With Dorion having broken out of their bodybind, their first action was to heal themselves and their team-mate. It made sense, . A soothing healing spell, blessed relief from the pains of combat. It was a rational course of action, given that the lions had marked them a primary target.

And wouldn't you know it, no sooner than had Anderson found their feet, still stiff from the after-effects of the body-bind, and Elsa was upon them like... well. Like a Lion upon her prey. Even with the surprising dexterity shown by the badger, the spell still managed to connect; leaving Dorion rigid and bound. Again.

Ouch.

Logan, it seemed, had the same thought as their partner and attempted to heal herself. A course of action that made Hui-Ming raise his eyebrows. Sure, theoretically it made sense to try and heal up rather than put out the fire. But such an action ran so contrary to the pure human instinct, that it left the Slytherin boy wondering just what kid of training regimen these duellists go through to impart them with such discipline.

Speaking of discipline, one Ivy it appeared had been taken by momentary hesitation, and failed to do anything of import.

Finally come the clouds. Perhaps they were tired of lingering menacingly over the Gryffindors. Perhaps they had seen the looks Dorion had given them, but lightning came down with a vengeance. One missed Ivy, but Elsa was not so lucky as a bolt of electricity zapped her.

No time to let your guard down. A momentary loss of concentration was the difference between victory and defeat.

Nicky was disappointed by the results of that round but she didn't want to think about what it meant for their team in the long run. She had to keep her head in the game. Keep going until the other team was defeated because there was no other way to win.

Ivy cursed herself for her moment of hesitation. For whatever reason, her mind had gone completely blank and she was unable to do anything at all. Grimacing at the lightning bolt that hit Elsa, Ivy shook her head, as if physically trying to shake off her weird lapse in concentration.

Logan winced as Dorian went down once again, that was definitely going to hurt later. So maybe they were not doing the best, but at least both of them had been able to heal themselves a bit before Dorian had hit the ground. If Logan had been paying attention, she would have seen the lightning strike one of the other duelists, but she was more concerned about her own partner. "You good there?" She questioned Dorian, although did not expect much of a response.

Logan and Dori were both able to get healed very easy, Dori was going to do everything in their power to keep Logan up. They would be securing a win for Hufflepuff no matter what it took. Including, apparently, manifesting a lightning strike on Elsa. Before they could celebrate, Dori was once again stiffened up and falling over thanks to a body-bind. There was another grunt as they hit the floor. "Never been better."

Hui-Ming could not help but feel a bit of sympathy or the Gryffindors. They had come into this duel with a reputation for being harder to hit, it appears that it was the Gryffindors, rather than the Hufflepuffs who could not connect with the spells that they were casting today. And the bad day for the Gryffindors continues

The bad luck started with Elsa being struck by lighting. Again. To be struck twice in quick succession was definitely unlucky. Perhaps a portend of the turning tides of battle. Indeed, Elsa's bad luck continues as her blindfolding spell flies wide of its intended target.

Dorion continues to struggle against the body-bind, unable to quite break free of the effects of the spell until the spell finally peters off; which elicited a small nod from the Slytherin moderator in acknowledgement, as the ex-Huflepuff captain again became a valid target for the duel.

Logan successfully sets Ivy on fire - payback, perhaps, for the burning that the badger had to undergo in the previous rounds.

Ivy, meanwhile casts healing on herself. A minor healing effect, a salve to the hurts of the duel. Not anywhere near enough, in the bespectacled snake's mind. But every little bit would help.

Logan nearly did a little happy dance when she realized her Incendio Duo had actually hit her target, she managed to hold off though not wanting to embarrass herself in front of everyone present at the dueling matches. She would do it later though when there were not spells being cast at her from opposing teams and where no one would see her. The Hufflepuff did glance over to make sure her partner was doing at least slightly okay in the moment though.

Nicky tried not to think about how badly the duel was going. She was going to do her best anyway and see how it turned out. She had to focus on her opponents. Use their weaknesses to her advantage. Remember the strategy, keep to the strategy. And go for the win.

Ivy gritted her teeth as she was set ablaze, eyes widening at the flames. What on earth? This duel was going pretty badly for her and Elsa, but she tried not to think too much about that. Gripping her wand, Ivy stared down her opponent and attempted to ignore the fire. She needed to get her act together!

The tail end of the duel found the Gryffindors desperately trying to hold on, while tiredness took its toll on all the present duellists.

Logan, in a show of surprising resilience kept up their offensive against Ivy, landing yet another spell on the battered Gryffindor girl. The girl in question was also staying on her feet in a show of unnerving determination, slowing healing up her bruises as best as she could.

The other Lion, Elsa had her blindfolding spell shoot way off target away from both Gryffindors and towards--

Hui-Ming to jump to the side rather gracelessly to avoid the incoming blindfold. He'd give the girl a sharp look, but let the issue pass without comment -- he had not been doing much better at this point in his own duel, after all.

Dorion had taken no action. Had they -- much like him -- been distracted by ow off course that blindfolding spell was? Or was tiredness taking its toll on the older Hufflepuff? A small respite for the Gryffindors that. And the fact that there was no lightning. For now.

Small mercies though they may have been, one thing was absolutely clear. With only 2 rounds of casting remaining, the Gryffindors would need to pull off something REALLY special if they wanted to win this match.
