This isn't that important, but I'm just not having a good morning. Got to bed super late last night so I'm really tired, I can't find my favorite pants that I was planning to wear and I'm super sore from working out yesterday.

I've lived a thousand lives and I've loved a thousand loves. I've walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time- because I read.

I'm in moment of overwhelming panic.
I wanted to cry,
And I feel like I'll faint at any moment for tomorrow back in my place.

So for long time ago, there's an assignment of the art lesson project from our teacher. We have to dance, helding a drama, or telling poems. It is said we can do it by groups or simply alone.

Nobody took me into their groups, and I ended being alone on doing so, probably the only one who did in our class. And chose to read poems.

And that was, the start of my ongoing problem.
For several weeks, I just left out there in cluelessly on what kind of poems should I write and read about, while my whole classmates practicing for theirs. I do wanted to join them, I really do but they seemed to be already close to finish up ( they mostly do drama and singing for it ) So if I just joined, it's possible for them to rework the whole thing.

With my own stupidity through those whole time I've only busy being drowned in sorrow for having myself alone on the assignment, getting stressed out on writing propose's file, and occassionaly changed each lines of the poems since i have zero experience on making them in a correct, decent way.

Though eventually, I finished on making both of them.

Until this week of Saturday and Sunday, I just knew a fact recently that we have to performance it in a hall tomorrow. Right infront of the whole crowds of our underclassmen, students from other classes, and teachers. Which is what I thought that we simply just do it infront of the class turned off to be wrong.

I do already cried alone before in terms of not getting a group for this assignment. And this just make my head hurts even more.

I'm not that great on that, I've had myself stumbling over my own words when communicating with others, and I'm fully a weak person when it comes to crowd. Even my whole body will simply shakes in terror once when we have presentation. Not only that I think my poems wasn't that great to begin with, I've showed it to our art teacher, they said it was alright but my guts tells me otherwise.
it's garbage. Fully garbage. I hate it with all my passion. and I can picture their faces curling into confusion as the time I read my poem.

I don't know what to do anymore. They'll laugh at me, I'm sure of it.

*hugs* even without a group, I'm sure you can do well. If it's hard for you to be in front of crowd, just focus on your performance or try to distract yourself from looking at the crowd, and this should help you.

Also, since your teacher said your poems are alright, I believe it's really nice, just it's your first time and you sure might feel like it's otherwise. You can share your poems with me in owl if you want, but even without it I am sure it's nice.

Also, even if others won't understand or won't like your poems, what matters the most is your performance. We are all different, but it doesn't mean that your work is bad, I'm sure no one will laugh at you and you will perform in a nice way.

If you want help in improving the poem, I can help. And about stage fear... Well here are a few tips I learnt in my public speaking lessons as a kid.
Before that, you have to believe in yourself, as hard as it seems to be...
1) DON', Don't ever look at people's reactions to what you are saying... Half of the people out there just want to bring your confidence down by laughing at you.
2) Breathing helps. And you gotta breathe at the right moments to not look anxious. Like breathing, while saying a vowel, it's a singing technique too btw.
3) Take the correct pauses. A short pause after a comma and a longer pause after a full stop. These pauses will give you time to remember what you need to say next or you can just take a quick breath during that pause.
Also remember, if there's a mic, remember to have some distance with it while you breathe.
4) Maintain an eye contact with the general crowd. This might look as if it's contradicting my first point, but it isn't. You need to look at the crowd, but not specifically at people. Looking at the crowd will make you look confident. Stand straight while you speak, if you got to be standing or just have a straight posture in general. Helps in feeling confident and looking so asw.
5) Avoid using filler words like uhmm, uhh and all. As I said in point 3, use pauses instead.
6) Practice a lot. Since this is an assignment, you have to bring yourself out of the sorrow. It's sad that nobody added you to their group, but you don't have time to linger over those thoughts. Show them, you can do it alone!

I wish you the very best for this assignment! Make sure to rock it because you totally can!

And I'm a monster on the hill

I totally understand what it feels like to be left out. I know it hurts when people don't choose you or you end up alone- that's one of the worst feelings ever! I have felt lonely and like I don't fit in for so many years of my life, and it's not fun! If people leave you out on purpose, then they have no idea what they are missing out on. But I think that it doesn't actually matter what other people think, about your poem or about you in general. It sucks to feel unwanted, but actually, those other people were probably too preoccupied with making sure they were with their friends and wanting to do well themselves that they didn't realize that you were hurt. You can rock this performance without them, and maybe you'll learn something new about yourself in the process :)

I've lived a thousand lives and I've loved a thousand loves. I've walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time- because I read.

I really appreciate all of you guys replies, but I happened to not be born in an English speaker country, so my poem would be kinda impossible and late to change 😭

I know it’s easier said than done, but I’d ignore the other students. Your project is to read your poem in front of your peers. Just concentrate on that and not on what they are doing. Be sure to breath and take pauses when doing it.

It is a good idea to look at your audience (your peers) from time to time, but don’t get discouraged from what they are doing. Focus on reading your poem the way you want it to come across.

Since your teacher said your poem is alright, I don’t think you need to change anything. Why start changing things and getting nervous over that? In my opinion, of course.

Good luck with the poem and reading it out. I know you can do it! <3

Rowan arrived, stunned, emerging from the snow and arriving in front of the crowd. "Why hasn't anyone ever told me about this place?" Then, she hugs to all of you.

If I had to tell you my deepest secret, I guess I'd say I never loved me right
