Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
⋇⋆Part-Veela⋆⋇
Eleanor was part of a pure line of Veelas, each more prideful than the last. They all had pale, delicate skin and blond hair that glimmered, each strand perfect. But their eyes remained rigid - beautiful, yes, but a piercing stare was locked into them. They weren't the kind of people you would want to cross.

Eleanor inherited all the traits from her ancestors, each feature picture perfect. But her eyes, instead of blue like the rest of her family, were brown. Brown seemed like such a drab color, boring, dull. But her eyes were unique, as if brown bent its own rules to produce the loveliest shade of it. It made her well liked within the family, making her name glorified. She grew up as a high maintenance girl, with an obnoxious temper, but, beautiful eyes.

She later on married Frederick, a Vodyanoy. Eleanor and Frederick later gave birth to three girls, Charlotte, Juliette, and Eiffel. Charlotte grew up tall and had a perfectly structured face with thin lips. She had many talents and proved to be the best at whatever she attempted. Eiffel was two-faced, eyes changing from innocent to fierce in a single moment, trapping her intended victim. She was cunning, and incredibly alluring, using her looks to deceive others. Wherever she went, eyes remained locked on her.

That remained Juliette. She was born pretty, with a thin nose and wide blue eyes. She grew up with neat blond hair and a pointed chin. She looked nice but plain, regular. Her parents and sisters made that point many times, making her the outcast of the family. Every night she would look at herself in the mirror. She would close her eyes and pray for a new face, a better one, with long lashes, thin lips, and a structured nose. But she would open her eyes to see no change.

But, she was wrong there. There was a change, but it wasn't visible. Yet. Over time, as she progressed through her teenage years, her appearance began to improve. When she looked in the mirror, she saw the girl she had always dreamt of looking like. Her looks caught many men’s eyes suddenly, and she never went back to being ignored.

At first, she ignored it all, after noting how naive they all were, once paying her no attention, but when her looks improved, they were tripping each other's feet to get even just a glance at her. Over time she grew accustomed to their adoring stares, and she began to not mind them, beginning to feel normal. Her family members acted differently too, but not in the way she had hoped. Whenever she entered the room, they became quieter, and instead of her sisters taunting her, she was mainly ignored. Her parents, however, became much kinder.

Later on, she began to search for someone to wed. When word got out she was looking for a significant other, many men began to try and get involved with her life, making exaggerated attempts at winning her heart. Later on, when Juliette was having trouble deciding, she enlisted her parents to help, who merrily agreed, and advised her to marry a man with pure Veela ancestry.

It took a while, not for finding a suitor, but more for getting to know them. She learnt how to detect men’s emotions and spin them to her advantage along the way, and it wasn't too long until she found out their intentions for marrying. There were various reasons, for money, for stability, for the girl’s looks. But, she rarely found any men who’s answer was love. Most of them she didn't love back, she even dated multiple men at a time just to speed up the process.

There was a man who stood out, though. His name was Chris Glendale, and, he was the first person who she seriously considered marrying. The man was charming, with looks that made her fall for him hard. He had a great personality too, breaking out a smile every so often. After a while, they got married and had a happy relationship. But, after a while it started to go downhill. They didn't interact nearly as much as they used to. They got into arguments, and it ended with them splitting up. She made a promise to never wed again.

But, her promise eventually broke. A year or two later, she found out her parents were sick, and their condition was worsening. She went to their home, which was located in the heart of a forest, but stretched out fairly long. One morning she went for a stroll in the forest, and met a man named Tristan Havenmore. They fell in love and he proposed, Juliette was hesitant to marry someone who wasn’t a Vodyanoy, but, she accepted, and they got married.

Juliette’s family wasn't supportive of her decision. The Veela line was sullied thanks to her. They cut off all ties with them, leaving the couple in the dark. But, they forged a new path, and a glorious one it was. They lived in a large Manor, and had jobs of their heart’s desire.

