Akari Kabukimono Mahoutokoro

"Hm? My sense of fashion? Well, my father tells me I have none, haha. That's okay. I prefer convenience. After all, what's important is how I behave, not what I'm wearing. Besides... I kind of threw this together in two minutes this morning. Shh. You heard nothing, you shall say nothing. Thanks."

Akari's fair complexion contrasts with his brilliant red eyes, which are naturally a jade green. He wears contact lenses because, according to him, "Ya know, lil cousin? They make me look cool. I've always wanted to see someone take one look at me and run in the opposite direction. I mean, not everyone. That would be bad. I still want friends."

His eyes seem to hold a distant, glassy look, as though he is somewhere far away. But on the contrary, Akari is always focused and calculating, though he seems laidback. Akari draws the attention of crowds with no problem, but can easily sneak around unnoticed, carrying himself with unusual grace for his boisterous attitude.

He is often found out late watching the stars sparkle distantly above him. Akari constantly plays with fire, so at least some part of him is always burnt whenever Eonaria sees him, whether it be singed hair or a scorch mark on his clothes.

Akari received many lessons from his parents about the importance of morality and supporting others. He grew up to be a sensible child, slow to temper and always a relaxed, stable pillar for his peers. Akari loves to encourage other people, whether it be through humor or firm guidance. He knows exactly what he is going to say before opening his mouth. He practically exudes a calm, soothing confidence.

Like most children, Akari's life is veiled by a touch of wonder. He enjoys learning, especially about foreign magical creatures like thunderbirds and Norwegian Ridgeback dragons. He isn't the type to prattle on endlessly about his interests, but you can see the passion he holds for every word he speaks. He loves flame-related things like sparklers, bonfires, and fireworks. Often in conversations, even when the topic itself is not interesting to him, Akari will still listen intently. He loves seeing similar passion expressed in others. Akari is wholly, truly, and unapologetically himself.

Whenever he speaks, he often sounds wry and somewhat sarcastic no matter the topic. Akari's parents made sure that he grew up both compassionate and independent. He would never allow himself or his friends to be bullied. Hidden beneath a warm and welcoming flame lies a strong, iron core. Akari comes off as a kind, gentle, and amiable person, but he still has his dark side. Push him too far, and you might just uncover the wrath of the human soul ablaze. After all, every person has his limits, and Akari's supply of patience is not infinite.

XXXHikaru took an apprenticeship in Japan, working as a wandmaker in Kawakiri. There, at the age of 24, he met and fell in love with a woman named Amaya. Once he finished his apprenticeship and received a stable job, they got married and moved into a home in Hinode Kōgen. Hikaru and Amaya had a child, whom they named Akari, almost a year before Hikaru's cousin, Tomomi, gave birth to twins. Akari's birthday is October 1, so he's still in the same year as Eonaria.

The family unit always supported one another, not giving everything too easily but ensuring growth. He had a lot of friendships, though not many of them lasted very long. He loved making others laugh. Akari didn't have much interaction with Muggles, and his parents almost never talked about them. They were very careful to not do anything that would possibly violate the Statue of Secrecy.

XXXHe admired his parents whenever they performed magic, but they taught him not to rely on it too much. Although they were relatively wealthy, Hikaru and Amaya wanted Akari to learn to be independent and ready for the outer world. As he grew older, his parents taught him some psychological and social tricks they had picked up through the years(just the kind of stuff that can get under people's skin, nothing too crazy).

First Instance of Accidental Magic

XXXOne fateful afternoon in 2019, Akari was on vacation with his parents. They were visiting with their relatives in England. Eonaria was jumping around in excitement talking about her first incident of accidental magic. Akari was surprised that she had already manifested her magic, but smiled and applauded. Eonaria asked hopefully if he could do magic yet, to which the answer was no. Akari didn't want to disappoint Eonaria, so he tried to do it.
XXXAfter multiple failed attempts, he sighed and finally admitted that he couldn't. Eonaria's twin brother muttered something not-so-nice under his breath. Just as Akari opened his mouth to berate him about judging people based on achievement, the stack of napkins on the kitchen counter burst into flames. All three children jumped in shock, but as quickly as it came, the flames went out. Only the one on top had burnt to ashes.
