The Halls of Hogwarts were still relatively silent on this cold December morning. It was December 2nd, a Saturday. Beatrice had gotten up early, finished reading a good book and taken time to get ready. Now, she was making her way to the Great Hall for breakfast, a book in hand and a rumble in her stomach. The early hours promised a comfortable, silent and cozy breakfast with a small amount of students. She would be able to choose wherever she'd want to sit and whatever she would want to eat - not that she usually wasn't able to choose what food she preferred that day. The plates were always full, until the end of breakfast. Even now, she could smell the scent of fresh bread even though she hadn't even entered the great hall. She pulled her sleeves lower, over her hands and turned the corner.

The second year Slytherin was met with the sight of almost empty tables, steaming tea pots and tired faces. A small smile spread across her lips, as she made her way over to the Slytherin table. When Beatrice had made it halfway, she suddenly caught sight of a familiar face at the very end of the Gryffindor table. The soft features and dark hair of Ying made Beatrice's smile grow wider. As much as she had wanted to start this book, breakfast with a friend sounded just as nice. Although Ying was also reading, Beatrice still felt the urge to join her and before she could have second thoughts, her feet already carried her to the other side of the the hall. Her step was light and she took one last tug on her sweater and skirt to make both sit perfectly before approaching her friend.

Good Morning Ying, may I sit with you?“ The snow outside of the windows had joined those awake in the early hours, falling gently and touching the big windows from time to time. Beatrice waited for her friends approval, before sitting down opposite to her. „I didn't expect seeing anyone I am familiar with this early in the morning. Although I suppose, you must also be used to it from home?“ The Slytherin student helped herself to some of the steaming black tea while talking, setting her book down beside her. „I find the snowy weather most beautiful, I just love the white sparkling fields and trees.“ A smile spread across her features, gazing up to one of the high windows. „How are you, any plans for the weekend?“ Beatrice looked at her friend curiously, taking a piece of toast and putting some baked beans on her plate.
Ying reading the newspaper and sitting at the very end of the table was agreed to beforehand by her writer

Ying was sitting at the end of the Gryffindor table, a potions book in one hand and holding a green apple in the other, from which she was taking small bites. She was frowning in concentration looking at the illustration of a beautiful round bottle containing a light pink colored liquid. Underneath the picture there was a brief explanation about the potion, as the ingredients and necessary instructions to brew it. On top of the page, in bold and slightly larger letters, one could read "Drowsiness Draught". And no, she was not trying to learn with the intention of putting someone to sleep, even if admittedly that could be useful sometimes!

"Good Morning Ying, may I sit with you?" The familiar voice came from somewhere above her head, stealing her attention from her reading and making her turn her head towards her friend. A smile immediately caressed her delicate features before she could reply to Beatrice, "Good morning Bea!" She said in a happy tone, "Of course you can sit!" She finished putting her book aside on top of the table and gesturing to the seat in front of her. "Well yes," Ying said melodically while softly laughing, "I always wake up pretty early. Most of the time to get some exercise, but today I'm feeling lazy for it! Besides..." She looked towards the ceiling. Among the thousands of suspended candles, delicate snowflakes fell, mirroring the landscape that could be seen through the tall windows. "The weather is not particularly inviting for running outside, or having some flying train!" She stated playfully looking back at her friend. Ying took another small bite of her apple while Beatrice also helped herself to breakfast. "I have nothing planned," Ying responded while slowly shaking her head, "Studying I suppose." She said looking at her book on the table. Then noticing Beatrice had also brought something to read, she decided to ask, "What are you reading? If you don't mind sharing of course!" she said sending Beatrice a timid smile.

A tiny Slytherin girl walks into the Great Hall, seemingly eager for breakfast. Her brightly coloured jumper, faded jeans and boho satchel scream happy Hufflepuff. Her hair is currently half blue and half natural white blonde. She's got a short bob thanks to her brother's improved hair dressing skills. Behind her round lensed spectacles reside two keen green eyes. She scans the place. It's still early and not many kids are even up yet. She heads over towards the Slytherin table, but stops short as a commotion erupts out in the Small Hall.

The commotion is a familiar one.

The rapidly approaching footfalls of a pair of scuffed black Doc Martens, interspersed with the softer padding of a pair of bare feet can be heard just outside! Voices, high and cheerful and full of life ring out. They're singing, bringing the chilly Scottish morning air in with them! The words are indistinct at first, but as chaos nears, a chorus can be picked out by anyone awake enough to sort through the raucous laughter!

