Pasta Fork? Where'd he get that one from? "Sure," Astra said flatly, rolling her eyes. "Miss Fork to you, punk." The apology from Brookline was lost in Justin's words to Tommy and continued insult to herself. Then the two left. Astra laughed dryly at his remarks while making a note to apologize to Brookline after the race. Really the girl had done no wrong, unless you counted her decision to befriend Chatterface, and didn't deserve to be treated that way.

To Tommy's expression if gratitude, Astra would simply nod and shrug with a small smile. "Don't mention it."

To his next statement, however, Astra furrowed her brow. The Justin kid seemed like a bully, a lot like some of the kids at her primary. Loud, full of himself, and plain mean. "Hey, you don't need to pay any attention to someone who's harassing you. You can tell them to leave. Ignoring your worries to cater to the perceived goodness of someone who's nigh-on bullying you isn't right." Wow, that was deep. Had she read that in a book somewhere?

"I'm sure we've got this race. June and Vale have been working hard with the team," Astra assured. "We're due for a win with how much those two work. Fate isn't always in our favor... But that might be changing, given your vision." Astra didn't know if eleven year olds could get visions or not, but that last statement was to humor Tommy anyway. Also maybe just maybe persuade Fate to give them a break? "Oh, name's Astra. Norrick. Astra Norrick, that is, I forget there's a lot of Astras here."

Before she could answer further, a new voice Scottish and light but dripping with severity entered the scene. Astra glanced upward to see someone who looked a lot like Elisa. A lot like Elisa, as in holy cow are they identical twins except Elisa isn't Scottish.

The girl's sharp stare hadn't been detected before, Astra was so preoccupied with getting the harassment and distractions erased from the situation. She glanced between the girl and Tommy, and suddenly Tommy was gone with a feeble "Oh great and now it's raining" and were those shining spots tears?

"Care to enlighten me of what this ruckus is about?" Astra pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed, glancing after Tommy again. "That lad there was getting harassed by-" She saw Chatterface moving towards his prey again and stood up, "-that arse and I'll be damned if he does it again." Her voice, much like her righteous anger, seethed from her in a pool.

But suddenly Justin was walking back, followed by the dark irises belonging to his newest enemy.

Astra's jaw tightened. "I can't believe Tommy would just take that blatant bullying." She hated bullies. With good reason. She'd been bullied. But she had fought back with the spite that practically defined her very existence. Spite against the utter defeat of failure. Tommy just... just took it like it was normal. Horror and sadness struck her when she realized it likely was.

She sat down again, massaging her temple with one hand. So, so much had happened already in the race. "Care to sit? Hopefully we'll have peaceful viewing for a while."

Tommy needs some time, I think. He seemed so overwhelmed. Maybe I can catch him after the race.

Almost dead yesterday, maybe dead tomorrow, but alive, gloriously alive today

Everything moved quickly for Aleksandra. From the multitude of voices.

From the rather obnoxious loud Ravenclaw being followed by their friend. From the young first year Slytherin waking away in tears. To the ginger haired girl offering a seat to Aleksandra.

The young girl rubbed her temples thinking. Sitting would be rather nice just to watch the game.

But from the corner of her eyes the young girl notice the rather obnoxious Ravenclaw boy toss a handkerchief at the young first year Slytherin boy.

A small bubble of anger filled inside the girls stomach clenching her fists.

Glancing towards the ginger haired girl Aleksandra kept a straight face anger still clear on her face giving the young girl a slight nod.

“I will gladly take that seat. But I must check on the other boy real quick. Please forgive me. I will return. After all you seem less obnoxious than the lot that just left.”

Aleksandra spoke softly before walking towards the Slytherin first year.

Aleksandra felt off more of a sense of wanting to make sure the boy was okay but at the same time the young girl was rather furious with the obnoxious Ravenclaw child.

The platinum blonde haired girl walked towards the first year Slytherin boy noticing an older student standing near them.

Aleksandra nodded softly towards the older student as the young girl. Knelt down in front of the Slytherin boy.

Quietly she used the sleeve of her robes to wipe the young boys tears. Her gray eyes though stone cold and full of no emotions seemed to soften.

Quietly the young girl grabbed the handkerchief that the Ravenclaw boy tossed at the young Slytherin first year.

Standing up quietly Aleksandra looked down towards the boy. Clenching the handkerchief in anger.

“Please excuse me while I return this to that arse of a Ravenclaw.”

Aleksandra spoke rather softly, her Scottish accent soft and feathery.

Turning on her heels the young girl knew what to do.