They also gave birth to a girl. It wasn’t too hard to detect that she was a Veela. Each strand of her hair lit with passion, and gracefully swished alongside her. Her eyes were filled with potential, and she used them as a tool to persuade. It was a brilliant blue hue and a source for sensing her emotions. Her face was delicate, but often look sharp, accompanied with a piercing stare. Her name was Lilliana Havenmore.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Wandmaker

Length: 23.87 cm

A rather "in the middle" length. Not too short, yet not too long. Billy's character has many different sides to it, and despite having such a calm attitude, her heart and mind is a raging fire. To most, she is refined and formal. Especially with her speech. Billy finds it incredibly important for good first impressions, and yet, she can be a bit mischievous. This is especially true with people she seems to be comfortable with. (76 words)

Flexibility: Surprisingly swishy

A wand that is unpredictable, either incredibly loyal or not at all, the wand is flexible and allows the person to adapt easily. Billy is one that can adapt and goes to the extremes, though she does have a bit of trouble opening up to others at times. When it comes to more flexible wands such as this, they are much better for charm work, something Billy is quite drawn to herself. (72 words)

Core: Rougarou Hair

Billy does not have any interest in participating in the Dark Arts, at least lets hope not, yet she finds herself drawn to such a dark force. One that can sense out if anything involved in such things is around. It rather intrigues the girl and she strives to know more about such a topic.
Yet, it's not all about the Dark Arts, in fact it's about the character. Billy is one, just like the wand, very aware and precise. She knows how to control herself (hopefully) and isn't one to judge...despite being rather brutally honest despite that. However, Billy can be short tempered, allowing the wand to perform powerful spells if needed. Billy is fond of dueling, charms, and is an exceptionally loyal character. (126 words)

Wood: Ash

An incredibly loyal wand with an equally loyal handler, Billy is one to always be loyal to ones she deems close. She's also rather stubborn and courageous, but yet not so far as arrogant. When casting spells, Billy has a clear mind and focus, though she does still need a bit of practice. Yet, Billy's loyalty needs to be earned. But once that loyalty is given, she isn't easily swayed, causing her to be rather naive to that person. (79 words)

How she received the wand: Billy had received this wand while getting her supplies for Hogwarts, so a rather recent wand that had chosen her. During her trip to Ollivanders it rather took a good hour to find the right wand. With each wand that was given and tested out, it back-fired drastically. As due to her seemingly calm and quiet nature, it was thought wands that fitted with those personalities would work. But no, not at all. Ollivander seemed to ponder about that pattern of the wands before eventually trying something different. He then handed her wands that proved too ambitious and yet maybe over-confident and once again, due to that over confidence and snarky attitude, it didn't work either. After a little bit of questions to the young girl, he handed her the wand. A 23.87 cm wand with the core of Rougarou hair and ash wood, incredibly flexible.
When Billy followed Ollivander's instruction, swishing the wand, it did wonders. Her wand was aimed at a set of pottery, causing it to float a good feet in the air before crashing down. It did break, but to the two it was quite the success.
The wand itself is said to have undying loyalty to their owner, as well as the owner having that loyalty as well. A good fit for sensing and perhaps casting dark magic (Which Billy isn't sure what to think of yet), the reliable type, the courageous and determined. Those who enjoy the thrill of new adventures while also having a good sense of their morals. (Word count - 263 )

You just have to accept that, most people love to be pretty. You will probably appreciate your looks when your older, believe me." André shook his head at his mothers 'lies'.

Now that he's older his looks have only improved, He still have yet to see the good side of them. As people keep staring at him when he walks around the halls. He hates it.

Whenever he finds someone staring at him for a long period of time he would glare at them and tell them to mind their own business. André will eventually learn to Appreciate his good looks, and use them to his advantage in multiple aspects of his life. Such as when he gets on the dueling team, and when he finds someone he likes. But for now! André, he does hate his looks. As well as all of the Attention that it brings to him.