A WIZARDS STAFF HAS A KNOB ON THE END! A KNOB ON THE END!!

The doors opened with a bang to reveal two white haired boys, arm in arm, their worn and faded kilts, blue and green respectively, sway in time with their odd motion, half swaying dance, half drunken run. A big black cat scooted between their legs and nuzzled the girl's ankles.

A KNOB ON THE END!!! A KNOB ON THE ENNNNDDDD!!!!

"Whoa! Ci! Ye woke up lassie!" said Colin. The boys parted slightly to bring the first year Slytherin girl into their warm embrace. The cat looked around the hall. It's blue eyes carefully sizing the place up. It gave itself two sudden shoulder licks before deciding that, perhaps, today would be chaos free.

"Gerroff me you two! Ye're as cold as lake water both of you! And of course I'm up, Colin McCoire! Ye're worse than a muggle alarm clock for sounding off at all hours of the morning! And I suspect you, Liam McCoire, are no better! Now, I'm off to meet me friends for a quiet breaky and some studying!"

And with that, Ciarán slipped out of her older brothers' grasp and skipped over towards her table. "Well, what's that all about?" Liam asked, watching after Ciarán.

"Dunno. She's a girl. Girls are ... you know..." Colin made a funny gesture with his hand.

Liam nodded. "Ah. Inscrutable."

"Incomprehensible."

"Unsolvable knotheads."

"MRRRRR."

The boys looked at each other, eye to eye. They smirked. Then separated. Liam went off towards the Ravenclaw table. Colin wondered if Clair was there yet. He'd love to go over and say hi to her! Of course, her scent lingered here, a constant and comforting reminder of her activities in and around the school. But mixed with hundreds of others, both familiar and not so familiar, it was still sometimes hard to tell if she was here now or if she was here earlier and left.

Colin's eyes lingered over the Ravenclaw table for a moment. Like a lost dog, masterless. She wasn't there yet maybe. His eyes roved over towards the Gryffindor table. Colin started. His eyes fell on a familiar sight. Beatrice Dupont. Slytherin Prefect sitting at the Gryff table? Now that was interesting! His feet changed direction. He shifted his body slightly to see who she was with. Did she find some Gryffindor lad fancied her? Colin smirked. And who wouldn't? She was cute, Colin freely admitted. Really cute.

His lips curled up, revealing his left side fangs. Heheh. It wasn't a lad after all. Even better! Twas her friend Ying Fang! Ming's cute little sister. The girl he'd set on fire in the last broom race. They looked like they were just chatting. There was no reason he shouldn't visit his friends at another house's table. It's not like there was Rule or anything!

Colin smiled gaily as he skipped over towards the Gryffindor table. Greebo trotted along beside him. Bea sat across from Ying. Perfect. Colin dropped his satchel on the table and Greebo jumped up to nestle on it. He began purring happily. Colin winked at Bea, then draped himself across the bench next to Ying. He gave her his best smile! "Ayo Bea! And Yiiiing!" Colin drawled out the Gryff's name, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Me and Liam just got back from --- the lake!"

Colin flicked his long hair a bit, then leaned his head on his hand so he could look Ying in the eyes. He emphasised the last two words, wondering how she would react. Only briefly, his eyes widened. He wondered. Had she told her friend?

Whenever you’re around Colin, you never know what’s going to happen. The older lad is loud, abrasive and has enough self confidence for the both of them. Luci could hear him and his twin just as he clicked eyes with the Great Hall, the Scottish brother’s voices carrying in the castle and to his heightened ears. He chuckle dryly to himself, watching as Colin’s sister slipped into the hall. Colin’s family were… interesting to say the least.

Luci ignored their interaction as he walked through the doors, instead looking at his table for his friend. When he couldn’t find her, he grew disheartened; he didn’t want to sit alone. Just as he lost hope, a slight whiff of something familiar filled the room. He couldn’t pin point where it as coming from exactly, but it was definitely familiar and thus he knew that she was here somewhere.

Maybe she was at another table?

Lucian didn’t know why she would be, after all, who wants to sit with another house? Yet, as he scanned them he saw her sitting at possibly the worse table ever. The Lions. With a frown, he stalked over and saw she was sat with the same girl from the train. Not the Slytherin, Mari, but the dork. Fang Hui-Ying. "Morning ladies," he greeted, appearing out of nowhere. There was discarded newspaper and a book. "You both look nice," he took a seat next to Kas, whispering to her slightly, "Why are ye sat with the lions?" it wasn’t accusative, much, just… curious?

