Born the fourth child in a family with six children (now five), growing up was anything but calm. Maisie and her siblings fought and screamed almost every day, causing strain in their relationships. But as they got older, and she watched her brothers go off to Hogwarts one by one, leaving her and her two sisters at home, she realized just how much she loved them, regardless their epic fights. When they came home, they seemed to have the same thoughts and the siblings were civil, well-mannered members of society again. Now growing up in a calm atmosphere, Maisie was no longer that screaming child who fought with her siblings over the smallest of things--instead, she became happy, and bubbly, always finding joy in life. As she was now the eldest in the house, with her brothers gone in term time, her presence made impressions on her two younger sisters, and she didn't want a repeat, so she began to interact with them with trust. They trusted her, and in turn, she trusted them. This bond was steady, built on years of trust. When her brothers returned, their bonds were stronger as well. Though they still fought from time to time, they were often for big things, and not for small things that could be solved with words.

When Maisie herself went to Hogwarts, she wasn't sure how she wanted to be thought of by her peers, so she kept to herself, reserving her true self for her siblings and parents only. Her mother suggested showing her true self to others and Maisie agreed, though only half-heartedly. Hufflepuff, her house, was known for being inclusive to others and as the happy, simple-minded house. It seemed granted by those in other houses that she would naturally help them in everything, without wanting anything in return. And Maisie did not like the label, so she didn't interact with other houses as much as her own. But slowly, as she joined in the laughs and shared the joy with her classmates, especially her Hufflepuff ones, her bubbly personality brought her many friends, and they trusted her, just like how her siblings did. And Maisie liked being trusted, so she vowed not to break trust, which, once broken, was hard to repair. So she worked hard towards it, helping others when they were in need of help, and encouraging them when they were down. The girl loved being liked by people, and soon, as the year progressed, her very presence made others calm and at ease.

But Maisie never truly believed her presence and her presence alone made people calm, she only thought it was because they had someone by them, and weren't lonely. It wasn't until her eldest brother, Martin, told her on their ride home from King's Cross, when she calmed her younger sister, Madeline, who wanted to go to Hogwarts then and there, after hearing her three siblings' stories, with nothing more than a hug, that he said, "you have an effect on people, you know?" that she discovered, with her very presence, people would calm down.

Growing up, Chatt had been particularly interested in Volleyball. Playing it from day to day, a bit of Baskets and such, but it had always been Volleyball. Not everyone starts off strong, but this guy played every single day every time he came home. Other kids weren't interested in such sport at an age early than this.

Chatt barely played with anyone. But when he did have the chance, he'd hone his skills. Failure and losses, it didn't matter for him. But this grew his skills, eyeing the ball wherever it goes. He wasn't entirely perfected at it, but he was great at an age like this. Practice after practice, this increased his visual awareness. Learning to predict every of its moves.

As someone who also excels in Physics and Maths, may these be muggle subjects, he was quick to find patterns and equations all by his own.
Often seeing it's connections long before others could solve it on their own. Whether he does these subconsciously or not, this trait of his allowed him to excel in his muggle school.

During his younger days, whether he would find something interesting almost instantly in the back of his eyes, it would be that he would quickly find it and take interest at it almost completely. Using his household items, whether this would be a lost coin, a string, an almost empty battery, and other things which could be hazardous to a child when eaten. It was hazardous for him in a different way as he used these items to experiment his little imaginations.
His Mother and Father would quickly catch him, out of parental instinct of course. But this didn't stop him at all. Mechanisms, simple levers, anything this kid can get his hands on, and with a stubborn mind, being proud of his creations.

Whilst he has this ability which applies physically, this can be also applied emotionally. He's great at figuring out habits, emotions, social cues. Let it be a small movement, an unusual sound, or a slight change in someone's behavior rarely escapes his attention. Instead of dismissing these details, he processes them almost unconsciously, allowing him to react quickly and accurately.

Let's say he is possibly open-minded, doesn't let thoughts escape his mind. This attentiveness of his lets it that he often picks up on subtle expressions and body language, giving him a deeper understanding of situations without needing them explained, making him emotionally aware in such events.

His curiosity naturally pushes him to investigate anything unusual, whilst his confidence allows him to trust what he notices even if no one else has seen it yet.

