The boy's covered eyes widened his brows raising up as a panicked look crossed his facial features. It took him far too long to realize that he had been blindfolded. Drew kept speeding forward, into the trees, just as a burst of green sparks hit his face. His grip tightened on the broom with one hand while the other flew up to his face instinctively. He squinted, his vision spotty from the blinding light. Then, he spotted the green creature on the tree right before he ran into it. His shoulder burned from where he had touched the creature- he probably should have paid more attention in that class. He continued speeding ahead, finding himself pulling ahead. There was a waterfall up ahead! Drew leaned down to his broom, flying through the water like a bullet.

He let out a deep breath, instant relief as the acid was washed away by the water. His clothes were a little burned, and he was a little worse for wear, but overall still intact, so Drew wasn't complaining. He pulled ahead of the crowd, letting his broom shoot forward into the fog.

Drew is very obnoxiously strong. Like, I'm serious, this guy is strong. Not only does he have genetics from his father that make him stronger than the average person, but his father is almost obbsessive over being fit, and he works out at a nearby gym ever since he found out about it the "awesome muggle fitness place."
Drew, ever since he was really little, maybe five or six, sometimes went with him. At least once a month, Drew would follow his dad, and try to do everything his dad did. If his dad was lifting weights, Drew lifted weights, though they weren't as heavy as his dad's at first. If his dad was on a treadmill, Drew wanted to be on a treadmill, though his wasn't quite as fast. If his dad was doing crunches, Drew was doing crunches (or trying). As he grew older, Drew got stronger and stronger, and he began to catch up with his dad, though he might not ever be as strong as his dad.
So, for around seven years now, Drew has been going with his dad to the gym, twice to three times a month, and he is getting way better at it. He comes home sore but is always stronger the next time, and he enjoys the bonding time with his father. And every time, the nice lady at the desk named Janet gives him a lollipop, which he appreciates.
To only add to that, Drew is interested in sports. Not just Quidditch, but he does football and, in the summer, swim team. Every season, he does really well and has placed in the top three several times. Swimmers and football players are also famed for getting way stronger from doing the sport.
This has resulted in him having muscles, bigger than others but not, like, absolutely ripped biceps. He is taller than others, at 5'7". This has attracted many girls. Not only is his personality desirable, but since he is obnoxiously strong, he is not too shabby on the outside, either. Girls have asked him to date them, and once, even demanded him to date them. He has had a couple crushes, but hasn't thought to act on them quite yet.
So Drew has always been strong, stronger than most. Rose often asks him to open her bottles when the caps are on too tightly, as well as his friends at school. He could always open that door at school that got stuck all the time, and helped his team to victory in almost every tug-of-war.

Drew is, and always has been, the definition of confident. He is not fazed by any insults, though he will no doubt defend himself. He is not fazed by any sort of uncomfortable hanging in the air, or looking weird in front of other people. He takes risks, and is often reckless in his confidence- it has cost him sometimes, though, once he decided it would be fun to jump across a creek in the woods in his backyard, and slipped into the creek, coming out soaked and sporting a fractured hand. To only add to his recklessness, Drew's mother and father never discouraged him against taking a leap of faith, always encouraged him to take risks and be reckless- to find his own way in the world. To not be scared of anything, because that would restrict him from being who he wanted to be, and what he wanted to do, sometimes what he needed to do. If he was ever scared of doing something, they would encourage him (or sometimes force him) to do it anyway.
He went to muggle schools until he was accepted into Ilvermorny and tried out for the football team, and got in. He made reckless but amazing plays, and often got himself benched or doing penalties for trying something.
His grades might not have been the best in the class because of this, because he often simply didn't care if he didn't have good grades- it just wasn't important to him.
Drew was the kind of guy in class that would give an opinion writing on that subject, that touchy subject. He was the kind of guy that when guys who were older and bigger than him, approached his friends, or even innocent victims, he was not afraid to punch first. He was the kind of guy who would encourage his friends to do something fun but reckless, that guy who would sit with who he felt like, that guy who was not intimidated by teachers. He was the kind of guy who would approach that one kid everyone was scared of and ask them how their day was going, that one guy that then introduced said kid to his many friends. He was the kind of guy who stood up to people being bullied, not really caring if he was bullied himself. He was known at school for being that kind of guy, as well as the guy you could approach about just about anything. Drew was the kind of guy that was not scared of anything... you could call him fearless.

