Things couldn't get worse right? Wrong. Aside from the fact that they are getting overwhelmed by the spells the Hufflepuff team is throwing at them, they are also getting overwhelmed by their own nerves in this duel. At least, that's what Raizel is thinking as Estelle stood there, unable to move nor cast a spell. She went down as two spells hit, making Raizel wince.

"Oh, I can move again." It was at that time that she realized that she had broken out of petrification but they are already at a huge disadvantage right now. It's gonna take a miracle for them to win this and maybe, a large amount of focus. Hopefully, she won't end up spacing out herself.

Slowly, she stood up, taking a quick glance around, her remaining teammate and the opponents that were still pretty much complete. What to do, what to do, she thought, gripping tight on her wand. Why struggle though when the results are inevitable? It's kind of clear on who the winners are. Well, you never know what could happen in the future. Not to mention, giving up is not her thing.

Alyssea took a more passive stance this round as she focused on making that healing spell come to life. Learning it in Transfiguration was difficult but the days of casting the bogies' curse on herself to practice the spell certainly paid off. EmmaLee looked slightly better after it.

Remember that comment she made about Hufflepuffs and fires going together earlier? She might've jinxed it now that her clothes were on fire. Oh, well. At least things were in a slightly better position for them.

Axyen looked towards Estelle, his target which he focused on. Axyen raised his wand and drew a downwards curve before moving it quickly upwards with a small hook towards the end of it before saying the needed incantation... "Flipendo!" He watched Estelle stand still, no spell-casting, nothing. Just idly standing, perhaps it was a late reaction of sorts, but besides the point. Axyen flinched a bit as he watched Estelle get hit by a Flipendo sent by Axyen and another Flipendo sent by one of his teammates, which Axyen realized it was EmmaLee that sent the spell, sending Estelle downwards to the ground. It was clear she was unconscious as the moderator had to pause the match to carry Estelle off the stage before she gave the two teams permission to continue the duel. Alright Axyen, everything is going well, you and your team managed to take one of them down... now we need to take the other two down. Axyen though to himself as the match went on. Axyen focused on specific things in the duel to try and calm himself down and it seemed to be working so far... in a sense. That lingering nervousness still danced around in Axyen's head, it created a distraction for Axyen, making Axyen second guess his moves. But deep down Axyen knew there was no time, no room for those thoughts, but Axyen didn't know how to get rid of these thoughts. Axyen could only hope everything ended well for him.

Axyen noticed one of his teammates, Alyssea, suddenly had her clothes caught on fire. That motivated Axyen to focus up, he certainly didn't want to end up like that. Axyen prepared himself, he needed to focus to cast some spells. Axyen needed to think clearly, Axyen needed to see what was going on to make a proper decision, Axyen only had a few seconds to check out was going on. Estelle was no longer going to be a problem, Raizel was now free from Axyen's spell(which Axyen did not want) and Lily seemed normal.

Now that Axyen had a clear understanding of everything, he needed to think about what to do next. Even though Hufflepuff was currently golden, that gave Axyen no excuse to let up now. He needed to remain focused on what was important, and that was to win this duel with his teammates. Axyen felt tense, Axyen felt all the bad thoughts coming to his head again. What if everything doesn't turn out so well? What if they fire back with incredibly powerful spells? But the worse thought for Axyen was yet to come. What if we lose? Axyen shook his head, even if an unknown amount of people were watching. Axyen was silent, aside from his spell-casting. Axyen had no clue about what he even had to say, what would he even say to his teammates? Maybe it would be better to talk to them after the duel, this was no time to get distracted.

If there was something about this duel that Axyen feared, it was losing. How would his house react? Axyen wondered if losing was the worst thing that could happen, which for Axyen obviously it was the worst thing that could happen. Axyen couldn't think of anything worse that could occur during this entire duel. Axyen didn't want to fail his house. Why do these thoughts keep coming back to me? They never go away... and I don't know why. Axyen said to himself, it was time to focus back on the duel, it would help... maybe.

Estelle froze. Just a moment ago she had been so certain about her plan, about what she would cast and how it would lead her team to victory. Now she had nothing. She clutched her wand, willing herself to think, to remember. Her heart began to beat faster, her breaths quickened and her thoughts raced. What should she do? What could she do? People were watching this - she must have looked silly, standing frozen. The people in the stands were probably laughing at her failure to think. She couldn't do this. She shouldn't have even tried. Two spells hit her and Es' world faded to black, a single tear falling down her cheek.

