Any form of art is considered to be acceptable - we are flexible with the rules this year to allow you to do anything. Please supply a reasoning for your prompt if it isn't clear but we will accept even loosely related things. For more info:
CODING - All coding must be new. You may use Lorem Ipsum as the default text or existing writing if they work for the prompt - just specify it's a coding piece. If it needs a reasoning to explain the prompt, just add it somewhere at the top.
WRITING - All writing must be new. This can be prose, poems, etc. Maximum of 500 words, just for ease of moderation. You can post some of these into roleplays after the challenge, if you wish to (and if it is appropriate to do so).
GRAPHICS - Most of these will require using images readily available to you on the Internet. These are graphics, images, collages etc. You may use your own photography too, of course. You may also use digital art/drawings. Please use free stock images, pictures you own or tools like Canva etc. Credit sources where appropriate.
OTHER - Drawing, painting, singing, pottery, photography etc. These must be created by you (can be any medium, can include digital art). If you physically create something, such as a sculpture or painting then you may take a photo of that or scan it as your entry.

Charlie had just recieved the letter. She grasped the letter, stared at the loopy hand written words, assuming the contents. The letter of invitation to Hogwarts. Her mother had told her about this, years ago, but as she got older it never worried her. Charlie took a deep breath and walked into the dimly lit kitchen, where her mother was chopping veggies grown in their garden. Charlie slid on to one of the bar stools, facing her mothers back and ripped open the letter. Charlie skimmed the letter, smiling softly. She was going away to school. She gently set the letter down on the table, and watched her mother slice carrot sticks for snacking on later.

Charlie's mother never ever did things the normal way for a wizarding family, using magic as a shortcut, and they also lived in an area packed to the brim with muggles. Anything magic related had to be hid, so it was easier to just do some things the muggle way. It was all Charlie was used to, so she just did it. Plus some of the inventions that the muggles had made were very clever. Things like phones, computers, tablets, and even some things like toasters just made life easier. Although Charlie didn't have any technology of her own, she did use some devices like a blow drier to quickly dry her hair since she was too young to have her own wand.

Charlie was excited to go to Hogwarts but she knew that she was going to miss the assist of muggle devices for things like drying her hair quickly after washing it, or messaging her friends using their family computer. Things just wouldn't be the same, but she smiled at the fact she would get to embark on a new chapter in her life. When her mum spotted the letter that was laid on the table in front of her, Charlie watched her mum's face light up and mouth open to immediately being planning their trip to diagon alley.

Charlie pulled back the overgrown, thick green vines that covered up a clearing in the woods. This was one of the few weeks in the bright Irish summer that Charlie would be at home. Yes, she wanted to spend the whole summer at home with her mom and sister, doing their normal summer activities, but that would not be happening. Charlie Jacobsen would be spending her time with her father. She never wanted to think about this, so she stepped in and let the vines fall back behind her as she continued down a narrow dirt path in the forest.

Stepping over a crushed can of muggle soda, she looked up at the top of the wooden arch. A diamond like design had been carved into it a long time ago, which Charlie had no idea what it meant. Tapping the symbol as she walked through the arch, She wandered through the mix of trees, hedges and roots, taking every other left turn. Left… Right… Left… Right… she thought.

When Charlie walked into the clearing, there it was. Her small cottage. Well, it wasn’t really a cottage, more of a clubhouse. When she had been young her mother often told her to go off and play, and Charlie and her sister built this. It was a small building made from scraps of old moss covered, possibly moldy, boards and just barely fit three people inside. Charlie took the secret tunnel-like path every time something in her life didn’t go her way, whether it was big or small. The cottage had three empty crates turned upside down that were used as stools, a slightly dirty quilt, and shelves made from old wooden crates. What was on the shelves was the best part of the cottage. Books. Lots and lots of them. Yes, they had to be covered with a plasticky sheet every time it would rain, but that's besides the point. They were books.

Charlie pulled out her current read, the Secret Garden, which was the perfect fit for her current mood. She read and read, wishing that she never had to come out of her escape from reality.
