That's all part of the adventure! Like you, Lily, I never expected Colin to experience these feelings. At least not this early in his life. Maybe 14 or 15. But 11!? Oh my goodness! And like you Keith, I just shake my head knowing that Colin is going to be a multicrusher! Dunno if he'll ever develop a crush on a boy or not --- or if some boy will ever crush on him!, but it's the girls I'm most worried about.

That boy is going to need a very strong girl to keep him in line!

Keep your mind in hell; and don't despair.

Mind you, I totally get what you're saying, and actually tend to agree. Let all these poor 11 and 12 year olds be kids! If a crush is part of that, then all well and good, but don't put your character through it if it's not part of his story.

When I look at Colin, it's 100% part of his story. Boy's got too much love and too big a heart. If didn't crush on Clair (or to put it in his words, express his undying and immortal love for the other half of his heart!) he'd explode.

OOC I'm under no illusion that he and Clair must get married (right now, he's staring at me saying of course I'm going to marry Clair! What kind of nonsense are you on about?); it could all come flying apart; they could evolve in different directions. I know they'll end up becoming good mates and, yeah, it is my hope they end up courting! They could end up breaking up and finding each other again after a whole string of heartbreaks.

Or, just perhaps, they'll be the faerie tale couple who literally did look in each other's eyes and knew they were meant to be together forever amen!

The only thing I'd suggest --- to anyone who's thinking along these lines --- is seriously talk about it with your writing partner. Whether it all works out or whether it devolves into disaster, it'll be much more fun when you've got someone to work on it together with!

Well written Colin! I myself am debating about my current relationship with Lazarus. I mean I remember what feels like a million years ago thinking I had a crush on someone, and then a few years later actually realising that that wasn't a crush, it was a nothing!

It's like what @Rebecca Loops said earlier, "ahh you held my hand once so now I am in love". I'm trying to decide on what to do there. I mean Taisia really reflects on me as an eleven year old so at the moment I am debating whether I want her and Lazarus to stay together with a big break up in 5th or 6th year. But I'm also wondering if maybe it is just puppy love for her- just a silly thing between two tweens. Because I don't know, I feel like a Ravenclaw isn't going to be THE love of her life, or her soulmate. I think she belongs more to a Gryffindor or Slytherin.

I agree with this. I've also been thinking about Rani and Beatrice a lot since I don't think I want a Realationship for Beatrice at such a young age. I'd rather for them to just stay friends and see what comes with that. Since Beatrice also comes from a broken home, someone will also have to teach her what actual love means and that can't be reached at eleven years old - she might get into a serious relationship with someone in her fifth year or sixt year but for now I just want Beatrice to be a kid and find herself and get some good, close friends. - Also owled Rani about this today because y'all made me think about it a lot more. I was having concerns before, but wasn't fully sure how to deal with it yet or on what to decide. So thanks, I guess xD

Maybe it’s because I don’t know how portray a younger character, maybe I’m a romantic at heart, maybe Simon is an old soul who craves love and family. Honestly, having him in a committed relationship this early just seems right for him though and AngelFyre is the perfect person for it.

We will see where things take them but I could see him wanting to get married at 18 and her 17 (which is the legal age for wizards)

I think Edward's love life is going to be one heck of a rollercoaster! I am actually working on his first girlfriend, Hannah Blossom. Though its not going to be serious, its going to be more like being best friends. Though later in years maybe a serious relationship, I feel as if Edward will get his heart broken a lot.

Beatrice will be there for him to catch Edward if he falls (or like in other words, be there for him if he gets his heart broken).

Whileeeee she will break other boys hearts 'cause I'm planning for her to have a flirty phase mixed within a rebel phase xD
