	----- Their luck would surely begin to run out, but not any time soon. As thick clouds were cast above, Avery pushed the advantage, Pea saw the opening too! A quick flick of his unruly wand and another blast of wind was sent to same; aiming to keep her completely occupied. Mahlioz had a strategic mind too, it seemed; and it wasn’t to go unnoticed. They were doing much better than the summer duel at least…

As Bea stood there and watched her Sam be bombarded by spells, she felt so guilty. Here she was doing nothing. Not one spell had hit this entire duel. She was utterly useless. All this spellcasting for absolutely nothing. They were halfway through the duel now and she needed to get her stuff together. At least Zach had cast metelojinx and lightening had come now. Now if only fate would give them a win.

Zach was already at his limit. However, he somewhat hadn't completely collapsed yet. Was he lucky? Or perhaps the Moirai still wanted to witness and enjoy the suffering of this poor pale boy. Whatever the reason, this was his best opportunity to do whatever it took to help his team win.

Mahlioz had taken this round to dodge, but much to her disappointment, nothing was sent her way, so she had nothing to dodge. Well, disappointment wasn't really the right word - she was glad she hadn't been hit, that was for sure. She just wished she could have taken the round to do something a little more useful, if she'd known no one would aim at her.

Still, she was somewhat comforted by the fact that the rest of the duel wasn't going too badly; in fact, it was really turning in their favor. Although the Ravenclaw was able to dodge Pea's spell, she got hit by Avery's, and the youngest Raven looked just about unconscious, though he was somehow still on his feet. There also happened to be a raincloud over their heads now, and Mahlioz just managed to dodge its lightning. Well. That was fun.

The idea of her team just being bad wasn't one she was willing to accept. The theory about this duel being cursed was way more likely. Maybe somebody had put something in their drinks before this duel started or used some other type of magic. What they would gain from it, Samantha didn't know. It seemed to obvious that the Slytherins were behind this. Besides, it would have been too risky for them to do it. She shook off the thought. It was just a duel. Nobody poisoned her or her teammates.

She just wasn't used to dealing with failure, not this big of a failure. However, the duel wasn't done yet. Mayne they still had a chance. Samantha was too busy dodging incoming spells to notice Beatrice not failing to preform. After the spelld were cast, the brunette struggled with the strong winds and didn't have any time to focus on her team mates.

The tension is high with adrenaline and well.. fire. The Ravenclaw boy was still caught in a little bit of fire left by her spell, but then it soon dissipates with the wind. Although it looks like he would soon also dissipates. While the snakes are again ready yo strike. Both Leveret and Pea aim their spell unto the older Ravenclaw. While she manages to evade her spell but the bird is not quick enough to evade both spell. Another cluster of wind form as soon as the one before disappear. It sure is getting chilly over at the blue and silver side. Although a cloud suddenly form on top of the snakes. A familiar cloud that she really do not want to meddle with.

With Slytherin having found their stride and Ravenclaw likely wanting to take back their lead from before, Lea had expected a lot more. Both teams had their usual targets- Avery, Mahlioz, Zach, Samantha- none of whom seemed to be backing down from the challenge or giving up soon. They had certainly figured out dodging and not so much aiming.

Three wands unintentionally pointed towards Avery. Zach, supposedly looking to keep the competition going between himself and Mahlioz, would find his wand aiming towards the other second year as the Knockback Jinx fired off into the air. The difference between intention and actual aiming meant that the spell fell more in between the two targets, Avery barely even needing to pay notice with the other potential spells headed his way.

Beatrice would look to oppose both second years, using spell spread as a chance to make up for her slowed activity in the previous round. Yet something about the last Slytherin, Pea, and focusing on an additional two other people would be too much as the Fire-Making Spell fizzled out before anything could be done. That left Sam for the Ravenclaw team as she looked to cast a Knockback Jinx against Avery, only for him to easily maneuver out of the way as the only spell truly aimed towards him.

Mahlioz would try to knock out the Ravenclaw boy with flames, his aiming more precise than anyone else in this round. Still while Zach had been distracted before, that would no longer be the case as he ducked just barely in time for the flames to pass over his head without losing any hair. The plumes of orange and yellow quickly dissipated, leaving the boy unharmed. Pea would try against Sam once more in the hopes of keeping her pinned by the wind, but after the few rounds of being pelted by the breeze it seemed Samantha had grown somewhat used to the conditions. Moving out of the way of this secondary wind would prove challenging but doable as both winds dissipated with Sam able to freely dodge once more. Finally, it would be Avery who would generally succeed at his spell as he directed his attention towards the cloud above and blew it over to the other side. Yet it seemed the cloud had no intention of harming anyone quite yet as the bright flashes merely singed the floor.

	----- It took only a few seconds of his eye turning to the sky to blow the storm clouds across the piste, but in those few seconds so mu- little, had happened. It was a surprise to be sure, but they were still going. Could it get any closer? He dodged the incoming bolt of zipping blue magic, and he smacked his lips; oh no, confidence was returning…

Well that had been boring. Not that Mahlioz was complaining. In fact, the only thing that had happened had ended up helping them out, which merited a grin from her. Though her incendio had just missed, which was slightly disappointing. Making fireballs was fun, especially when they hit the person you were aiming for. But none of the Ravenclaws' spells hit either, so Mahlioz took that as a win.

One small win wasn't all there was, though. Hopefully it would lead to the winning of the whole duel. As long as their luck (and, she decided to tell herself, their skill) sustained itself.
