I. The Martial Artist
Maila has always been good at fighting. She isn't afraid to get physical although she mostly prefers her fights verbally, proving her wit and smartness. When Maila was at an age that she was able to walk, her Mother send her to Fencing lessons but not only that. Maila also learned Boxing and took Jiu Jitsu lessons throughout the years. She picked up the skills fast and won many competitions with her skills in fighting. She can place a punch anywhere she wants and most certainly hits that place she is trying to hit. She is strong for a 12 year old and her kicks have send down her brother a couple of times even tho he would obviously never admit that. Since Maila has done these sports her whole childhood, she remembers every move in her sleep and could easily manipulate someone into thinking that she didn't have a chance against them although that isn't true. It's the opposite. Maila Aurora Laine could send most people to sleep with a simple punch in the right place. However, she does not consider herself a violent person. She can do all this but why would she ever hurt someone for no reason? Of course she could lock any of her opponents in a choke hold but what good would this bring to her? None unless they try to hit her first.
She is not scared to defend those she loves whether it is physical or verbally. Although Maila would never admit it, she wouldn't waste a second to punch someone if they said something about her mother or twin brother. She often told herself that she was not a person that would just start going at someone, which was true to certain measures but she was surely no lady or one of those petite purebloded girls that think they are entitled to better treatment then others and let others do all of their work. To say it simple, she wasn't scared to get her hands dirty, whether it was with mud or someone elses blood. However, by all means, Maila could never be described as aggressive. She is one of the most kindest and gentle souls out there, just simply be beware that she does not back away from a threat.
Since Maila has been raised like a muggle and often feels like a muggle, fighting like this is a natural instict for her. Maila often does not feel like using a wand since she grew up being told that hard work gets done with your hands and mind not with just flicking a finger and everything magically solves itself somehow.

II. Evasive Maneuvers
Having a Twin Brother has always meant looking out for possible threats and surprise attacks. A pillow getting thrown at her while simply enjoying a bowl of cereal, knocking the contents of the bowl all over Maila had not happened just one time. Olli would tackle her with all his might if she did something he did not enjoy or he would burst out of a corner just to point his drum sticks at her and yell "Attack!" None of this was fun and none of this happened little enough for Maila to just ignore it. Over time, the curly haired girl would start to become more and more aware of her surroundings. She would always listen with one ear, see anyone coming from the corner of her eye and even wip her head around to catch her attackers right then and there as if she had eyes in the back of her head. She would evaise wodden spoons that flew into her direction, jump out of the way just in time for Olli to yeet himself into the lake without pulling her with him.
Of course it was not only her annoyingly energetic brother that she had to avoid. She would step out of the way just in time to let a birds excrements miss her by a couple millimeters. Maila would dodge just in time before a branch could hit her in the face while galloping through the woods with Theodore, she would block her opponents attack right before they could hit her and she stepped out of the way just before her partner could out her with their sabre while Fencing. There was no denying in the fact that Maila had gotten insanely good at avoiding, dodging and ducking away. She was out of the way every time someone thought they would hit her. Maila found that it would almost become like Spiderman's sense of danger. She could almost feel a tingling sensation inside her chest whenever danger was near and one could always count on it, that Maila would squirt out of the way of danger, possibly even dragging you with her into safety. Unless you were her attacker of course. Being a big Marvel fan, which had possibly come from her Mother's obsession with the superheroes, Maila sometimes secretly thought that this was her superpower. Evading her enemies not only in her dreams but in real life as well. After all these years, she now knows that this "power" is actually quite normal and just a higher sense of danger. Most of the time she attacks back now, leaving her own attackers wondering how she even evaded their attack and surprised that she attacked back.

III. Charmer

What was one thing that most people wished to be in their lifetime? What was it, that brought you further in places like work, school or just when making friends? It was, to be liked. Or at least that was what Maila thought. The young Finnish girl had always wished to be liked and usually, she did not have any trouble achieving that.
Now, one might wonder where that came from. Perhaps it was just in her nature. Maila was a charming girl, bubbly and positive almost every day and sweet as caramel. But as we all know, Caramel often sticks to the teeth. It becomes too much. And that was something the curly haired girl did not want to be. Not many knew, but Mailas father leaving her, their Mother and her twin brother before she was even born, still hurt her. She thought about it often and she was more than worried that she had something to do with him leaving. Of course she did, he left because he didn’t want them. He didn’t want her. That was what kept her up at night and what brought abandonment issues into her life. How could she not try to be charming and likable, when only existing had been enough for her father to leave them? It was not just the way her Mother raised them to be, that created this kindness and charisma in Maila. It was also the factor of being scared that more people will leave her. She wished to be liked instead of left. She started working on her charm at a young age and soon, she had mastered it perfectly. Lying was not a problem anymore, she would burry her words in subtle compliments and had her target wrapped around her finger in a minute. She would charm her way out of being the one to mow the lawn (because it was what she hated most out of housework) and she would charm the baker to give them just a couple free bread rolls more, when they were tight on money. It always felt good to her, to be able to do that. To make friends without any issues, to achieve something with the way she acted and to be liked by someone. Being charming and kind became somewhat of a security blanket for her. A safe way to meet people and to never be left. So it also became a constant act. It integrated into her and created a new Maila. A bubbly, open, not - too - much, likable and friendly girl, that was liked. She never dared to drop her charm because it worked and it was easy. Easy as sleeping, easy as walking. It was as easy, as he had left them.