My best friend hates me. I don’t know why or how. Maybe I wasn’t smart enough as a Ravenclaw. Maybe because I wasn’t a Slytherin. But something was wrong and I had to fix it. When I went home after my first year I made sure everything was perfect. I practiced everything. I read every book that I owned on spells, potions, EVERYTHING.
Even when I was younger everything had to be perfect. Especially for West End. I also had to make up for my younger sister. She always was the crazy one. I was the elegant perfect one. The need to be perfect…Well, it was fear of failing people. Besides, compared to my chaotic sister, I was the prefect one with good grades. On one occasion my sister was being told off for getting an C on her school report. However the first quarter, year 4, reports weren’t going out for a week. Make them feel good about you. You can do this for Olive, you have to make up for her. Even at age 8 I felt that I needed to make up for my younger sister. So I checked over my work 10 times that night to make sure I didn’t make a single mistake. I felt very proud because there were none mistakes. I was just scared of failing people. Letting people down was an insecurity of mine and it felt quite weird. At that time I was also starting my run as Matilda, which leads me to West End. I felt especially lots of pressure on West End. People were paying some money to see me and that makes me very nervous about each performance. What if I messed up? That brings me back to the night before my first performance of Matilda. I got home from school, did my homework quickly. Ten minutes for the work 20 minutes to make sure everything was perfect. Then I grabbed the thick script with all my notes and coreo. I sat there for hours, until 11pm practicing. Forward to the next day, during breaks I reread the script over and over. Making sure I wouldn’t forget anything. On West End, they don’t forcefully make you perfect. They just told me to keep going if I made a mistake. That wasn’t going to fly with me. Thank gosh that night I didn’t mess up. When I was under the table before my entrance in “Miracle?” I was worried that I wasn’t center stage enough. Even last year at school. I was terrified of people seeing me fail. Every night I read the lesson plans over and over and practiced answers to questions. Before I left for lessons every morning, I triple checked my bag. During lessons if my handwriting was messy? I either erased the word or started the notes all over. It was scary to think that people thought I wasn’t good enough. Losing my best friend added onto that. Maybe I wasn’t good enough. Maybe that’s why my best friend hated me. I don’t think that feeling will stop soon…

Memories of childhood were fleeting for Erast. Clarity was but a droplet in a swamp of murky, melancholic stillness, rare bursts of bottled starlight that his mind desperately grasped and sealed away, to be forever buried beneath a sandbar a breath away from time's tides. In those days that crawled with such petty pace, despair unhinged its jaw and threatened to swallow him whole. Yet, one light kept the dark at bay– Beauty.

Beauty was the rule, law, and truth for life’s woes. The concept came to him in books. Dashing faces of heroes and enchanting smiles of heroines painted worlds full of wonder with pretty words and even prettier illustrations, becoming artificial pockets of safety for him to dwell in when the confines of his bedroom or the silence of his annex became deafening. After a while, his mind understood: beauty was the good in life, and those who are beautiful are those who attract the good in life. After all, only pretty royals and handsome warriors got their happily ever after. His parents proved it as the truth; The melancholic, tragically-beautiful belle and the handsome, cold yet noble beau, defying all odds and earning their sweet happily ever after. Beauty, charm– younger Erast wanted all of it. If he was beautiful, then wouldn't life become beautiful?

Obsession sparked its fire, shrouding his vision and caving into tunnel vision. His observation of others grew targeted, pinpointing and extracting features desired and praise. Classifying, ranking one's likelihood of happiness. Rosy cheeks, dazzling smiles, doll-like eyes were noticed before greetings and attitudes. Hours spent tidying already neat umber locks and perfecting smiles to conceal the shadow of exhaustion and solely exude sunshine sweetness. All in hopes of studying, shaping, and carving his path to good. An appreciation of what pretty things can bring and mean for poor souls.

However, reality was an unyielding pickaxe plunged into brittle ice, casting cracks into delusion. It became clearer with his acceptance into Hogwarts, when the truth of the matter began to bare its teeth. The truth turned out plain and brutal: Being a pretty face protected nobody. It barely took weeks of his departure before necks craned, and malicious eyes within the clan fixated on his first younger sister, pretty and perfect by all his definitions. Letters of tearful confusion and anxiety from a face that he swore life would treasure filled his closet. It turned out, there was no mercy for the beautiful and precious, no brilliant strategy or saviour who swept in to save the day.

The day the letter from his maternal family arrived, it was as if the universe rewrote itself anew.

In this new universe, there was no prerequisite for happiness. Even if hollow despair reared its ugly head to face the sky, sunshine reached out to kiss its scars and flood its broken shell whole.

