QUIDDITCH - SLYTHERIN vs GRYFFINDOR - Winter 2024

Weather: Light snow and clouds

The weather conditions at Hogwarts had created a frigid atmosphere for the afternoon quidditch match. Light snow had been falling all day, coating the field, pathways, and untouched seats with a layer of icy snow. The sky appeared to have no intention of stopping the snow fall. Additionally, the sun was buried beneath the grey clouds, offering no warmth for any cold players or spectators. The spectators had come out in droves, ready for another quidditch match of the day, this one between supposed rival houses. Seats quickly filled up as bundled up students and teachers found their place to watch the match.

“Welcome to the second quidditch game of the day!” The announcer boomed across the pitch, lowering the crowd noise. Eyes drifted towards the announcer’s stand, ready to watch the game start. “This is the second round of the 2023-2024 Hogwarts Quidditch Championship! Earlier today we saw the badgers of Hufflepuff take on the ravens of Ravenclaw and now it is time for what could be the most exciting match of the year! I give you the Flying Snakes of Slytherin and the Mighty Lions of Gryffindor!!” Both teams flew out onto the field with their captains leading the way. The crowd erupted into cheers when they saw the two teams fly out.

“Today we are joined by some light rain. It will be exciting to see how each of the teams adapt to the weather circumstances! Let us begin!

The first game. Wrong, I mean, my first game, the first one I'm going to see for real. It really has the feel of an exciting sport, this so-called quidditch! On the other hand, I've never seen a thing of you, flying on a broomstick, trying to get a ball into a ring. It's pretty cool when you think about it, after all!

I don't want to be late, on the contrary, I prefer to be early. I got up early, dressed like Muggles every day, and then put on a Gryffindor cape, a new one, which I haven't stepped on yet, thankfully. I'm running to my destination, so I don't catch a cold just yet. Climbing the steps of the stadium, still running, I run into someone without doing too much on purpose... Crap! Oops...

I don't want to disrespect anyone around me, so I clearly can't walk by without saying anything. It's okay to be late in the end, it comes first. I looked up before exclaiming, "I'm too sorry, I really didn't pay attention on this one!" Then, I lowered my head, not proud of my shot...

Wait, I seem to recognize that face... The game of the Ravenclaw prefects, is what this girl could not be... Did i know this girl? She's in first year in... oh yeah, i know who is she!
