Juliana's life before attending Hogwarts is quite ordinary and uneventful. She grew up in a town, Newport, living with her parents. Her family is wealthy and successful, though not particularly supportive and loving. Juliana had a typical Muggle upbringing, completely unaware of the existence of magic and the wizarding world. She attended a local school and had a few close friends from her neighborhood. Juliana is known for her curiosity and intelligence, always eager to learn new things. She is an avid reader and has a particular fascination with astrology and the natural world. Her bedroom is filled with books on various subjects. She prefers spending time alone, engrossed in her books and studies, but if she must participate in social activities, she will. Juliana is content with her small circle of friends and her family. Juliana discovered a passion for Muggle soccer. While her primary focus remained on her studies, she found that soccer offered a different kind of thrill and camaraderie. On the grassy fields of the school, she would often join games with her friends and fellow students. The sport provided her with a refreshing break from the world of studying and allowed her to enjoy the simple pleasure of running, kicking the ball, and feeling the rush of competition.

First Instance of Magic:

In Juliana's first encounter with magic in the non-wizarding world, she was a young child, and the experience was both bewildering and enchanting. On this particular day, she was playing in her backyard, innocently picking colorful flowers, and observing butterflies in the warm sunlight. However, her ordinary playtime took an unexpected turn when she reached out to touch a vibrant wildflower. As her tiny fingers brushed against its petals, the flower's colors seemed to intensify, and it suddenly floated in the air, encircled by a shimmering, iridescent aura. For a few mesmerizing moments, the flower danced before her, and gently descended back to the ground right after.

Borne to Derrick Abraham Norden and Hyacinth Camille Rochefort-Norden; both families well-placed and prestigious within their separate wizarding societies, but a union that was not meant to be.

Following graduation from Hogwarts, amateur duelist Derrick Norden would be pestered relentlessly to settle into a real career and find a partner; one young man so hungry for glory would refuse to marry, avoiding such distractions in his budding career despite his mother's criticism. Stealthily climbing the ranks of his dueling league over the years, the wizard would eventually go national and become a sensation, garnering a reputation of awe from dedicated followers of the sport. He would become one of many crowd favorites for his talent, victories, and charm, but every year would bring on newer, younger, and superior duelists with a similar ambition of his own. After many thrilling yet challenging seasons, it would eventually be time for Derrick to step off the piste.

For the national league to drop such talent would be an incredible waste; Derrick still had potential and much to prove; therefore, the man would be selected for the position of coaching the national league for several years to come. While his leadership and caliber brought great success to his team, earning several victories, the man would not be satisfied and held higher aspirations: to buy his own team. Combining generational wealth and his earnings, Derrick would work tirelessly towards the purchase of a national dueling team. It was an exhausting several months until the stars aligned and the purchase finally made; the man could finally find satisfaction now that his dreams had been reached and would prepare himself and his team for the new challenges on the drawing board.

His journey as a Dueling Manager would eventually tread into unknown waters as Derrick's elder sister, Cadence Leveret, and her husband's secret trial against the Wizengamot would inspire unwanted attention. While it was unlikely that Derrick could be involved in such rumors and slander that had met his ears, the man believed it was possible that the trial could potentially drag his dueling team into poor publicity because of Derrick's blood ties. Regardless of the actual circumstances that may have proceeded, Derrick remained cautious and took matters into his own hands, promptly selling his team after being an owner for only a few years and withdrawing from public view.

Derrick ultimately decided to relocate to France for the duration of the Leveret trial after hearing rumors and slander, wanting to avoid the press regarding his sudden sale of his team. He had come to resent his brother-in-law for being the ultimate cause of his hard-earned dream fading to nothing, but Derrick remained distantly supportive of his sister as she raised two young boys alone and was pregnant with a third. It was because of this marred reputation hovering over Leveret's name that Derrick Norden would hesitate to marry or introduce new life into the world.

After a chance encounter during a night out, Hyacinth Rochefort and Derrick Norden, two distant acquaintances in their youth, became briefly romantically involved. While Hyacinth sought an affluent Pureblood family with identical principles to marry into, Derrick had no such interest in marital matters, resulting in their relationship being short-lived. Naturally, things did not go accordingly when Hyacinth announced her pregnancy to Derrick after some silent weeks following their separation. To avoid further scandal attached to his family name and to not have a child out of wedlock, Derrick married Hyacinth in a small, private ceremony consisting of immediate family from both sides. Many were surprised that Derrick married so soon into the relationship, as he had spent years criticizing the idea of marriage, especially after his mother's terrible matchmaking.

