Aug 31th
London Quidditch Stadium
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are runnin' the night
Impossible comes true, intoxicatin' you
Oh, this is the greatest show

Twilight was just fading on the last night of camp, making way for one final celebration at the London Quidditch Stadium. Glow bugs bathed the stadium in a soft light, and excited chatter filled the air as students filed in with their friends and dates. Looking up, they would see the banner of each attending school strung around the stands, waving gently in an enchanted breeze.

On one side of the pitch, there was a raised wooden platform, where soon student bands or soloists would be invited to take the stage for live music. It was illuminated by charmed candles floating in the air, never burning out. Amplification charms were in place in lieu of mundane speakers, ensuring that every note carried even to the farthest seats of the stadium.

Seating was provided in the stands, which were filled with comfortable cushions, or on the soft rugs spread out on the pitch itself for a more picnic-style feel. For this last night, the food booths had been brought inside the stadium, giving one last chance at flobberworm funnel cake and fresh lemonade, alongside some special treats: fizzing pumpkin soda, freshly baked, piping-hot cauldron cakes, and colour-changing ice cream.

Dee was off to the side, chatting with Peri and making some last-minute preparations while people settled in, before she easily hopped up onto the stage. A quick amplifying charm had her voice ringing out across the stadium. "Good evening, campers!" she called, pausing while the chatter faded. "Welcome to the grand finale of our Magic Without Borders summer camp! Can you believe we've already reached the last night of camp? We hope you've had the sort of summer you'll be telling stories about for years - made new friends, tried new things, and enjoyed all this camp had to offer. And while this summer was all about coming together and celebrating our differences..." She flashed a quick grin. "What's a summer without a bit of friendly rivalry, eh? So congratulations to the winners of our summer sports! Come on up, take your bow, and then back you go before you get too smug." A quick award ceremony would follow, inviting the winning teams of each of the three magical sports, before she shooed them back down into the audience.

"Enough about that, let's get this party started! In a few minutes, the fireworks will start, and then the stage is yours. You'll provide the music for the night - well, those of you who actually know what you're doing with an instrument. If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late - find me or one of the committee, we'll squeeze you in. And with that, I'll stop bothering you. Tonight's simple: Cheer loudly, eat too many cauldron cakes, and make it a night to remember."

Image

As if on cue, the first fireworks shot up in the sky - and anyone who had spent the summer at this camp would quickly recognise the theme: The magical menagerie started off the night. A glowing phoenix soared across the sky, wings spread in fiery golds and reds, leaving sparkling trails behind it. A hippogriff followed in silver and bronze, bowing mid-air before fading. Nifflers scurried in sparks across the sky, collecting stars, and unicorns galloped along the horizon in shimmering trails. Finally, dragons burst into scarlet accompanied by booming roars, providing the conclusion to the first act of the display. More would follow.

We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now

Damien looked around in Awe as he was glad to see just how the final event of the summer camp turned out to be and it did not disappoint. Damien never thought that he would have enjoyed the summer camp so much but it ended up being one of the best times he ever spent somewhere during the summer. As he looked around he turned to look at Drago who was accompanying him for these last moments of camp.

Him and Drago had gotten along pretty well during summer camp due to them sharing a tent but also just them hanging out the whole time really made it feel like Damien had made a new friend. He smiled at him softly before speaking. “So where would you like to sit ?” He asked as since they had to pick where they would sit he figured he would ask Drago what was a place that he would feel most comfortable in.

“We could sit anywhere you would like!” He quickly added as he wanted Drago to know anywhere he picked Damien would be fine with thought he doubted from how Drago seemed very shy that he would sit in the front or in a lot of people.

Damien had to admit this may have been this best summer ever since he usually was stuck being at some gala or Pureblood event that his father was hosting or forcing him to attend with him but this time he was doing something that was his choice and it was actually fun! Plus he got to meet a lot of cool people he normally would have never met so to him this would be a summer that he would never forget.

He looked up in the sky with stars in his eyes as the first batch of fireworks started to light the starry night sky making it look more incredible than it did before. “Whoa..” He muttered to himself as it looked so fascinating, he hadn’t seen many fireworks shows before but this one would turn out to be his favorite one he’s seen.