Where the duel had seemed fairly balanced at first, it slowly became clear in favor of which team it was going. Raizel was back in action and tried to cast ventus- another advanced spell, Opeila did not blame her for not succeeding but the effort was commendable- but nothing happened. She was still doing better than Lily who froze up again, not doing anything.

The Hufflepuffs on the other hand seemed to be working together without even communicating. Opeila would have smiled at their teamwork, which was always nice to see, especially with the younger players who were still finding their feet in duelling- these three did not seem to have to try. In unison they cast Flipendo, all three of them, and while only Alyssea and Axyen landed hits, it was enough to throw Lily off her feet.

"Stop!" This time Opeila was faster, pausing the duel while Lily was carried off the stage. The Slytherin almost didn't want to signal the continuation, didn't want to give those three obviously skilled duellists the go to attack the one person that was still standing on the other side. But she did.

Even though the three of them had just met today, their synergy couldn't be doubted.

Alyssea liked pulling out tactical moves this early in a duel, but desperation and also determination pushed her to send out the same spell EmmaLee and Axyen had done earlier. She was always a bit scared to pull out full-on attack spells should they ever backfire. Luckily, her Flipendo successfully came to life and flew in Lily's direction.

Two against three was harsh, but one against three was worse. Alyssea gave Raizel a sympathetic smile. The girl deserved a hug after this.

It was surprising this duel is still going when it was clear that the Gryffindors can't do anything to fight back. There were a lot of chances for a comeback but none were taken. Most of them had frozen up probably due to the nerves of this being an official duel or they are just not used to shooting spells in front of a crowd. Who knows what is the cause. But she can't blame them. Things get overwhelming after all.

"Oi, Lily." She called out, seeing that her teammate had just fallen into a trance. She's going to get hurt if she just stands there doing nothing but nothing. She clicked her tongue and looked over to the opponents. Well, she should at least do something right? Raizel tried to cast a spell. As much as she didn't like to cast an advance spell out of fear of failing it, desperate times call for desperate measures.

But of course, just as she feared, nothing. There was nothing almost making her curse out loud and to make things worse, she just heard the loud thud as her last teammate had fallen unconscious.

Now what? What's the point of keeping this duel going? What's the point of her standing here and continuing the fight? She could feel her determination faltering due to this hopeless situation, to the point that she began to think that it was better to just give up…

Give up

No. She can't have that.

Her grip on her wand tightened. "Come on! Bring it on!" She'd rather have this duel end with her getting knocked out than giving up. Those words, she hates them more than anything else. This is going to be painful, physically, mentally and emotionally. Last man standing in her team but whatever. What chances does she have though? There was no point in this but the girl isn't exactly thinking straight. Too caught up with her own emotions to even make logical decisions.

Axyen raised his wand, aiming it towards Lily. He repeated the needed wand movement and said the incantation. "Flipendo!" The spell hit Lily and then Alyssea's Flipendo hit Lily a second time, and that seemed to be enough to knock Lily unconscious. Axyen noticed that just like Estelle, Lily froze up which was her second time now. Opeila paused the match to carry Lily off of the stage before letting the match continue.

Two down... one more to go.... Axyen thought to himself. He was still nervous, and he couldn't help but feel bad for Raizel, the last remaining Gryffindor that stood in the way of victory. Axyen didn't want to imagine what it felt like getting hit by all kinds of spells, it didn't look pleasant from what he saw. Axyen suddenly felt eyes of the crowd looking down at the duel. Stay focused! Stay focused! Stay focused! Axyen repeated to himself, but it didn't seem to work. Just don't look at the crowd and everything will be fine... Axyen told himself and he didn't look. He felt like he would mess up for even glancing at the stands.

Axyen had a feeling that the end of the match was coming soon, and it seemed like Hufflepuff would be winning. Yet Axyen still felt that lingering nervousness, what if somehow everything went terribly wrong and completely backfires for Axyen's team. No Axyen... just don't think negatively... it doesn't help. Axyen reminded himself. He was impressed how coordinated his team was considering there was no communication between them. Raizel said something, though Axyen wasn't paying attention, he was trying to stay calm, to stay on track.

Whatever happens next, it would be done completely for Hufflepuff, he wouldn't let his house down.
