That's what I tried to do with my old character when she got boring but I couldn't think of anything cause she was genuinely bland, so I just moved. However, learning from my mistake with my other character, I purposefully made Vi in a way that she'd have enough character development throughout the years. I have the girl's entire seven years here planned out. (Also a bunch of prewritten solos and thread ideas for her development. I am very prepared.)

My former character is a second year so i think Lili would have to be moved up a year?

Your Durmstrang character is still in the same year as you. They just start a year early. So their second year is our first year, third is second, etc.
