When Bloom got hit by the Whomping Willow, little did she know that she was losing time. Did seconds pass by? Minutes? Perhaps she had a concussion and was unsure of how long she blacked out for. Whatever it was, she was back in the zone and needed to keep going. Bloom tried her hardest to get out of the unit she had been stuck in for quite some time.

Nothing felt better than being back in the air. Darting alongside a few racers, she held her breath and veered to the right of them, anticipating one of the birds to take another swing at her. None would budge, thankfully, as they seemed more set on catching up with the rest of their flock. They were nearing a point in the race where every action counted; and one miscalculation could very well be detrimental to their success. They had secured a good lead by the looks of things, but one wrong move would set them back if they weren't careful. Ravenclaw weren't the only ones with time on the line; Gryffindor had to be just as wise with their risks too.

A surge of camaraderie hit Xailah as she eventually found herself briefly by Linda and Ying's side. "Ying!" The lioness cupped one hand by her mouth. "For a moment it almost looked as if I would never catch up to you!" She called to the cub, before her vision was obscured with wet sleet and thin flakes of ice. Dragging the palm of her gloves across her goggles, she cleared her view. Clear sights did little to numb the sudden bite of cold, though. Hunkering close to her broom, she fought against the freezing wind until she felt Jack Frost's temper come to an end.

Again, Alyssea really hoped that would be the end of people hitting the ground. But nope. Maybe it was Ravenclaw's karma for knocking almost the entirety of Gryffindor to the ground earlier. With one bird back in the air, another fell to take its place and it was none other than Clair Fernandez.

Alyssea still clapped at Linda's successful spell. "These attacks are brutal from Gryffindor! Seems we're punishing Ravenclaw for such an aggressive play. How will Ravenclaw ever recover?"

Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't. It was only a matter of time with Julia right at the front. That is, if she managed to make it out of the maze.

Alyssea winced for the umpteenth time as Bloom was swung to the ground by the willow's branches. "Oh gosh, the willow did not come to play today! Diaz is looking awfully green- hopefully he'll be okay."

Kyle looked very close to passing out with how bruised he was. At least, in comparison to his classmates, he looked the worst. When Alyssea was given the option to add this to her track, she didn't realise just how much damage the thing would do.

Alyssea looked at the distance between the maze's exit and the finish line. So close, so so close. It was only a matter of luck before someone could escape the winding paths and find freedom and victory on the other side.

And sure enough, Della was the one to grasp it.

Upon seeing the blonde girl's appearance from the maze's exit, Alyssea cheered. "Look at that, everyone! Captain Barfield is the first to exit the maze. And the finish line is within sight!"

Paige looked around, frightened. Her surroundings consisted of walls. Walls only. In every direction. North, East, South, West. It was as if there was no end. This maze could very well be the last thing the Ravenclaw ever saw. Except that wasn't what frightened her most. She was scared mostly due to the fact that Gryffindor Team was close to the finish line. Her very first race couldn't end with her team losing. It just couldn't!

Julia's breaths came out in white puffs as she tried to escape the maze. She heard others entering the maze, but couldn't tell who it was- praying that they were lions though. She managed to draw in a breath, and call out a, "Go lions!" in an attempt to encourage her teammates, hoping she would find her way out soon.

Linda decided to try to cast a spell at Kyle again and this time she didn't miss. That was somehow a good feeling as she moved on the racing path a bit more.

Passing the Whomping Willow was making some damage to her, but luckily she could still be alright. And maybe someone of her teammates will soon reach the finish.

"DANNAZIONE! DAMN!" Kyle swore in his native tongue as he was knocked back by one of the rivaling team members, Linda Ramirez. And they call me rude. Kyle thought to himself as he tried to rub off some of the pain. Kyle was relieved as he began to regain feeling his fingertips, previously being numbed from the snowfall. After the Whomping Willow he accidentally smashed into a couple trees, it hurt but nothing too major... At least he tried to make it seem, if he was being honest he was close to crying, but he choked back the tears he couldn't afford frozen eyes or worsened vision right now! He had to take his mind off the pain and realize the drive for competition was stronger!

If salt water heals all wounds I shall live by ocean forever I presume.

Third time was a charm, right? Bloom was ready to try and leave the area when BAM! the whomping Willow bashed Bloom right to the ground. Although she was not knocked off her broom, she was definitely feeling the soreness of the smack of the heavy, wooden branch of the tree. For a moment, there was a ringing sound in Bloom's ears from the smack. She felt a little dizzy, but she kept going. Her breathing was beginning to get heavier as she was holding for dear life her Pine Chopper. She needed to get out of his unit and fast.

Clair frowned as she landed hard on her butt. It was alright for her to blanch others, but somehow it felt super wrong for others to blanch her. Call her a bad sport, but Clair didn’t like to loose, and therefore she didn’t like anything that helped her or her team to loose.

Slush clung to her goggles, like barnacles on a ships belly. What didn't catch on the lenses lapped heatedly at her nose and lips, revealing the gentle hues of rose that hid beneath her moon-touched complexion. She bit her bottom lip in search of temporary relief from the kisses the cold bestowed; but soon found it only strengthened the biting chill once her mouth relaxed again. A temporary trouble was all it was- she wouldn't let it bother her; especially when she had a eagle lined up in her crosshairs, who was none the wiser.

Clair was a sweet girl- a stranger, for the most part to Xailah, but nice nonetheless. That said, the eaglet could blame Aurora for the fate that would befall her- because Xailah was out for blood. Getting blatched once was one thing- but twice in a row? Miss Ranvier had marked her team for vengeance. She spied an opening past the Whomping Willow (at which, Xailah thanked her lucky stars she was not Bloom); a small blind spot to the right of Clair. The lioness was quick and quiet (as quiet as she could be in a race), and sent Delta's tapered end right into the body of the bird's own broom, knocking her from the Silver Arrow completely. Like a thief in the night, she was there one minute and gone the next.
