Closed Dormbattles 2024 PV

The game started some ups and downs for both teams, starting with the fact that three players hadn't even arrived yet.
Koko, a practiced keeper was a good choice for the first throw and she threw the ball into the 4th section, that was covered by Mahlioz. The younger Slytherin didn't manage to catch it, giving the running team time to reach the first base.

Once she had retrieved it, there was the next problem- no one covered the goal section! Where should she throw? Dan ended up running over, but he also was not blessed with lightning speed, at least without his broom, and team 1 reached the second base. There were no issues anymore after- Dan caught the ball thrown by Mahlioz and threw it into the goal with ease- not before the running team reached first the third and then the fourth base.

That left all but one player who was still to arrive on the fourth base, it was the retrieving team that had some more complications. Two of their players hadn't arrived, leaving them a player short to cover all the bases and when Opeila turned around, she saw another player leave the game. This could end up being more difficult than she thought.

Dan snarled. Colin disappeared, and they clearly didn't fully understand the game. He dashed for the goal, and managed to staunch the bleeding that the points were doing, but the other team had gotten a massive amount all at once.
And now, they were a man down. Wretched little Scotsman. Dan would NEVER let him forget this.
Or, he'd forget in about a week or so. He wasn't sure.

Dan was not happy with himself, not getting this game immediately. Now they had a massive deficit to catch up to.
Though, this was hardly going to sour his mood. At least... most of it. He was still going to seethe over Colin for a while. Desertion is not something Dan would easily forgive. Maybe he'd have the little Scottish rat defend his actions later. Who knows? Maybe there was a good reason after all.

Dan decided then and there that his streak would remain unbroken even if he lost, because now there was a numbers disadvantage.

Now was the time to focus. If they were going to prevent any more points from racking up, they would need to work together and make smarter plays. This could be the turn around point if they could pull it off.

Well, things were starting off questionably. Knowing the rules clearly didn't mean Mahlioz was any good at the game, and the first round was enough to make them remember why they hated sports so much. Especially team sports. Because she kept disappointing everyone. The ball was thrown towards her section, but she missed so miserably everyone from the other team had already made it to the next base by the time she'd picked it up.

And as if that wasn't enough, the game had started without two of their team members. So when they turned to the goal section to throw the ball and get this godforsaken round over with... there was no one. An older year, one Colin had seemed to know, thankfully rushed in and Mahlioz threw the ball without too much difficulty, to which she let out a "thanks!" she wasn't sure he heard. Finally it was over. But everyone on the other team was already so far ahead...

And speaking of Colin, where was he? It was rare that a place with Colin was so... quiet. She looked around again and again, but the blonde-haired boy had disappeared. Where and why, Mahlioz did not know. She hoped he was okay. That was their first worry, before the one about the fact that they only had three team members on the field right now. Oh dear.

They had to turn this around. They had to get back on track. Whether they had Colin and their two other team members or not, they could do this. Besides, it was just a game, right?

He chuckled as @Dan Palmer pointed out their “mutinous” behavior. Adding tinder to the fire of competitiveness that Koko already stoked, he similarly jested. “This is where the loyalty ends, cap! We’ll run so fast your head will be spinning in circles!” In truth, running wasn’t our small boy’s biggest strength, but Avery sure had a big mouth. And he had no second thoughts about talking smack.

He hardly noticed Koko’s slightly faltering smile when he asked his teammates for the rules without even taking a second to figure them out on his own. Well, what was the use of reading a bunch of words when he wouldn’t understand them anyway? The wasted brain power would just sap his running energy! So, when Koko gave him a helpful recap, he nodded appreciatively, and his grin widened when she mentioned that the concept wasn’t too different from quidditch. “Easy enough! Sounds like things we’ve done before. Percy, knock a few of them out for us if you can, will you? Shouldn’t be hard for our team beater. Maybe aim for Dan.” He wasn’t sure if that was also part of the game, but if it was, Rainwood was their man, and Avery was feeling particularly “mutinous” today.

Elisa of the Shaking Broom had read the rules, and Avery was glad that someone else had done it besides Koko. “Okay, at least you did! We’re all set, then! Just tell me what you want me to do and it’ll be done. But don’t get used to it after the game, Shakestra,” he warned with a wink.

He was ready to run, and run he did, thanks to Koko’s jolly good toss. With a wild whoop, he kept going and going, hoping to clear as many runs during the next round. He was just getting started.

Initially, Koko would be unused to the game. Throwing a ball while wind whipped at her face was not unfamiliar, but the feeling of her feet on the ground would have thrown her off if she hadn't been so used to the action of trying to score.