You are just distracting. Distracting to look at perhaps. Maybe it is your wit or your charm, your grace or something else about you that is intangible but absolutely present.

Prerequisites: None

Restriction: Cannot be taken by Dhampirs, Werewolves, Calming Presence or with the ability Terrible Presence.

Effect: -1 accuracy to all of your opponents (as defined at the start of the instance regardless of later betrayal). This ability does not stack.
In Dueling:
• All players that play against a player with Charmer will suffer –1 Accuracy in their Accuracy vs Evasion rolls.
• If there is more than one Charmer on the team, the effect is not stacked (Max: –1).

Andrew Lycan is almost never caught in public without a grin on his face, and won't let people see him down. He seems to have the right thing to say to make you feel better about yourself, and jokes at his own expense and for others' gain. He is humorous and almost always seems to be joking around with others, and appreciates a good laugh. Even when he is embarrassed, which is quite inevitable when you're a teenage boy, he's smooth about it, like it doesn't really bother him that much. He has always had some kind of way to be smooth about the things he does, like they're easy. He sees life in a very simple way. He seems to always be upbeat about things and be optimistic about the future.

Everything he does makes you want to like him, even if you don't want to. The way he smiles at you, the way he talks to you, the jokes he makes and the way that he handles things. The way that he treats others and gives compliments, and the way that he acts in general. He is an upbeat and funny person, and he really seems to care about others and like the people he's with. It's just impossible to not like him. He's just easy to be friends with, and easy to be around, even if other people aren't.

As long as Drew or his parents can remember, the guy has been polite to others, and has a lot of friends. He always had people to hang out with at school and plenty of events to go to. He wasn't the overly-obnoxious kind of popular, but somebody that felt approachable to most people. He is still that way today. He has plenty of people that he knows, and finds it easy to make friends with people, whether he's sitting next to them in class, eating dinner next to them, or if he finds them a naturally interesting person that he wants to get to know better. He finds it easy to approach somebody and ask them about themselves and be friends with them.

It doesn't make him any less easy to like him with the fact that he isn't too bad on the eyes, either.

Drew is a gentleman, he's a little bit flirty, he's a little bit clever, and he's a very funny person. Overall, he's just... charming.

Fourth Year Ability- Paragon of Health

Paragon of Health:

You always keep an eye on your allies. Whenever you check in with your party you make sure to tend to their minor wounds and diseases. Causing your very presence to boost your allies’ resolve be it passively by a sort of aura (flavor) or by actual physical assistance (alternative flavor).

Prerequisite: None

Effects: Up to two allies (which must be defined at the start of the thread/upon entry) gain +10% temporary health points calculated from your stamina (not the person who used their ability on you). Temporary meaning for the duration of this thread. Also, any effects that are based on a percent of your health (such as an attack that does 10% of your maximum health) would be based on your natural maximum health score. Temporary hit points cannot be healed, so if you had 500 hit points and gained another 50 from your ally's Paragon of Health, your total becomes 550. If you take 100 damage from an attack, your health total is 450. If you friend heals you for a total of 100, your health will only rise to 500 (your natural health cap). You may not consider yourself to be an ally. This cannot stack.

Even from a young age, Drew has put others above himself. He stood up for people on the playground even if he knew he was going to be criticized for it. He shook things off if they bothered him and checked on those around him to see if they were okay. He spent time with others so that they wouldn’t be alone or left out, even if other people saw them as weird and didn’t think they were worth hanging out with. Even if it was just a little thing that nobody saw and barely anyone cared about, he was always willing to do anything to help others or make their day. It is very important to Drew that the people around him are taken care of and that they aren’t hurt.

