopus of persons. "What happened?" Her heels clicked, yes she bothered to wear heels so casually, against the stone tile as she rushed towards the two and fell to her knees to begin inspecting the girl. Pride, you really did break her mind and make her into a Stepford didn't you?
Winne started to tend to the girl. "Hi, can you hear me?" Avis was restless, anxious and in pain. "Can you tell me your name and year?" Not that either was important, but it was something to say.
"Avis." What a nice name.
Astra would explain her perspective. "I'm certain she's a first-year. I bandaged her ribs in case they were broken, and her leg was definitely broken so I was able to use Ferula to help it, since she didn't want Nurse Sabo,"
Winnie would draw her wand and cast a charm on Avis "Episkey" and Aamon could only hope that it helped.
Meiyu would confirm Atra's assumptions. "She is a first year, I saw her briefly right before the Sorting Ceremony, she didn't want Nurse Sabo because you were about to run off with him."[/b] Meiyu pointed towards Aamon, whose confidence seem to grow exponentially as the moments passed. He seemed like a different person than the stammering youth they had crossed moments earlier. As if the crisis had passed. As if he was back ion control somehow.
"She tended to an injury of mine, our exposure to the nurse reinforced a punitive perspective," he vaguely answered. She seemed angry, frustrated - he was not sure if she was angry that he was injured or that he was being saved. If it was misplaced guilt being projected as wrath. Her impulse was to tell them how incompetent they were, threaten detention and while she might be incredibly competent, he had learned early on that she was not someone to come to unless the need is so dire there was no other option.
"Is there anything that can be done for her? She's adamant she doesn't want to go to the hospital wing, I'm not exactly why though."
"She scared us," he reaffirmed. It was more complicated than that. Fragile, growing egos had their first, noval exposure to an adult, a nurse. They needed in this moment of trauma, both physically and mentally a nurturing presence. A hug, a gentle touch, a kind hand, understanding. Not fear of punitive consequence for making a responsible decision. "Besides, I knew she would be here," her referring to Winnie. "I'm sorry for intruding on your birthday Miss," his stance was starting to relax, the terrible presence further away, the questions and prying eyes were on her now rather than him. In spite of the less than desirable circumstances, he was completely calm.
While Winnie worked on the felled first year, Finn would address Aamon. Finn was clever enough, more clever than Aamon would credit him for as he used this chance meeting as an opportunity. It was likely the sorting hat had pegged this specific teen wrong. Aamon had a bit of an ego, so once the girl was being treated, he saw nothing unusual in Finn addressing him solely. "Are you alright? You did well..."
"Heh, yeah... I am a bit shaken up, I'm just glad she" meaning Winnie, "was so nearby," truly luck and nothing more, but fortunate favors both the bold and the incredibly lucky. "Sorry to barge in on..." he glanced around at the otherwise empty room besides him and Pride's girlfriend and his voice faded off. "The early start of a birthday party," with seemingly only one guest. Maybe she was not quite as Stepford as he thought.
"Mattie--."
"No," he replied. "He is a ginger and several inches taller," Aamon reminded her. He knew about the boy's toxic influence over the girl. The boy was a cruel braggart.

Mathias strolled leisurely down the corridor, completely unaware as Finn passed by. Why would he notice? He didn’t know the kid, and even if he did, it wouldn’t have mattered much. His focus was on the wienerschnitzel speared on his fork, which he was eating like a kebab as he wandered aimlessly. His thoughts drifted to the girl he was supposed to meet—she wanted to make out in one of the empty classrooms on this level. He couldn’t remember exactly which one, but it didn’t matter. By now, he could find the Ravenclaw by scent alone; the air always seemed to fill with the sweet aroma of strawberries and cream when she was near. Until then, it was just him and his schnitzel.
As he meandered further, he finally heard her voice before catching that familiar scent. Odd. He hadn’t expected to notice her before the strawberries, but it didn’t make him speed up or slow down. It was a normal day—nothing special except for it being Wienerschnitzel Wednesday, of course. Mathias reached the classroom door and paused to take another bite from his fork, the second piece of schnitzel held casually in his other hand, also skewered and ready. He leaned against the doorframe and greeted her with the same nonchalance he carried everywhere.
"Hey babe," he mumbled around a mouthful of schnitzel, stepping into the room without hesitation, casually sidestepping Avis' crumpled, injured form on the floor. "I’ve gotta tell you about my day. You won’t believe it." He didn’t acknowledge the girl on the floor or even glance at his brother, also present in the room. "First, the house-elves finally fixed my pants—inseam was too low, now they’re perfect." He gestured to his legs with a grin. "And I got a care package from my dad—dozen new colognes. I’m basically going to smell like a pine forest on a beach... with dragons or something." If he had ever seen an Old Spice Commercial, he would have been first in line. He took another bite, still talking as if the situation around him didn’t exist.
"Oh, and the best part? Oktoberfest food in September—makes no sense, right? But today is Wienerschnitzel Wednesday. They need to put this stuff on the regular menu." He glanced around the room for the first time, vaguely noticing the others, some of whom were possibly trying to help his injured brother's friend, others just gawking at him. With a shrug, he turned back to his girl. "So, when you’re done with them, maybe we can find a classroom to make-out? I got class in an hour, so it'll be briefer than usual."

"Don't you think Winnie's a bit old for y-?"
"Oh, Finn--" Winnie exclaimed, startled by his sudden entrance, but she had little time for chitchat considering the situation she found herself tossed into. She also didn't have time to think about what Finn was implying, nor was she smart enough to put the pieces together and be insulted by the accusation.
"He is a ginger and several inches taller. You've been dating him by my best estimation three, maybe four years."