Then, an epiphany struck: Beauty was never a physical matter of skin and flesh.

It was the glimmer of starlight in vast night skies, the sweetness of blossoming friendship and shared treats, and the twinkling laughter of his sisters when they visited to hear him read. It was everywhere and nowhere all at once, because true beauty was freedom yet to appear– and that freedom was the true good in life. When beauty came to represent life itself and its infinite potential, how could pretty faces and pleasantries for flesh eyes ever compare?

Beauty laid in the eyes of the beholder, and in the eyes of Erast Yan, the world was truly beautiful.

Damien never knew why people admired how he looked, or why they blushed when he just gave them compliments. Ever since he was younger he seemed to have that effect on people by doing the most simplest things in the world he could still somehow charm someone. It confused him deeply and sometimes had him looking at himself in the mirror, did he think he looked good. Of course he thought he had great looks yet he didn’t think he was someone who would be considered charming. He felt like he was in some sort of twisted puzzle where he was missing a peace of himself. If he was indeed charming where did he get it from as it couldn’t have been Grant. His personality was far too revolting and ugly to be charming.

His mother, Evanora he could see being charming but she was more of a sweet lady which still had charm but not the kind that people associated Damien with. He was knocked out of this thoughts as he got a knock on his door and in pop the heads of his uncles Deigo and Atlas Blackthorne who had a goofy smile on their faces. Damien was lucky he had already gotten decent for the day with a pastel blue button up and a pair of light brown khaki shorts and a pair of brown sandals he had brought on this trips. When his mother told him they were going to Italy he didn’t think he would be meeting Unknown relatives yet here he is with three uncles and aunts and two new grandparents.

They were much more nicer than Damien father side of the family and he honestly felt more at home with them then with his dad side of the family. It seemed they all wanted to make up for not being in Damien life for most of his childhood which he learnt wasn’t their fault as his father was forcing his mother to cut ties with them. But they insisted to today was Diego and Atlas turn and they planned to take him out on the town for the day. “You ready to get this rockin day started mate ?” Deigo asked as he lowered his sunglasses with a cool smirk on his face while Atlas just rolled his eyes at him before smiling at Damien. “Don’t mind him, he’s just super excited to spoil you and show you how cool of a “rockstar” he is” As Atlas said this he used quotations with his hands giving Deigo a little teasing smirk. Damien just quickly nodded and grabbed his bag and star shape sunglasses that Elena had gifted him for his birthday before leaving with his uncles out of the blackthorne manor.

As they walked down the street he noticed many women and men kept staring at both of his uncles, Atlas just smiled at them and gave an awkward wave while Deigo on the other hand would full on wink and blow kisses at them even stopping to compliment their outfits. “Darling you are down right gorgeous, and such a lovely outfit!” He took the man hand and kissed his hand before continuing to walk off with Damien and Atlas.

Damien eyes widen as he finally realized something, he got his charm from his mom genes but noting was as noticeable as the fact that he got it from his uncle Deigo for sure.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Fearless
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Kahira Valerian was once afraid of things that went bump! in the night.

Though the tough, spunky child wouldn't have ever admitted it aloud, she often curled up in the corner of her four-poster bed, staring out the window of her room, down at the shadowed and well-manicured lawn of her family's ancient Cotswolds manor. Because the manor was so old, it often creaked or whistled at night, wind fluting through the attic directly above her; every groan or grinding noise from the shifting of the cobblestones caused shivers to run down her spine. She couldn't help but imagine evil creatures lurking around every corner whenever she tiptoed down to the kitchens for a goblet of iced water - horrible demons with misshapen faces, just ready to attack her at any moment.

The summer of 2025, however, changed all of that. Just a few months after Kahira's tenth birthday, when the hot June sun had vanished underneath the horizon to make way for an only slightly cooler night, her elder brother Blaize was attacked while bringing in the cows early in the morning. Kahira had never cared for the animal-related tasks at the estate, preferring instead to perform the less dirty jobs such as helping her father organise records and clean up his experimental potions study; this meant that she was very rarely out-of-doors, which she definitely enjoyed. Bugs and critters were never quite her forte, and in that cool June morning before the dawn, that dislike of the outside saved her. Blaize, who had never once tsked or complained when assigned the creature chores, was found covered in blood in the barn. Something had scarred him permanently, both mentally and physically, turning him into one of the very demons that Kahira had always imagined lurking in the niches of her family manor.