Parselmouth [Talent]
Description
Kathy was oblivious that her parents ever prevailed until the age of 8, how much heartbroken was that poor child to contemplate that her parents abandoned her deliberately. She resided with her grandparents and her cousin, Davin. They knew all sorts/grades of particulars about magic, even dark arts to be imposed. But there was something that her grandparents kept concealed from Kathy and Davin, something dark enough. The Anderson family never used magic for livelihood, they used straightforward muggle knowledge and technics to utter their everyday persuits. But when Kathy was with them, they dare not use the muggle modus operandi, instead they tried manifesting Kathy with all kinds of magical abilities to make her the perfect one. She dreamt of dwelling with a decent life, full of happiness, devote her time with her loving grandparents and caring yet innocent-looking Davin. Kathy always stayed in the dark verge of the family mysteries, not knowing much about her past, and she never desired to either, it was better to envisage her vivid future. But who knew that her parents would come considering her at her eight birthday? It was the most dreaded state for her, she never wanted to leave her grandparents and cousins for the heartless parents who catapulted her as soon as she was born. Never the least, her parents wanted her to inherit the Ortiz title. It was a very resilient state of affairs, but on the spur of the moment grandfather [Andy] concurred to consign Kathy away and grandmother [Milly] stayed put with no objection. Davin was dumfounded by their resolution and couldn't endure his irate and dismay. Kathy was weeping heartily that day, embracing Davin tightly, feeling guilty for no rationality deep inside, why would this happen? It was her birthday, after all, why now? Did she do anything wrong to make her grandparents oblige her so effortlessly? The valedictory words she heard from them was- It is for your own betterment. With utter disappointment, she soon became a part of the Ortiz family and got a half-sister, Amanda. But bizarre occurences started occuring as soon as she sundered her way with grandparents. Whenever she was near Stephen, the snake which Mr. Ortiz took care of, Kathy was able to acknowledge it's words, but when she endeavoured revealing it to her dad, he simply shook his head and said it was all her fancy. Kathy often spelt some weird hissing words when near a snake, which surprisingly enough helped her communicate with the snakes. Amanda was astound to see that the snakes didn't bite Kathy when near them, unlike her. When these phenomenons reached Mr. Anderson's ears, he grinned radiantly, "Finally we got another one just like me and Milly." Kathy was unaware of her family's darkest secrets, the secrets which even the Ortiz family were unaware of, and if they knew them, they wouldn't have scrutinized about Kathy's existence in the first place. Both her grandparents were Slytherins, the most cunning ones to be exact. They had their own ways of dealing the circumstances, and gradually a rumour started escalating about them: "They are the Keeper of the Chamber of Secrets and practice Dark Arts secretly." Weird enough, the Anderson and Melody family didn't give a single heed to it, they never even wanted to notice Andy and Milly [respectively] Interacting with serpents, in nutshell, they were least interested in their children's affairs and were never bothered by their rumours or issues.
An unexpected incident occurred, quite extraordinarily, Amanda was trying to wake up the lazy Stephen in order to get her father's appreciation and valuing. But the snake was least bothered with her commands. Kathy peeked at the snake from Amanda's behind and chuckled at her venture, really, how could a snake possibly liaise with humans? "Amanda, stop lingering around Stephen. He loathes humans except Mr. Ortiz."
"Really?" Kathy promptly heard a hissing sound and when she glanced around, she noticed that there was no one except for her sister, and it wasn't Amanda's vocalise. "Did you perceive something Amanda?"
"What? The snake snoring? Don't be kidding me, how in the whole world can a snake snore? Do you think I am stupid or something like that?" Amanda said, frustrated.
"She can't appreciate me unlike you." The hissing voice spoke again and as Kathy engrossed herself more on that snake, she detected that one of it's eyes is unfurled, which was facing towards Kathy. She couldn't surmise that a snake was probably enunciating with her.
"Geez- such an indolent snake." Amanda signed and departed indignantly. Kathy meticulously came near the snake, as it rose it's head steadily, eager to hear her, "Did you articulate with me right now?" Kathy asked. "Right now, yes." Stephen said. "Oh my goodness! I am enunciating with a snake! A veracious serpent! It's awesome!" Kathy said in undertone so that she doesn't captivates anyone's awareness but her voice was prevaded with appreciable excitement. "You don't know who you are?" Stephen asked, yawning. "What do you mean?" Kathy queried, quite bewildered with his question. "Only Parselmouths can recognise my language." Stephen said, rolling back in drowsiness, before Kathy could ask him anymore.