After rumors spread regarding the legitimacy of their marriage from members of the ultra-class, both he and Hyacinth played the roles of a deeply in love couple as Derrick reentered English wizarding society. The couple planned to make a return to England so that their child could attend Hogwarts when the time came, just as Derrick had in his youth. With Derrick's wealth from his late career, he had purchased a gothic and secluded manor near the coastal town of Salcombe, Devon, England, along the Kingsbridge Estuary titled 'Praemium Manor.' While they did not engage in much contact inside their home, eventually they began to develop a penchant for hosting their own events to keep up their ruse as Derrick's return evoked some media attention.

On the 15th of September 2011, their daughter would be born in the early hours of the morning. Hyacinth named her Remedy, hoping that her arrival would rekindle their relationship. In some ways, she did; both he and Hyacinth slowly became rather good friends on this new journey of parenthood. While she would stay at home to raise Remedy, Derrick would embark on a new career in the Ministry of Magic, working up the ranks and earning an esteemed position as a Magical Sporting Event Coordinator.

When the Ministry required Derrick to travel, Hyacinth and Remedy would frequently join him. As little Remedy would age from infant to adolescent, a deep fondness for competition would spark the very moment she first witnessed witches and wizards casting hexes and jinxes at one another—or rather, when she was old enough to at least vaguely comprehend the sport. Her devotion to dueling sprouted early in her youth; posters of the current national duelists and her father's memorabilia were planted in every faucet of her room. Her passion would transcend throughout her years to the point she'd practice her technique with a carved stick in a playful form of self-taught martial arts, as she often dreamed of dueling and owning her own team like her father.

Remedy eventually aged out of naive adolescence and matured into a proper, logical, and well-mannered child that replicated the personalities of both her mother and father: poised and smug like Derrick; shrewd and charismatic like Hyacinth. Due to the lack of siblings or child influences in her early development, she has been described as particularly cunning, cold, and calculated in her presentation. She did have a cousin a little over a year older than herself, but Remedy had grown rather ignorant and kept in the dark regarding the history and subliminal tensions between her father and her cousin's parents. For as long as the girl could remember, the Leveret's had always been of enigmatic nature; their namesake was a popular one spoken behind closed doors of her home. Fearing that the dark cloud looming over one Willard Leveret had already engulfed his three boys, her mother, Hyacinth Norden, would restrict Remedy's interactions with her extended family so as not to possibly corrupt her too. Derrick always thought his wife to be dramatic because of this theory, but he took into account her sentiments; therefore, the families would visit only for holidays or in passing at many pureblood events through their shared extensive network of connections cultivated over the years.

Whilst Remedy's tale is still undetermined, the girl has enjoyed a luxurious, solitary, and cushioned life thus far. She took up an array of hobbies such as painting, dancing, self-taught martial arts, and running. Being subjected to competitive dueling from an early age, Remedy grew insatiable for the same glory her father had experienced in his former years. Her approaching journey to Hogwarts was one Remedy had been mentally preparing herself for for as long as the girl could recall. There was little doubt in her mind that she wouldn't be sorted in Slytherin as most Norden's before her had; her relentless ambition, very 'Slytherin-esque' as her mother had described it, pervaded Remedy in every regard. The ravenous girl was so engrossed in achieving her ambition that she only subjected herself to activities that cultivated her skills in some way, to make her father proud. Being perfect was a necessity rather than an aim; the girl aged to become rather unwavering in this pursuit of excellence, and her conviction in blood purity and hunger to prove her superiority made her a force to be reckoned with.

Being an only child, Remedy always found ways to entertain herself when her parents weren’t able. Around this time, Remedy would realize that running was her absolute favorite activity. In order to remain quiet inside the lonely halls of Seyrett Manor, she'd slip on her socks and sprint and stop, relying solely on her inertia to propel her forward. It was a quick fix for boredom, but proved to be quite hazardous if one is not so careful.

At the age of 5, Remedy enjoyed her little game in the confines of the dining hall. It included a spacious open area with a large table in the center, as well as a massive wooden hutch stocked with fine china and heirlooms. Remedy, not erring on the side of caution, would slide into this hutch allowing for many of the china to come cascading down upon Remedy.

Her heart would beat out of her chest and she attempted to shield her face with arms. Instantly, the plates just bounced back just before they landed on her. Remedy was protected from the glassware’s impact by what appeared to be a shield that had formed around Remedy.

The commotion would bring the attention of both parents as well as house elves. The floor was tattered with broken shards of glass, but Remedy would remain perfect unscathed. With a quick ‘reparo’ casted by her mother, all that was once broken was restored yet again. To Remedy’s dismay, neither parents were upset and rather felt intense joy knowing their daughter was indeed a witch after all.

The Beynon family has old ties to seers, some very public- others very hidden. Rhys’ father was the son of a pureblood witch and a muggleborn wizard. It is through his mother’s side that Rhys’ first seer ancestor comes to light. Rhys’ great great grandmother through her father’s mother’s side was a very popular Naming Seer in the 1700s in the UK. One can even find faded pictures of her in older wizarding magazines.

