Beatrice smiled at the little girl after she had caller her Miss Prefect, trying to hide her inner panic but failing tremendously. A not so faint blush spread across her cheeks and she had to clear her throat, pushing a strand of hair back behind her ear mindlessly. Beatrice was not used to being called that and quite honestly did not expect anyone to do that. She looked out the window for just a second, hoping the blush would go down before she turned back and agreed with Ying. „Oh yes, I am sure you would make a great addition to Gryffindor. Ravenclaw is a very nice house too, surely an amazing choice as well.” Beatrice shifted in her seat slightly, eyeing the boy next to Colin. Seriously, who was that? She could not recall Colin having a twin or ever seeing someone that looked so much like the older Slytherin boy. She then turned her attention back to Ciarán. „You know,” she started „Slytherin would also be happy to have you. Do you perhaps want to join one of our sports teams? You could do Duelling, or Quidditch, or both combined which would be Broom Racing. Ying can tell you more about that, I personally prefer Quidditch and am on the team myself.” Beatrice smiled again before turning her attention back to the second year plan conversation.

Her eyes widened at Lucian's words and her head jolted in his direction. She remembered those days all too well. The fight in their dorm, the blood curdling scream just a day after, the nauseating news of an attempted murder and the feeling of being unsafe where you are supposed to feel most at home in school. It had not been a fun experience for all bystanders but those who had actively been affected by it, specifically Lucian, most definitely carried the most trauma. She had seen it that night, when they sat on the common room couch together. The one thing that ripped her out of her thoughts and back into reality with her friends and acquaintance, was Ying stuttering out something about how Colin and her had met before. His little sister was quite attentive as it seemed and figured out a tension between her brother and a specific beautiful lion.

Beatrice's eyes now focused on the Gryffindor girl and the Slytherin boy. Both seemed uncomfortable but it was Ying who had all of Beatrice's attention and focus in that moment. It woke a particular feeling in her, seeing Ying so nervous and unsure. She had never seen that in the usually confident girl. Perhaps you could even say that Beatrice was worried. A feeling that she did not associate or feel with many people. She cleared her throat as it suddenly felt quite dry, desperately wishing for something to drink. „Urm..” Beatrice looked out of the window and back, „Actually, I think we just left a few minutes ago. Perhaps five or so?” She had not noticed it to be completely honest but Colin and his siblings had not been here for too long and they were still standing when the three of them arrived. „Surely it won't be a long ride though, we've got such good company.” she then said, trying to ease the mood a bit. She smiled again, which felt weird. Beatrice could not help her gaze slipping to Colin's look alike again and again. How had she not see the two of them together before?

Ciarán giggled when the dark haired boy addressed her. A brief flush came to her cheeks and she adjusted her round spectacles. Colin's eyes darted between Luci and Ci. He wondered how she would react. He leaned back into Liam's side. He reckoned the boy would drop off to sleep soon, and a nap did seem like such a nice idea right now! "Of course I know what house you're in, silly!" Ciarán said. Her voice sounded a little subdued. That was odd. "Cail has told me all about you!" Colin smiled, forgetting all about the surprise reunion with Ying from the lake!

He let his eyes half close as his sister went on. "You, sir, are none other than Lucian Michael Bauer Mornstern!" She enunciated each name crisply and clearly. "You're a second year and a Slytherin of pure blood AND Colin gushes about you almost as much as he does about Clair! Honestly, if half the things he says about you and your --- your gang are true, it's a wonder he gets any grade above a T!"

"Hey! I don't gush!" Colin interjected.

"You do, Cail, just a wee bit! It's sooo cute! But Mr Mornstern seems to be quite worthy. Also, he's much better looking in person." And as suddenly as she addressed Luci, Ciarán turned back to focus on the girls. "You know, Mari, Prefect Dupont, perhaps I should consider joining Slytherin! As bold as I'm sure our dear lioness is, it might not be a idea to keep an Eye on Cailean!"

Colin rolled his eyes. Ci was basking in the glory of so much girl company! At home, she mostly had brothers. Well, one older sister and some older girl cousins; and just this summer one new sister about her age. Colin sagged back into Liam's side. "I don't gush," Colin muttered as Ci chatted with Bea and Mari and Ying.

