Magical Masquerade: The entrance
Interact with: Open (future with @Danielle Alden)
Mari was very unsure whether or not she would go to the ball, she had already saved a dress since the beginning of her second year, which she wanted to wear to a masquerade ball, but initially she didn't feel like going, but after much consideration she finally She decided she would give the dance a chance, but she would go alone, at least if she wanted to leave in the middle she wouldn't have to answer to anyone.
She starts to get ready a few minutes before the start of the dance, which would certainly mean that Mari arrives a little later, she wears her dress, already stored for a few months, and some accessories, given by her parents, or bought by her . , he did a hairstyle that she loved, it was very simple, but it really suited her.
After getting ready, she looks at herself for the last time in the mirror, "ok... it's great, let's go" She says muttering, she wasn't super excited but she already wanted to go.
Although (as always) she was undecided where to go, she decided to go to the part of the entrance where they were supposed to find the keys, she always liked a good riddle, and it was nice to be able to live without any partner.
She walks down the corridor, looking at the time and seeing that she was already a few minutes late, then carefully picks up a part of her dress that was dragging slightly on the floor and begins to walk a little faster towards the Quidditch practice field, where it was. the entrance to the dance
Once there, she looked around, seeing how beautiful she looked, she gave a slight smile so as not to seem too surprised, but she had to praise whoever prepared it, it was really beautiful!
Upon receiving the first clue, Mari reads below,
This is your last chance,
The key to the dance.
In Florence I am fleur-de-lis.
A vibrant sight never to miss.
Mari reads it and immediately looks around seeing what she was looking for, she had the idea that it was a lily "I really hope I'm not wrong" - she thought, Mari was almost completely sure that the fleur-de-lis was the representation of the lily.
She looked around and saw that many people were heading towards the lily "Yep...it's the lily!" She thought as she quickly headed there, showing no mercy for the dress.

Linda met his eyes and held them. Then she said his name. He savored the moment—put it in his back pocket to save for later in case he royally messed up with her. But he made a pledge to play it cool, keep calm, be bold. That's how he had lived his life so far, and these feelings in his stomach would not stop him.
The first obstacle: she asked about his mask. He started doing the mental calculus—do girls like wrestling? Do girls want to her him talk about wrestling? What if she asked him directly? Wait she might not be familiar with the muggle world at all. That might be preferred; she would come to the table with no baggage. He put his hands up to his mask again. "Yes, I made it. I'm a big fan of American wrestling—the muggle sport. I was thinking of all the fun colors of their costumes and it was a bit inspiring." Nice, give her that artiste vibe. "Are you familiar? My dad's a muggle."
Then came his first win: She reacted well to his compliment. Okay, Quentin, keep it up, stay smooth.
Then she explained what year she was in and her Hogwarts house. Gryffindor. Quentin started to panic, which one was that? The blue one? The one with the snake? Would it be bad if he didn't know? "Gryffindor? Oh yeah, I'd say that seems to be the coolest one. I'm in my third year. We don't have houses or anything like that, where we sort by personality. Seems fun though. Er, well, I mean if you like it? Do you like your house? Do you, uh, feel it's the right fit?" Okay not his best work.
The crowd started to move around them. A clue had been found. So it was the roses. How weird. Maybe the organizers weren't very good at riddles themselves. Or maybe his new friend was more keen than he was—like she was playing four-dimensional chess with these riddles. With the next set, he would have to think like her and follow her lead. But then voracious students found a couple more clues awfully quick. They weren't keeping up, but Quentin found it wonderful to just be next to Linda and asking her things.
With the final clue announced, he asked, "Any guesses?"