Figuring she will check on the Slytherin boy later. But first thing first to kindly hand this handkerchief back to the said loud Ravenclaw.

Aleksandra made her way towards the rather obnoxious rather large ego boy. Silently Aleksandra tossed the handkerchief back towards the boy.

With no words, no explanation. Aleksandra continued to walk off making her way back to the ginger haired girl.

Now how this rest of this day goes hopefully better, because Aleksandra was already prepared to take matters in her own hands.

The platinum blonde haired girl made her way back to the ginger haired girl plopping down beside her leaning her head back staring up at the sky with scowl on her face.

“Please explain to me why the first years seem to be bloody idiots. No offense. I suppose you are nice after all.”

Aleksandra spoke out loud in her soft feathery Scottish accent.

Glancing over at the ginger haired girl. Aleksandra sat up straight reaching out her hand.

“Aleks. Aleks FairBairn. I am afraid I don’t remember your name very well. I apologize greatly.”

Aleksandra spoke softly once again awaiting for the ginger haired girls response.

Even though Aleksandra had to admit she may have sounded rude but alas that was just her personality. Take the good with the bad she supposed.

"Throw me to the wolves, and I'll come back leading the pack,"
Brooke nodded to Justin. She watched the race again. Brooke saw a platinum blonde girl walking to the Tommy and the girl who had told her and Justin to leave. Which Brooke didn’t blame her the slightest bit, she and Justin were loud, and they shouldn’t have done that. But its done and over with.

❀ ❀ ❀

As Brooke watched the game, she felt a small tap on her shoulder. It was Justin. He just made a complete lie. Brooke knew he wasn’t, from where he headed, Justin was gonna apologize to Tommy. He was. “Stop lying! ” She muttered, so soft only herself would hear.

Although Brooke couldn’t hear anything the two very different boys conversed, if they swapped words at all, she did not know. Justin had thrown his handkerchief onto the Slytherin boy’s lap. Justin was speaking but not Tommy. She wondered why. Then it clicked. Was Justin calling Tommy a name? She wondered if Justin would stoop so low to do this? Especially when there was professors and kids around? Maybe.

Brooke jerked her gaze back to the game. Now that it was raining, she realized that she should have worn a robe instead of a blue Jean jacket. She covered her hair up with her hands. Frick, I hate the rain, she thought, watching the game once more, watching how fast the brooms went.

When Justin came back she would reply with scarcasm, “Finally came to your senses? ”

The next moments were a blur. Tommy didn't really hear what Justin said to him. He gave him a cloth. Was this a nice thing or taunting him? Tommy was used to tuning out his surroundings when he became overwhelmed due to the chronic bullying he suffered earlier.

Tommy felt his tears wiped away by his fellow first-year student Aleks. It was nice to be comforted by someone who wasn't his mother. Aleks really was a kind girl. Before he could thank her, she had left, but Tommy would remember this moment.

Tommy's voice was still caught in his throat. He coughed when he tried to talk. Tommy looked up to Dori, speaking to them. His tears had stopped flowing, but snot was still dripping from his nose. Tommy was happy to see his only friend Dori standing above him. He knew he could depend on them and he felt like a weight had been lifted off his chest. He could breathe a little better.

Tommy took a few deep breaths, trying to regain his composure. He tried to speak, but words wouldn't come out. His throat was full of phlegm. He choked, making him cough and clear his throat. "Dori I don't know where to begin." Tommy feared when he started talking he would not be able to stop.

Ultimately, the sense of comfort Dori's presence alone provided crumpled any hesitation Tommy would have. He could not bring himself to lie to his one and only friend and began spewing the truth, nothing but the entire truth of the day's events.

"It all started the other day, I lied to June Selwyn about being a Seer and told her if she trained me in quidditch to be a chaser then Slytherin's losing streak would stop. Then I came here and a Ravenclaw boy I met in the Great Hall, Justin Shin" Tommy said pointing across the arena to the boy sitting with his friend "Came over and started bullying me after I told him I was worried about the match results, then his friend joined in and I had to be saved by another Slytherin student and then" Tommy's voice cracked as he began to cry again "And then Aleks came over and pointed out that we were causing a scene and distracting the other spectators from the race and it's all my fault!"

Tommy thought to himself, why is it every time he sees Dori he is a mess? The upper year Hufflepuff student must think Tommy is a child who can barely take care of himself and wonder how he has managed to stay alive at all. Tommy took some deep breaths and tried to calm himself.