Drew has always been extremely aware of those around him and those he cares about. If people he cares about are hurting or in need of something, he finds it his responsibility to make them feel better or they’re okay. He prioritizes other people above himself, knowing that he will be able to find a way to recover, but also knowing that he won't be able to stop being guilty if there was something he could have or should have done to help a person that he didn't.

Sometimes this can be negative, as sometimes he is a little overprotective of people, keeping a careful watch on them when there might be some danger. Some might call this behavior selfless, but maybe it's the opposite. Maybe it comes from a place of selfishness in himself. Maybe it’s because he knows that he can’t lose that person. Either way, it all stems from his character- he would rather himself get hurt and others are safe than ever see somebody he cares about get hurt.

As a result of this, there can be a kind of feeling when you’re around Drew. Some might call it an aura. It's like you know you’re going to be taken care of and protected if anything happens. Like you just know that if something happened, Drew would help out. He always has an eye out for the people he cares about, checking constantly to see if there’s anything he can do, and he always is willing to help. This can bolster people's confidence sometimes and help them to find more strength in themselves than they would normally.

You have either come upon some big money and acquired a very particular wand or you have been gifted a wand, perhaps from a distant family member. You have a new wand, one that truly has chosen you. Or perhaps the wand that you first came across in Ollivander's has bonded with you deeply. Regardless of the reasoning, the link that you have with your wand is much stronger than that of a typical wizard.

Restriction: None

Effect: You get a new wand, this will be updated on your profile by an administrator (please contact a Head of House or the Headmaster once this ability has been approved) one and only one time with this ability. You cannot purchase this ability more than once and get multiple wands or derive the beneficial effect of more than one wand.

Wood Flavor/Effects:

Flavor: Users of this wand when casting spells tend to instill less terror and more trust in their allies that right will be done by them. Enemies do not share this sentiment.

Flavor: When their owner is passionate about something, the spells that successfully go off tend to be more dramatic. There is often audible explosions, brighter lights, whooshing sound effects. This is an example of this core's characteristic flamboyance.

• Dragon Like Power: +3 to arcane power when casting spells with this wand.
• Accident Prone: 5% chance that the intended spell will rebound on the caster. Non-targeted spells such as counters, healing, and some utility spells that have no target or are self-targeting cannot rebound. This is not prevented by the Perfectionist ability.

Ever since his parents had been taken to Azkaban, Drew was determined to prove their innocence. His father worked for law enforcement, for goodness' sake- how could he do something so horrible to end up in Azkaban?

The only helpful thing that he was able to find was his father's journal, which he felt guilty reading. Thankfully, and helping him feel less guilty, it rarely had emotional entries- most were related to his job, or projects, or notes he jotted down. But in reading the many entries of the journal, he had just gotten to a part where his father mentioned "the box." According to the entries, the box was a gift from Drew's grandfather- his mother's father. It was long, narrow, and black, with golden accents and no information on how to open it.

Drew found this box intriguing, and scanned the journal for any mentions of it. Even if it didn't have anything to do with the search for his parents, it was interesting nevertheless.

Spell after spell, through all his father's research, and even potions on occasion, Alexander Lycan could not find out how to open the box.

Drew sat back in his seat. The box had to be in here somewhere. He put the journal down on the desk, and with the description in mind, started looking in all the drawers of his father's desk. He tried to leave everything where he found it, but if his father ever sat in this desk again, he would definitely know that Drew had gone through it- the blonde was not a careful or dainty type.

And then, he found it. It had to be the same box- it fit the description perfectly. A black wooden box with golden accents, long and narrow. Drew placed it on the desk, looking at it.

He squinted at the box. "What are you?" he asked.

Then, the box opened, the top half peeling back as if on hinges.

