Vasilius had never been a big fan of dance but when he found out that Violet was gonna be in this one game, he just couldn't stop himself from signing up, ever since the summer camphad started, the boy had followed Violet like some lost puppy because the rest of his tentmates were either complete strangers or knew Elisa in one way or the another, as the young boy sighed one last time as he continued dance, his eyes clearly showing his regret in joining a game like this, one that already gifted him a kiss in the cheeks at the first round itself, the brunette boy wondered why would Violet ever participate a game like this? What if she really is not interested in him? Before more thoughts could flood his mind, Vasilius started feelings something drip on his coat, the boy instantly looked up to see a candle dripping wax on top of him and his partner..

Vasilius at first instantly cleaned of the wax before facing his partner, a girl who seemed extremely beautiful but stern, the young boy muttered to the girl with a cold face, "Would it have hurted you to tell me about the wax dripping onto me?", the boy couldn't believe that he had already spoilt his brand new coat but atleast it was better than kissing some boy or girl infront of Violet, his crush.

Renelle wasn’t exactly sure what had possessed her to sign up for yet another one of the infamous Hogwarts dances. It wasn’t like she had the remotest interest in either dancing or socializing, which was sort of what balls were all about. The two she had attended so far had both erupted in chaos, so maybe that was why. After all, who could say no to chaos?

In hindsight, maybe the Ravenclaw ought to have expected that an event organized by a magic school would consist of, well, magic. If she had even had the slightest idea about the most cruel dancing spell that would be cast upon them, there was no way Renelle would have set foot anywhere near this place.

Alas, it was too late now. Renelle was in the game, and that was that. Luckily, the first round had gone off as well as it could - she had successfully managed to avoid the looming mistletoe, and both she and her partner seemed content to thoroughly ignore each other.

She should’ve known that but of good fortune wouldn’t have held. The second round consisted of dripping wax and ill-tempered dance partners, of which Renelle couldn’t decide which she disliked more.

“Well, it’s not like I exactly got a tip about this beforehand either, you know.” She snapped back irritably, glaring at the wax on her clothes.

She paused. “And just so you know, it’s 'hurt', not 'hurted'. Nobody says hurted.”

MODERATION POST

Needless to say that Aurélie Nathalie Duval is not thrilled with the dripping wax coming from the candle above her; still, she thinks of a very apt way to get rid of it (instead of just dodging) and casts a successful Umbrella Charm to keep it off her and her partner. But there's no kissing here - and similarly, Vasilius Nighthawk and Renelle Dalton make an appearance only to end up chatting.

On the other side of the floor, we have a pair of contenders for the Cutest Award: Lemmy LaRue and Anichka Volosin. There's some hand-kissing, some cheek-kissing, and a veritable chorus of "Aww"s from anyone who may be watching this incredibly awkward, and yet incredibly sweet, young pair. It's a shame this flirty duo are about to be whisked away from each other, because this really is quite adorable!

The music starts back up again, and the spell whisks everyone away to find a new partner... and by the time the violins fade out once more, each skilled dancer is paired with someone very new, in a situation that is either also new or vaguely familiar...

After being pretty much ignored by her last partner they didn't post and almost getting dripped on by hot wax, Aurélie was glad when the music started up again and the enchanted floor jerked her limbs back into the high energy dance that she was required to do.

Honestly, the dancing part was probably the most fun out of this event. Dodging the mistletoe had been easy so far, and while she liked to introduce herself to new people, the dancing was the only part where she got to put in actual energy.

After another round of spinning into the arms of random partners and not even having the time to smile at them, Aurélie was deposited in front of a boy. A boy who was, like pretty much everyone else, much taller than her. She was so tired of being the short one who always had to tilt her head up to see everyone else's faces.

Sighing, Aurélie tilted her head up a little farther so that she wasn't just looking at the boy's face, but also at whatever was directly above them. She felt her eyes widen as she spotted a mistletoe sprig. She had failed her endeavor of avoiding them at all costs.

For once in her life, Aurélie felt... unsure. "Uhm, hello. I'm Aurélie." Her voice was oddly quiet. Taking a breath, she gave the boy in front of her a smile. "We are underneath the mistletoe. If you are comfortable, I could... kiss you on the cheek?" It came out as a soft question and she hoped the boy either graciously accepted her suggestion, or declined nicely. She was just trying to go along with the mistletoe tradition, she didn't want the boy to yell at her.

Lemmy could help but to giggle as his new dance partner stumbled over his name. How hilarious would it have been if his parents had named him Lammy! However, there was a glint of happiness in his eyes and his expression hopefully made it clear that he was not laughing at her. Just as he was about to reassure her, she claimed that English was her fourth language! “Fourth!” Lemmy’s face shifted from glee to shock. “That’s incredible! I also speak Gobbledegook which is the language of the Goblins here in the UK, but to speak four is so great!” The lad was genuinely impressed.

“Anichka…” Lemmy let the new name slip off of his tongue slowly. “Beautiful name. Oh! You live in Finland now. My mother has done business in Helsinki before I believe, but I have never been there. I do hope to visit one day!” The little adventurer could not wait to see the world one day, but for now he had to make it through summer camp and the way Anichka complemented his appearance made his cheeks hot. “Thanks!” A free hand would even touch his face for a moment as the new feeling crept in. One that would have to be processed at another time.