"Dori, I'm sorry if I let you down by lying and causing all this drama but I promise you I didn't intend to lie for anything bad, I just wanted to help bolster my team's captain's spirits and make the team believe in themselves. I just want to be known for being someone in Slytherin and make friends" . His voice trailed off as he became to speak softly "You're my first and only friend and I don't want to let you down".

Tommy felt a lot better after getting everything off his chest. He knew he could always depend on Dori. Although he would have to wait for the their reply, Tommy trusted that no matter what they said or did next, it would only make the day better. Tommy realized then that he was smiling. "Maybe we should head back to the Slytherin section" Tommy asked Dori while pointing to two Slytherin students, one with platinum blonde hair and the other with red hair.

Justin tossed his robe at Brooke's lap so she could put it over her head to stay dry. As he sat down Brooke said a few words.
“Finally came to your senses?”
The boy subtly side-eyed his Ravenclaw friend in friendly annoyance. "You calling me crazy?" Justin started off saying. Then his face completely turned nonchalant and relaxed to its normal self. "Yeah, you're not completely wrong. There's a couple screws loose in there, but hey... At least I'm self-aware," Justin began laughing out loud.

He then noticed Aleks walking away. She looks familiar, Justin said to himself.

Suddenly from the corner of his eye he saw his handkerchief on the ground. "Oh?" Did I bring two? Must have fell out when I gave my robe to Brooke Justin shrugged as he put it in his jean pocket.

Justin took a glance at Brooke again. Once again, flashback Brooke began playing in Justin's head.
"Justin, just be yourself around me, k? We’re friends right?"
Justin side-eyed Brooke again before letting out a sigh.

"I might have felt... a little bad for making him cry... and apologized," Justin admitted to Brooke. "Why'd he start a fight if he can't finish one," Justin mumbled to himself. He then had a feeling Brooke would be glaring at him again so he quickly added, "I gotta work on my temper though for sure..."

Dori took a seat next to Tommy. The race faded to the farthest corner of their mind as they bodyguarded this perfect first year. Well- one of the only first years that they knew at this point, besides a delightful Ravenclaw named Rebecca.

Honestly- Dori couldn't remember being this stressed in first year. All of their energy had gone into schooling and trying to convince Elsi that their muggle magic was real and well- now they were dating. So, they didn't know what that would indicate for Tommy right now, but surely less stress in the future.

Dori's hand came up to gently rub Tommy's back, something that their mum would do in their times home from Hogwarts and venting about all that would stress the poor Hufflepuff out (including almost impending death but the amount of that had decreased). They nodded, fully attentive as the broom race- well, raced on. Their eyes followed the point to a Ravenclaw across the arena before returning. "Do you want me to hex him? I can hex him." They were once hexed by older year, all is fair in love and wizardry or something.

After his apology, Dori pulled him into a tight hug. "You don't need to apologize to me. You haven't let me down." They pulled away, a sweet smile on their face. "I have done some shit in my years. We all have. Trust me. I yelled at my now boyfriend in first year in the Small Hall. I shook a book at him and demanded he listen to me. Another time I got involved in some ball drama that I didn't understand and honestly ruined one of my friendships, but now we're friends again. What else... I set my future ex-boyfriend on fire in the basement of Hufflepuff as we fought darkness and he still has the scar. Though- he scarred my heart so we're even. Don't be so hard on yourself."

They ruffled his hair. "You're so small! You have a whole future of mistakes to make that will be a-okay. But yeah, let's go join the other section. I can be your emotional support dog if you want, I can be a golden retriever which I've heard is very soothing. Or I can hex people. You give me the word, I have spells that will make them cry for a week." They stood up, waiting for him to get moving before following him wherever he wanted to go. As they walked behind him they would attempt to exude 'Don't fuck with him' energy that came with being a fifth year with an endless amount of spells compared to the first years that seemed to be causing Tommy issues.

A hex on the boy... Tommy thought about this. He wasn't good at magic; he was decently strong and could take a hit as well as avoid one. As far as magic went, he was pretty inept. Dori was an upper year. They probably knew some seriously powerful spells. Tommy had always been the victim of bullying and never had anyone stand up for him until today. Now he had two different people standing up for him.

He knew from personal experience that if you let a bully get away with it they're unlikely to ever stop. Hogwarts was meant to be a fresh start, not a repeat of his home life with other children torturing him. If Dori offered to hex the boy, it must be the right thing to do. How could he ever question his best friend's ideas?