Nick had to admit that this was quite the experience. Granted, he had never been to a summer camp before, so it was a rather difficult situation to really compare since he had nothing to compare it with, but, he could at least say he had some fun.

Gathering tickets had filled his mind with things to do, and wandering around aimlessly until he found as many booths as he could had been the most adventurous thing he had ever done in his life. Granted, once again, he didn't really have anything to compare it to.

When he arrived at the event, he was slightly nervous that there were already so many people there, everyone already finding their spots, leaving Nick to scramble for a place to sit. Whatever entity had granted him this one picnic blanket must have been feeling very generous. He dumped his ridiculous amount of snacks on top of it and plopped down with a sigh.

Despite trying his very best to not, Nick couldn't help but watch the other kids preparing for the show, many already found friendship during the fair, many had come to the fair already having friends to share it with! But Nick was unlucky on that regard, he sat alone before and he sat alone now as well.

So he just focused on eating his food instead, letting the delicious cold lemonade refresh him under the warm night.

Meeting up with @Damien Dragonclaw

Drago followed Damien around, feeling skittish because of all the people in the area. Damien had assured him that he could choose where they sat. Drago immediately spied a willow tree on a small hill, farther from the crowd, its branches reaching towards the ground, but from there, they could see everything. He pointed it out to Damien before trudging over there. He laid his blanket, dark blue with little Greek mythology characters on the ground. He knew that Damien liked that so he had chosen that particular blanket for tonight.

He tugged on his collar nervously. Since tonight was to be his last night, he figured that he might as well go in style. He had his long, now shoulder-length hair down with just a bit of oil in it.
Full military garb, but a bit gothic chic, with a dragon pin as well, and he hoped that it would make him look gorgeous. Gorgeous enough that Damien might notice him.

Tonight was the last night of camp. The lats night of the most amazing time of his life. He had met so many people, he had learned to have fun.
But, most of all, he had met someone. Someone different.
The black-haired boy looked up at the starry sky. They were both by this time looking up at the sky. They waited for the next set of fireworks.
While they waited, Drago thought about something that they could do together.

"Hey. Do you see that constellation right there?" Drago asked Damien, pointing shyly up at the sky. He was pointing at Cygnus, the Northern Cross.
He said, in his shy, quiet, but melodious manner, "In Russian, we call that constellation "Leh-byed" which means "swan."

He pointed at another, Perseus, and said that his people said "sozvezdii Perseya," which meant "in the constellation Perseus."
Drago felt emboldened when he pointed these out. He hoped that Damien shared his love of stars as much as he did. Astrology was always one of his favorite classes at his school, because it meant complete silence required by all students.

He stared silently at the sky for a while before turning to Damien.
He smiled at the other boy. It was the kind of smile that could light up the Northern Lights.

Harvey was making his way into the stadium for the last evening of the summer camp events. While he was not one for daydreaming or getting lost in thought, his eyes would be cast to the heavens as the soft glows of sunset scattered colors across the sky. Now, the boy took pride in the fact that his focus was extremely hard to break. Years of strict tutelage and the personal desire to succeed had produced a youth that did not bother with flights of fancy, yet something was shifting within him as summer came to an end. Whilst he looked to the clouds, one might assume he was a dreamer, but it was quite the opposite. This evening, Harvey had been hyper focused on the way there was a streak of purple there amongst the vibrant shades of red and orange. There was no profound emotion attached to it, merely just an appreciation where there once was none.

Harvey's little legs would begin to climb the stairs of the stadium as he made way to the fireworks spectacular. It was sure to be a rather loud event. Something the boy wasn't very keen on, but it was also sure to be an impressive show of magic. Now that was something worth watching as these displays showcased the raw power of witch and wizard. Perhaps blown off by some as just a series of charms and spells, but to him it was something that he could not wait to master. His mind would shift to memories of his first year at Hogwarts and the boy was very satisfied with his work and spell mastery. The summer break had been just as successful with many new friends made and a new art from discovered, but he would be happy to get back to his education.