Aisley had always somehow seemed like the best person to help calm you down, being able to calm down the people fighting at school, and sibling disputes. Even when her parents argue, she can manage to somehow calm them down. Despite her stressful childhood, switching around homes every two weeks, she always helped put others around her at ease. She didn't know if it was her personality, her caring nature, or the acts of innocence she put on to get what she wanted. She remembered that after her dad taught her to play one of her brother, James, favorite songs on the guitar, he immediately asked for her to play it whenever he got freaked out by something. She remembered the day it became his favorite thing to just be in her presence, listening to his older sister play a song.

It was a rainy Tuesday night, and Aisley's parents were once again, arguing to get their shared custody of the kids updated once again. The two grown adults screaming at each other had become too much for young 7-year-old James to bear, having woken up from his sleep. The young boy anxiously made his way to Aisley's room, just across the hall from his, pushing the 9-year-old Aisley's door open. Out of the corner of her eye, Aisley saw James walk into her room, clutching an elephant stuffed animal in his hands.

"What's up bud?" Aisley sighed, knowing what the answer would be.

"Mama and Dad are yelling again," He said, looking up at Aisley with teary eyes, "I'm scared."

Aisley stood up, kneeling to her little brother's height, bringing him into a hug. "Do you want me to play a song?" she whispered. Feeling James nod his head slowly, Aisley went to go grab her guitar.

She sat down on her bed, patting the space beside her as a motion for James to sit down. Aisley quickly tuned the guitar before playing the opening chords to Count On Me by Bruno Mars. It seemed like a silly song to play at the time, but looking back on it, the song perfectly represented the sibling bond. To this day, she's heard from her dad that James plays a recording of her singing or playing the guitar for whenever he's stressed or anxious.

As Aisley played the song, she started to whisper the lyrics to her brother, watching as he began to relax. By the time she was done with the song, James was sound asleep. Deciding that he could have her bed for the night, Aisley made sure to tuck her younger brother into her covers and let him rest. She then left the room, deciding to go and try to calm down her raging parents.

Slowly making her way downstairs, she saw her parents continuing to scream.

"Mum, Dad?" She whispered, gaining the attention of both adults in the room, ceasing the yelling and somehow bringing a calm atmosphere to the room.

"What's wrong Ais?" Her father asked.

"Can you two please stop yelling? James is struggling to sleep and I wanna go watch a film with you guys." She said in a soft voice.

Her mother sighed, an apologetic look on her face "I'm sorry Ais, your father and I are just trying to resolve an issue, but I think that the rest of this can wait until a different time."

"Yeah, how 'bout we go watch your favorite Disney film." Her father smiled at her, ruffling her hair as he walked over to the couch, and grabbed the remote.

Aisley cheered in delight, rushing over to the couch, sitting beside her dad, and her mother sitting down beside her.

To this day, she didn't know how she did it, bringing a calm atmosphere to a tense one, easily calming down an almost sobbing child, and completely resolving an argument between her parents with barely any effort. She just assumed that her messy family wanted to watch that Disney film with their daughter. Now looking back, she sees that she apparently just has a calming presence.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Perfectionist II and Nonverbal Magic
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Perfectionist II
Reducio
Throughout all of her Hogwarts schooling so far, Ruby would accept nothing less than perfection with her schoolwork. Straight Os, focusing in class, and studying intensely led her to a deep understanding of the material. In classes where she learned spells, she would spend hours alone, practicing each spell over and over again until she had got it down completely, with her chance of failure minimized as much as possible.

After her time on the duelling team, this only increased. While she had won every duel she participated in, the thought of letting her team down was unacceptable and she continued to invest significant time into perfecting her spells and skills. With time, she noticed that spells backfired less on her when they failed, and that her hard work was paying off.