════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════Reuben noticed Zophyr waving at him and waved back. She (at least Zophyr fel like a she? He was never sure) looked really beautiful (or handsome, or just attractive. Again, he had no idea) and if Reuben was not waiting for someone else, he would have approached her.
He heard her voice before he saw her. He could recognize it anywhere. Grinning, he turned to look at her. And he kept looking. Lorelai was... a goddess. She looked so beautiful and Reuben's mind went completely blank. He didn't hear what she said except the fact that she was apologizing for something? What had she done to apologize? She also suggested searching together, and Reuben nodded barely.
He should say it, because if he held back for any more time, it was going to kill him, and Lorelai saying no was better than him wondering whether or not she would say yes. The prospect of saying anything scared him, though. Normally, he was very open with his emotions. But this, this was something else entirely. What if Lorelai started hating him? He knew it would be better than him having feelings for her and not saying anything forever, but somehow, convincing himself was a lot harder that it sounded. He knew that these feelings would only increase. Reuben took a deep breath. This was going to be okay. It had to be, otherwise, Reuben was probably going to run away from the ball.
"Hi Lorelai...",, he started, "I-I know that you are probably going to run away from me or st-stop being my friend after this, b-but I really wanted you to know h-how I actually f-feel...", he stuttered. This was going to be okay. This was going to be okay. The thought kept repeating itself in his head.
"Ireallyreallylikeyouandhaveahugecrushonyouandifyoudon'thavethesamefeelings, that'stotallyfinetoo, butIreallywishyoudo." I really really like you and have a huge crush on you and if you don't have the same feelings, that's totally fine too, but I really wish you do., he managed to say, the words barely legible. He fiddled a bit and then shook his head.
The howler announced the next clue. "You know what, just ignore whatever I said. Let's just search for the key. Fleur-de-lis is definitely a lily.", he said. If Lorelai did not want to speak about his confession and acted like it never happened, he would do the same, but if she did... He did not know what he would do then. He walked towards the lilies, avoiding any eye contact with Lorelai.

"4:30 PM!" He exclaimed as he quickly shut his notebook and rushed to get ready. An hour later he was finally ready to go to the magical masquerade. He wasn't usually one to go to large parties, but he thought he could be a bit more social and thought he could give it a go. He rushed down the courtyard and out to the quidditch training pitch, almost tripping on the dark blue cloak of his blackbird themed outfit. It didn't exactly look like a blackbird, but Anthony loved it nonetheless. He had it made for him by a fellow Ravenclaw, and he wanted to use it to the fullest of his abilities, however that didn't exactly seem to be going his way at the moment.
He arrived at the quidditch training pitch, with all its decoration shining in the sunset that was soon arriving. "I can't believe I'm going to be late." He said to himself, quite disappointed in himself for not keeping track of the time. He saw the sea of people, all socializing with one another. Anthony saw some new faces, and a couple of old ones that he had seen before. He felt a little uncomfortable which was quickly washed away with a warmth emanating from the pocket in which his wand was located. He always found it helpful in these sorts of situations, which he wasn't usually good in.
He entered the sea of students, "I hope I made it in time for some of the activities." He thought to himself. "Nevertheless, In I go..."

Magical Masquerade: The entrance
Isleen spent nearly the entire day getting ready.
After classes, she went straight to her dorm where she curled her hair, pinned it up, finished stitching tulle flowers to her dress, and put the finishing shine on her masquerade mask.
Isleen had been to many parties before - in her case being the daughter of an ancient, wealthy Pureblood family also meant going to seasonal galas - but never had she been to a masquerade before.
She tied the knot of her mask delicately behind her head, careful to not pinch her hair. Slipping on plain black flats, she looked herself over in the mirror, taking in her carefully done hair and the flowy skirt of her dress.
She nodded to herself, proud of her handiwork. She exited her dorm room and made her way to the Quidditch Training Pitch. She strode across the grounds of Hogwarts, the light breeze flitting gently through her long hair.
Arriving, she heard the loud shout of a howler, announcing what seemed to be a clue to get inside the party.
This is your last chance,
The key to the dance.
In Florence I am fleur-de-lis.
A vibrant sight never to miss.
She looked around, gauging the reaction of the well-dressed students.
Isleen paused for a second to admire the scenery. The setting of the entrance was beautiful. The trees made archways like a tunnel, and the various flowers blossoming around the scene and on the trees seemed to shimmer just as brightly as the strung-up fairy lights.
Even the birds honoured the beauty with their songs.STATS:

