Bubba didn't dare look behind him. He was pretty sure the Balor was still after him and he was definitely still bleeding. He could only hope that the rest of the teammates were profiting off his misfortune because if he ran much further he was pretty sure he'd be back at the race's starting line. Serena frowned slightly, as she failed to send a spell flying at her opponent. The fact that she was going top speed and the quick swerving of her broom made everything so much harder and that was evident in the fact that she had failed to hit her opponent. Over the years, she had become a more confident spellcaster. She knew these spells, it wasn't her this time. At the very least, she had grown in her confidence when it came to spellcasting and her ability to fly the broom - even if she had doubts about everything else.

Steadying her control over her broom and dismissing the mistake, she lowered her wand again and focused on the race, dodging the incoming obstacles where she could. The badger hissed a little as she hit one of the tree branches, scrapping her leg against it as she flew. Exhaling audibly through the pain, she tried to focus.

The fact that they’re not winning right now is ridiculous. What went wrong? Did the birds lose their ability to fly all of the sudden? Maybe they just need to practice more. The badgers were clearly more experienced, at least some of them. They were fast and furious, or was it the boggart that made the not so fearless birds not winning right now? The match hasn’t ended yet. There’s still hope. Not much, but as long as the possibility isn’t at zero, it’s something.