For the first few weeks, Kahira did her best to avoid her newly-turned brother as he adjusted to life as a dhampir. Her hands shook whenever she saw him at supper, or spotted the blood pops in the kitchen; she couldn't help thinking, Blood belongs in potions and people, not popsicles. But beneath these fearful thoughts, there was also something else darker lurking within the young girl's mind: that finally, after all these years of hard work and dedication to her family's business, her parents might actually realise that Blaize was unfit to be considered the heir. His soft, weak nature and lack of interest had always stirred Kahira's frustration with him - after all, why should his extra year of age win out over her actual passion for the corporation and its contents? But now, weakness and detachment could combine with social stigma - after all, the Valerian Consortium had been human-led since 1808. Surely her parents would no longer consider Blaize the heir with this horrible new affliction he now carried.

Unfortunately, Kahira's disgust for her brother's new condition was not shared by Aldric and Eloise Valerian. Having been the people to find her brother, her parents still held a great love for him that almost seemed even to grow after the attack - like when they looked at him, they saw not a terrible monster but their blood-soaked little boy dying on the barn floor.

And so Kahira's fear morphed into rage. When the family took Blaize to King's Cross to see him off for his first year, Kahira sulked at the back of the pack, arms folded and dark eyes ablaze (no pun intended). Whilst he was away at Hogwarts, the daughter did her best to show her parents how better off they were without him: taking on extra chores, helping to reorganise her father's files and mother's herbs in alphabetical order, putting three times the effort into her tutor-led schooling, and the like. But no matter how hard she worked, no matter how much her bones ached at night when she tucked herself into bed or her brain smarted during lessons on the history of the Valerian Consortium's long and complex family tree, Eloise and Aldric both never saw her as anything more than a particularly pretty spare. Conversations at the supper table ranged from Blaize's most recent letter home to Blaize's upcoming visit for whatever holiday would be next. By the end of the school year, when the beloved prodigal son came home for summer, Kahira found that she no longer shuddered when noises startled her in the night.

After all, nothing could be worse than her brother, whom she no longer feared, but rather despised.

29 Knuts in a Sickle. 17 Sickles in a Galleon. A single Galleon dividing into 493 Knuts. It had taken Henry months to wrap his head around the arbitrarily complicated system of wizarding coinage. But ask him the exchange rate between Pounds Sterling and Galleons? He couldn't tell you. Though judging by how hard it had seemed to be for certain wizarding families to scrounge enough together to get their children school supplies... something told him the answer was hardly as clean as a one-to-one ratio. He imagined the actual number balance was skewed much, much more in favor of the solid gold coins than that.

When, with only a single year of use, Henry had managed to break a tool the vast majority of wix-kind felt was absolutely necessary, he dreaded telling his parents how much it would cost to get it replaced. They were Muggles, so they had even less of a frame of reference for how much the innocuous sounding 7 Galleons actually was. But for a family like his, one with parents who sometimes had to pull extra shifts at work just to make ends meet? He expected this to be a major hurdle that he'd have to find some way to pay for himself. Not that he had much of a plan for how to do that. And while the Holbrooks loved their son unconditionally, he knew that, he was certain the necessity of keeping all four of them fed and housed would likely take priority over what they probably viewed as a fancy stick. Honestly, he could hardly fault them for that perspective.

So after the sorrowful boy returned home for the summer following his brief excursion to Castelobruxo... after presenting two halves of a once whole and pliant length of mayhaw and horned serpent horn... it came as a bit of a shock to him when his parents didn't shrug off his dilemma. No, they'd taken one look at the broken wand, shared a glance, and within the week they were en route to Diagon Alley in order for him go through the Weighing of the Wands Ceremony once again. Henry didn't ask them what lengths they'd had to go to in order to get enough money for this without putting other household needs in jeopardy - he was sure he wouldn't like the answer.

So there he stood, a rather fidgety boy on the cusp of beginning his twelfth trip 'round the sun, facing rejection after rejection from an ever-growing mountain of potential wands. It was this way the first time as well. And even though there were fewer people milling about the shop this time to bear witness to yet another seemingly endless ceremony, it was hardly only his mother, father, and the wandmaker in attendance. What a disaster...

Finally, finally, the agonizing process ceased. For when the boy's fingers wrapped about the intricate handle and his fingers traced the grain of willow wood spiraling upwards, the nagging insecurities plaguing his mind seemed to quiet for a moment. The wandmaker arched an eyebrow, and smirked a little. This pairing was a bit of a contradiction, you see.