Meanwhile, Rhys’ mother is a muggle, but she is the daughter of a squib who was expelled from a pureblood family. Said pureblood family was known to produce talented Seers who often used the intuition for their own gain. Their Seers had a penchant for accuracy, although the family has not produced any seers for three generations at this point not counting Rhys. As such, her grandfather through her mother’s side would likely not even consider the possibility that the gift had passed to her.

Given it’s been at least two or three generations since a seer has been born in either side of Rhys’ family, the idea that the eleven year old girl could have the gift has not been considered at all. While there are occasional small moments where Rhys’ intuition has proven incredibly accurate, nothing has occurred to hint that the girl has the talent of being a seer. After all, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

As such, Rhys’ relationship with their ability as a seer is nonexistent. The girl simply doesn’t know. Sure, she has moments where she just knows what to do to prevent a cup from falling or how to step to avoid a passing car splashing mud on her, but that hardly screams magic, right?

Rhys has had several instances of intuition playing a role in her life. Perhaps due to her own bullheaded nature, she hasn’t noticed any of them. The most prevalent one was actually when the girl first had her biggest showing of magic as a young child. Her father had given her a toy broom, and her mother refused to let her try it out. Her mother was very protective of Rhys due to her prosthetics, but the girl was furious! She knew she’d be fine, so why was her mother being so mean? Rhys didn’t know how she knew she’d be fine, but the feeling screamed in her tiny four year old head. As a result, her first show of magic occurred in a rather flashy manner as the young seer couldn’t understand why her mother didn’t trust her.

Other instances have been rather mild. Rhys would always know when they had to rush or the best candy at the theater would be sold out. This was written off as a humorous trait of the girl having a ‘sugar sense.’ When she’d play hopscotch on the sidewalk to avoid loose stones that her father tripped over later was marked off as Rhys just noticing things her clumsy father didn’t.

Over all, Rhys is currently a very ignorant seer. Who knows where she’ll end up in a school filled with people who actually know better than her and her silly father?

Character Backstory:
Reducio
Rhys was born in a moderately sized town in Northern Wales. She was born missing her left leg at the hip and her right foot at the ankle due to congenital amputation. However, the girl’s rarely let that slow her down. Aside from acts of clumsiness and the realistic limitations of prosthetics, she’s spent most of her life like any other young witch would. Her father owns a potions shop hidden from muggles in the City Centre through a mural of an old cottage on the wall of a quaint cafe that her mother runs. Her mother is a muggle while her father is wizard born.

Her family life was fairly lovely growing up. While her mother and grandparents were rather overprotective of the girl, her innate sense of curiosity and adventure often led her to go out. At times, this did cause trouble- understandably. There were certainly times her father had to go out and find her crying in a park because she wasn’t used to constantly walking in her prosthetics at the time. Her father was often the one who let her do things her mother wouldn’t let her- including getting her a toy broom at a young age that would lead to her first display of magic.

Rhys’ friend group growing up was rather small. It mostly consisted of a cousin and one or two friends from primary school. Her mother’s protective streak often led to her not being able to go out with friends a lot. However, while Rhys did go out to the park at times despite this, she was perfectly content to help her father in his potions shop. Of course, she was a child so she wasn’t brewing anything. It was also rather hard to understand what exactly her father was doing when brewing, but the bright colorful mixtures and sound of a bubbling cauldron were delightful to the senses.

When she got her owl for Hogwarts, her father was proud. Rhys was excited too. It was going to be a grand adventure, right? Still, there was a small worry and sadness. She’d be unable to go to school with the few muggle friends she had. Despite that, the girl’s excitement was greater in the end, and off she went with a cheerful smile.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
Rhys’ first display of magic happened at the age of four when her father gifted her a toy broom to hover about on. Her mother worried it’d be too dangerous as they didn’t know if Rhys was even magical yet, and in the ensuing tantrum from the young girl, she shattered a window accidentally when the broom was sent rocketing upward. While this display certainly cemented the child as magical, it also certainly made her mother less keen on the girl having a toy broom.

Pearla's lineage is littered with vampires and bloodsuckers. Father, mother, grandfather. Each strived to make a place for them and their family to be happy. This would be Apex for Pearla, so to speak. Allowing for their work to pave the way for her to have a truly happy childhood even without the magical words 'protection' if you could call it that. A bad set of circumstances were dealt to not one but two generations of her family. Even so, Pearla wasn't burdened by the same things her family had been; the 'Vexx' family was able to start on a 'new' foot with Pearla. She was taught that who she was was dangerous if she didn't take care of herself. She has instilled a sense of purpose and pride for being put together since she was small. Her food had been supplemented by her parent's blood and a nasty habit her mother gained, taking extra blood from the Hospital's supplies. She always wanted a little more than what they'd give her, though it was always denied. Pearl wouldn't ever let them say no 'easily', Talking about how much she 'starved' for it. It would sometimes earn her some due to how nervous it made her parents. Making them question if they were feeding her enough blood. Something Pearl learned very early to use when she really did 'feel' like she needed more, or she just wanted the taste a little more potent. I have no issues with eating or indulging myself with blood outside of her 'meals' if given the chance.