Or so he thought…

The mistake or compelled the pair into action as Lemmy placed a soft kiss upon her hand, but he did not expect the gesture to be returned. When her lips brushed his cheek he nearly yelped as his back went rigid. His dark brown eyes bulged with a mix of emotions that threatened to pop his head. The only thing he could do was to blush deeper and laugh. Just as he was about to speak some nonsense or another the spell would whisk him away. “Remember me….” His voice trailed away as fate took him towards a new partner.

“Hello! I’m Lemmy LaRue!” The lad introduced himself. “Are you having an amazing time?! This whole dance is crazy, but I’ve met so many new people!” A smile split his face as his eyes looked around. “Uh oh. Looks like we’ve got the mistletoe. My third one in a row! Incredibly lucky I’d say, if not a bit awkward…” Lemmy trailed off looking for the other to lead.

♥♥♥ "Is it? It's not just... a dance?" She replied to Aurelie, with her confusion clearly on her face. Why would there be a game encouraging people to kiss? That seemed weird. A dance just made more sense. If people wanted to kiss, they could but like, it should not be compulsory in her opinion. Besides, she signed up for a dance - not for spin the bottle! There was no bottle, for starters! The name of the game literally said to spin a bottle and there was no bottle, for starters!

Nonetheless, the dance continued and Xiomara found herself paired with someone else [Ayumi]. Whilst, she danced, she could not help but ponder on the matter as she danced some more. Quickly looking up, after the other girl's warning about this event being a 'kissing' event rather than a dance, she noticed that they were standing under a candle. This was fine. "Hey there! I'm Xiomara, how's it going?" She introduced herself to the girl with a grin, relieved she did not have to think too much about it. It seemed that there were a lot of candles around so maybe the other girl was wrong, maybe it was not a kissing game!

As the song changed, she found herself with another girl [Aleksandra]. With a smile, she introduced herself to the new dance partner, quickly shooting a look up. Again, no mistletoe. Okay, it definitely was starting to seem more like a dance than anything else. However, as she was looking up, she frowned a little as she spotted the candle started to drip. With a slight panic, she quickly tried to push the girl out of the way, even if it meant putting herself in it, "Oh! Watch out!" She did not have anything to shield them both with so it seemed like the right decision to just protect the other girl, even if it meant getting some wax on her head herself. It was only a bit of wax but why let the girl get hurt if she had noticed it? WAIT - did wax damage hair?! She could wash it out... right?

Anichka had kissed people on the cheek before but generally they were always family members at different gatherings. The feeling she got when she kissed the boy named Lemmy on the cheek was completely different. She was unsure, she'd never felt anything like it before and would have to figure out what it meant. She could tell it had had some effect on Lemmy too just from his reaction. And then, they were off again, she heard his faint 'remember meeeeeeeeeeee' as they were torn away into the dance again. She smiled to herself as she was whisked away, she would certainly remember him for quite a while.

The dance was just as exhilarating as ever and she let herself get swept up by the beat once again. It just a wonderful time and she would've kept doing it forever if she could. Still, she knew it wouldn't go on forever as the music continued to crescendo until once again it stopped. This time she was standing under a candle, she was across from a girl with long brown hair. "Hello... I Anichka she said with a smile as she looked at the girl. She decided why not, and leaned in for a hug.

Violet Rohr felt awkward. She had no idea that the event would go like this. The young girl was immensely embarrassed to have ended up under the mistletoe the second time consecutively.
Nevertheless, she had enjoyed dancing with both her partners as they were rather quiet. At the same time, she could not help but feel her heart stinging seeing her crush and her best-friend, dancing with other people. All she truly wanted was to enjoy the event with him.
Violet had no idea who the person infront of her was. So, she bowed slightly out of respect and offered a hand to dance. She had particularly decided to not tell her name. It was useless anyways. She did not want anyone who she has danced with today to remember her later on. Making friends while dancing under a mistletoe was rather embarrassing, they were better off strangers anyways.
The young girl kept her eyes downcast and yet, she could find both her eyes and thoughts drifting towards Vasilius. The girl who had now ended up with Vasilius, under the mistletoe looked pretty, perhaps better than her. The two of them could make a good couple. She felt insecure, but Vasilius was only her best-friend. He is never supposed to know, how she actually feels about him.
She shifted her eyes off them, feeling dejected and sighed.

Another unsuccessful interaction put Aurélie even more stressed. Was this supposed to be fun or not? Why weren't people just letting go and laughing and dancing as she'd thought they would? Was the little French girl doing something wrong? The thought made her sad. She'd just wanted to have fun with this dance, and all of her partners except the first one had pretty much ignored her.

Now Aurélie was back to dancing and bouncing around the dance floor. It felt as if the girl never repeated partners, always ending up in a different person's arms. There were probably others in her group who had someone they wanted to dance with. She didn't though, she barely knew anyone in her group.

Eventually, she was placed in front of another girl. Before introducing herself this time, Aurélie looked up and found a candle that, thankfully, wasn't dripping wax on her and her partner. She tilted her head a bit down once more, now looking at the girl in front of her.

"Salut!" Hi! Aurélie was too tired to give her usual, cheery wave, but she managed one with the same amount of genuineness. She really hoped that at least this girl would respond. "My name is Aurélie. I'm from Beauxbatons and I'm going into second year. How is summer camp going for you so far?" Desperate, she added a laugh at the end which sounded like she was really parch.