Liam whispered: "It's okay lad. Ye do gush. A wee bit. But you love Clair, and Mang --- er --- him. They're worthy of all your gushing."

Colin smiled as Bea practically welcomed Ci into Slytherin on the spot. "Do broom racing, Ci! It's more fun!" Colin said from the now arm in arm heap that was Colin and Liam.

"Cailean McCoire! I am not getting on one your high speed brooms! Jesus, Mary and Joseph lad! My heart breaks every time we get a letter home from school! Ma and Da don't say much to me, but every time I wonder if this letter is going to be the last! It's always 'Colin dashed his head on a tree during the race; Colin broke 16 ribs, both legs and his jaw; Colin was almost eaten by the Giant Squid; Colin ruptured his ---'" Ciarán suddenly turned redder than the upholstery! Her hands flew to her mouth! "Oof! A'm no supposed to say that kind o word!"

Colin blushed. He had hoped to keep that injury a secret!

Fortunately Ciarán caught herself! "I mean! Sorry Miss Prefect Dupont! But I've already lost one of them for a whole year! I don't want to lose the other one for aye!"

"But! Ci! Ye used to love whizzing around playing quidditch and whack-o-gnome and ---!"

Ciarán gave Colin the McCoire Stare. "Do use your brain for once in your life lad! We used to scoot around on toy brooms! And ye're racing around on professional brooms! Ma almost took ye off the team after the last race --- both teams swallowed up by an eldritch fog and mangled by sudden and unexpected forest of trees! It's like MacBeth Cail! And don't get me going on you and Liam and that daft motor car of yours!"

Ciarán seemed to calm down as the talk turned back to everyone's plans for second year. Colin watched as Ci tried to fit in with the girls. She hung on their every word, especially Bea's. Colin wondered about that. As the train rocked and the talk continued, Colin let his eyes close. Just for a moment...

The McCoire family didn’t surprise him. They were just like each other in personality and in looks. In fact, he knew they were twins, but Colin and Liam were almost carbon copies of each other. Luci wasn’t exactly in the mood to be dealing with the loud boys but he smiled anyway at their antics. If he didn’t then maybe he could lose Colin as well. That was something he couldn’t take.

They definitely spoke more than their brain could filter if Ciarán was anything to go by, the way her hands flew to her mouth as if she uttered something sacrilegious, piercing eyes immediately on Kas. Great. A genuine suck up. Oo, I’m sorry Miss Prefect. Uck. Luci had done that once with Beatrice Langstreth (how ironic that they were both Bee’s) but that had been for his own benefit. Then again, he wouldn’t put it past Colin to do that to his wanna-be bird. So whipped.

Then there was the Gryffindor.

Lucian didn’t know what to think of her, honestly. He wasn’t exactly in the right mind to make a judge on her plus they were in a train compartment with lots of loud people on the way back to school from the summer. Lucian didn’t even want to think about the surprises that appeared over summer for him.

Kas stated how they had only just left and Luci refrained from sliding down in his seat. "Why don’t we play twenty-one questions?" he suggested. "Or… the game where you think of something and the other players have to ask questions about it, but they have to be yes or no ones?" he added.

Ying never felt more grateful to someone she had just met, as at hearing Colin's little sister saying Lucian's name, changing the focus of her poor choice of trying to change the subject, even if the way she had pronounced his name made her roll her eyes, "so much pomposity". She puffed in relief looking out the window at the rapidly passing view. Scotland was beautiful, she wished one day she would be able to visit more places here, all those green and grey colors seemed to call for her adventurous spirit.

"Their gang?" Ying thought getting suddenly interested in their conversation again. She slightly raised her eyebrows eyeing the three boys with suspicion. She wouldn't be intrusive by asking her question out loud, their relationship was far from having that much trust in each other, it wouldn't be polite of her to ask "what kind of gang?", but her curiosity was biting her, leaving her with a frail hope that they would talk more about it or let some more information slip. Maybe it was nothing...maybe Ciarán was just mentioning their group of friends. But the way she said it...it seemed like she had an ulterior motive...