She wore hoodies and jackets when going out and almost always wore contact lenses that allowed her eyes to look brilliantly blue. Her missing teeth never really bothered her either; she always claimed baby teeth were lost or that she just came from the dentist. She always tried to trim her nails daily. Keeping them nice and short so they were 'pretty', spending time painting them, and keeping them well managed so they never took on their 'claw' like nature for too long. Pearl always pushed why she couldn't live out with 'normal' people, And she always got the same, rather blunt answer. Explaining she wasn't like them. She wasn't exactly human; it didn't bother her she wasn't one. Instead, it bothered her how the other kids got to play kickball and she didn't. Even when she did try to disobey on rare occasions, the daily sunlight kept her in check with how much 'vampire' she was made up with. Any Nosey neighbors or family visits who asked questions were always met with a rather well-played-out 'medical condition' speech that her parents practiced time and time again to make sure 'no one' could see any lie explaining how her skin was frail and too much exertion would put her in the Hospital. Though this led to her family treating her like a sick puppy, it allowed her to still meet her 'family'. Pearl, if broken down by her past and who she is, is the embodiment of 'if there is a will, there is a way'.

In order to understand how Pearla came into being, we need to start back at her grandfather. Richard was a squib born into a pureblood family who, for lack of a better term, was discarded from the family, disowned, and forced to change their name. In his lost nature, he moved to America and fell into a tough crowd. At his deepest low, he would run into a Vampire, the first of many in Pearla's history. Her name was Mallica, an outwardly kind woman who enjoyed toying with muggles or no-mag's for the sake of entertainment and for their blood. Though Richard was different, She caught her eye and her heart even with everything stacked against them. They fell in love and had a child, a single son without magic but as a Dhampyir. A true oddity within the world of magic, muggles, and secrets. Raised in the shadows, He was never able to attend any schools; society within the vampire circles was brutal outside of it. Impossible. This child, named Dack, would find a way to thrive within the desperate situation they were cast into. Protected till they were of age and released to find their own way.

That is when the lone Dhampire found someone important to him a woman named Daisy. A Muggle, who he hid his dark secret from. However, He loved her beyond a shadow of a doubt. Everything he found himself doing was in pursuit of capturing her heart and carving out a life for the pair in the Land of Dreams, even managing to get legally married through strenuous circumstances and, truthfully, how easy it was to get married in Las Vegas.
With their new life on the horizon, he took her to one of his favorite places for a single visit, one time that he might even brush his two worlds together. This place was not inherently magical, though, with his connections. He knew more 'desperate' vampires sometimes made an appearance. This would prove to be a terrible choice with absolutely dire consequences. His wife caught the eye of a vampire who was staring. With his prey found, her fate was sealed. That night, on their way home. she was attacked and turned, while Dack was off handling paying for their bill.. Though it wasn't done because she'd earned some right to be a vampire, it as a desperate attempt to undo the damage the vampire had done. Bloodless Corpses were never great for the 'secret' of the magical world.

That night marked a turning point as Drack and Daisy struggled with their new set of circumstances. Even so, they strived, working night jobs away from people. Online. Anything that allowed them to get money and stay away from the general life of both magical and non-magical. It was lonely, but they had each other. Enter Pearla, A child born from their times in the dark, their small comforts. However, Pearla's arrival marked the end of another; Daisy would pass in childbirth because of complications and no ability to get help from either world. Leaving Drack to raise Pearl alone. A task he prided himself on for two years before deciding to raise another child in the shadows as he had just wasn't worth it. After a long and stressful internal struggle, He'd made up his mind. Deciding He would gave her over to a brother he had, one whom Richard had outside of this time with Mallica. Their names were Lissa and Jorden. They were completely unaware of magical natures or the monsters they held. He explained to them what she was and how her only shot at a happy life was with them. With downright weeks of convincing them, they would finally crack, and reluctantly accepted when they noticed just how much 'human' was in Pearla, even if there really wasn't much, when she was playing and trying to walk around like a normal human baby.

Pearla would be quietly supplemented blood from a job one of them got at a hospital. Pearla was homeschooled and away from the muggle world, but her world was a happy one. She was gifted all the special treatment from her new parents, even if they were not her own. She was sometimes allowed to make friends in the neighborhood and play with them at dusk if she wore special contacts that made her eyes look blue and grey. She was happy; she was a child the pair weren't able to have. They couldn't be happier, even if she was a little different. Though their little 'runs' for Pearla's blood weren't without their risks, Eventually, around the time she'd turned eight, the Hospital her mother had been working at got suspicious. The Hospital quietly launched an investigation into 'blood theft.' One that Lissa caught wind of and picked up her family the moment she'd heard it.

