Rita finally came back to the Stadium wearing her swimming clothes. She haven't worn them for a long time since she entered Hogwarts because there are simply few oppotunities to wear them on campus. She found them to be a bit tight, so it took quite a while for her to fit in her clothes. That is why she was a bit late to come back. "Maybe I will ask my mum to buy me a new swimsuit when I come back home on Christmas." Rita thought when she was trying her best to fit in the suit. When she came back to the stadium, the team leader Edward was already there waiting for her, along with other team members. Rita walked close to them and apologized, "Sorry I was a bit late to come. Hopefully I am not too late. It takes ages for me to try on this tight swimsuit! Yes, someone told me about our strategies and I am ready to play the game. Hope we can work together to win the game and get the chocolate frogs!" Rita looked around the Stadium with excitement, and was confident and looking forward to the game. She was hoping to win the game and add some more frogs to her collection.

Sophia frowned as Pax didn't even acknowledge her little quip. It was unfair. She crossed her arms and pouted, before realizing that it was probably a good idea to stretch. She didn't know much about swimming, but before coming to Ireland, she'd played on the elementary school soccer team, so she knew that stretching was important.

"Kim! Don't forget to stretch," she called out. "You could get a bad cramp when you're swimming!"

She sat and reached to touch her toes, groaning happily at the sensation of her muscles loosening up. She was really getting out of shape, if the lack of definition in her belly and legs were anything to go by. She considered the possibility of maybe bringing a soccer ball to school when the new year officially started. Just to get back in shape. Besides, playing with her friends would be fun. Especially Colin. He had the best reactions to muggle stuff.

"Hiro!" she called out as a curious thought struck her. "Have you ever played soccer before?"

Her eyes continued to scan the crowd as her back experienced a particularly amazing popping sensation. She groaned happily again, closing her eyes in bone-cracking bliss. When she opened them, she saw another familiar figure in the distance. It was Bubba! He was on the same team as Hiro and the mean-looking girl that was glaring at Sophia.

"Bubba! Hey! Good luck! You're gonna need it!" she shouted to him.

She listened intently to the rules as Pax explained them, eager to try to get over her little fear of falling into the water and equally eager to prove herself to Kim and Hiro. This was gonna be fun!

Ayako sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose.

She was all for competing with foreign schools and representing Mahoutokoro with honor and integrity, and she could certainly appreciate cultural differences. After all, she - along with the rest of the foreign students - was the outlier here. They were the ones with different cultures and beliefs than the students of Hogwarts.

Still, the blue-haired banshee didn't seem normal by any accounts.

"This girl is Sophia? What do you see in her? She's so loud and obnoxious," she asked Hiro rhetorically with clear distaste in her expression. Hiro could be a bit... excitable when it came to relationships with his peers, but even he had his limits.

"No holding back. If you sense even a small shred of weakness amongst the enemy, you must pounce indiscriminately. Don't let your sentimental nature get the best of you, Hiro-san," she said in English, deciding it would be rude to keep talking in Japanese. Plus, she needed the practice, so it was a win-win situation.

She stretched as the referee of the match explained the rules. Her eyes were focused intensely upon the girl floating upon their broom. She could leave no room for misinterpretation, so she paid close attention, testing each word upon her own tongue and committing it to memory.

The competition was upon them.

A tilt of his head, as the dark-skinned Indian boy considered his new captain. Reserved was the word that came to mind. Boring was a close second. How people like that could exist, without an ounce bit of chaos in their lives he would never know. He sent a smile to the one girl who had giggle at his antics (EmmaLee LeDames), and moved his attention to the others.

Thankfully he did not need to search far, his attention distracted by a Russian (?) girl who had actually decided to bite on his bait. Aryaan bowed, much too deeply and dramatically for anyone to even assume he was being serious. When he straightened, he had the biggest Cheshire grin on his face.

“I bow to you, oh great and unstoppable queen-minister of Russian magic, Her Imperial Excellency Kamilla Yavlinsky. I am ever your humblest of servants.” Here, he tilted his head slyly. “Especially now all that magic has been taken from the world, and we needs rely on just us and ourselves.”

A small pause, eyes rapidly scanning over the other members of this team, until his eyes fell on someone who was clearly the oldest one here. She was standing off to herself, and had not yet established herself as the oldest – and thus wisest – of the group. It was a good start.