"That's your grandfather's wand," he heard a voice say.

Drew jumped, turning in his chair to see his grandmother. His relationship with his grandmother was slightly tense ever since she had kept from him that his parents were in Azkaban, but he refused to dwell on it too much, especially since he was so engrossed in his search for his parents. "What?" he asked.

She entered the room, standing next to him as they both looked at the box. She was right- a wand lay within the box. "It used to be your grandfather's. It was in his will to your father after he died, but Alexander could never figure out how to open it. How did you do it?" she asked, in awe.

"I... I didn't. I just found it and put it down."

"English Oak and Romanian Longhorn Dragon Heartstring," Lucianna said. "Twelve inches, and flexible. He had it personally made for him. English Oak favors the strong, loyal and courageous. It chooses casters with intuition and an affinity with creatures and plants. It must have chosen... you."

The wand did chose him. He picked it up, analyzing it.

English Oak favored the strong, brave, and loyal. Drew was strong, not only physically, but in his emotional capacity. He always stood up for a friend, even if it got him in trouble. Even his first instance of magic was protecting a friend from a bully. He was brave, almost to a fault, often diving headfirst into things, even when they were dangerous. (There were numerous times when broom racing that he probably should have slowed down to get past an obstacle, but was convinced he could get through. It probably wasn't the best idea at the time, but it definitely proved his bravery.) And though he never was the best at school, Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures were two of his favorite classes. He always thought it was because they were more hands-on classes than lecture classes, but now that he thought about it, he probably did have an affinity for the natural world. Not to mention his bond with his dog, Buddy.

As for Dragon Heartstring, which favored powerful wizards, Drew supposed this suited him much more than any other wand core. Unicorn Tail Hair wands were consistent, and Phoenix Feather wands produced a variety of spells, but Dragon Heartstring focused more on power. Drew, always more prone to large and impressive spells rather than complicated and specific ones, he cared much more about power than variety or consistency. That may have also been why he chose broom racing rather than dueling or Quidditch- dueling took too much variety of spells and consistency, and Quidditch had too many rules. He would much rather just get on a broom and use his strength and power. Romanian Longhorns were bold and stubborn, and those traits were reflected in Drew. Like his search for his parents, he refused to give up on anything he put his mind to, even if it meant doing horrendous things like researching.

It was longer for a wand, though not an absurd length. This also was appropriate for Drew- shorter wands favored the refined, and longer wands preferred the flamboyant and dramatic. Loving to joke around with his friends, over-exaggerating most situations for humor, and enjoying flamboyant shows of arcane power and strength, a longer wand made more sense for Drew. Perhaps more length held more power, as opposed to more concentrated power, or perhaps this was just one of the mysterious qualities of wands, but it felt good as he turned it over in his hand. The length made it the perfect length in his hand- as he held it, the balance point was perfect.

Though it didn't bend in his hand, it wasn't solid either- he would describe it as flexible. Drew tried to be a friendly and open-minded person, never wanting to be so set in his ways that he missed out or was seen as cruel, but he could also be quite stubborn when it came to things that he was determined about. So he supposed even the nature of flexibility of the wood suited him- not too bendy to be a doormat, not too rigid to never admit he was wrong.

"Well? Give it a swish," Drew's grandmother encouraged.

Drew glanced to her, and then back to the wand. "Maybe you should stand back a little?"

She did step back, though she didn't look scared in the slightest. Seeing as the wand had already seemed to have chosen him by allowing the enchanted box to open, she must have doubted that anything crazy would have happened by testing the wand out.

He gave it a swish, and the entire room seemed to light up from the wand, making a low humming sound. He even felt his feet lifting off the ground slightly. As the wand's reaction died down, he turned to his grandmother. "I suppose that means it did choose me. But... why didn't it open itself to my father? He's strong, and brave, and loyal, and everything you said."

