Why do you want to be a mentor?
I want to help out the newer members of the community and guide them on the right path and to help them enjoy and love this site just as much as I do. Being a mentor and helping my mentees get their barings of the site and to understand it and also enjoy it and be less intimidated would mean the world to me if I can at least be helpful and maybe a little bit of a light to someone’s day.

Why do you want to be a mentor?
I want to help out the newer members of the community and guide them on the right path and to help them enjoy and love this site just as much as I do. Being a mentor and helping my mentees get their barings of the site and to understand it and also enjoy it and be less intimidated would mean the world to me if I can at least be helpful and maybe a little bit of a light to someone’s day.

Why do you want to be a mentor? I was a mentor a few years ago, back when the mentorship program started up. Though many of my mentees went inactive and I never got to complete their mentorships, the mentees who stayed active on H.io still provide to me a sense of fulfillment and pride even today (looking at you, Quinn Root)! From my help with summer camp to my job on the Headliner, I finally feel as though I'm back to an active enough state consistently that I would like to return to being a mentor and continuing to help the new generations of the site. Even better, Aly in-character is starting to feel more protective of the younger years and this would fit perfectly in the RP requirement for mentors as I feel that she would be more open to assisting younger students now.

I also had a mentor when I first started. Didn't really know the site until they gave me the information and how to make an ency to join stuff. I was quite lost the first month on the site but I managed and now I've survived about a year and a half on the site.
If it weren't for my mentor, I would've quit almost 100%. (thanks clair) I've found that most new players quit because they didn't know how to start but as a mentor, I can try to combat that by helping newbies by providing information about the site while also helping them get started with things like a thread and an ency.
IC-wise, Ara has this little persona of a helpful upperclasswoman to her juniors in the 1st and 2nd year. She makes an effort to put on a lighter disposition in an effort to not scare them away. It would be fitting for her to be a mentor somewhere in her time at Hogwarts.

- OOC: I know how overwhelming this site can be when one first joins, especially if they aren't familiar with the RPG systems. All the 'places' you can go to, and all the instructions you get but don't quite understand... Being new to RP and this site not so long ago myself, I totally understand that feeling.
- OOC: I got mentored myself, and it truly was very helpful to have someone you can rely on. I want to do the same to others as my mentor did to me.
- IC: My character, Elisa, has always been a highly empathetic person, and undertaking the job of mentor would suit her personality. It is also a chance for her to meet some friends

When I first joined this site, I was overwhelmed by everything this site has to offer, but with my mentors help, I was able to navigate myself around the site, and I grew to love it more. I want to be a mentor so then I can be able to help all new comers feel less overwhelmed when they join the site.