Lucian hadn’t quite made an assessment on Ying. There wasn’t much you can gather on a train ride, especially when you feel like utter shit that whole journey. Now though, he supposed, was his time to assess her. Call it macho if you want, but Lucian was being a good friend and wanted to know if she was one of the good ones, not like that Amaris Knight or Elizabeth, so he wouldn’t worry about his best mate.

Luci turned to look at Col, "Mate, are you mental?" he asked with a smirk, taking in his Alpha’s expression as he directed the last part to Fang Jr. He sent a ‘what was that’ look toward him, jutting his head up slightly with a brief and minuscule frown. "Too cold for a swim brother!" he shivered at the last time he went in the lake. It was actually this day last year, when he yanked Norv from Cia and she chased him across the school.

Beatrice took a sip off her tea while listening to her friend talk. She loved hearing Ying's voice and watching the sparkle in her eyes when she mentioned something she liked or joked around. Nodding and chuckling at the comment about the weather, Beatrice took the cup between her hands, the soothing warmth soaking into her skin. „Why yes, it is quite cold outside. Especially for high speed activities.” Running or flying in the cold would certainly require gloves and warm clothing, however, if you put on too many layers, the actual moving around part became harder and harder. „Perhaps we could visit the library together later today? Not being alone while studying sounds good and I need to get some assignments done as well, what do you think?” the Slytherin looked at her friend with a questioning yet somewhat encouraging look. She wasn't sure if Ying would want to spend time with her today, but she did enjoy the Gryffindors company and would most certainly be happy about a cozy study session. When Ying pointed out Beatrice's book, the brunette blushed slightly. „Oh! It's Bewitched Baking...” A nervous chuckle escaped her lips. „Do you enjoy baking? I can't say I have much experience.” To be quite honest, Beatrice had no experience in the kitchen at all. She could prepare a sandwich, make some hot chocolate or scramble some eggs, but anything beyond that had always been done for her. She just had to bat an eye at the house elves.

When her train of thought was disturbed by a familiar voice, Beatrice sighed slightly. It wasn't that she did not like Colin, she just hadn't had a calm interaction with him yet. Colin always brought chaos and noise with him, in one way or another. Her cheeks flushed slightly as the older Slytherin winked at her. She wasn't used to such obvious attention or people winking at her. Her eyes flashed at Ying when Colin leaned close to the Gryffindors face. „The lake you say?” Beatrice trailed off, her eyes becoming smaller and her eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly. „Tell me, Mr. McCoire... You just took a walk around the lake, right?” she was very tempted to stretch her arm across the table and grab Colin's hand just to feel his body temperature. Just as she was about to actually proceed with that, another familiar voice send a shiver down her spine and made her look up at her best friend. Her eyes tried to search for his as he sat down and complimented Ying and her. His words made her grin slightly and she leaned into him to answer. „Just sitting with my friend, what are you doing up so early?” Then Beatrice sat back up, pushed her plate closer to Lucian, just like that first day, and spread some jam on her toast.

"I honestly would love that, studying with company is always nice." Ying replied to Beatrice when the Slytherin girl suggested for them to go together to the library. There were several subjects she needed to catch up, especially before the winter race start, they had new team members and Ying spent a lot of time studying tactics and strategies, trying to adapt them as best as possible to the new elements. All of her main focus had been on broom racing lately and now extra study time was needed, the last thing she wanted was to lower her grades and having to explain it to her parents.

"Baking?" Ying asked excitedly taking a look at the cover of Bea's book that was next to her friend resting on the table. It had a yellow hardcover with a drawing of a cupcake with a cherry on top. Ying thought a cupcake would also go well for breakfast. "No much experience either, but wouldn't mind give it a try one of these days!" the Gryffindor said looking at the long table, searching for something sweet to add to her plate, "Perhaps we can try together?" She asked, picking up an apple pie and taking a small bite before looking at Beatrice again, "I once had loads of fun cooking a chicken dish in one of the campgrounds cabins. We can use them for baking a nice cake to all of our friends!" Ying looked at her friend hoping she would agree it would be a good plan for them to spend some free time together.

But before she could hear Beatrice's response, familiar voices entered the Great Hall like a brass band orchestra that shook the entire calm and serene atmosphere of that morning. Ying sighed loudly, but it would easily pass unnoticed with the McCoire's voices singing,- maybe the use of the term singing was being too kind - reverberating through the spacious room. To her dismay, after the two boys decided to go their separate ways and leaving poor Ciarán alone, Colin headed towards her and Beatrice.