Magical Masquerade: The entrance

Though Aly couldn't entirely see Peri's expression under that horned, celestial mask, she could hear quite plainly the fondness in his tone, and she gave up on her futile attempt on pearlbush-searching to turn back to him with a grin. He was smiling, too, now, and that only made Aly feel more comfortable. Her fellow Ravenclaw fifth-year was certainly a strange creature, an almost ghostlike boy himself who could oft be found in such company, but Aly had never once felt any sort of uncomfortable around him. Peri was familiar, in that way, and she adored him for it. "Astronomically accurate indeed - at least, I think it is. Here's Orion, for reference," she explained, pointing to her right hip. "It was my grandmother's, so I'm pretty sure she did all of the spellwork." Eyeing him up and down, appreciating his well-put-together ensemble of silver and feathers, she added, "You don't look so shabby yourself. Ah, but you always did know how to dress, Peri."
Casting one more pointless and mildly vexed glance at the nearby pearlbush, she turned fully away from it, though one corner of her full lips turned up warmly at her smaller companion's antics. Bex was always full of energy on or off the pitch, it seemed. Just as the elder opened her mouth to reply, however, another riddle was shouted nearby, signaling that what seemed to be the final clue had been found, thank Merlin. "Well - yes, but it seems that everyone else is having better luck than the pair of us," Aly admitted, somewhat sheepishly, accompanying her words with a wry chuckle. "But I do love the floral riddle idea. Finally, studying all those flowers a few years ago is coming in handy. That next riddle has to be lilies, by the way," she added, directing that last sentence more to Bex in the bushes. It was an obvious answer, as there was no other flower that went by the name of the fleur-de-lis nor had its quite iconic shape.
Before she could actually move to search for a lily, however, time seemed to slow, or perhaps the heavens themselves (in which Aly was clothed) paused in their wild spinning for just the barest of moments. Everything so brilliant surrounding her - the glimmering dresses of her peers, the glints of goalposts just out of reach on the other side of the overgrown jewel-toned greenery and flora, even the lazy golden rays of the midafternoon sun - dimmed in comparison as the crowds parted, a stately figure floating gracefully into view, a vision in gold and beading. Just for a fraction of a second, between the ticks of the clock, Aly wondered if perhaps the sun herself had come down to the earth to grace them with her presence.
But no, the sun did not have such wonderfully vibrant curls of scarlet so elegantly pinned back, nor a deft touch with a refined amount of makeup that walked a fine line between perfect for their age and making her seem perhaps a year or two Aly's elder. The sun would not waltz forward with such dignified sophistication, as if she owned every blade of grass crushed beneath her gentle feet - and that was if she was walking at all, the way the girl seemed to float over with her chin held high. Aly could have sworn that people practically bowed out of her way.
For a moment, the sun and the stars locked eyes, and time was definitely slowing, because Aly's heart seemed to beat just a little more quickly inside her chest, which could not be her fault of course and therefore had to be Mother Time's acknowledgement of her own mea culpa. The teenage Ravenclaw, vain as ever and one of her House's most active critics of the everyday fashion of the academy, was simply blown away by the way gold fabric draped so softly over the approaching girl's figure and fell in a lightening ombré and flattering A-line towards the ground, the manner in which dangling amber earrings swayed gently back and forth as she drew ever closer, the hint of slender arms beneath stylish mesh sleeves that clasped delicately at equally slender wrists. Like Aly's, the sun's gown had a high lace neck and a more open area showing off pale collarbones, though the mesh on the Ravenclaw's upper chest was a bit darker, more grey. And, of course, there was the mask - ornamented with delicate filigree work and fit perfectly to her face, a matching shade of shimmering gold that complimented a sloping nose and full, tinted lips, as well as brought out shadowed, searching grey eyes underneath. No, not searching - studious. A shiver crept up Aly's spine, for the stunning redhead was nothing short of intimidating - like she was a queen admiring her subjects, or - no, better. A predator on the hunt.
The girl cemented her command of the room, or at least of Aly's attention, moments later with her lilting voice, a wry compliment in Peri's direction. And then in hers, though it took Aly a moment to realise that such a creature could possibly have acknowledged her presence, despite the fact that the girl was indeed gazing right at her. Perhaps the pale, freckled skin of her cheeks flushed red with warmth, though that also could have been explained by the presence of a sun directly in front of her, giving off heat.
"And now it seems we have a sun to match," she joked with a light chuckle, though she immediately regretted how dorky it must have seemed and cleared her throat in an attempt to seem less like a fifteen-year-old nerd and more of this "exceptionally handsome" business. Pulling herself up to her full height and trying to match the girl's ramrod-straight posture, Aly offered her a small, yet no less bewitching, smile. "It was a complete accident, really. I had no idea he'd be the moon."
It was only then, now that she was somewhat closer to the girl, that Aly recognised her. Of course - the scarlet hair, the pale skin, the quiet yet refined demeanor. It was that Gryffindor, the redhead she'd seen around and in classes and on the Quidditch pitch - and more recently, more often, for some unknown reason. Aly was quite sure that the girl in front of her had attended the astronomy faire the week prior, and her name was just on the tip of her tongue. Eve. No - something longer. Evelyn, maybe. Or was it spelled with two N's?
Hoping, or perhaps praying though it seemed that all of the heavens were down here instead of up there and henceforth not worth the silent wishes, that she wasn't about to call someone by the wrong name entirely, Aly tilted her head and gazed green-eyed up at the Gryffindor. Her smile widening, turning on the Charm, she batted her eyelashes and took a wild stab at the name, adding a compliment just in case she was a bit off (and also because the vision in gold in front of her definitively deserved it, anyway): "It's Evelynn, isn't it? Well, have you seen yourself recently? You look just lovely - and that is definitely your colour, if I may say so."
Searching around in the lilies could wait. There was something far more interesting in front of her now, though Aly couldn't quite tell why she was so entranced. Perhaps it was the idea of three fifth-years, all dressed as celestial wonders, capturing the crowd's eyes and hearts as one; yes, that had to be it. Nothing more.

