He missed the personification of a white rabbit on the opposing team. She oddly reminded him of Val. Was it rude to assume two albinos were related? Would it be weird to try and destroy the relative of his school's champion and his friend? Eh... Dueling could be cruel at times.

The duel began, and Dee used the moment before the first barrage of spells hit to set into motion the possibly most annoying strategy to exist on the duelling field: She started to drown everything in fog.

Well, not quite everything. More duellists than usual meant more ground to cover, and she had to choose priority targets. So she mostly just drowned the foreign kids in fog. And Aida, because for some unfathomable reason, the white-haired wix didn't seem to mind.

Of course, her opponents weren't considerate enough to just let her cast in peace, but a little hop to the side was easily enough to avoid the body-binding attempt that came her way. "Woops," she commented cheerfully, then sent Manu a saucy wink and some advice that might have counted as encouraging if not for her cheeky tone. "Focus! You can do this! Don't let me distract you." Of course, aiming properly would be even harder with the increasing fog obscuring her sight, but that sounded like it was Manu's problem, didn't it?

β€”Excerpt from A Sunflower in Her Hair, by KΓ‘tia Borges

Dealla dodged her Full Body-Bind as easily as dancing whilst also casting Nebulus from the tip of her wand, obscuring Manu's vision and surrounding her and her teammates - and one of Dealla's own teammates, if her eyes had not deceived her before being blacked out by white fog - in this thick mist. Was there no rule at Hogwarts against causing harm to one's own teammates in a duel? Clearly, the Brits didn't have as rigid of a code of honour as those duellists of Castelobruxo carried with pride.

Still, Dealla's words stung more than her actions. To tell her to focus... to not let the Ravenclaw "distract" her... there was only one Hogwarts student who could distract the Castelobruxo girl, and it wasn't a Ravenclaw. Her opponent's words only spurred her to more anger, which in turn, she could funnel into her duelling and use to fuel her fire.

She would not be losing to Dealla again, not if winning was the last thing she could do on this Earth.

"You wish that I would be distracted," she called back, squinting to see through the fog. "You cannot dodge forever."

Callie didn't tend to process much of anything when she duelled. It was almost as though she operated entirely on autopilot. Although it was hard not to notice the fact she seemed to always be targeted first in duels these days. Sure, she could take a beating but that didn't make it hurt any less. Once she recovered from her ordeal she returned to her usual fidgeting as she prepared her next move. Would she ever stay still? Not unless she was forced.

An obscured, fog ridden piste set the stage for the next exchange of spells. And while the scenery had changed, nothing too new would grace the piste. Variety may have made for a little more chaos, but the tried and true normally gave better results. Or maybe these duelists were just a bit boring.

If there was any boredom amongst the duelist (or crowd) it would be hard to tell - and not only because of the fog. No these duelists were firing hot. There was not a second of hesitation from the lot of them. Manu would make to clear the fog while hurling muffled threats out towards the birds. It was easy to guess that the fog wasn't advantageous to her. Similarly, Felix wouldn't waste a second repeating the same incantation he'd tried last. There was an old Muggle saying for that right? If at first you don't succeed, try, try again? Well, Felix would need to try again. Aida was at home in the fog and made quick work of dodging it. Dylan would join Felix in repeating his last move. He had an approximation for where Callie had been, why wouldn't he be able to hit her again?

Dylan's flipendo would shoot across the piste and wiz past three bundles of magic headed his way. It seemed that the flock had found their prey. Poor Dylan had drawn the admiration - or ire from the Ravenclaws. Was it retaliation for nailing Callie? Or just perceived weakness? Either way, the boy was about to find out. Locked in his own personal hell of swirling fog and flame he would have no chance. Fire, air and force shot through the vortex and assaulted the Guest. It was possible one of the most brutal scenes in a duel Galton had observed. His hand even began going up - could one person still be standing after such a scene?

But the hand would not need to be raised. Dylan remained standing! Still covered in fog, trapped in a vortex filled with fire... but he was still standing! The scene was so captivating Galton almost missed Dylan's own flipendo crash into Callie.

The Murder seemed to be taking their name literally, and Dylan seemed to be chosen as their first victim. The Ravens had taken the lead, but everything could change with the flick of a wand. And the Guests had three!

β€œHang in there, Callie! We'll finish them off soon!” called Aida, dancing out of the way of Felix's attack. There was just no way the claustrophobe was going to be petrified again. A familiar swagger in the boy's motion niggled into the white wix's mind until realization came over Aida's face.

β€œWait, aren't you from Durmstrang? You're one of Valentin's friends, right? Nice job during that wizard's chess match. I loved your dress.”

Aida's innocent tone only indicated genuine appreciation and it would have been hard to see any malice or judgment in the wix's remarks.

Dylan was trying his best to take down the person who he had wanted to attack. He had not expected to be attacked by all three of the Ravenclaw students. He was sorta surprised to say the least. He was still going to try to be there for his team till the end. They could probably win this.

β€”Excerpt from A Sunflower in Her Hair, by KΓ‘tia Borges

The fog around Manu dissipated with a wave of the Castelobruxo girl's wand, and she cast an unfazed smirk Dealla's way, only the slightest flare of her nostrils giving away her frustration at wasting valuable spell time on clearing away clouds. But weather spells had always been a favourite of hers, and of her wand's - so fog was nothing.

However, the thick cloud around her and Dylan vanished just in time for Manu to watch not one, not two, but three spells be cast directly towards her Durmstrang teammate. The trio slammed into him, one after the other, and Manu winced with each hit; he was burning, he was injured. What a callous move, if a strategic one.

But though Dylan was the one literally aflame, Manu's own anger was sparked to a fire, too. Narrowing her eyes at the Ravenclaws, she readied her stance for another casting.

Callie was starting to believe that she was more punching bag than human or wizard. Perhaps in a past life she had done something to deserve this abuse. Or maybe it was due to how often she mildly bullied Thomas and Elias? Regardless she was starting to get rather fed up of the abuse. But that sentiment lasted all of two seconds before she focused back in on the matter at hand. All of this was simply part of duelling! No more, no less! At Aida's words of encouragement she gave a thumbs up accompanied by a wide grin. It would take more than this to put her down for good.

You cannot dodge forever, Manu claimed, and Dee giggled in response, performing a little twirl on the spot. "Watch me!" she called back. "No, seriously, watch me, you might learn a thing or two."

Such as proper duelling strategy. Cheerfully humming We didn't start the fire under her breath, Dee pointed her wand at the shape of Dylan, outlined in the mist. He was the only one of his team who had managed to land a hit so far, so logic suggested he was the biggest threat. Plus, it was always smart to zero in on one opponent first. "Incendio Duo," was the incantation that summoned a rain of green fire for the boy, which was joined by Aida's wind and a violent burst of force, courtesy Callie. Between flurries and flames, Dylan was caught in what Dee imagined hell must feel like, and she watched the spectacle with carefree curiosity. She'd long since stopped feeling sorry for her opponents.

Manu had taken the opportunity to get rid of part of Dee's beautiful fog, and the girl's smirk was returned with an untroubled grin. There was nothing malicious about this encounter in her eyes: Did she enjoy riling Manu up? For sure. But the Brazilian girl was Aly's friend, and Dee didn't have anything personal against her. She was simply the most entertaining person around.