But she couldn’t stop there. She knew that if she stopped practicing, she would likely lose her touch, and her skills with a wand would weaken. So she kept with it, studying new spells intensely and reviewing ones she had learned in previous years. Anything less than perfection was not an option. She listened carefully in class, did extra reading to make sure she understood every concept and the history behind the things she was learning. She wanted to excel, to go beyond what was simply expected of her. And she did.

When she struggled to find more to do to advance her skills with understanding and practicing spells, she turned to her organization. She was meticulous to begin with, but she started organizing whatever she could in an attempt to gain any further advantage. After all, when one thinks of a perfectionist, they don’t think of someone who doesn’t have their affairs in order and who can’t keep themselves organized. A tidy space and mind was a step towards perfection in other aspects of her life, and that was all that counted.

What’s more, chasing perfection, especially regarding school, gave Ruby some of the control that she lacked in her life. When the spiders attacked the Slytherin common room, Ruby was left damaged in a way that magic couldn’t fix. It left her with the feeling of failure – an utter lack of control. She had been helpless to defend herself, her friends, or the housemates who trusted her as a prefect. She swore she would never feel that way again – never so helpless or unable to control what was happening to her. The event would drive increased perfectionism for years.

(415 words)

Nonverbal Magic
Reducio
Ruby’s next pursuit over her fourth and fifth year was nonverbal magic. This was an undeniably advanced form of magic, but she knew that she could do whatever she put her mind to. She was highly ambitious – after all, she was a Slytherin – and this drove her to constantly be striving for something more than her peers or what was taught in classes. This began from her first year, this drive leading her to be a perfectionist and seek to excel in everything she did. By her third year, she was learning how to spread her spells such that she could impact two targets at once. She spent her fourth year training her magic or with her head in her books to learn the concepts behind it, becoming even more obsessed with chasing perfection.

But there was something else she was learning the concepts of, too. She had decided that her next target was nonverbal magic, something that she was determined to learn regardless of how long it took. It took a while for her to transition from the concepts of it into actually doing it – there was many an instance where she was grateful she was practicing alone, avoiding the embarrassment of having someone see her intently, silently wave her wand only for nothing to happen. However, she stuck with it, allocating time for it every day regardless of success. One day, when she was particularly focused and had strong intentions, she made the wand motion and pictured the results of the spell and to her surprise, it finally succeeded. Joy overcame her and there was nothing better for further motivation than the thrill of accomplishment. She continued practicing every day, spending more and more time on it until her skills began to level off, indicating that she had likely gone as far as she could go for now.

Nevertheless, she was hugely satisfied with this new development and excited to see what more she could do with it. She could just think something and make it happen. While she still had to do the motion with her wand, she didn’t even have to speak in order to cast spells – this could be unbelievably useful. It could give her an advantage in that (unless someone watched her hand movements) people wouldn’t be alerted to what she was casting. It was stealthy in that regard – plus, no more verbally disturbing dormmates if she needed to cast a spell during the night. Besides that, it meant that if her mouth was ever covered or if she was unable to properly speak for some reason in a duel, such as being hit with a Tongue-Tying Curse, she still wouldn’t be defeated and could continue defending herself. Hard work truly did pay off.

Larino Speaking (English)
Larino Speaking (Japanese)
Others Speaking

Larino had been out to the local shops with his older sister, Umeko, and younger cousin, Oscar, on the cold afternoon of November 19th 2021, which was a full moon. The siblings' father had been out to work, and since the remainder of the family were muggles, nobody had warned them of the dangers of the evening. So, when the three of them were heading back, the sun had already set, so it was dark, despite it only being around five or six in the afternoon. They found themselves on a remote path with no light, but since it was the fastest way home, they took it to be back as soon as possible. They were only a few minutes from their house, but it was too far, because all of a sudden, something came sprinting between the trees from the nearby woods. The two boys screamed, but Umeko inhaled and shouted one word at them both: "RUN!"

