Everyone who had seen a duel had watched this scene play out before: a blindfolded player with two wands trained on them. Sometimes they could pull of something impressive, quick enough on their feet despite the disorienting lack of sight, but such cases were few and far between. Lucia could expect incoming spells with near certainty, for what little good it would do her. Perhaps all there was to do was get rid of the unwelcome swath of fabric as quickly as possible, and that she did dutifully. The Gryffindors, in turn, showed no mercy. Elsa set her on fire, perhaps pay-back for the Hufflepuff's actions toward her teammate moments before, though the flames wouldn't crackle as brightly. Sylvie nailed her with a Flipendo, and again little bits of crimson welled up; had the Knockback Jinx simply impacted just right, or was this a pattern?

Lindsey would do her best to make a mark while her teammate was down, and indeed this cast looked more like her best--the one Bridget had seen, at least--than the last one. Her Expelliarmus plucked Sylvie's wands from her fingers and tossed it off to the side. The hard-hitting Gryffindor was temporarily off the offensive. If the Hufflepuffs were lucky, the moments she spent searching for and retrieving it would allow them to regroup, for though they weren't very far into the duel, a few solid hits were making the starts of the clear difference. But that was the thing: it was early, and a simple shift in momentum could be all it took to change who had the upper hand.

Despite the strong wind that made her stumble, she managed to raise her wand and aim at Sylvie. With delight Lindsey watched the Gryffindor’s wand flew out of her hand, while Lucia had finally got rid of her blindfold and rejoined the duel. Good enough. Even though the situation didn’t seem like the best for them, they were slowly catching up - and would sure overcome all the difficulties.

Sylvie could never seem to keep a wand in her hand. How... Unfortunate for her. And for Nicky. It was fine! All she had to do was find her wand and hope that everything would be fine! She would also look for any glass on the stage... Perhaps she was in denial that her spells had caused skin the break? Of course, she would find nothing, but she would ask Thomas about this later.

It was the Hufflepuff's turn for an advantage in action economy, two spells at their disposal versus Gryffindor's one. They would not go for a double attack, though. Lucia was eyeing those cuts and decided to turn her wand on herself. Perhaps it was best to stem the bleeding, to not let every movement sting and sap her energy. Bandages wrapped neatly around the broken skin, and Lucia would likely feel a little better with that taken care of.

Lindsey had her wand trained on Sylvie, but two things would impede her Flipendo connecting. First, Sylvie was after her wand, but her head was still on a swivel, very prepared for any incoming spells. Secondly, there was Elsa's cast. The blindfold was once again headed for Lucia, and it would never be entirely clear if it would have managed to hit, because Lindsey made an unexpected movement into its path. It looked like a last-minute decision to shield her teammate, a move usually performed without trying to get off a spell. A little odd, but if she'd wanted to keep Lucia free to cast, she'd succeeded. Unfortunately, that left her blindfolded and her Flipendo veering wide, the jerky movement surely throwing her arm off course. With Sylvie picking up her wand, they were right back to where they'd been a moment again: two lions out for blood, one sightless badger, and the other left to hold down the fort.

Ugh, blindfolded again. Lindsey groaned when the piece of fabric wrapped around her eyes tightly, forcing her to fall into eternal darkness. Finally the wind’s gone, but a blindfold followed closely. She had suffered from an endless trap of blindfolds in last stage, and to be frank that she never wanted such things to happen again. Yet it still happened - she wasn’t nimble enough to evade. Sighing deeply, Lindsey gripped her wand tight. Hopefully…things would get better.

Sylvie grasped her wand that had been ever so rudely flung out of her hand and spun across the stage a few moments prior. She always felt so vulnerable without it on her person- especially on the stage.

She got up from her knees and rejoined her partner, hoping there would be no more bumps in the road... At least not for a round or two.