They are uprooted and heading into a town called Leicester, England. They had decided to hide within the general population and within a town that allowed Pearla a little more freedom. However, this sudden shift wasn't something Pearla understood or really wanted to have happen; her everyday day-to-day life as an 8-year-old seemed to be 'crushed' by losing what little friends she had made in her old home. With a moment of temper that she'd worked herself into, She'd make her parents 'know' she wasn't happy. She picked up a vase they had and threw it on the ground before yelling at the top of her lungs, Causing every candle and light in the house to 'flare' to twice or three times their size. This was her first showing of magic. One that scared her parents more than anything else. Choosing to give her 'whatever' she needed to keep her under control and keep the flairup from happening again. This worked until a Hogwarts professor stopped by on her 11th birthday, explaining that while extremely unprecedented, Pearla was a witch and a Dhampir. Pearla would find a school to accept her at Hogwarts, where she would get help for both her condition and her magic. That her life wouldn't need to be held solely in the shadows, and she might find true friends and a place that wasn't hidden away in the world. While this was partially true, The professor knew the girl had *many* troubles ahead of her.

Born on a chilly evening of the twenty-eighth of March to Lachlan and Elizabeth Forsythe, Noa-Elise came to the world with a life that promised comfort and luxury as she was her parents' dearest person, other than each other.

Her mother, Elizabeth, was a socialite within the pureblood circle some of whom still grasping the belief of blood purity but the former von Thessic witch had a different view. It was something she shared with her beloved Lachlan, a brilliant and pragmatic wizard who's a legislator and used his position to support the equal rights of Squibs, Muggle-borns, and magical creatures that the Von Thessics had deemed beneath them. Their tryst had caused a huge rift between Elizabeth and her parents and one night, the heiress fled their ancestral home from Norwich to the city of Manchester where she finally found her calling as an Obliviator.

Noa had been curious about her maternal family's side as she could pick out any one of her father's; from Great-Uncle Hubert from London, to Cousin Clare from Donegal. There weren't many things written about the Von Thessics apart from the fact that they strictly adhered to the belief that magic should be strictly kept within the wizarding community and that Muggle-borns "dilute" the magic that will be passed on to their descendants. It was a load of rubbish, her parents had said and she agreed wholeheartedly.

She describes herself as a friendly person, not hesitating to talk to everyone she comes across with a smile on her face. One of the things she learned while attending those boring galas was that first impressions are a must and if people see her as a well-behaved and proper young lady, then they will praise her parents. And if people like her parents more, then they will attend the parties with their own kids where she can mingle and find the people she wants to be around. After all, it's awful dull to be all alone in a big house with only Mitzy, their house elf, and the tutors for company.

Six-year-old Noa-Elise frowned as she stared at the rain clouds. It was supposed to be a sunny day with a few puffs of clouds to paint a pretty picture of the sky. She had been waiting all week for this day, a rare proper day off when her parents were home with no parties to plan, meetings to attend, or matters that needed to be attended to. They can go to the park and have a lovely picnic and maybe even coax Mitzy to sneak her an extra helping of jam roly-poly. But then rain had to come and, well, rain on her parade and that won't do!

She puffed her cheeks with displeasure and crossed her arms, a deep frown marring her features. Her mother warned her that scowling would be permanent if she did it frequently and that thought smoothened the expression for a moment before she ran to the library. Noa-Elise was well-read, a line of tutors her parents had hired made sure of that, so she knew that there were spell books with funny words that could surely make the rain go away. She had seen father and mother use their sticks and say those funny words before and their magic will fix everything. Although she doesn't have her stick yet ('Wand' Father told her) she is certain she can at least say the words, she was a "well-educated young lady", said Mrs. Whittlemore. Whatever that means. Browsing through the thick volumes of books and loose leaflets that featured a colourful advertisement of the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, she finally decided to skim through a dozen of materials but all of them were just so boring.

The sound of thunder rumbled outside and it just magnified her already dour mood and with a jolt of frustration and anger, she slapped her hands on the table and gave a loud shout. There was a loud 'POP!' and without warning, the library windows opened widely and a vicious gust of wind came from the storm, causing the chandelier to sway haphazardly above the scared girl. Not knowing what to do, Noa-Elise curled up into a frightened ball underneath the table where her parents and Mitzy would find her. It wasn't until Noa-Elise told them what transpired that her parents looked at each other with understanding and wide smiles on their faces.

"It's no trouble, my love" Mother crooned as she carded a gentle hand on her daughter's long brown hair that cascaded on her back, "You have just experienced your first accidental magic. Soon, you will learn to be a proper witch."