The older girl and her cousin started to sprint off for home, but Larino was frozen in fear. He didn't know what it was, but didn't want to know. He found he couldn't move, but the other two had already run for their lives. The realization had only just seeped into him, and he broke into a sprint. But it was too late- he could never outrun it.

He raced down through the forest, but found himself backed against a tree. He knew he couldn't outrun it, and ended up by the path when it caught up to him. "Oh no..." He whispered in his native tongue, only just realizing what was appearing in front of him. "A werewolf. I didn't know they existed. Nobody never mentioned this..." The fear was seeping into him, quickly. His heart was beating faster than it had ever done so before, and he tried to keep calm as it raced up to him, pinned him, and sniffed him. He held his breath, unsure of what was about to happen.

His back pressed flat against the wall, his head tilted back as it took in his scent. "Please. Please don't hurt me." He whimpered, and it wasn't long before it snarled, and begun to back away. Larino dared to exhale, but it was too late. The werewolf pounced onto him, its teeth plunged into his right shoulder. The boy felt a searing pain, but couldn't make a sound. He was helpless. It was too late; he couldn't be saved.

It wasn't long before the sound of footsteps occured, and Larino's father Kendo appeared, followed by his sister Umeko, who was trying to hide. After his sister and cousin had returned home, Kendo had took her back out to show him where his son was. Kendo swiftly pulled his wand out and shouted a spell at the creature that was killing his son. The father didn't care about the werewolf, rather that his son was safe. He picked the unconscious boy up, and apparated to St Mungo's, telling Umeko to run home and tell the family that Larino was badly injured, but not to tell them the cause. Since the rest of the family were muggles, he wouldn't want to scare them. "They don't need to know that these creatures exist, or that he may become one of them." He could only hope that she would be safe, for his son certainly wasn't going to be.

Once in the magical hospital, Larino had begun to slowly heal. A few days after arriving, he woke up. "Where am I?" He asked, speaking in English, unsure of who was there.
"St Mungo's. You're going to be okay, somewhat." His father was by his side, assuring him. "What do you mean by that?" He asked, not knowing of what to expect. "Was it real? The werewolf, I mean? " He was genuinely worried now.
"I am sorry to say so, but yes. And you have contracted Lycanthropy." He paused, unsure of how to tell his only son that he was no longer fully human. "You are now one of them. A werewolf."

It was only a few months later that Larino learnt that his father had knowledge of another wizard in the area surrounding Exeter, who was indeed a lycranthope, whom had attacked the boy on that evening. Unfortunately, he had dropped his last bottle of wolfsbane potion, and did not have the chance to brew more, or the opportunity to receive any for that day.

The pebble is now a peculiar type that he hadn't seen before, so picked it up after giving the werewolf a time to close in on him, so he still hears the footsteps behind him, so everything after that follows as normal.

MOD NOTE, Opeila:
1) Ok, I think you are misunderstanding my point- Regardless of the month, why is he walking around on his own at night? He is a young child of... I think 10 years? It's rather unlikely for parents to let their child run around at night unsupervised.
2) The pebble- I have now read your registration too, please refer to what I wrote there.
3) I missed to point this out before- You make it sound like the werewolf is stalking your character. Unless this werewolf has taken wolfsbane potion, he would not have any "human" consciousness of what he was doing. His instinct would be to attack, not follow around. If he had taken wolfsbane potion, that's a whole different matter, that would need explanation again.
4) Why would his family want him to not know about werewolves?

EDITS MADE:
1) Changed to him being out with his sister (12) and cousin (9) at the start
2) Pebble has been removed
3) Changed throughout application
4) Half blood, father didn't mention about being a wizard until Umeko was accepted, and tended to stay away from magic, so he had never come across how they existed

MOD NOTE, Opeila 01/01 2023:
This is already much better, but there are a few things that still need explaining.
1) They walk around in their village at 5/6 pm- How does no one else see the werewolf? How do they seem to be all alone, this is the time when people usually come home from work?
2) Since it is now specified that this is taking place in the village, I need an explanation for the werewolf's presence. Why is he there? Is this another wizard in the town? Then why did he not take wolfsbane potion?

