Picked EmmaLee's Beret (knowing it is wrong choice) at the Stands
Interacting: @EmmaLee LeDames

As had happened at the other spots they had found themselves at, the fireworks showered above the table of items and a new pile appeared - this one comprised of scrolls. People converged upon them, but he noticed EmmaLee had not hurried to grab hers as she had done previously. She had probably figured it out already that the real hurry, so to speak, wasn't necessarily in getting to the scrolls or to the designated spot first second or third. He smiled thoughtfully at her as she handed him his scroll. She opened hers to read it, but he took one last look out the huge glass windows before turning his attention to the parchment in his hand. Then he laughed outright when EmmaLee made a beeline for the windows herself.
Cool. He could spend a little more time enjoying the views - those through stadium windows and especially the one standing next to him. He nodded his head when she stated her belief that the clue had to be talking about the Stands, but as she could see no table anywhere in the stands from there, she deduced it must be, essentially, directly beneath the Top Box.
"Excellent deductive reasoning, Holmes," he stated in a soberly earnest tone. Then he proceeded to scan the stands quickly himself just to make certain he didn't see something she had not. He did not. He bowed with a slight flourish, motioning for her to go before him up the steps and out of the Top Box. "Lead the way and your Dr. Watson shall not be far behind," he said and playfully winked at her.
Just as she had suspected, the table was piled high with an array of intriguing headwear. The answer, of course, was a to grab a top hat, but EmmaLee was in a giddy, playful mood. Not that she wasn't usually, but he silently chalked it up to the snacks from earlier. Those always did wonders for him. He watched as she grabbed a cranberry beret and donned it. It suited her beautifully. The color was even richer and more lovely against the backdrop of her white hair and sparkling blue eyes. He was, honestly, momentarily speechless. He listened to her bemoan the inability to make her snowman French, but hearing that soft French accent, at that point in time, caught him off guard.
He watched as she eventually removed the beret, and his heart tugged to the left and then snapped back into place. "No. No you can't melt your French-ness away, and if a top hat would make that a reality, I'd have to destroy it, I'm afraid," he whispered to himself. He smiled at her, but only briefly, as he discovered he was unable to look at her after hearing what had just spilled from his lips.
Thankfully, it seemed she had not heard it as she went on to mention the idea of Minx in a top hat. This made him laugh as he looked up to see one sitting jauntily upon her head. "As someone not unfamiliar with top hats and stovepipes hats, I can say with all certainty that, No, unfortunately, I do not think Minx would look good in a top hat. I mean think about it; it would simply engulf her. You could create a magic act of sorts, and instead of pulling a rabbit from your hat, you could pull out Minx," and he chortled happily.
Looking over the top hats, he decided quickly on one. "Looks like I will need to go old school with this choice," and he smirked. He grabbed a shiny black one with a red band, while EmmaLee was watching to see which he'd choose, and popped it upon his own head, matching hers. The moment she was no longer looking, his hand reached out, almost as if it had a mind of its own, and snatched the cranberry beret and stuffed it into his back jeans pocket, finally covering it with his sweater. He surreptitiously set his top hat back onto the edge of the table next to him, fully intending to leave it there, hopefully without her notice. He then bent down, pretending to tie up his laces on his boots, so it would not seem odd that he had taken it off.
If she wanted a French snowman, she by goodness was going to have a French snowman. He didn't think his Bohemian snow dude would mind the least little bit.

She was on the home stretch now. Greeted with the fireworks display at her most recent location for the Scavenger Hunt, Emily took the next riddle and scanned the contents. Her eyes stuck on two sentences that seemed to provide the strongest hint as to where she needed to head to next;
Go lower now, and find a place
With a bit of a closer view.
"Lower... And a closer view... Well, that could only mean..." She took off once again, descending down the oceans of seats below the Top Box until she reached the Stands. It was her best bet aside from the other locations where she had already been before.
Even though she was a little unsure, she just had to trust her gut with this one. It was too late to change her mind once she got to the Stands. She was on the clock and to try and figure out the whole riddle again was wasting what time she had left before the event would end. She examined the items on the next table; Earmuffs, a Top Hat and Berets.
When there, make sure to examine
That which goes upon your head.
You'll hear just fine and be not French
With this stunning accessory instead!
She immediately discarded the Berets upon reading the end of the riddle. "If I'm reading the riddle correctly, an 1800s headwear popular in France won't help me..."
She was now in debate between the Top Hats and the Earmuffs though another skim read of the riddle helped narrow down her choices. Unless Earmuffs came in rich leather and diamond-crusted lining, then they weren't what she should be looking for either.
"By process of elimination... Top Hat it is!"