Ying fought the urge to hide behind her book or under the table when the light-haired boy opted to sit next to her, unceremoniously placing his satchel on the table. The young Gryffindor took advantage of Greebo's presence to distract herself from how close Colin was to her and how that simple fact made her stomach churn and her heart beat like a crazy drum. "Gosh, when will this end?" She thought to herself while reaching a hand to the beautiful black kitten now curled next to Colin's school bag. "Ayo Bea! And Yiiiing!" She heard the boy greet them and dragging her name. She knew then, that something else was coming her way. She turned her attention from Greebo to finally look at Colin, raising her eyebrow, "Colin?" she decided to ask with a tone of defiance.

"From-- the lake what that suppose to mea..." Ying began quickly, not understanding what the boy meant, but has her words left her mouth she remembered how they have met, and again, the curling need to get up and leave embraced her whole being, "Oooh..." She said slowly not really sure what to say. A stream of thoughts came to her mind, one after another, one more embarrassing than the other. The only thing she could do was hold his gaze on hers, trying to discern what to say and how to react to his words.

"The lake you say?” Relief washed over her as her gaze shifted to the Slytherin girl, thanking the girl in her thoughts for sparing her that embarrassing moment, turning the attention towards herself. "Tell me, Mr. McCoire... You just took a walk around the lake, right?” Beatrice continued and Ying couldn't avoid the smirk that spread across her face giving her dark eyes a glint of sass when she looked at Colin again, "Yes, Mr. McCoire, what have you been doing at -- the lake?" Ying asked mocking him, repeating the way he had emphasized the word 'lake' and placing her elbow on the table while resting her face on her hand, mirroring his previous gesture.

"Morning ladies," another familiar voice approached. Ying has been so distracted waiting for Colin's answer that hadn't seen Lucian arriving their table. And what was that? What kind of good-natured attitude was he displaying during that morning? Isn't he the living picture of gloomy? Ying looked at the dark haired Slytherin boy with a mix of surprise and suspicion. "Good...morning?" She replied back to him not sure she should show enthusiasm in her welcoming. "You both look nice," he continued and Ying almost dropped her jaw onto the table. "Now...seriously who is this guy?" She thought, "Thanksss...?" She said in a mutter, trying to understand what was going on with him. To be fair, it was a good surprise to see he was not always Grumpy, but...she wasn't expecting it and definitely she wasn't prepared to see this other side of the Slytherin boy, "You don't look bad either" Ying ended up saying with what she expected to be a friendly smile, although it felt awkward as hell!

And the conversation turned again towards Colin and his adventure at the lake. It was kinda pleasant that he had tried to mess with her with old -good- memories, and that the "spell had turned against the wizard", because he had forgotten Beatrice was a prefect! How perfect! "I agree with Mr. Mornstern!" Ying said nodding at Lucian, "Sooo..." She turned again to Colin, "Are you going to tell us?" She finished asking him, blinking with an innocent expression trying to hide her strong desire to laugh at his face.

A smirk spread across Colin's lips as Ying stammered. "Aww, ye remembered our first meeting!" Colin had been rather embarrassed at the time, but he had shrugged that off soon enough. He was always forgetting things like that, and it was just a matter of time before someone caught him out in the water with nothing but water dripping off of him! And now he gave her a wink and a smile.

Colin smiled when he heard Luci's voice greeting them. He laughed softly when Luci asked why they were with the Gryffindorks. Colin turned his head to see if any of the locals minded the presence of two of Slytherin's most noble sons. And even if they did, the sight of Bea's Prefect badge would surely keep them in line! "Aw, mate why not? Anyway! I thought to meself: Colin, we should go over to Gryffindork and offer our greetings to Bea and Ying, truly two cuties!"

He narrowed his eyes with false indignation. "And what do you mean by 'mental'!? It's never too cold to go for a sw---" His eyes flew over to Bea's gaze. She'd just asked him about being down by the lake! A part of his brain screamed PREFECT!! Of course, another part reasoned that she wasn't down there herself, and so couldn't really directly accuse him of anything!

"Oh!"

Even Ying followed Bea's cue and pressed him about going down to the lake so early in the morning! Colin sat up straight, raising his left hand slightly, index finger extended upwards. "The lake! Oh, Bea, isn't it lovely this time of year? Ying, you really should go for a walk down there --- ye never know what ye'll see!" He grinned at the Gryffindor.