RPing as Zophyr Qethnis from Uagadou Genderfluid, pronouns at the moment: she/her☽ Kirundi | French | English | Swahili | Arabic | Tswana | Xhosa ☾The boy Zophyr had approached had been looking out towards the ball's antics, so it didn't come as much of a shock when he jumped in surprise at her arrival, especially since she was known to be quiet and lurk without being perceived, though it still brought on a half-grin from the thirteen-year old. There were a few moments as the boy just stood there, looking at her, but he thankfully saved himself too much embarrassment (Zophyr herself was immune to embarrassment, so it was up to him) by pointing out how she was like a dragon.

Mentioning: the bees >:)
Well. That hadn't been what she was expecting at all. He looked very... formal, and unhappy to be there in the first place; she hadn't thought the first thing he'd mention would be her outfit, and certainly not in such a bewildered, blurting manner. She chuckled - "Yes, that was the hope." After a pause: "And you are... a wolf? A fox?"
An even better surprise was that he was on the ball planning committee (though she had to admit his aversion to mud was disappointing). How immensely interesting. He was younger than her, she was quite sure by now, and she couldn't help wondering how one went about it to become a ball planner (though it was probably easier as a Hogwarts student). Especially as someone who seemed so uninterested in it all. Though that was perhaps just because he knew everything already. Zophyr gave another, slyer grin. "I see. How very lucky of you." She wasn't sure if that was exactly how he felt about it, though his smirk seemed to show he was glad to be in the know.
She took a few moments to observe the rest of the ball once more. The amount of people fitting in such a small place was impressive. Zophyr had never really minded crowds, as she slipped through them easily unnoticed and noticing everything, but this was a lot even by her standards. A bunch of angry bees joined in on the fun as well, before turning half into doves and half into... still bees, but in bubbles. "I'm guessing your committee wasn't expecting those?" she asked with a hint of lighthearted irony. A few more hints came up, though she was more interested in the boy next to her than in looking for keys.

The boy took his mask off for a moment, revealing a rather apathetic expression. He twirled it around in his fingers to look at the front. "Uhh- I guess it's a wolf." He said, in a sad realisation that he hadn't even given enough thought in the matter to decide what animal he was. When Zophyr mentioned the bees and asked if the committee had expected them, he simply half-shrugged, as if he didn't really care. It was remarkable, really, the amount of effort the boy was clearly putting into not looking like he belonged, while simultaneously appearing jumpy.
Just when the young Gryffindor had finally announced his name, he became innately distracted by something else, his head peering back and forth from one end of the ball to another. "I'm Theo," he said, not making eye contact, then continued, "Pleasure to meet-" But he frowned and interrupted himself.
"There is a teacher with a snake over there. And another one, over there!" he said frustratingly, referring to the Nurse and Librarian.
He quickly put his mask back on, as if trying to hide himself, fearing that the snakes might suddenly attack him if they looked him in the eyes. They were on the other side of the ball and clearly not aggressive, so Theo was definitely overreacting, though it did reveal that he might have a slight phobia. He stared at Zophyr with a wordless frown as if she was supposed to understand what the problem was and be mad with him.
He appeared on the brink of leaving the ball altogether and retreating to the dormitory. The presence of the serpents compounded his already existing desire to avoid being there.

She giggled when EmmaLee said about her ball partner. I'm sure you'll find each other soon. And I actually like the idea of not telling each other their outfits. Makes it all more magical to see reaction. She smiled.
Kaya realized she was the only one in the group, seemingly not interested in talking to Aurélie. However, there was nothing she wanted to ask the girl about or say to her. Kaya looked at Amber and smiled. I don't know yet, but I hope to find someone. What about you two? She asked Amber and Aurélie, since it was quite obvious about EmmaLee.
After saying all that, she started to look through the lilies. She didn't expect herself finding anything, but still was searching for it nonetheless. Luckily lilies were not as damage threatening as roses were, and Kaya was happy she had all chances to still have her outfit and herself without any damage. Her adventurous side of character was getting really tired and bored of all the searching that she didn't plan for. Although, she had to admit, this was unique beginning of ball.