As soon as the ball was out of her hands, she felt her feet speed up, the soles of her shoes digging into the ground with each step that she took. She and her teammates were making good distance and good time, and to her pleasure, the other team was fumbling a bit. She supposed it was a bit rude to be marvelling at their misfortune, but that was just the way things were. It wasn't as if Koko's team were sabotaging anyone. They were just... lucky or skilled, but whichever one it was didn't matter as long as they were good.

After arriving at the fourth base, she would bounce on the tips of her toes, the running having bolstered her adrenaline. She almost wanted to call that a warm-up. Things were going so well already ─ certainly they would have to improve! Having a good number of Quidditch team members on their team didn't hurt, and as everyone else who had arrived was clearly capable, things were definitely looking good.

Reginald ran across the area with surprising speed for a man who was in bed, exhausted from training, and unable to lift his arms high enough to put a shirt on just a few hours ago. He was late, that's for certain, but he wanted to at least make it!

"Where was- Oh! There they are!" He said as he slowly stopped his running when he made it to the Outdoor Club Area, and looked around, seeing the game had already begun and that round one was over...did one side have more people? Must be his imagination.

"H-Hey there! I was late. Sorry!" He said as he finally made it down to the play area itself, and looked at his teammates up close. "This is my side, right? I remember seeing my name on the team that had Elisa in it." He said giving a salute to the team and a smile over to the girl he just named, before continuing "Reginald Drake, reporting for duty 45 minutes late!"

His eyes scanned the field, and his brain scanned the slip of paper that detailed the rules he had read yesterday. The rules were simple and he used to play some muggle sports back in the day before he...started this slight vendetta against them and ripped apart all his footballs.

"Alright! I'm ready. One more time, sorry for being late, but we're still gonna win!" An edge of enthusiasm colored his tone and the general feeling of exhaustion and tiredness had begun to slowly leave his body at the thought of a fun game like this!

Percival looked about the area his eyes alight with a strong fever. When had been the last time he had been able to actually enjoy himself? To enjoy a stupid game that held no real merit except the praise amongst his peers. Percival glanced towards Avery Chen with a frown as the boy started to speak. However, his sour look would quickly melt into a smirk at the mention of his successful quidditch game. How could he not bask in the glow of watching those around him fall to their knees? As the game moved toward the beginning, Percival sighed, pushing aside the nostalgia that threatened to devour him. He wished he could sit here and think more about it, but there were more pressing matters to attend to. Percival would run forward quickly following his teammates towards Base 4. The boy naturally fell next to the smaller boy, not that he particularly wanted to. But Quidditch seemed to have rewired him into at least considering the other a thing worth more than a bug. The boy smirked at the thought as he looked forward. Ready to move, to break things, and conquer.

Some points for her team, which was unsurprising given some members of the other team hadn’t deemed the game worthy enough to attend. That was their choice, although it might end in their team losing. Maybe, just maybe, she shouldn’t talk, given that her own team wasn’t completely present, either. She kept any anger off of her face, although it did bug her that some people had chosen to sign-up only not to attend.

Points, points, points. That was her one and only focus for the game that she only partially understood, which was owed to the fact that she had zoned out during any offered explanation.

All she could do was follow her team’s lead best she could, which meant doing a lot of running. Once upon a time, she had kept up with staying active and exercising her muscles, but now was not that time. At the moment, she was losing any stamina she had built up, and all this running was stretching those muscles. A lot. She knew that after the game, or even tomorrow, she would be feeling the effects of her activity.

But that wasn’t for her to focus on now. At the moment, all she needed to focus on was winning her team some points, which meant running, which meant ignoring her sore muscles.

Tristan did exactly as had been planned but it all turned to nought. The other team won last round their team was null indeed. He saw as Koko threw the ball and Mahlioz failing to catch it. Tristan gritted his teeth because he had hoped to prevent the other team from gaining points. It was already a stacked game against them with two of the players not showing up and another leaving the game. In an unexpected turn, he was feeling quite a bit more pessimistic than usual and was certain their team would lose. It was for sure a downer for what he had hoped to be a fun bit of competition during the school year. Tristan, however, put on the greatest smile he could give and shouted out loud, “we can do this team!!!” He knew that hard work could help them reach their ambitions, even if it was a small ambition of winning a game. He looked at every one of the players in the team and gave them a reassuring smile so that it would hopefully encourage them during this sad moment and result that had occurred. Tristan was sure of the abilities of his team and knew they had the possibility to win if they used their cunning and strength.