"Can you be my emotional support dog AND hex him?" Honestly, Dori was already an emotional support human to Tommy. Tommy was already smiling again, but he really did want to see the boy get hexed, with the most painful, long lasting, and unpleasant hex that his best friend knew. In his mind, bullies had no place in Hogwarts. If it wasn't for his potions partner, Rebecca Lark, he would have a rather unfavourable view of students from Ravenclaw. Lucky for him, he had met her prior to this interaction.

On that day, Justin Shin became a stain on not only the Ravenclaw house but also on all of Hogwarts. A bully who is only nice when others tell them to stop is truly a coward. Tommy decided he would never be bullied again. One way or another, he would deal with any future bullies he came across. Alone or with the help of Dori or his mentors.

ᨒ Slytherin v. Ravenclaw Broom Race, May 6th in the Outdoor Club Area, Hogwarts ᨒ
Dialogue #828e57

A feminine voice echoed into the loudspeaker announcing the start of the race, and a cacophony of howls of merriment, jeers, and groans rattled her ears with each purposeful step approaching the wooded bleachers posted at the starting line.

During her jaunt from the brambles of the Herbology classroom to the distant Outdoor Club, Sarai often directed her gunmetal gaze upwards upon the angrily whipping flags of blue and green hues. The witch knew well that this race was not one to miss; the Slytherin sporting teams were unyielding and starving for a win, but even the Castelobruxo alumni recognized not to underestimate a determined Ravenclaw. Not only were racers highly competitive, but a palpable charge of house pride lingered within the air from the mere spectators alone. The clamor of onlookers drove Sarai to reminisce her teenage years of dueling and spectating her fellow classmates, though this aching memory would propel the Haitian woman's wandering mind upon her sons and how they would fare in Quidditch: Alphonse, a first-string Chaser, and Briar, a second-string Seeker; the woman longingly awaited for the year to end and readied herself for the engrossing tales they'd bring home with them.

The woman steadied herself against a wooden post that supported the wooden bleachers, veiled from sight so as not to disturb the race's viewers above. Sarai took a moment to breathe, soothe her turbulent thoughts, and enjoy the race, yet none of the three would transpire as a disturbance rattled throughout the bleachers. The resonations voices were muffled to her ears, though Sarai would be a fool to misconstrue the echos of flaring tempers from the students above; few voices weren't as recognizable while others remained familiar - mostly that of the seraphic Scottish tone of @Aleksandra FairBairn and the fiery @Astra Norrick.

Perhaps it was her negligence, uncaring, or lack of proficiency in her newfangled role as a Professor, but the Haitian witch's feet remained planted on the ground despite the commotion as she surreptitiously eavesdropped upon the crowd. To her, they were young adults who could settle their own affairs, and the woman trusted her students to call upon her if she was required. And if not she, then someone they trusted as 'turmoil wrought trust and comradery,' at least so Sarai often advised and imparted her sons and students.

It was not until the word 'hex' found her ear that the Professor made her move, though unsuspecting who would be hexing who, if at all.

With careful and numinous grace, Sarai trod past a pair of Ravenclaws; the woman offered a curt nod to the girl (@Brookline Quinn) yet raised a brow at the boy she sat with (@Justin Shin) as he burst into a fit of laughter. Her steely gaze caught sight of a handkerchief that he swiftly would nab and stuff into his pocket, "Moun sal (he's unwell)," Sarai murmured under her breath to Justin indirectly, "Ak yon pitit mal leve (and a badly raised child)."

Hogwarts students were a bizarre breed, or perhaps it was just this one (Justin).

Taking a seat between respective sects of Snakes and Ravens, the sibylline woman crossed her legs, smoothed the wrinkles on her maroon dress, and scanned the bleachers; thankfully, it appeared the dramatics ceased just as quickly as they arose. A once-over of each student would allow Sarai to become privy to the young Slytherin being comforted by the kind, older Hufflepuff, allowing the Haitian woman to gather and construct context clues. It appeared that the Ravenclaw boy was the perpetrator, the Slytherin boy was a victim, and the Hufflepuff (@Dorion Anderson) and fellow Slytherins were the voices of reason. It would be the Hufflepuff, Dorian, that uttered about hexes to the Slytherin, Tommy, but rather than initiating discipline, the Professor would only crack a thin smile and sit in silence.

Taking a look at the Ravenclaw boy, the woman leaned back and towards @Tommy Patterson and Dorian: "It is very strange...I saw him with a snot-rag...a hankie? I think he is hiding de fact he mourns de attention he did not receive," she began in a whisper, "Ti gason fèb — little weak boys — tend to do that, be that way."