Willow, as Henry learned this day, sought insecurity such as his - but it sought it in those quieter individuals who felt unsure despite having a great deal of potential. Henry... wasn't quite sure what to make of that. What potential could a boy like him possibly have? But that was the thing with potential, wasn't it? Especially amongst the insecure. You never quite know which way a tree will grow when examining an acorn, but you know the end result is going to be magnificent. If the squirrels or Tatsu, in Henry's case don't kill it first, at least.

Henry, being Henry, wept when he learned the core was fashioned of a dragon's heartstring. He'd first cast using a wand made from a creature's horn. He liked to imagine the serpent was fine after the harvesting, that the horn regrew. However, it's a bit harder to do that with a wand core made out of something's heart, now, isn't it? But the dragon didn't want Henry's pity. It wanted his fire. While they made warm and reliable wands for warm and reliable wizards - and when he wasn't being a sad, blubbering mess of snot and tears, the boy was both of those things at his core - it wanted the stubbornness that he so often kept hidden behind his polite meekness. It wanted him to stop being so passive, and would push him into the activeness and assertion it knew he could possess while staying true to himself. In fact, the wand core didn't just want it, it demanded it, and likely would barely function unless it got its way.

All in all, it was a few inches shorter than his first wand - which wasn't saying much, the mayhaw had been creeping towards large, which had always seemed a bit extravagant for the young wizard. This, however, sat quite comfortably at right around the average mark as far as wands went, neither so large as to be noteworthy, nor so short as to suggest a lack of character, instead it settled into a comfortable and safe middle ground - which suited the boy perfectly.

Then there was that flexibility. His first wand had been pliant, and paired with a wood and core that both coddled him a bit to be extraordinarily forgiving for his people pleasing tendencies. Slightly yielding, however, when combined with Willow and Catalonian Fireball? This wand knew he was never going to be a bastard to people, it knew he was always going to try to be kind and loving and warm. It didn't mind that. It appreciated that about him. But it was only willing to bend so far before holding its ground.

Yes, this wand was going to be both his greatest champion and his greatest challenge as it tugged him out of his tendency to set himself on fire to keep people warm. In fact... it very well might literally set him on fire for his trouble if he ever slipped back into that mindset.

Vale went against her father's own command during the summer. An attempt to make her own potion. A talent that Ashwoods naturally had, and even still built upon. But Vale was impatient. And boredom in itself was a natural curse to Vale.

She attempted to make an even stronger version of the Erumpent Potion. A potion already so volatile and likely, a history of causing its own maker grave suffering. Her reason for it? Simply, why not?

Vale already knew the original recipe; she theorized that doubling the ingredients would succeed her plan. She ended up being correct, to a degree. All at the cost of causing a massive explosion that shook her family's home and caused considerable damage.

Her father would race to his lab with her mother, and in confused, yet fearful eyes, would find Vale on the ground suffering from burn wounds all over her smothering body amongst the magical, colorful flames of various other potions affected by the blast. Instead of screams or groans of agony, Vale would only be laughing on the ground where she was. Her eyesight was gone, having the explosion wound her so severely that she ended up having to be sent to St. Mungo's Hospital for treatment. Her odds of recovery were low.

But still, amongst the pain and loss of sight, Vale could only smile in glee. Her theory was correct. Now she just had to configure a way to prevent the explosion from occurring during the process of making the potion. When she told her father this, recognizing his voice and movements upon his visit to the ward, she expected an agreeing crackle. It was usual for the two to get along and agree with each other's wits. But strangely enough, she heard none of such from her father upon revealing her plan.

The opposite occurred. She wasn't allowed out of the house upon recovery (IF, she recovered at all). She was barred from his lab (Indignant! Being her father's assistant was her summer job!), and most importantly, she was to remake all the potions she had damaged in his lab! What sort of blasphemy is that? The man who would help her hide a body when needed is turning into her secondary mother!

Perhaps it was out of spite, or for the first time ever, Vale was beginning to understand the feeling of 'guilt.' She was pretty sure she'd feel no guilt over the death of all her enemies, but from her own father's reaction? Vale was excited over her odds of never feeling guilt. That meant her chances of becoming a serial killer were high! Now, it was ruined. Just like her eyesight.

Vale would ask for Flobberworm Fritters to eat for her hospital dinner every night, and her nurse would lie between her teeth, saying she'd make sure of it. Only for Vale to experience the taste of fresh-cut vegetables and low-acid pasta! Vale was beginning to believe she had officially found her sworn enemy, a simple nurse in the heart of London. Until it was decided that Vale would be able to recover on her own, and thus was sent home. By then, she'd forgotten about the nurse of lies.