Soon enough young Barrows was in the stands and had found a suitable seat for this evenings festivities. For now he sat alone. Something that had never bothered him as it often did his peers. Perhaps he would just sit and enjoy the show by himself? An evening without the self imposed pressure to make connections or the push to further some scheme or agenda the boy had concocted. He listened closely as the announcements were made and prepared himself for the beginning of the show. Right on cue the first fireworks would flash through the sky like a bolt of lightning. It was a dazzling display of blues, purples, reds and yellows. The shape of a phoenix would soar across the pitch and with it his eyes would follow. That's when Harvey saw her for the very first time.

His eyes popped at just how perfectly the sight before him was staged. The bright colors illuminated behind her causing her long, voluminous curls to almost appear as if they had a bright aura emanating from them. Her facial features were softened by the shadows cast from her hair and it all begged to be photographed. Harvey fumbled for the magical camera around his neck, but the moment went as quickly as it came. What a pity. Soon his abnormally long index finger would be reaching up to tap the young witch on her shoulder. "Pardon me, but I was curious if I might photograph you?" Harvey's tone always had a way of being rather matter of fact, but she might see a hint of genuine interest in his dark gaze.

As the end of camp was nearing, Siobhan made her way to the stadium where the students from across the world were gathering for one final night of wonder and amazement in the sky via a spectacular bedazzlement of fireworks across the atmosphere for the students to fall back into a sense of simplicity and endearment as they returned to their home schools the very next day.

For Siobhan, this would be a different night. As her eyesight began to dwindle farther and farther into a darkened abyss, it became harder and harder to view the sky with anything short of disappointment. The stars were hazy and farther out of reach than ever before. Whose to say these fireworks would be any different?

And yet, Siobhan had been invited to watch them with Prat. She had accepted with a slight air of confusion but Prat had seemed genuine enough in his invitation so she assumed that it would be just a simple hangout again. She had grown to enjoy his company even if he was a bit facetious and liked to push her buttons everytime something came up between the two of them.

She rocked back and forth in her sandals at the entrance to the Stadium as she waited for Prat. She did not bring Toaster with her as the poor kitty did not like loud noises and Siobhan did not want to cause her kitty-cat any undue stress. She had given him a few extra kisses and extra treats, with a special nest of blankets for him to hide in. With the night growing a bit chillier, she had opted for black yoga pants and a woolen pulloever with a pink and navy blue pattern on it.

As she thought about Toaster, she began to drift away in terms of concentration and lost sight (not ironically) of who she was waiting for. Siobhan's fingers gently fidgeted with the sleeves of her sweater as she looked around absentmindedly in a searching motion but not for anyone in particular. Prat would show up eventually... probably-

She didn't think his upbringing would allow him to ditch a girl without some sort of notice or at least an appearance with someone else.

Siobhan's fingers soon found her hair and pulled the sweeping locks over her left shoulder as she threaded them through the length. It was surprisingly soft for a while without her full hair care routine. She had just been opting for hair masks and oils to keep the shimmery feeling along her back. It was getting much longer and she needed to start practicing her braiding again.

Lilith's eyes, mind and heart were completly lost in the fireworks above her. She let the bright lights drown the noise of the crowd around her, her focus only on the gorgeous figures in the sky. She had came alone, not because she was scared of meeting people, but because she wanted the spectacular for herself. Lilith didn't like sharing beauty. She also needed a night for herself before the start of the school year. In a few days, she'd be one of the students she was seeing around her. In a few days, she'd belong to a house. A new chapter of her life was opening and Lilith found the fireworks spectacular to be a great introduction.

Someone tapped on her shoulder. Annoyed to be bothered during her contemplation, she turned around, and her brown eyes met pupils somehow darker than hers. The boy standing in front of her was slightly smaller than her, and something about him was... strange. In the dark, Lilith couldn't quite place what, or why she was feeling so weird. He wasn't smiling. She took a few seconds before registering he had talked to her.
"I was curious if I might photograph you ?"
Lilith frowned, caught slightly off guard. She wasn't used to strangers coming up to her like that. His words barely sounded like a question, more something like a command. Lilith didn't know what to say, which was rare (to not say impossible) and that irritated her. That and the fact that he was looking straight in her eyes with that serious expression.

Lilith regained her composure. Now way a stranger was going to leave her speechless. Raising her chin and holding the boy's gaze, she asked:
"Why would you photograph me ?"
She even borrowed his tone and made it look less a question than an affirmation.

