So, after listening to some extremely dramatic music during which Odysseus is staring down the unconscious cyclops, Eurylochus comes to knock some sense into Odysseus. Instead Odysseus proceeds to ramble about how he knocked the guy out. Eurylochus asks the far more important question of what they should do with the dead people. Odysseus of course, cries and says to remember them. I promise I will never forget the lovely naive and a little bit crazy Polites. He will remain in my heart forever. Now get out of the cyclops cave before you die too.

So, Odysseus tells everybody “Hey, lets sharpen this club and stab our lovely friend over there in the eye.” Without apparently doing any sharpening they pick it up and somehow walk right over to its eye despite it supposedly blocking the path. In goes the magically sharpened club and they all run away as it starts crying in the corner. Then the other cyclops who magically appear start yelling at it to tell them who hurts him. The idiot of a cyclops gives the name he was given which is nobody. The cyclops leave and the men grab the sheep and leave without even trying to console the poor cyclops.

As they’re leaving Athena comes and gets mad at him for leaving the cyclops alive. Like, it killed your best friend and you're just leaving it. Odysseus is a little bit mad at her for playing the best friend card, though, and makes an idiot decision. He turns and yells at the cyclops which is super dumb. Like, you don’t give a cyclops your name and social security number. The cyclops then appears to have a midlife crisis with how terrifying his smile just became.