His grandmother shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not sure. But as a very wise wizard once said, the wand chooses the wizard. You may keep it, if you like. Just be careful- it is quite powerful, and you may have bigger results than you originally hope for."

Drew nodded. "Thank you," he said, sitting back down in the office chair of his father, and admiring his new wand.

She weighs around 8 pounds (3.6 kilos).
4. Distinctive Marking: One of Rose's most striking features in her human form are her bright green eyes. This is reflected in her cat form. Also, the ginger patches in her calico coat are the same shade as her hair in her human form.

I didn't think her claws would be big enough for claws 2, so I stuck with just claws.

XXXOh, damn it. Fedya had raised his wand, aimed at his nearest opponent, and … missed. Well, perhaps less missed, more been unfortunately tricked by the deftness with which his target had evaded his descension spell. As his hand returned to his broom, this time with a tremor of frustration at his blunder, he steeled himself, shoulders straight, to maneuver around trees that threatened to knock him down.

He’d never been known for his fancy spellwork.

Basil didn't really pick up the habit of flying until they moved. Moving was hard for him as he lost the friends he had made. Making friends was a little hard as Basil is an extrovert. When they moved Basil had been given a present by his parents, a book on flying! Basil had poured over it learning about the right way to mount a broom and the sports that use brooms. Basil had found a broom in the attic of his new house when checking to see if his parents had put his paint collection up there. His parents forbade him from using their old broom. Basil had been very annoyed about it. A few days after his parents had gone off to learn about his mum's new job with magical plants. Basil had gone into the attic and grabbed the broomstick. He had put his flying book in his satchel and grabbed his first aid kit just in case. Basil snuck into the forest and took the book out. Pushing away thoughts that without going to Hogwarts he would never be able to do anything with flying he set the book down and mounted his broomstick the way it told him too. Basil had then kicked his legs on the ground and flown into the air. Basil had been so shocked that he promptly fell off his broom.

A few days later he snuck out again and tried to bring the old broom. Basil had mounted it and then lightly kicked off. He hovered in the air. Confident he then tilted the broom slightly down... and slammed straight into a tree. He wasn't giving up though. He had tried again and again. After slamming into a rock and getting bucked off he called it a day.
Basil continued to sneak out and got steadily better before one day his sister Rose followed him.
"BASIL!" She had scolded me. Basil had flown straight at a tree from surprise. He managed to turn his broomstick so that he was flying to the ground. He had then leveled his broom and touched down.
"Rose, you distracted me!" He yelled. Rose had stormed off and told his parents. Basil had gotten in much trouble and banished from flying ever again. Basil had, of course, not even been close to listening. When summer rolled around he took the old broom and went out to more of the countryside and hills. He mounted his broom and flew around in a circle a few times. He then flew up and down, avoiding birds, people, and trees. His flying became steady and faster for the broom he had. His parents found out and for his 10th birthday they gave him a broomstick. He was surprised but they had a reason. They wanted him to have a safe broom if he was going to fly. Basil became a fast and steady flier though he kept out of sight of other people and still liked drawing and collecting and books.

Gellert was frustrated with himself as he was thrust off his broom. He would have to waste time getting back on that their team did not have. The other team was very aggressive, and Gellert wondered if there was any way that his team could be more aggressive back. He wondered if that was the right choice or if going faster and trying to make it to the finish line faster was the better strategy.

Anichka wasn't quite sure how she'd done it but she'd somehow found herself above the track. She took a moment to survey the track below her. As Vasilius speeded up in his broom, the boy's sight which was previously blinded by the green spark spell was slowly starting to restore again but the regain of his eyesight wasn't enough for the young Durm to get past the current round, atleast he was doing lot better than a lot others who were behind him.

Ekachot could feel his skin burn. He could feel the pain settling inside his veins but he continued forward. He was ready to give his everything for winning this race even though he could feel his energy dampening.
Haru was absolutely disappointed with his performance though, not being able to cast the spell properly but rather getting acid burns.
