I cannot speak for the Daily Prophet as that is fully Lear's thing, but the Headliner may actually be considering ways to increase site involvement by reviving scrapped projects. Since the turnover from Alexx to myself, we are in the middle of some schedule changes, so I cannot promise you will see the change immediately or even soon. But we hear you and it has been put on the table for the future.

Something... Different
Imagine- having an adult led organization, that is OOC, and that would consist of the following- as well as what they would do:
1) The Authors
------------where a adult may lead a library book spree where we can have IC books to read- perhaps have textbooks written-
2) Plot Crew
------------decides some of the big things that occur at Hogwarts (students that decide the monthly prize ooc)
3) The Assistants
------------a assistant teacher role to help grade or to provide assistance on homework- like a uh- well- an AT.
4) Backstory Checkers
------------NOT to take over INDEX, but to provide assistance to Index and to help new users out onsite.
------------
------------
------------
ISSUES:
Reducio1) All three would require a new role to take it's place as the official club leader... perhaps call them... Educational Club leaders... and yes, they'd be paid... perhaps 5 sickles a day- or however much professors get.
2) Prob don't make much sense canonwise, but it'd give us something to do for fun-
3) Discord isn't mandated, but it's suggested for plot and library- not so much for the AT job. And I understand many wouldn't have discord. hence why it would be here.
4) It wouldn't be beneficial to character development seeing as it is an OOC thing.
5) You would have to cap your club at some point- not everyone can be a member of staff. Like for AT's, they'd be 2 per class... authors to help look over the library, write some books...but not everyone can do it- perhaps have it cap at 10...for the Backstory checkers- I'd say that we would need maybe 3- to not overwhelm people... and for plot- around 6-12 people.
6) Application to join would be extensive, as it *is* a staff role- but only OOC, not like every other roles on here. PROS:
Reducio1) Less work on staff, with the work being spread out.
2) It would be something new, something refreshing, something intriguing... good for HiO.
3) It could be a way to improve your creativity OOC
4) It's a OOC thing, and not IC...
5) The AT could grade for the professor, and you can have up to two AT per class, OOC, giving them access to grade that class's assignments only, and not the others, and they'd be one of three people to ask for help with Homework (1 AT, 2 AT, Professor)
6) The Authors would be working on books to have IC- for your IC characters to read, but the books would be written OOC, and the books would be written under a pen name, and not your character's name because it doesn't make too much sense IC.
7) Plot crew would be designing the monthly thread, for the winners, but not as main story, unless it was reopened, instead the plot crew would perhaps make a thread monthly celebrating the winners... but with a twist, and they could help come up with plots onsite.
We would experience and incorporate more people!
9) Backstory Checkers would be very useful, to provide positive feedback as well as assistance to those who need help, not to take over the job of Index of course! But to make the Index job go a lot smoother.
MAJOR CON:
Reducio1) You would need to have a longer application for these, since it's all a staff job, even if yer not applying to be in charge of the Official Clubs. Now, seeing the pros, the cons, and the major con... I would like to reilliterate my point as straightforward as I can.
I would love to see a OOC club that is run by members OOC, for a good experience overall. If you would like more of an explanation, feel free to Owl me, or to DM me at Dorkasaurus#0778
Thank you all so much for reading over this. I hope you consider adding this to the site!

Hey Cody, we actually already have staff teams covering most of these roles. Assistants also already exist, such as Kit Paine and Kelsey Brumby, who have IC roles but also help professors grade. This might be a lot of work for staff but I wanna second what Leeds said
I think it would be really cool to have a 'training' system where you could earn extra stat points and a few more spells. I would like draven to become a really powerful wizard, but given the way the system works right now, I can only do so much (with perfectionist, spell spread, and the such).
I would love an opportunity to 'train' him and learn spells that aren't offered on graduation / in homework assignments. It would be a lot of work to figure out a way to balance this, but it could also be really really cool and will put the spotlight on effort based things (much like the prizes earned from homework)

A little late but to answer this, it's unlikely that we will extend posting deadlines. Reason: Duels last a lot longer than Quidditch and Broomracing matches do, due to the fact that the ending criterion before this stage was knocking out your opponents, so if people dump stat points in Stamina and Evasion (which has been a recent trend), duels just go longer and longer. There is actually still a duel from the first stage ongoing, and another one ended very recently.Lindsey Springhall wrote: 14 Feb 2022, 09:092) Lengthen the duelling posting extension to 5 days. Both Quidditch and Broom Racing have 5 days for players to post until deadline, but duelling only has 4, and one more day does matter as no matter how it can cover one weekend day or at least a Friday night (like the mod’s up on Monday morning, and the deadline will be until Saturday morning so a Friday night is covered). I am aware that some players are more active during the weekdays, but similarly some are extremely busy in RL those days. So, I suggest lengthen the extension of duelling to 5 days/120 hours instead of 4 days/96 hours. I do understand the fact that a duel usually lasts more rounds and it actually requires less time to come up with a strategy since there are less players involved in a game, but I still want to bring this up since an extra day can really do a difference and nobody wants to have their planned action void.
That's the reason we introduced the 12 round limit for this stage, which was done with clear calculations in mind. We need breaks between stages to avoid both mods and duellists burning out. If we now extend the posting deadlines, we will end up having the same issues as before, unless we set the round limit even lower, which then shifts even more power to high Stamina builds. Giving another day may not sound very much, but remember that it's one day per round, so an additional 2 weeks to each duel.
So unless we introduce some major system overhaul to make decreasing the rounds per duel feasible, extending the posting deadlines would be detrimental to the system. That's not to say it won't happen, but it wouldn't be an easy or fast undertaking.
I do understand that 96 hours is not a lot of time. That is the reason that Sports posts only require 50 words rather than the usual 200, which corresponds to 2-3 sentences usually. Perhaps if you know that you will likely be busy before the next deadline, you could pre-write your posts when you have time and just slightly tweak them before you post, which can be done in a minute or two.
