There was so no way Julia was far out the front. Her and one of the Ravenclaw racers were zooming through the course, and she hadn't toppled off her broom- yet. The Gryffindor team was recovering, and almost everyone was back on their brooms. Julia beathed to calm herself, and kept going.

Xailah would remount her broom, throwing her legs over Delta to sit sidesaddle while she shimmied herself into a more comfortable position. When she thought she had a good grip again, she swung one leg completely over the broomstick so she could assume a slightly more stable stance than the ones she had been assuming before her second tumble from the sky. Leaning into the broomstick, she rose into the chilly damp air once more. Hopefully, it would be the last time she would have to do that during this race, but maybe that was just wishful thinking. If Aurora had the gall to knock her down a second time, why not a third too?

Gah- speaking of getting knocked down- she could feel her flesh grow warm where body had made impact with the ground. Bruises would be forming on those tender spots soon, but she could ignore the oddly numb sensation for now; from fractures, to stabbings, to cuts, it was safe to say she had suffered far worse injuries- a pancake-sized bruise wasn't going to take her out of the game, or put a break in her stride. Besides, there were much more important things for Xailah to focus on other than her state of health, such as catching her lions up ahead.

This race had taken quite a few interesting turns so far, but he was confident in the skills of his teammates. Gryffindor wouldn't go down without a fight, but hopefully the flying eagles could prevail. They'd just have to hold on a little longer...
He winced from the snow as it chilled his skin, biting at his bones. It sent a shiver through him as he tightened his grip on his broom, steeling his gaze ahead. Just a little longer...

Unlike when she went over a certain waterfall. When she looked back, some people were still behind, it was quite nice too for knowing that she wasn’t the one last behind. But this wouldn’t get over her head. As some people said, if it were too calm, a storm is coming.