The Ravenclaw's brows furrowed at the casual drop of information, "How do you know all of that?" Why did this kid know so much about her? Also why the hell was he so tall?! He was taller than Winnie, and the guy was probably still 11 years old.
Her attention snapped back to the task at hand. Before she’d discovered her love for Quidditch, Winnie had imagined she would grow up to become a healer. She had always wanted to use magic to help heal people in need, but the dream had been pushed to the back burner once she realized the job required high grade levels. Still, her interest for the subject remained and she still considered her healing spells to be her best work.As Winnie cast her spell, Avis would feel a warmth envelope her leg, the warm tingle would turn into a sharp pain as her leg bones set themselves back into place and the magic of the healing spell repaired her broken bones.Episkey base wisdom roll is 12, plus 1 for every additional 10 healing points. I rolled for five, meaning I would need a 17 to succeed.
[d20 : 14] + 9
In the end, the result was: 23
SUCCESS
I am assuming that Avis is not moving considering her condition, but if for some reason you would like to roll evasion feel free to. If you do roll for dodging, below is Winnie's accuracy roll:
ReducioAccuracy Roll:
[d20 : 11] + 17
In the end, the result was: 28
50 + 5 × 15 = 125
125 x 30% (healing sage) = 37.5
37.5 + 125 = 162.5
Avis is healed 162.5 health points.
The Bruise Removal Paste Finn offered her was much appreciated, and she was quick to wiggle her hand away from Avis' corpse grip to open the bottle, but not before offering him a smile, "Thank Merlin you're well prepared, Finn. I guess heroes often are." It made sense; he was a Gryffindor after all.
"Here; take this." She wiggled a pink silk scrunchie off of her wrist and quickly tossed it towards the boy. "Can you tie my hair up for me? I've got my hands full. Yes, she was asking the boy to be her personal stylist. It was hard to examine wounds when you had a waterfall of hair continuously falling into your face.
"Is there anything that can be done for her? She's adamant she doesn't want to go to the hospital wing, I'm not exactly why though."
When the new younger student who had just entered spoke up, Winnie gave her a nod, "Her wounds aren't too bad. I should be able to fix them up. Luckily none of them need a potion."
"I'm sorry for intruding on your birthday Miss,"
"How did you know...?" Winnie wasn't egotistical enough to believe that she was some sort of celebrity around the school, that people just randomly knew her birthday.
She shook her head and offered the boy a smile, "I don't mind; it's a opportunity for me to practice spells and I like to help. I'm a bit honoured you thought to seek me out."
"Ferula is a great spell for bleeding, but it won't help heal bones." Winnie remarked, her tone matter-of-fact. She vaguely remembered Astra from last year's ball; she had tried to drench poor Matt in some punch, so she would guess she was at least a year older than the other three. Was it possible the older girl was bullying her underclassmen? Some of them seemed uneasy around her. Actually, Winnie's gut was twisting whenever she got a bit closer. "I'm going to need everyone who isn't Avis or Finn to take a step—"
She was cut off by the entrance of her boyfriend, who stepped over Avis like she was a sack of dirty clothing and not an actual human being. She really shouldn't have been surprised by his lack of interest in what was happening around him, but she couldn't stop herself from shooting him a look that silently said, 'you're kidding me, right?'
"First, the house-elves finally fixed my pants—inseam was too low, now they’re perfect."
"That's great, Mattie." She acknowledged him as she scooped a generous amount of the bruise paste into her hand. If any articles of clothing were in the way of Avis' leg, such as a pant leg, she would push them up so she could start applying the paste to any remaining bruising. "They did a good job; you look very handsome, even more than usual."
"And I got a care package from my dad—dozen new colognes. I’m basically going to smell like a pine forest on a beach... with dragons or something."
So his father was to blame for the aggressive attack on her nostrils she was slammed with every time Mathias entered the room. "Maybe you don't have to try them all at the same time." She suggested, blowing a loose piece of hair out of her face as she capped the paste and handed it back to Finn.
"Oh, and the best part? Oktoberfest food in September—makes no sense, right? But today is Wienerschnitzel Wednesday. They need to put this stuff on the regular menu."
"Sounds great, Sweetpea. I'm glad you found something you like." She nodded, her attention still on Avis. What was starting to concern Winnie was that the younger girl seemed a bit disorientated. If she had hit her head that could mean she had a concussion, which was nasty to get rid of in the muggle world. Luckily they were in the wizarding world, "Lumos." She cast, the tip of her wand emitting a soft glow.
"Can you follow the light with your eyes?" Winnie requested, her face moving closer to Avis' to check and see if her pupils were dilating (I am assuming this based off the information Avis has provided. If you want me to edit this part please don't hesitate to reach out and owl me). A frown pulled at her lips when she saw the lack of response. There is no wisdom DC for lumos, I just assume Winnie is skilled enough to cast it but I rolled just in case:
[d20 : 13] + 9
In the end, the result was: 22
"So, when you’re done with them, maybe we can find a classroom to make-out? I got class in an hour, so it'll be briefer than usual."
This caught her attention, and she glanced back up at her long term boyfriend, a bit of a frown on her lips. "Wait, is that why you think I invited you here? Tell me you know what today is. Tell me you didn't forget... Again." She still remembered celebrating her 15th in her dorm room, alone. It had been after her grandfather had passed, so admittedly she had been avoiding everyone and hadn't mentioned it to Matt, but it had still hurt. She could remember him bringing her flowers on her 13th, but now that she thought about it, she couldn't remember him doing anything for her 14th...?
Note: Winnie has Healing Sage, which means her healing spells have a +30% bonus.