The Stands
RPing as Zophyr Qethnis from Uagadou Genderfluid, pronouns at the moment: she/her☽ Kirundi | French | English | Swahili | Arabic | Tswana | Xhosa ☾The last couple riddles had not been too difficult, and the gold fireworks had confirmed that Zophyr and Tone had chosen the right place (though she wasn't sure about the objects just yet, perhaps that would come later?). And it seemed this next clue wouldn't be any different either - a "place with a closer view" was just about as obvious as you could get without naming the stands themselves.

Tone, having seemingly thought the same, waited for Zophyr to get on his broom, asking what she thought of the winter theme. She half grimaced. "Well, I can't say I love it. I much prefer... warmer weather. And I was underprepared in terms of clothing. But now that I've got a distraction, it's not too bad. You?" She mounted the broom, nodded at him, and off they flew into the air.
The stands were not far at all, and once gotten there, the riddle (unlike for the last few times) made it easy to pick an object. Hearing just fine, so not earmuffs, and not being French, so not berets, which only left the top hats, fitting the description of going upon your head perfectly. Zophyr joined Tone as they both picked one up. "Yeah, these are getting easier! And distracting from the cold, which is grand." She grinned back at her friend, guessing he felt the same way about the fun from his own smile. "Seriously, I can't thank you enough for the broom ride - not only is it nice to talk to you again, but I don't have to walk nearly as much. I owe you."

SCAVENGER HUNT | Round 5
- July 30, 2024 -BE it by a stroke of bad karma or simply bad luck, Septimus lost his scavenger hunt momentum very dramatically at the end of the third round. He was standing at the base of the goal hoops, enjoying the celebratory fireworks (which he'd quickly started taking for granted) by trying to align the display perfectly within the center hoop. When he got sore from craning his neck, he approached the table full of riddle scrolls and picked up the next clue. His eyes skimmed the lines of the newest riddle faster than a champion Seeker with her eyes on the Snitch. Chasers... thrones... accessories... blah, blah, blah... It was clear that the boy was trading reading comprehension for speed, but he didn't mind making that deal. Really, how much brainpower did it take to deduce that his destination was the stadium's Top Box?
With the scroll hastily rolled back up and stuffed under his arm, Septimus left the goal hoops running. Unfortunately, this was a big mistake. Huge. Although he'd been steady on his feet up to this point, an awkward misstep at the edge of the Quidditch pitch was enough to send both Septimus and everything in his possesssion sprawling across the snow. He felt his whole body shiver as his face was buried in snow, leaving behind an imprint that probably would've been funny in another situation. He fought the urge to scream in frustration as he brushed himself off. Thankfully, the scarf from the concessions booth was still around his neck, but his stick and his button had fallen out of his pocket on the way down. Septimus wasn't bruised, at least, but he was cold — and falling behind his fellow scavenger hunters.
The stick was easy to recover, since it was sticking (this bit of unintended wordplay put a tiny, tiny smile on the boy's face) out of the snow nearby. He tucked it back into his robe pocket and narrowed his eyes, searching for the button. He'd picked one that was shiny and silver. Why couldn't it have been gigantic and bright red? If he'd known that he would lose it, he would've chosen something much more obvious. After a moment or two of scanning the snow with no results, Septimus felt his heart start to beat faster in panic. What if whoever was running this scavenger hunt wouldn't count his points without the items he was supposed to find? Would they accept it if he just told him that he'd lost the button? That he'd had it, really, he had, but it was gone, and why would you make kids look for a button, anyway? How could you expect him not to lose it? It would be incredibly unfair if Septimus lost the game just because he'd tripped. Anyone would agree!
Before he was finished imagining the worst, Septimus spotted something shiny on the ground near his left foot and stooped down to retrieve his button. He put it deep in his pocket, hoping that it wouldn't fly out so easily if he lost his footing again. Deep breath. He'd averted a crisis. But he was about to find out that it had cost him.
Up at the Top Box, a flash of golden light drew the boy's attention. His expression morphed from confusion to dread as he realized what was going on — he'd missed it! He'd missed the clue! He wanted to rip the scroll under his arm in half. Stupid! Now, he didn't know what was going to happen. Could he still win? Doubtful, wasn't it? But if he could get to the box in time to take the new new riddle, he might still be able to participate in the next round. With a very frustrated sigh, Septimus started to trudge towards the seats, eyeing the purple-dressed box that overlooked the pitch from up high. He slipped by other scavenger hunters passing him in the other direction and, not long after, he reached the wooden table, where there were still a few scrolls to grab.
This riddle was also on the simpler side, thankfully. He followed its instructions and descended into the stands, walking as fast as he could without technically running. He knew he had to make up some time, but he was afraid of repeating his earlier mistake. When he finally got to where he was supposed to go, he didn't think for long before swiping a top hat from the table and pulling it over his head. He was sure this had to be the answer. It didn't block his ears, and it wasn't very French. (The beret, on the other hand, was the most French thing he could think of.)
Septimus started to bounce his leg mindlessly as he waited for the next — and final? — riddle to appear, unsure of what his status in this game was now. He knew he wouldn't be getting first place, if that was even part of the rules. But... was he out? Was he still in? He figured there was only one way to know, and he'd have to be fine with that. And be more careful, too.