“And what about you, oh great Lady of the Eternal Silence,” he called out to her cheerfully. “We have Captain Serious and Queen-Minister and a pirate and boring people with names and not titles. Do you have a name. Or a title?”

Cielle gave all of her teammates a once-over. Seeing as she knew literally none of them, it was probably a good idea to get a vague idea of who they were. They all seemed to be younger than her (dear god, were any of them incoming first years? some of them certainly looked young enough...), except for one girl with dark hair standing silently to one side. Cielle remembered that she had smiled at her when she introduced herself, so she moved to stand next to her. "What school are you from?" she asked. Cielle adjusted her top nervously. Putting yourself out there to meet new people was always a bit scary, even for the confident Norwegian girl. "Have you played this game before?"

Cielle had played Capture the Flag a few times before with her friends back at home, but she'd always found the setting up part a little too long-winded for her liking, so they'd resorted to classic games like tag and hide-and-seek instead. It was different now that the game had been set up for her, of course, and it was certainly a lot more impressive than what she and her friends had come up with in the past. She was looking forward to playing this game.

As Everett started scanning the battlefield, Vivienne and Olive looked to him for strategy. Which was smart on their part. He was a Horned Serpent after all. Known for their strong mental capacities and ability to think through problems quickly. They were the house of the mind. He turned to his team, pulling them in close. "The first strategy is to win. Got it?" He grinned cheekily, knowing there was more to it. He went on to explain what he thought they should do. Keeping a low whisper in case there was anyone with particularly good ears listening. "I'm Everett by the way, but you can call me Rett." His sweet as a peach southern accent dripped with charm as he nodded at Vivienne. While he was solidly taken and gay. There was no harm in laying on a little charm.

"If you need help just shout, we're all in this together." As the starting signal went off, he prepared himself to dash out. There was only one thing worse than losing, and that was getting second place. Which simply wouldn't do. There were far too many of these summer games that he had gotten close to sweet victory but had it stolen from him at the last minute. Even though a couple of their team members seemed to be missing, he wouldn't let the rest of the team be dragged down by it.

Stephen had stepped back from his group as more of his team had arrived. He was always quite friendly and affable, but he had been uncharacteristically quiet for those minutes while standing on the Lilac Leviathan's platform. Well, it may have seemed uncharacteristically quiet to those who knew him even a little from summer camp thus far. The silence on his part right now, however, was what he did when he was strategizing; when he was thinking. While everyone was gathering around and chatting, Stephen was using his time to look over the barriers his team would have to successfully bypass in order to get to their flags. And there were some formidable barriers to be sure. He would make a note of something here and notice of something over there, committing it all to memory so that it could be offered up when it came time to focus and develop their team plan.

The platforms, all of them - not just his - were now beginning to get crowded. He smiled. It was going to be an exciting game. He turned his attention now away from the barriers and to his team. He smiled and waved as he saw EmmaLee, one of his tent mates. It was always nice to play any game with a friendly face present. He turned to see that there was an older girl with long, dark hair, standing back from everyone like he was now doing. Maybe he needed to step into the fray and introduce himself.

Walking up to his group as a boy was taunting a blond girl about being Queen of something, Stephen just stopped and waited until he was finished. "Hello, everyone. I'm Stephen Schwartz, a second year from Ilvermorny. I think we have a great shot at this if we play it smart."

After handing his paper to his captain, Seven scrambled back into line. He let his eyes glaze as his teammates whispered--teased--to each other. It had been a while since he'd played anything that was similar to capture the flag. The water made him more nervous than he wanted to admit—but they wouldn’t let a newbie drown. Wait. Would they? Seven honestly didn’t know where the boundaries were at this school—it left him feeling a little unmoored. All the famous stories that came from Hogwarts were incredibly high-strung and daring, and dangerous—wait, what was he thinking, of course they wouldn’t let him drown, although one time a girl got kidnapped by a giant snake in a chamber below the castle so, like—

He shook his head, cleared himself out of it. His team captain was giving final instructions. There was a charged energy in the air and it was only heightening more with every shift of his teammates’ feet—and the official announcer was reading out the rules. Seven jittered, rocked back and forth on his feet, felt the ship sway under him.

And then. And then. The whistle blew.

And Seven was ready, to join the fray.