Noa-Elise had always been fascinated with snakes. Though as a pureblood, there was an unspoken rule about not vocally proclaiming your love for something that may be perceived as dark by the majority. While it's true that snakes and other serpentine creatures alike were associated with evil wixen, she can't help but see the beauty of them and she had a special secret that she hadn't told her parents yet, she could understand and talk to them. It was a queer thing that she learned she had back when she was eight.

It started out small, some disjointed words with a noticeable lisp that she would hear by her mother's beloved garden where she would spy something slither by the grass. Then the next day, the birds that usually flock to the bird bath and the toads near the pond have gone, or they will just stay for a few minutes for a few sips of water before fleeing the area. Wanting to get to the bottom of this mystery, Noa-Elise waited for three hours, crouching near the hedge with her knees burning from exhaustion when she saw the cause of all this; a snake.

It was long with a dark green body and a ring of yellow band around its head (Do snakes have necks? she wondered to herself) But when she approached it as slowly as she could, she gasped as the creature began to writhe and then fell limp. Filled with concern, she rushed to the snake and grabbed a stick to cautiously poke at it, not trusting that the little fellow might strike at her out of panic.

'Leave alone' a reedy voice spat out.

Noa-Elise stared at the crumpled heap and looked around, searching for any signs that someone was playing a trick on her. Turning her attention to the limp snake again, she poked the blunt end of the stick on its exposed underbelly and heard a hissing voice again.

'Musssst stay ssstill. Mussst sssurvive'

It was then she heard it, an unmistakable tone of determination she never thought she would hear from a snake. It pulled at her heartstrings so much that without thinking, she threw away the stick and carefully cupped the creature into her small hands, careful not to touch its head. she doesn't know what to do, should he say something? Hiss at it like a snake would?

Taking a deep breath, she opened her mouth and began to talk as she normally would, though she could feel her tongue go behind her front teeth; adding more of the hissing sound as the air pushed through-

"Hello little friend. I won't hurt you"

The snake stilled for a moment before lifting its head towards her. Its eyes stared right into hers, forked tongue peeking out to taste the air around it.

'How doesss thisss one underssstand usss?'

"I... I dunno" she confessed, "I just can. Are you alright? You just fell."

The snake curled itself in the middle of her cupped ads, though its head still leveled to her eyes. 'We do it to live. To fool othersss from attacking ussss'

It does make sense, she hummed to herself. She had read that different snakes have their own defense mechanism to prevent being eaten by other predators and faking death is quite efficient. She was sorely tempted to keep the snake so she could ask it numerous questions her heart desired. Like how it keeps its eyes wet without eyelids, or if unhinging its jaw can hurt, or what if it does things with its molted skin. But she knows she couldn't. If she were the snake, she wouldn't want to be someone's pet; she'd want to be free.

So she just asked the snake where she could put it back and asked if it would come back again. The snake was silent for a while before telling her it must travel on to warmer places before the 'big cold'. No doubt it's near its migration cycle and the snake would want to keep a move on. With a smile on her face, she wished the snake a fond farewell and went back into the house where Mity was busy cleaning the sitting area.

Climbing up to her bedroom, she stopped for a moment to look at the dozens of photographs of her father's family hanging in the hallways. Some of them were out of their portraits to visit other locations, Great Uncle Hubert was snoring away with a bottle of firewhisky in hand while her grandfather Niclas sat on his chair and looked at her with fondness.

"Having an uneventful afternoon dear? You're usually playing in the gardens at this time" he assessed, his dark blue eyes that was a mirror image of her own peered with interest.

Noa-Elise giggled and looked around, seeing if someone was hiding behind the corner to hear the secret she was about to share with her granda-

"Grandfather, I can talk to snakes!" she whispered with excitement.

His usually sleepy eyes widened and his entire body stiffened, "A snake you say? Are you quite sure?"

She nodded, "Yes. I found it wandering through Mother's garden and said it was just passing through so it could prepare for winter. I didn't think I could talk to animals before- oh, does that mean Father can speak to snakes as well? Maybe I can ask him to get a pet for me-"

"Erm, dear heart I don't think you should tell anyone of your gift" he interrupted.

Noa-Elise's smile faded from her lips, browns knitted as she considered his words, "Why not Grandfather? Did I do something bad?"

Fear crept to her chest, she didn't want to get into trouble, she just wanted to know what she was hearing in the gardens, she didn't mean to trouble the snake! The panic that she was feeling must've been so obvious as her grandfather gave a gentle shushing noise,

"Now now, it's alright little dear. You haven't done anything wrong. It's just... people don't appreciate that gift- talking to snakes I mean."

"Why not?"

The old man took a deep breath and leaned on the overstuffed chair he was sitting on, the exact replica of his old chair that's now in Donegal with Cousin Clare, "You see, back in my days, the Dark Lord was known to have that kind of ability. They said people who have that ability are practicing dark magic and were evil"

A gasp exited her lips "But-but I'm not evil! I just wanted to talk to it!"