The Stands
Colby grabbed the next riddle and read it carefully. She started to take in some of the words and wondered if it would ever go to the same place twice? Probably not, she thought, as she was sifting through each word trying to find a clue into her next location. So far the only thing that stood out to her was being able to see the field closer. Where she was in the Top Box, was definitely not a place to see the game closer. Which, always made her wonder why people would pay an arm and a leg to be further away from the game?
It was clear though that it meant the stands of the field in which it would be a closer view from the seats. Slightly out of breath from all the climbing and running around the stadium, Colby made her way towards the stands. She went to one part of the stands and looked around. Compared to the other locations, the stands were vast. There were thousands of seats. She scanned the stands little by little until she thought she saw a place where it had a table and three items in piles. Colby made her way to it and walked up to the table to find three items: top hats, berets, and ear muffs. She referred back to the riddle and saw words such as not French or which goes upon your head. Instantly, she knew that it could not be the beret since that was a French hat, and that it needs to go on the head which eliminates the thought of earmuffs. Colby grabbed a top hat. Now that she had a lot of items, she used the top hat, for the time being, as a bucket and placed the items inside until she was told otherwise to do something with the items.
ACTION: Enters the Stands and chooses a top hat as her item.

The Scavenger Hunt was going great for Eugenia. So many riddles were solved. Now, it was time for the 5th one. Opening the scroll, Eugenia read. The riddle wasn’t really had, after all.A place of closer view. Hmm. This is the top box, so it must mean the stands. You are so close to the players. She wondered if she will ever do any greetings when she has games. Looking back at her items, she wondered. What are all these for? Buttons, Scarves, Mittens, Sticks. What will we do with them? It was no time to stick there though. She had to solve the riddle and make sure she isn’t late.
So, the Greek girl walked to the stands, trying to increase her pace. She didn’t have all, day, after all. Reaching the stands, she saw a top hat pile, one with earmuffs and another with berets. Reading the riddle again, an idea lit up. Hear just fine, it mentions. Earmuffs, although warm, make it difficult to hear certain things. It also writes “be not French”. Aren’t the berets an accessory of French origin? I’m sure they are. The top hats are the only ones left, so it must be the answer! The girl picked up a top hat. Are we building a snowman or something? Who knows? Maybe. We’ll see.
Action: Going to the Stands and picking the top hat as item.

________—_______ July 30th, 2024Fireworks went off again and Pyxis was happy to note that he’d been doing quite well with the location hunting thus far. He hoped his item choice skill lived up to that, and he also hoped that the prize given to the winners was something special. It had to be if it came at the end of forcing him to work through the cold.
He picked up the fifth clue and read the first paragraph. It was obviously pointing towards the lower stands, but Pyxis didn’t want to leave the luxury of the top box. He would probably enjoy Quidditch if he got the view it from here, but he didn’t think his family qualified for this specific box because of their muggle-ness. Maybe they could get tickets to another box.
Gearing himself up, Pyxis walked back down to the public stands and made his way to the table. The item was something that people wear on their head and technically, all three piles fit the bill. But earmuffs affected hearing, so that was out, and the French accessory was a beret. Therefore, Pyxis happily picked up a top hat and stuck it under his arm. He didn’t want to wear it while waiting because he thought it would look a bit silly.Action: Picking up a pair of top hat.

The Scavenger Hunt
THE SIXTH RIDDLE HAS APPEARED!
Those who travelled fifth to the Stands would be greeted, too quickly as if no time had passed at all between their arrival and the fanfare, by Midas fireworks of epic proportions and a bunch of scrolls appearing out of seemingly nowhere beside the piles of hats. Each participant could take a scroll and open it to reveal the penultimate location-and-object-hunting riddle of the Scavenger Hunt:
You're almost there now, surely,
Just one more place to go.
Head down to where a match starts
With a classic Quaffle throw.
And once you're there you'll find
Piles of vegetable storage -
As for which one will suit you best,
Well, nothing rhymes with orange!