EDITS MADE:
1) Edited throughout, mainly first paragraph
2) Added a final paragraph to explain the reasoning for the werewolf

MOD NOTE, Opeila 11/01:
1) Wolfsbane potion has to be taken every day for a week every month, making it difficult to forget it.

EDITS MADE:
1) Edited last sentence, so now the last bottle was broken
STATUS: Approved, Opeila 15/01
Please keep in mind though that the werewolf who turned him would have been arrested for this.

perfect. perfect. perfect. what guinevere's parents wanted from her. what society wanted from her. what was drilled into her mind ever since she was young: "you must practice until you can do something perfect." so young guinevere, who didn't know to question adults, did what she was told. eventually, something kicked in, and whenever she learnt something new, a little voice in her head would make sure guinevere proceeded with precision and care. in her future years, guinevere learned to make this voice quieter and quieter, until it stopped altogether. however, her unexpected perfectionism stayed; guinevere found herself subconsiously caring about details and such. when she went to school, this went in her favor. guinevere became prideful and slightly egotistic because she was unable to do anything major wrong. her muggle school's classmates, the puny beings, took this another way. they thought guinevere was being obnoxious and a show off, so young guinevere was usually the ousider in many situations.
in guinevere's first year, she realized this "listen with one ear and wing the assignment" tactic wasn't working as well for her, since the workload was higher and the work was harder than before, with her only ending up with E's and even an A. to her, a mere 'Acceptable' stamped on the top of her homework was definitely not acceptable, and so she started practicing and studying more out of classes, poring over her textbooks till unreasonable hours at night, fueled by the determination to never get an A again (but mostly coffee). after a few weeks of hard studying, guinevere noticed a change in her grade results. there were more perfect round O's marked on the tops of her papers, and a diminishing number of E's. guinevere was elated that her hard work had paid off, and this only made her more determined to have her grades stay where they were and maybe even improve a bit.
guinevere found that she liked this new change to her studying. she found that the sensation of getting yet another O was thrilling, and the feeling of knowing she was better than a lot of others was, too, and now that she was already on the peak of a mountain, she didn't want to fall of the other side again, so she kept up her studying game, which saw clear improvements: earlier sleep times (from 1:00 am to 12am; a big improvement for guinevere), and less time helplessly scratching her head over an answer to a question or a difficult concept.
for the rest of guinevere's first year and into her later years, guinevere called herself a perfectionist.

guinevere liked knowing things. she liked knowing class material and she liked knowing what others might do. when she walks into any room with other people, she immediately notices things like how well they keep their hair tidy or how polite they seemed to be, and put those notes in a mental file. whenever she met a new person, she'd try her best to remember small details about them to for future use, like weaknesses or things to avoid. maybe it was her korean upbringing on her mother's watch, but guinevere also knew at a glance what the mood was in a room or person; the small but telltale signs that could let her know if someone was feeling sad, mad, happy, and anything in between, and how to best act in front of them.
throughout her life, guinevere's sense for things were her mental compass, and for example if it told her to tread lightly if there was danger nearby, it was most likely correct and guinevere would be on high alert for the next few hours, noticing everything that could be suspicious. maybe it was that one of her journals were slightly askew from when she had last touched it, or maybe it was one little inkdrop spill on the table. whatever it was, guinevere noticed it and tried at decipher it's meaning as
best as she could.
however, this attentiveness wasnt the case in her younger years or first year at hogwarts. her trunk was a mess, her table was a mess, her side of the dorm was a mess, heck, she had freaking rogue socks everywhere on the floor! nothing was tidy, and she didn't really care, anyways, if something was off. when she was in her first year, she believed that if something was wrong, it either wasn't her problem and she shouldn't worry about it, or it was her problem and there was nothing she could do anyways. this attitude all changed when she was in second year, though. perhaps it was how she had to experience living with international kids for a whole month for summer camp, and that made her more wary and observant, but she started caring about other's intentions and how that would go for her, which eventually stuck for the rest of her schooling at hogwarts. after this, she noticed that there were less mishaps she got into, less dangers she got herself into, and she quite liked it, since it meant there were less things she needed to actively worry about.

