More than seeing, she felt it. The absence of the sound of scraping vegetation and branches that blocked the path. The sound perpetuated by the vision that invaded her senses, haunted her, making her chest throb with irrational fear and terror.
A sigh of relief escaped between her lips as Ying closed her dark brown eyes and stopped her broom, hovering there for a few minutes. Inhaling and exhaling deeply and slowly, giving space for her mind to find the necessary balance. So that the young Gryffindor could finally embrace her senses and be able to think and act clearly.
“A Boggart, it was just a Boggart Ying.” She muttered to herself, to convince herself. "It was just a Boggart!"This time this phrase entered her mind more as a reprimand than a logical conclusion. "Damn Ying! It was just a Boggart!"She said to herself a little lowder. How upset and angry she felt with herself, due to her lack of ability to realize that she just had to control her fear and instincts... she just had to be a little more rational and she would have been able to move forward instead of run like a scared little girl, like a coward...
No, it wasn't time to think about that, about how she should have acted. It was time for her to get her act together and get her head back on straight. The focus was just one, making up for lost time and doing her best to compensate her team for her failure to recognize the obstacle in her path and reacting in the worst possible way.

While not a simple feat, overcoming the winds was a walk (fly in this case) in the park, compared to what laid in wait. She even found an opening to throw another spell into the wild- this one, she was certain, had hit. Soon, Xailah would come to face another smattering of trees- not as dense as the woods now far behind her, but there were enough leafy monuments to cause issues, and conceal something in dormant. Nestled among thin trunks, a creature slept. Hidden. Unsuspecting. The lioness wouldn't realize she had awoken something as she rammed right into a tree; and whatever that something was, was very angry.
An opening in tree trunks framed the visage of freedom, she kept her sights ahead, drowning out the bat of massive wings. That was until something sharp and talon-like looped in her hair, pulling her head back with a pointed and frantic tug. The whiplash sent an alarm signal down her neck, that traveled through her spine like rapids across slick stone. Eyes slotted. Teeth bared sharp and knife-like. Xailah would let out a sound that was far from her typical ladylike mannerisms: a warning hiss. She'd feel her hair writhe and her skin ripple. She'd swipe at the thing, intent on driving whatever was attacking her away. She was not in the headspace to play around with things that wanted to do her harm. She groped wildly behind, until her own claws found hold on something firm and prickly. She'd yank, just as it had done to her. The thing squealed, she released, and then there was the retreat of wings.
It wouldn't catch up to her until she outflew the creature- the deep sting in the back of her head. Shakily, she brought a hand to the base of her skull; swiftly, as to not distract herself for too long. When she pulled away to inspect the damage, she found crimson glistening through the black of her glove. Wetness trickled down her neck, tangling in her long hair that had come loose from it's ponytail, and seeping into the collar of her catsuit. A indescribable fuzz would strike her brain like an icepick. It hazed her mind, sending her into an addled state. She would slump on her broom, her color quite literally draining from her person, as if she were a fish in distress. Slowly, but surely, her lively pigmentation would fade into dull, chalk-pale monochrome. Unexplained lethargy was setting in, however she was determined to keep focus. The race was nearing completion, she could hold out for a little bit longer.

A glint in her eye, June reached out to grab Vale’s broom. Round and round and round the pair went, until June let go and Vale went careening through the course. She was in second place now, things were too close for comfort. It was time to finish this damn race, and finish it they would.

And all was chaos and looming destruction around Colin! Far ahead and around so many twists and curves as to be invisible, he knew Vale and June were speeding towards death or victory. Or, perhaps both. Either way! So long as the Basilisks were victorious! A little ways ahead of him, Colin saw Wyatt sling what looked like a healing spell towards Vale --- she would sure need one, Colin knew!
But here, Colin was leaving devastation behind. The Great Golden Giant had been brought down, Ying was fleeing for her very life and --- Colin smirked --- dear old Mav was sprawled on the ground! Brilliant! And speaking of brilliant, someone had set fire to part of the race course!
Colin considered the mayhem a job well done!

The half-giant shifted his weight to one side and with one big swing managed to redirect his 'broom' towards the racing track. This wasn't his race, he felt. The main thing left for him to do was to make sure at least one of his teammates got a shot at making this track their own. His right leg arched over the trunk before he made himself comfortable in the little seat that was attached to the back of the tree. Without hesitation, the Pine Chopper swooshed to life, displacing bits of mud and grass as it lost contact with the ground.

Della had never flown better. No obstacle was too difficult to evade. No creature hiding in her path could catch her. It was hard to understand how she had started this race so out of it, but now she was in the lead (she probably owed a lot to Hugh throwing her ahead). She could see the finish line. She just had to cross it.

On the other hand, the Gryffindors threw the projectiles again. Della threw some projectiles at Vale and her attack hit successfully! Not only that, something surprising also happened. Hugh, still with his super-tight blindfold, successfully hit Colin with his super strength. Zach was in awe seeing that before he realized he had to make a comment about it. "Gryffindor seemed on fire this round! Della can hit Vale successfully. And Hugh! Despite being blinded by a blindfold, he can throw his projectiles at Colin! Is it a revenge move?" And not long after that, another surprising event happened. Zach gasped before said, "Xailah makes Vale move back to Unit 16!"
Ying flew forward after being chased by the Boggart. She flew again to pass Unit 5, the fiery thorn unit. She could pass the obstacle successfully even though he had to feel the heat from the fire.UNIT 5 - Easy Thorn (ACC DC 12)

Congratulations to the racers of the Gryffindor team! And for the Slytherin Team, you guys did a good job. This race is very exciting! By this means, the race between Gryffindor and Slytherin has ended. Good job for both teams and we are expecting to see your performance in the next season!"