"I know love, I know" Niclas replied in a patient voice "You're not a bad person, nor does the gift automatically make a person be one. I'm just afraid that if they find out that you have it, they might treat you differently. I would like to ask if you could keep it a secret for the meantime, hmm?"

The child bit her lip, she had never kept a secret from her parent before. Especially if it's as big as this one; but Grandfather said that others might treat her differently if she told. And she definitely doesn't want to lose her friends just because she can talk to snakes. Making her decision, she sadly nodded to the portrait, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.

"I understand Grandfather" she muttered, "I won't do it again"

Niclas studied her for a moment before beckoning her closer to his portrait and gave a small grin, making the crow lines around his eyes more prominent, "Well I didn't say you should stop talking to those little fellows now did I? You can have a chat with them once in a while, snakes can get lonely too y'know?"

Upon realizing his words, a huge grin broke into her face before she enthusiastically nodded and ran to her room. Grabbing her quill and inkpot, she dived under her bed to retrieve her journal which had a lock that was charmed to keep prying eyes away. There, she wrote the words-

"Dear Journal,

I can speak to snakes! Grandfather Niclas said that other witches and wizards see it as an evil thing but I don't think it's really that bad. Snakes are so beautiful and ame amazing and very cool. I met one at the garden earlier today but I forgot to ask its name and where it came from. I hope I can meet with them again"

Wilhelmina was born to quite a wealthy family, both of her parents being successful businessmen in the wizarding world as well as a history of business that ran down the family. This business was often very agricultural, which allowed Wilhelmina to be outside quite a lot and explore the fields her fathers owned. Since they were only child, they tended to try to find alternative ways to entertain themselves. They were always climbing trees, building tiny sheds for birds and bugs, or perhaps making a makeshift arrow. Despite their lack of friends, they weren't exactly bored as a child until they reached the age of eight and became intensely aware of the social groups that surrounded them. They aren't quite sure why and just sought to make the best of themselves. One thing that was always odd was their lack of interest in magic, something that they are expected to be on and on about as someone wizard born. Wilhelmina is always curious about how the muggles do their activities, learning some valuable skills with craftsmanship with this. It isn't until their first instance of magic that they start getting excited over it. Anything school wise? They were always daydreaming in some way shape or form, but they still passed for the most part. With their parents, Wilhelmina never had a really close relationship with them as they were usually busy. They hung around as much as they could and enjoyed their company, but they don't exactly know a whole lot about them. That in itself has never truly bothered them, but as they are in Hogwarts, they wished they were able to spend more time with them.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
Wilhelmina was right about 10 years old with this event. They had just built a new bird house for a group of robins that have been hanging around the fields. They were thrilled when the birds had settled into the house, starting to make their nest. That was until they noticed a hawk start to circle the area. This caused them to panic, starting to make any loud noise they possibly could to startle the hawk and try to shoo them off. When this didn't work, they started to become increasingly angry due to all the hard work they had just put into the house. With their anger, a branch from a nearby tree had practically exploded, successfully scaring off the hawk. They themselves were shocked, gazing at the broken pieces of bark that were on the ground before loudly cheering to themselves, excitedly rushing to go tell their parents back at home.

Your birthdate does not match for a first year. It would have been correct when you registered (the 2022-2023 school year), but is not now (the 2023-2024 school year). Since you have not rped during the last school year, you are allowed to change it to the correct birthdate for a first year. This would be between 1 September 2011 and 30 August 2012.

Parselmouth application:
Reducio
Link to your encyclopedia thread: viewtopic.php?t=29820
Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for Parselmouth
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

They say being a Parselmouth (or a Parseltongue) was eradicated from the dark arts. After all, Salazar Slytherin himself was one. To worsen it the most powerful Dark Lord of all time, Lord Voldemort had this talent too, no one in her family ever imagined that the next heir of the Shakestra family would be blessed with that very ability too

Elisa Shakestra was born into the Ancient family of Shakestra which was known for having the most ambitious and successful Slytherins in it, She herself was the daughter of two stern ministry officials who made sure she would walk in their footsteps too, never did they realize that their little Elisa was born with a ability which her great great grandfather used to have the power of talking to snakes.

Since she was young, Elisa was locked in her Manor after she once tried to go out and explore and mistakenly ended up in Muggle town and was almost kidnapped. The young girl used to mostly spend her time in the library of her house, reading various kinds of books from books needed for her age to even 6th year books. She loved all kinds of books but the main books that used to fascinate her were books related to snakes and histories of parselmouths. One day when her father found her reading a book about Parselmouths, he was quite fascinated with the girl's curiosity about it and told her about her great-great-grandfather who was a parselmouth, but after him, no parselmouth was born in the family. The young girl then started to dive herself more into books about it, she also started to wish she was a parselmouth and could talk to snakes like some of her ancestors, she started believing that snakes were more loyal companions compared to humans and other species. The young girl had once even thrown a huge tantrum in front of her parents for a pet snake but was rejected with a big NO because one of her cousins was bitten by a snake and her parents didn't wish her to face the same fate and they also weren't sure if she could control it from biting others.