Damien just smile at Drago noticing how skittish he was which he figured meant he didn’t like how many people and how much of a crowd was here for the firework show. Damien was surprised when Drago had even agreed to join him at the firework show he expected Mamori or Jules or anyone else to accompany him to the firework show but he wasn’t complaining as he found Drago company to be nice.

He chuckled as Drago had pointed at a tree he wanted them to sit at before following him towards the tree, he stopped in his tracks as he waited for Drago to place the picnic blanket down smiling as the picnic blanket was blue and had Greek mythology characters on it which Damien liked a lot, he sat down before smiling at him. “This is a really nice picnic blanket I like it” He smiled before looking up at the sky as he waited for the next fireworks to start, he suddenly turned his attention to Drago and the constellation he was talking about as he was telling Damien how in Russian they call that constellation the swan.

This was fascinating news to Damien as he loved studying the constellations and never actually thought about what other cultures called them, his eyes sparkled as he listened to Drago list another name that they called a certain constellation in Russian. “Whoa…Drago you didn’t tell me you knew so much about constellations and Astronomy! Please tell me more!” He asked as his eyes almost seemed like they had stars in them himself he was impressed.

Geneviève was happily skipping towards the Fireworks event with Alphonse's hand intertwined with hers. After everything that had been going on this summer between her honesty about her nightmares and his mother having her babies, it was nice to have everything kind of slow down and come to a halt for just a moment and allow them to just... be.

Genie wanted nothing more than to curl up against him and watch the sky light up with all the concievable colors dancing around in their vision as she and Alphonse spent their final night together before departing for their opposite ends of school She would be returning to Beauxbatons and he was starting fresh as a new Hogwarts student when the day turned from night to morning.

It was diffiuclt to say the least. She had no way to talk to him everyday and they both knew that consistent back and forth on their owl would only tire the poor birds out. So it was these little moments together that made their long distance seem worth it once they found their way back to each other.

His grip on her hand was the perfect squeeze. Gentle, but slightly tight as if to say "this is my girl" and prevent any looky-loos from thinking about trying to sweep her away from him. Not that she could be persuaded to leave him. Alphonse was the perfect person for her. She knew that he cared about her and the way he looked at her always sent flutterbys into her stomach. Whenever she thought of how they had met almost a year ago it seemed as if it was a lifetime ago. Her brothers might call it a puppy love kind of feeling but something in her knew that it was deeper than that.

Something that her father had told her when she first introduced the concept of Alphonse to him was that first loves were fleeting but true loves were forever. There was an itch in her heart that seemed to croon whenever the boy whose hand held hers smiled at her, brushed some hair out of her face, or even said her name.

Maybe it was just the beginning but she knew it was a step in the right direction so far.

Harvey maintained his eye contact, even when the girl frowned at him. He never quite understood why people were so quick to an apology or to break their gaze at the slightest hint of confrontation. There was something that he wanted, so he asked for it. It wasn’t rude or demanding, simply assertive. Was there really a need to tiptoe around it? Harvey was just like anyone else and was not a perfect specimen, but lacking in confidence was not one of his flaws.

It would seem that he had met another that shared his sense of confidence as the girl returned a dark gaze his way. The corner of his mouth would rise ever so slightly as a smirk spread across his lips. Not only was she striking physically, but Harvey was always drawn to the bold and it only made him want to photograph her even more. Perhaps he could catch the essence of her personality in a picture? Plus the way the fireworks were lighting her up while draping her in shadow all begged to be captured.

Harvey’s brow rose in slight surprise when she turned his question back on him, but it did intrigue him further. “The lighting from the fireworks is illuminating you in an interesting way.” He supplied the logical reason for his request. This looks cool and I’d like to take a picture of it. “But there is also something about you that I think might be revealed through a photograph.” This was the creative side of him that was just beginning to awake.

This summer had brought new life to the artist within and no other was more surprised by it than Harvey himself. For the majority of his youth the boy had been rather dull. Black suits, with black ties. Beige leisure wear with not even a line of color in sight. Perhaps it was his first year at Hogwarts that had set him on such a path. Maybe it was there all along, but now that it was here it was becoming hard to contain. “May I?” Harvey held the camera up for emphasis.