"So, yeah! Me and Liam were --- er --- walking by the lake!" Colin looked thoughtfully towards the ceiling. "Oh! And we had a race, so running figured rather prominently into our morning. Zoomies and all, right Luci? I'm sure you understand! Oh! And by the time we'd run all the way up to the high meadows above the castle and back, weren't our poor feet worn out from all the running, right?" Colin nodded sympathetically. "And I had to help Liam find his scarf, and Liam had to help me find me shirt. And it took us a bit to find our satchels and all! And what with worn out feet from running and roaming about, we did decide to give em a wee dunk in the cool and refreshing waters, right there by that grassy bit!"

Colin nodded, smiling at the reminiscence. "And then ... after a bit, we ran back up here singing and I thought I'd look for Clair, but I didn't see her." Colin let out a sigh. "And then! I found you two sweethearts sitting right here at the Gryffindor table, and I just had to stop by and join you!"

Colin speared a piece of sausage from Bea's plate and munched it with a grin.

Lucian grinned as he caught the trail end of Bea's words to Colin, "Just look at the loon, he very much did not just walk around it," he stated, sitting down. "And because we could be sat with our house," he said with a teasing huff. And the fact Lucian doesn't have the best track record with Gryffindors. Amaris, Raizel, Isobel... Odilon. He even had connections to Thorn through a Gryffindor. Now they were adding another lion to their group. "But yes, I suppose the pretty girls make it better," he agreed with a weak smile. Odi. How had that gone downhill so quick? He just caught the end of what cOlin had said to him, but he had cut himself off and Lucian followed his eyesight to the PREFECT badge that was clipped preciously on her clothes.

He said some words to the girls and felt Kas lean into him. He rested his head against her head as she spoke. A form of hug from the angle they were at. "Couldn't sleep," he replied with a shrug. "What about you?" he asked, moving his arms to make room for the plate Kas was pushing between them. She spread some jam on her toast and Lucian quietly chuckled to himself as he remembered their first encounter.

He turned to Ying, letting out a short huff of laughter and a smile. "Thank you! I was feeling a little chilly so I put this jacket on too," he explained, lifting his arms up slightly. "And I couldn't be bothered with my hair, not on a Saturday," not that he usually did bother with it unless it was for a special occasion.

Ying then addressed Colin and Lucian raised his eyebrow at the formality as it dripped off her words. He cleared his throat and looked at Colin with a smirk, "Yes, Mr. McCoire, please enlighten Ms. Fang and Ms. Dupont about your lake crusade," he said in a 'posh voice'. It was slightly exaggerated too. Colin really buggered himself up!

Colin then started to talk.

Hearing about his escapades, Lucian was slightly jealous he didn't have a close relationship to his brother. (He didn't think about Wren). That would change this September though, when Baxter finally joined. They could do as much damage as Colin and Liam!

The older Slytherin boy spoke about how he got the so-called 'zoomies' and Lucian shook his hea with a laugh. Colin then say that Lucian would understand and he looked at Ying subtly before shaking his head. "Nope. Not a clue, mate. Zoomies are for animals!" Lucian could get hyper though. He hasn't had a hyper dash for a while though. Gosh, what he would do for a dopamine boost! He listened to the rest of Colin's story and reached for a drink. As he was doing so, the cheeky bugger had reached over and nicked a sausage off of Kas' plate.

The second year looked at Colin, back at the plate, at Colin, the plate then at Bea. He saw that she was giving the wild one a look that screamed 'are you serious' and he couldn't help but laugh to this time last year where he had been in Colin's exact place. He remembered the words she had spoken to him »And keep your hands out of my food Mister Royal Blue suit.« and he couldn't wait to see what her reaction will be to water boy touching her food.

Lucian knew he wasn't happy.

Colin didn't even ask! He wouldn't have minded if it was his own plate, but it was disrespectful to just take food of someone's plate-- much less a respectable lady!

Chuckling along with Ying’s words and the comfortable atmosphere, Beatrice felt quite disturbed by the chattering that had now started. From all that Colin just expressed, she was left rather dumbfounded. Her eyebrows were pulled together in a frown, staring the blonde boy down as he munched on a sausage stolen off of her plate. Granted, he could have taken it as Luci’s plate as she had just pushed it between them, regardless, that did not allow for uncivilized behavior. „Well, Mr. McCoire, first of all, you are well aware that the lake is completely off limits, yes? Stepping in, no matter how deep, is not something you should do. Especially not in this weather. You could have frozen your limps off and worse, I trust you are well aware of what happened at the last Fall Ball, aren’t you? That clearly should have taught you why we do not step foot in that Lake unattended.” Was Beatrice giving Colin a speech that may be a bit over the top? Yes. Did she think it was necessary because he was a third year and clearly didn’t know how to act responsibly? Also yes.