Lilian grew up surrounded by nature and she spent most of her early childhood exploring. She crawled through fields of flowers before she could walk and as soon as she was old enough to do so, she would help her Dad in the garden. And they had a huge garden, full of flowers and herbs and vegetables, trees and bushes. Lilian loved being in the garden with her Dad, learning all about the different plants which grew there. She also loved wandering through the woods and climbing on trees. Everyday, she brought something new from trips to show to her parents, asking what it was and what it could be used for.
She learned how to write fairly early and she used that ability to write a journal full of descriptions of the things she had collected in her room- dried herbs, tree bark, stones, egg shell and much more. She would catalogue them and store them safely in case they become useful one day.
When Lilian moved to England, she had to leave a lot of the items behind and it broke her heart. All of the work she had put into this collection was for nothing and in her new home there was barely anything to collect. Still, she couldn’t give up her hobby and so she started collecting things she found in the school yard and on her way home. And slowly, very slowly the amount of collected items started to grow again.
Then they moved again, now into the house of her mothers boyfriend and Lilian had to fight her Mom to convince her, that she could keep all her stuff. And much to Lilians surprise, she moved into a slightly bigger bedroom with enough space to put an extra cupboard in just for her collection and. Of course, as they moved near a forest, Lilian spent a lot of time collecting even more items and soon the cupboard was too small but Lilian made sure that every item finds a safe place in her room, just in case she might need it one day.
Lilian has always been a collector. Everything that might be of value in the future, she takes. Her whole room is full of dried plants, roots and bark of trees, bird eggs and feathers, snake skin, teeth and bones of various animals, stones and shells and much more. Whatever anyone might be looking for, Lilian is likely to have it.

The Sáezes were a longstanding Bolivian magical family. They had long been living in their own community for many generations before Mateo was born. At first, when the family needed to settle in the jungle, there had been many predators, and one of the most dangerous had been snakes. However, snakes had never been a problem for the Sáezes, a skill which had eluded the knowledge of many outsiders to their village for the longest of times.
Mateo had grown up in the same village generations later, surrounded by the same species of snakes his ancestors had. But since he was a child, he had always been taught that the snakes were not something to be scared of, but rather something to admire and respect. Mateo never understood why he was told that, but knew it was best to follow the advice. He trusted his family had reasoning behind it.
The first of his abilities were unearthed when Mateo had become lost in the rainforest as a young child. The sun was setting, and even though Mateo hoped the snakes wouldn't hurt him, there was no telling if the other creatures that lurked in the shadows would have shown the same compassion. Mateo began to grow worried as the sky slowly darkened, seeing that all the trees just seemed to be the same and his path had been covered by the same leafy foliage as the rest of the rainforest. So, it took him by surprise when he heard a voice.
At first he thought it was just in his head. He thought that he was going insane, that the jungle madness his cousins would always scare him about was actually coming true. It took him a few seconds to realise there was a pair of thin amber eyes attached to a long serpentine body staring right at him. He wanted to scream, but the voice told him not to. The snake turned, and the voice inside his head called him to follow. Somehow, Mateo knew he should listen, and stayed close behind as the snake slithered its way to the edge of the rainforest and back to the village. He attempted, clumsily, to thank the snake, who then disappeared into the leaves.
From that day on, Mateo knew what his family meant when they always told him to respect the snakes. He realised the connection his family had with the serpents, and knew that the bond had to be honoured and respected to maintain on their good side. So, he asked his Abuelita to train him in what was known by the family as ‘the way of the snake’-a tradition for all the Sáezes that had the talent of parseltongue. It wasn’t easy for him, and some of the process made him question why he had chosen to follow this path, but the end result he decided, was worth it. Ultimately, he would finally understand why his family had always had such a strong connection to snakes, and would grow to be part of that legacy. WC-510/500