Her mother, the 'common sense' of the family, kept a hard eye on her. Vale could just feel it in her very bones. The ones that were healed, of course. Vale wasn't even allowed to stand most of the time, instead needing a form of a wheelchair to move. Eventually, she grew tired of the coddling that reminded her of her days as a small child and decided to simply start walking on her own, even with protests from her own mother. Of course, the world was dark, but Vale was still with all her limbs intact, believe it or not. She used her hands to touch the walls and furniture familiar to her across her home. Eventually, Vale became used to the darkness. Sounds grew louder, and even her own notice of unique smells grew stronger. But still, it would affect her potion studies nevertheless. In comparison, her father's own punishments towards her were nothing.

But just like it was considered a miracle of Vale's medical recovery, her eyesight slowly dimmed back into vision, albeit only to a certain, grayscale degree. Even with the magical cures to her burns and vision, the nurses warned that full recovery wasn't guaranteed. Vale's body did experience the direct effect of the blast. "Achromatopsia", was the word. Apparently, the explosion did more than add a few burn scars and bone damage. Now everything was in black, white, and the mundane grey to Vale. Still, at least she can see now, when she squints. And if she's lucky, sometimes she can see colors on certain days.

One day, in the midst of her 'punishment' of re-making a safe potion she destroyed on a good, colored day, her father moved to sit her down with her mother. A serious talk. No threats, no blackmail, not even the conversation on the latest death. No, it was about Vale and her antics. The antics that apparently almost put her in the obituary. She could tell from his voice that what she did likely made the man fear for her own life, again. Nevertheless, Vale learned hard enough that maybe making a new, intentionally explosive potion was a bad idea.

As the summer slowly was coming to a close, Vale was beginning to wonder if she would have to end her broom racing career officially, until her father came to her with magical contact lenses. They were brown, able to lessen the annoying light that would often cause her to squint during her black-and-white vision days. As soon as Vale easily placed the lenses in her eyes, she felt as if her usual vision returned. She knew such a handy tool wasn't cheap, even if the family's treasury were awfully full. She eventually was allowed to start flight training again at home (when she finished up making the last of the damaged potions), but not without her mother's guidance. After all, it was probably the only thing keeping Vale from getting into criminal trouble.

On certain days, Vale's amber eyes would be exchanged with a more dull brown to reveal the colored lenses that allowed her to see the world once more in its full colors when she required it. Other days, she could simply not be bothered with her lenses and just wear a black blindfold if she planned to stay in a familiar area (such as home).

Before her return to school, she ended up apologizing to her parents, recognizing the true damage she had caused the family.

She only promised not to be caught the next time.

Leo’s first year at Hogwarts was all about studying and learning as much as possible. To please his parents he studied hard and practiced constantly including working on his accuracy with spells. All year he would practice spells over and over in and out of class until he could perfect them and make sure things went exactly as planned and were as accurate as possible so there was no mistakes. As he had goals to join the Ravenclaw Quidditch team he also spent time out on the training pitch on his own and with friends working on skills so that when he could try out he would have a better chance at making the team. He had hopes of becoming a chaser or beater and wanted to make sure he would have accurate aim and worked on his focus and strength as well. Training included trying to put focus in to score goals against an opponent (usually whoever was practicing with him) or trying to aim a bludger at them. While in theory it wasn’t hard, in practice there was a lot more to it. There were many times he couldn’t get the aim how he wanted it and would end up frustrated at himself at it. Under the tutelage of an older student and with the encouragement and help of his other friends who played for their house teams he kept working to improve his accuracy. Eventually he started getting the hang of it and felt like he was making good progress.
When he joined some unofficial games he found this out. Playing against other players in a real game was a whole different ball game versus practicing and training on the pitch with friends. There was more to pay attention to and many things going on at once which would affect his focus and accuracy. It was eye opening for him to see how he could do in an actual game and he used it to keep working on his skills. Leo was determined to keep working on himself until he could prove himself to be a good player. When he went to try out for the team, he put everything he trained and practiced for all year into play. Throwing the bludger at someone, getting goals, he tried to do everything he could to show how he could bring his accuracy and strength to the team. With all the work he had been doing for his first year he was able to make the team and was extremely happy he was able to fulfill one of the dreams he had for his time in Hogwarts. Now he could train with the team and improve even more.