Second of all, you do realize that I am a Prefect, yes? For what you just explained to me, I could very well give out a nice detention to you and your Brother.” taking a breath, Beatrice continued to fixate him with her gaze and stay calm. Her voice was not harsh, nor loud as she spoke but she was serious. „And Finally, for the love of Merlin, get your own plate and leave your dirty fingers away from mine. Only you know where that dirty hand has been, I’d rather not have bacteria spread all over my breakfast.” Finishing off her lecture, Beatrice poured herself another cup of tea and took a sip. Then she refocused on Ying. „So, any upcoming events or something else that you are looking forward to next week?” A smile settled on her lips, as if she had not just given a full blown speech.
OOC NOTE: I am so sorry this is just Bea giving Colin a speech haha, I’ll certainly be writing more and interacting more generally in the next post

Ying surpressed as best as she could the laugh that was threatening to leave her, seeing Colin prepare himself to respond to Bea's inquiry. She felt extremely curious to get to know what kind of excuse would he find out to give his own house prefect, when he had already dug his own grave and give himself up. "The lake! Oh, Bea, isn't it lovely this time of year? Ying, you really should go for a walk down there --- ye never know what ye'll see!" the miscreant said while flashing her one of his grins that made her pulse quicken. Ying felt the immediate need to bump his head with the first thing that she would grab from the table, but instead she smiled awkwardly at him not wanting to shoe the embarrassment that was fiercely rising inside of her. "And...what would I find there Colin? You may what to enlighten me about it!" She replied back to him with a sweet but cheeky smile. She knew well what he was referring to, but there was no way she was going to give him the pleasure of finding out how it really made her feel, what she had really felt about him ever since.

A laugh escaped her as she heard Lucian following her and Bea's example and also giving his own words for the purpose of causing Colin's down fall. She smiled approvingly at him, the way he pronounced it was quite funny. Seriously, something went really right for the dark-haired boy that morning or he really did have more than one personality!

Ying listened to everything else the Slytherin boy had to say with a raised eyebrow, in disbelief how he managed to put all that speech together in such a flimsy way to save his skin, "Why did you have to help Liam find his scarf? And why did he have to help you find your shirt? Were you both running around and tossing things around?" Ying asked with the intent of leading him to spill a little more about his, clearly, made-up story, "A wee dunk?" Ying asked again, "Very wee one?" She continued putting her thumb and index finger close to each other indicating a small distance, "Like this?" She mocked with a small laugh, "Colin, you don't fool anyone. You're a terrible liar!" She told him cheerfully before taking another bite on her apple pie.

Ying appreciated with a certain delight the sermon Beatrice gave to Colin, a smile kept to her lips and a mischievous glint kept glowing in her dark brown almond eyes, listening to every single word her friend was saying him.

The next bite she gave though, lost some of its sweet flavor at the mention of Clair. Ying hated feeling this way, hated not being able to avoid it, that bitter effect that always came over her, that corrupted her and made her feel an extremely ugly being to allow her self to feel such jealousy. It was life being ironic in its best, the reason why she felt that way for Colin was because how he was able to feel that way for Clair. Had she had met someone that liked another so much, without being afraid to say it to the wind and everyone around? She smiled shortly, not even daring to lift her eyes from her apple pie, when he complimented her a Bea by calling them sweethearts. Her heart felt everything but sweet at that time.

Because she kept her gaze down, Ying didn't notice when Colin took the sausage from Bea's plate, so the next words coming from the Slytherin girl was what shook her away from her own thoughts, "And Finally, for the love of Merlin, get your own plate and leave your dirty fingers away from mine. Only you know where that dirty hand has been, I’d rather not have bacteria spread all over my breakfast." Bea said, and Ying looked at her lifting her eyebrows questionably but opted for not saying a word, looking instead at Colin to see his reaction.

"So, any upcoming events or something else that you are looking forward to next week?” She then heard then Bea ask but this time towards her. "I'll have some broom racing practices scheduled, so I'll need to plan it with my team, besides that, there's the History assignment to deliver!" Ying replied with a smile, but it turned into an awkward one when she noticed by her answer that her life was pretty empty of excitement. Ying cleared her throat before continuing, "What about you? Are you guys home for winter break?" She asked looking at her companions and waiting for what they would want to tell her.
