vienna goodwin is quite the interesting character. bold, ambitious, stubborn, and impulsive, the girl never seems to run out of energy. vienna is bold, she's not afraid to be herself and put herself out there, even around strangers. she works hard to achieve her goals, doing whatever it takes and fighting until the end. she's determined to get what she wants, and almost never gives in, especially when she's challenged. though, she tends to be a tad bit impulsive at times. she often acts more on emotion than thought, and she isn't the type to give many thoughts before jumping headfirst into a situation. along with that, she has a bit of trouble keeping her mouth shut. she's very, honest, most of the time, brutally honest. she speaks her mind and isn't afraid to let people know what she thinks, in fact, she prefers to be heard. she feels strongly for her opinions and ideas, and even when she's wrong she takes quite a bit of time to accept it. with all these loud traits, vienna has a bad habit of getting into trouble. she seems to always be causing mischief or getting into fights, but she really can't help it. she struggles in seeing consequences, maybe it's a side effect of growing up so spoiled, but she doesn't need to see them anyways. vienna always finds a way to wiggle her way out of trouble, and consequences. at times, she can be a tad bit narcissistic, going on about herself. a bit selfish too, and although she won't admit it, she often prioritizes herself. in her eyes, she can't do much wrong. in her eyes, she's always in the right.

A CLOSER LOOK ───────────── Vienna's a bit small, yet eyecatching. Her hair is golden brown, a trait she inherited from her mother, falling to her chest in neat waves. However, her hair is naturally curly and frizzy. She prefers to keep it in smaller waves, considering her natural hair is something she inherited from her father, whom she prefers not to talk about. Her eyes are hazel brown, framed by long eyelashes and a pair of round glasses which she received from repeatedly recklessly staring directly into the sun when she was younger. Being of Southeast Asian descent, her skin is a bit tanned, but maintains its rosiness. She's short and light, making her agile and quick, also excellent at wiggling out of sticky situations. She doesn't pay much attention to her grooming, for she can occasionally be found with tangled hair and dirty clothes, but it's tolerable.

! Much like her personality, Vienna's style is bold and eyecatching, a bit of a mix of retro and indie. Filled with bright colors and eccentric patterns, nothing in Vienna's wardrobe is plain or simple. It mainly consists of printed cardigans, sweaters, or shirts, paired with pairs of jeans or shorts. chapter one. the affair ────────────────── She hates to admit it, but deep down, she knows. Vienna was born into a life of chaos. She was born to a muggle nurse mother, Davina Torres, and pureblood father, Caspian Goodwin. Davina had been living with her elderly mother, Imelda, in Wiltshire, England, on their family farm. As the funds got lower, she began working her job as a nurse to help support herself and her mother. It was then she met Caspian, a ministry official. Caspian, who had originally been from London, had been sent to Wiltshire for work, and soon the two clicked. Just over a year later, Vienna Mars Goodwin was born on a warm April morning.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ONCE UPON A TIME...

The problem was, Caspian wasn't an average pureblood. In fact, the Goodwin line had been one of respectable Slytherin Aurors and ministry officials, and certainly not one of half-bloods and muggles. Caspian's mother, Florence, discovered the affair and was enraged that Caspian dared to disrupt the family name. She demanded he come home to London, the Goodwin Manor, even threatening to eliminate his newly found family. A conflicted Caspian informed Davina about the situation, asking for her input. Davina knew well that she was in no condition to raise a child on her own. Without Caspian, her finances would barely be able to support her and her elderly mother, much less a newly born child. In a panic, she begged Caspian to take Vienna with him and return to his family. Respecting her wishes, Caspian wistfully agreed to his mother's request, under one condition. He'd be able to bring the child with him. Florence agreed.

And so, that was where Vienna lived out her years. The Goodwin manor, along with five cousins, two aunts, two uncles, her grandparents, and a father who, after the loss of his wife, refused to even talk to the girl. But even with the family's high status, it wasn't easy being a Goodwin. For Vienna at least. Just because her grandmother allowed her admittance into the household didn't mean she necessarily enjoyed her company. The majority of Vienna's years consisted of strict lessons from her grandmother, and the constant reminder that she wasn't like the rest of the family. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

chapter two. loss ────────────────── But there was one person, one person who was there for her. One person who actually cared about her. And that was her cousin, Theo. Theo showed Vienna was kindness really was. If it weren't for Theo, Vienna would've been cold and heartless. But of course, nothing good ever lasted. The issue was, the Goodwin family was well known, yes, and quite respected too, but the fame came with a few enemies here and there. To add onto that, the Goodwins never really used their power correctly, occasionally abusing it and using it to their benefit. One day one of those enemies arrived at the Goodwin manor, a man who had been particularly affected by the Goodwin's power abuse. The Goodwin manor never had proper security, no guards. It's only protection was the secrecy of its location in the outskirts of London, but even that could be easily infiltrated with the right information. And so, it was no surprise the man easily slipped his way in through an open window that morning.

He had came to assassinate Vienna's uncle, but when he ran into the little brown haired girl, he didn't see it as much of an obstacle to eliminate her on the way as well, just to give the Goodwin family a little more pain. The small five year old was practically defenseless, but luckily a certain person had heard her wails for help. Theo rushed to her aid, dueling the man. Unfortunately, the sixth year was unmatched. Christopher, her uncle, had arrived just in time to rescue Vienna and kill the man, but by then, it was much too late for Theo. He was gone.

The Goodwin family wasn't quite the same after that. And to add to her struggles, Vienna's grandmother wasn't that happy that her perfect heir had sacrificed himself to save Vienna. And it didn't help with Vienna's guilt either. But Vienna tried not to linger on it for long. She tried to forget, and it worked. At least on the outside. Deep down, Vienna never wanted to lose anybody again. So she swore to protect the second person she cared the most about. Her other cousin, Theo's sister, Annalise.

chapter three. the magic ────────────────── The first time Vienna used magic was when she was about seven. She had been struggling on a particular concept in her charms tutoring, and her tutor just had to inform her grandmother. The two had gotten into an argument, something that wasn't new to the pair, but Vienna was not in the mood that morning. Perhaps the lack of sleep from the night before had been a contributing factor, but Vienna snapped. The room exploded, sending books, papers, and even a chair flying against the wall. That was the first time and only time Vienna's grandmother had ever been proud of her. It was a relived kind of pride, but pride nonetheless. Of course, she was forced to clean the room afterwards, but her grandmother luckily laid down on the charms thing.
