It should take less than 11 days for the update to go through, but if you've been waiting over 10 days you can owl Béatrice Lydursdattir or Elaine Pendrast

Pretty much my recommendation is to not wait until the last minute for the spells you might want to use. If you are a duellist for instance, consider what spells you will use in duelling and prioritize those lessons. There are a number of theory-crafter users on site so I am sure one of them will talk your ear off. Another good resource is your captain. As for events and the impending hexwizard. I am a sadist and have nothing better to do than to ruin your life, I rec. having all the spells... Definitely get them early. Do not wait until the last moment.

Yup. I already submitted homework, I'm just waiting for it to be graded so I can update trunk. But the ball will most likely last for awhile, so I think I should have time. I'm just playing the waiting game now.

Also I had another question! I forgot to ask this before, or maybe I did and just didn't see the answer.

So if you are a Parselmouth in your first year, does that mean you can't apply for an ability in your first year too? Or is Parselmouth considered your ability for your first year? I know you can only have 1 ability per year, so was wondering if Parselmouth was considered an ability or not (since it's listed as a talent) and if it's not then can I apply for an ability before I graduate into 2nd year?

If you're a Parselmouth, you can apply for an ability every two years. So, in your first year, you can't have an ability - instead, you can talk to snakes

Heyy! I have another question!

Once you get your spells/potions etc... and you want to update your trunk, you fill out the form for updating trunks etc... but it says please include any coding you want for your trunk. If your trunk already has coding from before and you just want to put spells/potions into it but keep your current coding, do you have to give them the same code as before with the added spells/potions in that code? Or can you just say add these spells to the current code in the trunk? I was confused.

You can do either! If you already have code in place then they'll generally just add onto the list that's already there. Probably easiest for the mods if you include the complete code though since then they can just copy-and-paste it in rather than typing it in.

Gotcha thank you! Also, how do you give/trade someone an object as a first year? I know you can't give/donate/trade money as a first year but I know you can give/trade/donate an object but I can't figure out how to do it.