"I'm afraid it's not really your decision Ciarán," Ying said understandingly, she knew how much she wanted to have been able to choose last year, she was hoping she could also share her brother's house, "But I seriously hope you get what you want!" She finished picking words of encouragement, after all who was she to tell? Maybe the Hat would be more considerate to the youngest McCoire.

A laugh escaped her, finally pushing away the remaining threads of embarrassment that, until then, still wrapped around her. Liam, wherever he had been, was now very welcomed to that compartment after that whispered remark to his brother. But little McCoire seemed unstoppable with her tirade about Colin's injuries, making Ying's eyes widen at her last statement. Sending a brief glance towards Beatrice and Mari, Ying was trying to see if the other girls shared of her surprise. But it was when she locked eyes with Colin, who was blushing heavily, that she was sure her assumptions were correct. She immediately raised her hand to cover her mouth and stop the laughter that threatened to escape from her.

"That weird mist..." She then said thoughtfully, slightly nodding while her memories were coming back to her. Hearing Ci speak about it was the first time Ying had heard someone talk about what happened since that incident. It had been the scariest moment of her life. Standing there with shock taking over her as she realized she couldn't do anything to help her teammates. If before she was sure that she wanted to become a healer, this event gave her even more strength and determination to achieve that goal.

Her spiral thoughts about what happened during her first race as a captain got interrupted when Lucian finally spoke, after that long time keeping things to himself. His words acted like a gust of wind that blew away the dark cloud that seemed to be hanging over her. "That's a nice idea actually! I'm up for it if you guys want?" She asked looking to the others in the compartment. "You're right Beatrice, we're in great company!" Ying said, smiling to the beautiful Slytherin girl. And it wasn't a lie, she had the feeling that their story was just beginning and after all they were a funny group of people!

Discourse/thoughts
Mari nodded slightly while Bea stated that Slytherin would also welcome her, "yes, you'll be fine in all the houses!" Mari admitted, of course Slytherin would be more interesting... but, anyway, all the homes she would certainly welcome, that Mari could not deny.

Mari was feeling a little strange being among so many people she didn't know and it seemed like everyone, or almost everyone, knew each other, some for good and others for bad reasons, but the fact is that they knew each other, she was trying to understand the relationship they had with each other, but she often couldn't, not even realizing if it was "love or hate". She didn't have much to add to their conversation, half of it, half of it, practically everything she didn't understand what they were referring to or she wasn't called there, but on the other hand, she didn't really feel like staying silent the whole trip...

Mari gave a small laugh when she received Ying's look at Cirián's statements about her brother McCoir, she opened her eyes wide in surprise and couldn't help but let out a small laugh and then held back I'll thank Merlin when I can get me Don't laugh at the wrong times, she thought

After all that... conversation, Lucian spoke, giving the group an idea, Mari didn't really know what to answer would it be a good idea?, she asked herself, but.... why not? "For me... yes, it could be, good idea!" Mari said, looking at her other colleagues.

The mood seemed a little calmer. especially after Bea's statement, a simple game won't change that... right?

Lily McCoire had spent the first part of the train ride alone reading when she thought to get up and to look for all 4 of her dear siblings.. She pushed her book in her bag and stood up stretching before going to each compartment and peaking in. She finally found....3 of them? Lorcan must be around here somewhere.
But the three weren't alone. They were joined by Lucian Mornstern, Slytherin prefect Beatrice Dupont, another Slytherin she didn't know, and a Gryffindor girl she also didn't know. She opened the compartment door and grinned at her siblings. "What trouble are you three are getting into? And without Lorc! Shame on you!"Lily scolded them but with a smile on her face and she nodded towards Luci and the others before sliding in a seat next to Colin. It was a bit packed but she didn't mind as she laid a head on his shoulder lovingly. "So what are we doing?" she said happily with a smile as she looked around the compartment. Colin's face was a bright red tomato and Lily's lips twitched as she shared a glance with Ciáran, and giving her an approving nod at how embarassed she just made Colin.