It was until Elisas 9th birthday that her parents finally agreed to take her to a garden some miles away from her house, The garden was a beautiful sight for the young girl, It was filled with cute animals from squirrels to baby bunnies, about which Elisa truly didnt care of, she was a little dissapointed that she didn't see any snakes around there, the deeper she walked into the garden somehow a spark of hope started to light in her heart, As she walked deeper into the garden she saw a sight of a scaly tail moving inside a bush. Elisa instantly recognized it as a snake and went near the bush, Over there she heard a small hiss 'Hidee Right nowww, a Humannnnn is approachingggg', the young girl couldn't understand how she was able to understand the snake if no parselmouth has been born in her family since her great-great-grandfather and simply uttered " I won't hurt you", the moment she said that the snake she saw along with some baby snakes came out of the bush, and started hissing again ' A parselllmouthhhh! Howww can we helppp youu dear' , it was then Elisa realized that she had been a parselmouth all her life, she felt a light sense of delight inside her after knowing that her all-time wish had come true " I just wanted to see you , your very beautiful " and yet again she spoke in parselmouth which was later answered by a hiss of the snake ' Thankk youu veryy muchhh , Ifff youuu dont minddd, cann we go backk homeee" for which Elisa nodded her head and let then snake family go , she then went back to where her parents were waiting for her but with a lot of thoughts in her head.

That day Elisa decided to share this incident with her parents, they were shocked to find out about it but later came up with the fact that she was a parselmouth too, a talent which was blessed to each and every member of their family for years before which suddenly stopped passing down on the other generations after the death of Alean Shakestra (Elisa's great great grandfather), It was a proud moment for the Shakestra family as after a long time a Parselmouth was born, Elisa was the only parselmouth in her generation and the family hoped that soon the talent will again start being passed down to all members of the family, all of Elisa's relatives sent her their blessings and started motivating her to learn about it. After this Elisa felt more fascinated than ever to learn all about snakes and help herself improve her Parselmouth. She started to visit the garden more often and talk to the snakes, who shared a lot of interesting facts with her and became her all-time best friends. She kept on increasing her knowledge about snakes and Parselmouths until she finally got her Hogwarts Acceptance Letter and finally decided to take a break from it and make herself ready for the upcoming adventures and knowledge she would receive in her new school.

- There are some inconsistencies with your Parseltongue application. You stated that she has no idea of this skill or what it was, but yet the father has it. Wouldn't it have been shared, especially in a Pureblood home that seems prideful of their ancestry?
- There is a department in the ministry that handles obliviating the memories of muggles. The parents would not be able to do this. Please remove this and change it to the ministry doing the work.
- It seems that your character's date of birth on your profile is wrong. It should be 2011 in order to be a first year in Hogwarts.

Character Backstory: Everyone in my family on both sides has been witches and wizards since the dawn of time, making me a pureblood witch. My mom's side of the family is from Italy, and my dad's side is from England. We've lived in secluded sections of Italy and London throughout my life until I got my Hogwarts letter at the age of eleven. From birth to the age of 8 my parents and I lived in Italy with my mom's side of the family. When I turned 8, my parents and I moved to London, England near my father's side of the family. Shortly after moving to London, my mother gave birth to my baby brother, Callum. I was never truly close to my family in Italy, something always seemed off. However, my family in London and I are extremely close. My friends are all pureblood witches and wizards like myself! We like to meet up when we can to read, play outside in the fresh air, talk about anything and everything, and just catch up seeing as we all live far apart. My home life is very calm, warm, and loving. My mother is a bit overprotective but I was her first child, her first little baby. Father on the other hand is laid back and lets me get away with anything. Family and friends are always coming in and out of the house.

First Instance of Magic: My first instance of magic was right before my eleventh birthday. I was having a bad day so a friend of mine came over to cheer me up. Though the day kept getting worse and worse until...my anger tipped over in the home library. Sending books and objects flying in every direction. My mom came racing in to stop the chaos and helped me calm down.

On a basic day, when he is 7, at Ireland muggle school, the boy had to put glue on teacher’s chair. Suddenly, this teacher entered in the classroom and the little boy risked to be caught on this act. Despaired, he jumped to hide himself under a desk, but he landed strangely outside of the classroom, were he could run and go far away. He was very surprised by his wonderful leap, but very relieved to not have a punishing. After, Alex said it to his family and his friends, but, obviously, they don’t believe on it.
